Holiday rentals with beach access in Penobscot County

My husband and I just loved our stay. The location was beautiful and the neighborhood was very peaceful and relaxing. Corey was an exceptional host with great communication!

This home was conveniently located for my purposes and was a perfect space for the number of guests I had. The space was beautiful, as was the location. We were comfortable and satisfied with all parts of the home. There was a small problem with a frozen pipe when we arrived, due to the frigid outside temperatures, and our hosts immediately took care of the issue. We would definitely stay again if needed in the future!

Debbie's place was lovely! Incredibly beautiful area, comfortable and cozy living room and good location. Both Bangor and Acadia aren't too far which is quite nice. The one downside is that the place is not within delivery distance for restaurants. But it's only a 20 minute drive to Ellsworth so it is easy to drive to restaurants! Would definitely stay there again.

Can’t say enough about Craig’s beautiful lakeside cottage. If you like remote, peaceful and being close to nature this is for you. The house and contents seemed brand new and they had thought of everything we could want, right down to pancake mix, maple syrup and Maine blueberries for our breakfasts. An easy drive to Acadia. Craig was communicative, friendly and helpful. We had a fantastic stay and hope we’ll be back.

We enjoyed our time in Maine, at the Retreat, being 1500+ miles away from home for work, and it felt homey. Nathan and his team were excellent about answering any questions we had. Would most definitely stay there again, if we end up back in Maine. The cabin was perfect and the views were gorgeous, especially in the snow! It was something we don’t get to experience in the south. Highly recommend Nathan and one of his cabins if you want a place to stay!

We absolutely enjoyed our stay on the lake in the cutest cabin! The host was easy to connect with, answering all our questions with a timely response. Only two pieces of advice; whatever transportation you’re taking make I would suggest a truck with solid suspension. The cabin is on a long rough dirt road and grooved semi-paved, my Elantra wasn’t the smartest option. Second, I would suggest grocery shopping on your way if you want large items and a lot of stuff because Walmart is ~35-40 mins. We had fires every night, it was a little chilly in Sept to swim but we did kayak, and simply enjoyed the peace and quiet of the early Fall on the lake. There is one little country store ~10 mins away that has some last minute grocery items, camping stuff, adult beverages, and a little delicatessen where you can get breakfast stuff and subs - the guy makes a mean hero. At night would cozy up and watch a movie and the beds were crazy comfortable so slept great. We hope to make it an annual trip!!

My daughter and I stayed at Joan and Jim’s for two nights while we explored the area. Jim was there to greet us, show us around, and at night even started the fire for us! On our last night he took us on a sunset boat tour of the lake, told us stories all with Gemma the incredible cute sidekick cuddling with my daughter! The view of the lake, the peacefulness and the hospitality were all spectacular! The house is as described a tiny house with the bed in the loft with a low ceiling if you’re tall this might be an issue but was fine for us. As noted in some of the other comments, the toilet is now standard toilet and not compostable and the tiny home has been moved so you really get to look out at the lake. Overall, our stay was amazing and no doubt why they get super host status!!

Myself and my wife absolutely loved our stay! Couldn’t be happier with the cabin and the peacefulness the surrounding area provided. Jim was a fantastic host and was super responsive. The cabin is well stocked with everything you need for an enjoyable and relaxing vacation.

Such an absolutely magical place to stay! My pup and I stayed for a month while I worked and played. Gorgeous views of the Beech Hill Pond and close enough to various towns for hiking, sightseeing and enjoying local food. Spent time on Deer Isle, MDI at Bar Harbour & Acadia, and even made the trek to Lubec. if you want to experience a wee bit of winter and early spring, mid to late March into April was the perfect time. We had a few inches of snow fall within the first few days of the trip. Don't hesitate to book this cottage!
