The house sits next to a beautiful 15th century church, set within a 3 acre church yard. Glorious and plentiful Waveney Valley walks in all directions. Guests have complete privacy and run of the house, including a private garden. We respect our guest's privacy, and are on call for any advice or assistance that you may need during your visit. The cottage is a short picturesque drive from the coastal gems of Southwold and Aldeburgh. Harleston and Bungay are quintessential English towns with charming independent stores, delis, family butchers, bistro cafes, pubs, restaurants, and tea shops. It's the countryside, most people drive. Diss is the mainline station between London and Norwich and is just 15 minutes by car. Cycling is very popular and the cottage is on a regular time trial route. Buses are very reliable and the village is well serviced making it easy to hop between Suffolk and Norfolk villages. There is fabulous walking from the cottage. Located in the Waveney Valley paths such as Angles Way which follows the Waveney river valley are right on your doorstep.

Fen Lodge Shepherd's Huts is close to the Suffolk heritage coast with Southwold, Walberswick and Aldeburgh a short drive away. There are heath and woodland walks, RSPB Minsmere and a great village pub a short walk from the hut. You’ll love my place because of the cosiness, the comfy beds, the wood burning stove, the dark night sky and the views across the meadow. No groups. The rest of the house is our family home, we live on site and will be available to help (unless we’re at the beach!)

The Folly

We would like to welcome you to The Folly, your cosy woodland retreat away from the stresses and strain of modern life. There's plenty to see and do with access on foot to the local woodland and beach walks. Keep an eye out when you boil the kettle you just might see a wild Muntjac deer pass by....or hear the hoot of a Tawny owl as you fall asleep. Please be aware in the summer months the local amusement park is open and may be heard during the day.
