  • Find a hidden Glen in Scotland's woods
We'll embark upon a journey whereby we get you to a mystical place, where we'll delve deep into forrest, enjoying the song of the birds and the gushing sound of the gorge underneath us, walk along the gorge, looking down at the amazing waterfalls and taking pictures of it. Then we will get to an ancient "staircase", where we need to climb down, using the ropes alongside the "stairs" and once we get to the bottom, we'll gaze upon an amazing gorge between the rocks covered with moss, crystal clear water, cold as ice, but a place looking like a haunted scenery out a fairy tale. This is Finnich Glen, that locals thought of being a place of the devils, an isolated and remote looking area, that gives you the chills and excitement in the same time. No wonder this place has been used as a scenery for the Outlander movie. For those brave ones, who want to get further into the glen, you can roll up your pants and get into the water (warning: extremely cold) and walk along and see an amazingly mesmerising world in front of you. Other things to note A good head for heights is necessary as it involves climbing down some slippery stairs, holding onto some ropes and rocks

  • People Make Glasgow
This is a small private tour. Typically 4/5 guests. Remember you can add the tour of Lanarkshire which starts immediately after this tour. We meet George Square, between the Lions. For the 10.30 tour we focus on Glasgow’s city centre and it’s mysterious history and association with tobacco and slavery. Walking around the city centre ending at Glasgow Cross the heart of the Medieval city. The tour examines how Glasgow went from being a small rural medieval city around 500 ad to the world's powerhouse with a population of over a million people. The city has re-invented itself several times and is now transforming itself into one of worlds most beautiful cities from an ugly industrial despoiled blot. Trace the slave trade and the ruthless barons who profited from the mysery of millions of africans. But before them it was Scotsmen who were enslaved to colonies in the Americas. We explore Glasgow's complex social, religous and political past when tanks patrolled Glasgow city centre and riots led to executions at Glasgow Cross. Glasgow has it all from political religous and social strife. Gordon is a great raconteur, a trained actor with a comedic talent. Starting George Square, exploring the Merchant City then down to the Medieval High stree

  • Glasgow Cathedral- Bring up the Bodies
For those who want to know a little of the City's history (with a little bit of humour mixed in) : My tour consists of visiting selected Lairs in the Old Burying Ground surrounding Glasgow Cathedral, the oldest (c 1560) Burying Ground in the City, where I tell the stories of some of those buried there, illustrated with their images to show how they reflect the history and development of the City of Glasgow from late Mediaeval times, through marriage and war with the Tudors, the Scottish Reformation, Cromwell and the Civil War, the Merchant City days, the '45 Jacobite Rebellion, the Shipbuilding and Heavy Engineering times to the present day and it's relevance to Scottish, British and World history. I do not shy away from the City's past involvement in Slavery. A Walking disability is not necessarily a barrier. (I offer this at a modest cost because I enjoy doing it so much, there are NO hidden extra charges. If Guests enjoy it too they may consider making a donation to the Cathedral or a charity of their choice at a later date.)

  • Hike World Heritage Reserve Waterfalls
We'll take you to this amazing place of a gorge of the River Clyde, where waterfalls come after waterfalls and even when you think you have seen it all, there's more. The Falls of Clyde is a Wildlife Reserve, an UNESCO World Heritage Site in Scotland with breathtaking scenery, a beautiful woodland walk, where you can hear birds chirping from everywhere and if we are lucky enough we'll see some badgers or even otters enjoying the surroundings just like you or me. There are over a 100 species of birds who live here, including dippers, ravens and kingfishers. The woodland walk does need good guidance throughout which takes you alongside the gorge and we can even take you to the other side of the river, which is less known and gives you a better view of some of the waterfalls. Some parts of the walk take more guidance than others, as you might end up taking longer on the hike if you don't know the place as much as the locals. Plenty of lookouts where you can stop and take photos and take lovely memories with you or if you get a bit tired, we can definitely takes some breaks, so you can catch your breath. This is quite a long hike, about 3 hours, so you'll get lots of exercise. Other things to note This is quite a long hike, over 2 hours long, so you'll need to have some energy for it. If someone gets tired, we do take breaks and you can even decide to stop alongside and wait for us coming back.
