very rare property in the countryside area of Tokyo. a chance to experience the tranquility of nature, enjoy walks by the river and hikes in the forest. the house is well equipped and comfortable. we stayed for 2 weeks and it felt like home. we did plenty of cooking and enjoyed it much. after a busy day visiting Tokyo, only am hour plus away and we got to rest in the clean air and enjoy the bird singing. the area is just beautiful.

This was one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever stayed. If you come before May, and you are someone who tends to get chilly.. be sure that you bring something cozy and warm to sleep in. After all, this is a classic, gorgeous, paper, and glass house. Even though it can be a little bit breezy like when we stayed in early April, the comforters and mats kept us very warm. Comfy warm house slippers were provided. It is stocked with all of the cooking and eating utensils and dishes you might need. The dining area and prep area is wonderful, so spacious and inviting. Be sure to stop at the local grocery store before you go, as the nearest one is about 15 minutes drive. Our host Yoko San was even kind enough to suggest that we did this first as she knew that we were not driving there but taking public transportation and she wanted to be sure that we had everything we needed. She even recommended a local grocery store. This is a rare opportunity to experience history.

We had an amazing Golden Week stay at Tateya vacations with Honza and Mami, who were the kind of hosts that make you feel instantly at home. My two boys and I spent a long weekend exploring Akiruno’s trails (thanks to their top-notch tips), then recharging in total comfort. The house is peaceful, with a calming creek out back—my personal happy place was sipping espresso from their excellent machine, listening to the water. We also loved winding down at night with a movie on their fantastic sound system—felt like our own private cinema in the woods! Perfect mix of nature and modern perks. We left relaxed, recharged, and already planning a return visit. Thank you for a great break and appreciate your hospitality!

We had a nice time and slept very well in the amazing beds. The hosts even gave us a late check-out, which we appreciated greatly. However in our opinion the room is a bit overpriced as the accommodation itself is quite simple.

We (three adults) had a very nice stay at this apartment in a residential neighborhood. It was clean and well-appointed, and it is an easy straight walk to Hamura Station, which is helpful if you get lost easily. It was also easy to walk to the grocery, drugstore, bakery, greengrocer, and various restaurants. (If you like soba, be sure to visit the soba place behind 7-11 that looks more like a house. A hidden gem!) I would advise that the toilet room is very small and difficult to maneuver in, so if you are a larger person, it may not work for you. There's also a fairly steep flight of steps leading to the apartment. We received friendly and helpful responses the few times we had any questions or needs. We would readily stay here again.

I had a great stay at this Airbnb. The apartment was clean and orderly once I arrived, and the apartment was very cozy. Max was always very helpful and quick to respond to any questions I had. As for the area around the Airbnb, everything I needed was within walking distance and it was very easy to get around the area. The train station is also nearby and made it easy to travel to other cities.

I had a great experience staying at this Airbnb. The check-in process was smooth and contactless, which made everything super easy. The place was exactly as described—clean, cozy, and well-stocked with everything I needed for a comfortable stay, including fresh towels, kitchen essentials, and fast Wi-Fi. The location was perfect, close to restaurants, shops, and public transit, making it easy to get around. The neighborhood felt safe and quiet, which was a big plus. The host was also very responsive and friendly, offering great local recommendations and checking in to make sure everything was going well. Overall, I’d definitely stay here again. It felt like a home away from home!

I love this house. It's beautiful, clean, quiet, and the area is great. Hamura is beautiful, and the train station isn't far. There are plenty of shopping options. I'd love to come back in the future. My stay was fantastic, and the welcome was very warm. Some people have written that they can hear the planes from the air force base. That's true, but it's not disturbing. Thank you for everything and for letting me stay with you for so long.

Estamos muy felices de habernos hospedado en el departamente de Akiko! No sólo sus instrucciones fueron claras, la casa estaba reluciente sino que también nos dió varias recomendaciones. Es el departamento perfecto y muy tranquilo luego de un día de mucho caminar para recorrer la ciudad. Sin duda queremos volver!

This place is perfect. Near nakano broadway, many things nearby. If you want to send your luggage to other city or to aiport, just use yamato only 2minutes by foot

A comfortable place to stay for a week in tokyo - felt local/removed from the touristy parts of town, but it is pretty easy to get to Shinjuku and Shibuya, given how close it is to Kyodo station. Plenty of room for a family of 4 and easy access to groceries. Would not recommend for people with limited mobility or a lot of luggages since it is a 3rd floor walk up and the stairs are fairly narrow (tight for big suitcases)

Great place and quiet neighbourhood Nearest station is like 5 minutes on foot and about 20-30 minutes for shinjuku so you don’t have to travel a lot to get to the center of Tokyo Kota is very responsive and helpful Definitely recommend

Great homey feeling apartment. A bit small compared to US apartments, but felt cozy and comfortable once we adjusted.

its a very great place to stay especially the place is so walkable and the kamikitazawa has lift for our luggage. The place is also quite spacious knowing that tokyo's accommodations are usually small. it fits 6 luggage that can opened all at the same time (3cabin 3checked in luggage) . Jing is also very kind and helpful, he helped us finding my mom's lost phone and found it on the koban (small police station) . overall very recommended to stay here and really worth the price👍👍

Eric's place was exactly as described. We knew that the kitchen was not fully equipped which suited us as we intended to avail ourselves of the kombini or restaurants. Early risers in need of coffee may want to bring their own portable brewing devices. There is an electric kettle. McDonald's closeby opens at 7, or there is bottled coffee available at the kombini (Lawson's for example) which can be microwaved. We used the delivery service Wolt, too. The laundry facilities are on the balcony outside the apartment and there is no dryer. Clothes dried very quickly when hung up. The neighborhood is residential and quiet, offering to foreigners perhaps a more authentic experience of Japan. Those travelers with heavy luggage should know that there are two flights of steep stairs. Either write down the address for taxi drivers or learn to say the address in Japanese. Thanks, Eric.

We had a lovely stay, the room was spotless and the owner was very welcoming. The location is close to the train station so it was convenient as well.
