Welcome to Mad Cat Hostel Osaka & Bar, which opened in August 2019. This small inn is run by a couple of backpackers who love traveling and two sign cats, Kogo-chan & Maru-chan. Nyanko and the others are a little shy because they're from the wild cat, but it's very healing to see the two people sleeping here and there in the inn. DIY renovated a longhouse over 80 years old, with a beach-style bar on the ground floor, a relaxing living room and water area for everyone, and the rooms on the second floor are old folk house style.Full of openness thanks to the removal of the ceiling. Even though it has been built for more than 80 years, the shower and toilet are shiny because it has been thoroughly renovated around the water.The bar on the ground floor has a welcome drink service, so you can relax, drink alcohol, and enjoy talking with locals. Anyway, I love cats, I love traveling, I love soccer, I want to relax in downtown Osaka, etc. I look forward to meeting people from Japan and around the world!!

A cozy mix dorm bed at hostel&cafe&records!

We are a hip boutique hostel in Shinsekai within walking distance of Tsutenkaku Tower, a famous symbol of Osaka. Travel around Osaka is easy as we are located within walking distance of three stations (JR Line, Midosuji and Sakaisuji subway lines). We are also within walking distance of central areas such as Namba. Around our hostel there are many cheap, local restaurants, as well as super markets and shops. The hostel features a shared living area containing a loft with cafe and a records shop. The cafe, located on the first floor serves in-house roasted coffee and some meals. You can play any records you would like to listen to! At the cafe, we sometimes have live music events and food parties so there are many chances to meet local Osaka people. It's possible to go to both of Tengachaya and Hanazonocho sta in 6mins on foot.You can go to NAMBA in 5mins and UMEDA in 14mins by train with no transfer.Tengachaya is a good place to be able to come from KIX with no transfer, and there’re many well-kept-secret restaurants,so you can enjoy!Staffs are kind and friendly,so you would like to come surely again^^Please feel free to ask anything about Osaka!!
