Welcome to Farmorhuset in Nykvåg, a genuine 1950s home with a sea view, in the heart of beautiful Vesterålen. The house was built in 1954 and combines nostalgic 1950s style with modern amenities such as a well-equipped kitchen, fast wireless internet and comfortable beds. Farmorhuset is best suited for up to 5 guests, but can accommodate 6 by using an extra mattress in one of the bedrooms. The house has 3 bedrooms, 4 beds and 1 bathroom, and the entire property with garden and outdoor area is at the guests' disposal

Barkestad has a good harbor with a lively fishing village, and fishing has long been an important industry in the area. It is possible to fish both from land and boat. You can get to the island by speedboat from Myre or Skjellfjorden - or your own/rented boat if you have this available.

TV-room, toilet and room with washmachine/ dryer in the basement. Wifi installed. We have a kayak, bicycle and a small boat with oars that can be used by the house's guests.
