The accommodation "Shimamura no Hanare" is just over an hour's drive from the city, and the peaceful scenery of a rural area rich in nature stretches out before you. "Shimomura no Hanare" was named after our family's business name. The accommodation is a compact but private space, and you can enjoy the seasonal scenery from the garden room. In the early Showa period, cars were not yet common in this area, and people mainly made a living by raising horses, cows, goats, chickens, etc. in stables. There is a renovated stable on our property, which is a charming space. The stable is also a space exclusively for guests. Children are welcome, and up to one small dog is allowed. He later studied woodblock printing and developed a deep interest in the production of washi. He also cultivated the raw material for washi paper, paper mulberry. We invite those interested in washi paper and art to stay overnight and enjoy this space, reminiscent of a washi paper museum, including these unfinished areas.
