The apartment was right in the middle of town which was perfect. we easily found the parking spot designated to the suite and got in very easily. The hot tub was an awesome perk with an awning that came out overtop.

Great location to visit Jamestown and Williamsburg. Lots of great food options nearby. We’ll be coming again!!!

Beautiful apartment with thoughtful touches everywhere! Super helpful hosts. So lovely to enter and find a bottle of local wine and locally baked goodies. Comfy robes, plenty of towels. The location features an amazing view of the Blue Ridge. We loved sitting by the fish pond with some wine and enjoying the rolling hills.

We stayed Thursday-Sunday and had a wonderful time. This Airbnb was probably one of the cleanest we have stayed in. We arrived via train and walked from the station (20 minutes) to bnb and took an Uber on our way back. Both super swift and efficient. We used the LIME scooters mostly to get around (10-20 minutes ride to museums) and it was super convenient that we were able to park them right beside the bnb. The space was super airy, natural light, and felt very safe -with a code to get into the building and another to get into the apartment. We felt super welcomed by 4 waters in the fridge for us as well. A few cons that are not deal breaker but good to take note of -Lower water pressure -Noisy street (dogs, traffic, city noise) but a sound maker may drain a lot of that out -WiFi connectivity was hard for us (but we did not inquire about it either) -Noisy washer/dryer -but it works well and was so amazing to have!

Sweet spot for a relaxing stay. Nicely set-up. Well equipped with all we needed. Both were responsive to inquiries. Should we need another extended weekend, we will stay again.

I stayed at the apartment for a week for Supernova Ska Fest and a little bday getaway. I am so grateful for the time I spent at Shangri-La. Kathy surprised me with not only a birthday greeting, but also a delicious cake in the fridge! It was incredibly sweet and made my day. When a last minute friend joined, both Kenny and Kathy were nothing but accommodating. I really enjoyed our conversation and the apartment is absolutely stunning and has everything you could ever need. I can't wait to be back. Truly a Hampton Gem. Thank you for being such warm hosts and sharing your home with the world!

It was such a pleasure to stay here. Susan is a fantastic host and it was a wonderful surprise to find the fridge stocked with donuts from the local donut shop! Check in and check out were a breeze and it was nice to stay somewhere that didn’t have a laundry list of check out instructions. If I ever make another trip to Charlottesville, I will be staying here again.

We had a great time in DC. Carla and Fred’s place is in a great location (Capitol Hill) an ideal residential area with local parks, coffee shops, markets and restaurants an easy 10-20 minute walk. We arrived via Amtrack and Union Station which was at 20 minutes walk, but we did a lot of sightseeing and used Ubers to get around. The place was as described and pictured. We travelled with our two 13 y. o. grandchildren and Carla allowed us to check in early which we appreciated. The basement apartment is clean and cozy. I recommend it for 2 , ror a family because the other two beds aren’t truly separated from the main bed, however the 13 y.o. didn’t seem to mind, so it’s perfect for a family and gives more room and separation than a hotel room with two beds. Carla and Fred are a friendly couple with interesting stories to share. I’ll give them a 5!

Sparkling clean with spacious bedroom and living/kitchen/dining area. Loved the couch and decor. No clutter. Bathroom clean shower nice roomy with lots of towels. Closet space was wonderful as well. Bed was comfy and I slept well and felt right at home. Great gated area safe and close to many places to eat and have drinks. I would recommend this with 5 stars.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I have stayed here a number of times and I always enjoy it. Location is perfect and the unit is charming.

This apartment has great sun and is six minutes walk from the waterfall. It’s very very clean. I really liked the apartment very much. Very comfy king sized bed. Tons of storage. Big double glass door to a small but usable patio. Gorgeous sunsets. Restaurants are good. It’s around the corner from Le Petit Croissant which is on par with Paris bakeries and has a Paris-trained chef. Quiches and croissants made from scratch. The laundry has a huge top loading washing machine and dryer. The kitchen lighting is depressing cold blue LED. The air conditioning/ heating is strangely loud constantly. The kettle has no auto cut off and therefore potentially dangerous, but these things are minor given its situation and other pluses. When you arrive, use the ARROWS on the touch pad to locate the apartment number. It took me and I found out also my neighbors to figure that out. I will stay there again. Thanks.

As an Arkansas alum, this place was the PERFECT location. Right next to all my old favorite spots, and I loved that I could walk to anything I needed. The space was also very clean and newly updated, which helped me feel comfortable and relaxed. I would stay here again if I’m ever back in town!

This was such a charming apartment! I was unlucky with the weather, but it was great to come home to a warm and cozy apartment. Everything I needed was close by and convenient--groceries, the metro, Eastern Market, and all my business contacts. I loved the neighborhood and would definitely stay here again, if I get the chance! Thank you for sharing your lovely home with me!

I am a single, middle aged lady so I felt a little nervous about going to a budget (too good to be true) motel/lodging. How they advertised themselves was true however - and they were helpful, responsive, clean, and unbelievably inexpensive. I'll be back the next time I'm in town for sure.
