In front of our house, which is sandwiched between the Hida-Buri Highway that connects the former Toyama and Takayama, there are the Nissho-bu Mingei Kan and the Yoshima residence, which are important cultural properties that show the rich cultural assets of Japan, and this area is designated as a preservation district for traditional buildings. You can enjoy the old town and beautiful scenery while experiencing historic buildings. It is a 2-minute walk to Miyagawa Morning Market and a 5-minute walk to Sakurayama Hachimangu Shrine, the site of the autumn Takayama Festival. The festival stall in this area is called Hōmeita, and it has a variety of decorations such as a palanquin and sculptures (1-minute walk to the stall). Recommended for families, couples and small groups. This area is rich in history and nature. Suwa Taisha Shrine, hot springs, Nakasendo. Hiking in the mountains and strolling around Lake Suwa are also recommended ways to spend your time. It's also great to explore the Suwa area on a rental bicycle.
