“Joey is a gifted host in his ability to make a connection with his guests. Paul was away so we did not get thank the other half! Our stay was filled with special experiences; a beautiful home in a stunning setting, Joey's original artwork adorning the walls, a comfortable and clean room, and a deliciously and thoughtfully unique breakfast accompanied by wonderful conversation. This was a very special stay for us with a gracious host.”
This newly built one story contemporary home has plenty of natural light. With a 16' floor to ceiling window wall you will be able to enjoy plenty of sunlight. Situated on a private lane with complete privacy from the few neighboring homes you can enjoy the peace and quiet of nature with the city only 15 minutes away. The interior of the home is a true open concept design with a wood stove in the living room/kitchen(use subject to permission from host).
“A beautiful spot to stay. Private and quiet, but not secluded, so you still have easy access to the city (20 mins drive) and enough restaurants/convenience stores nearby for anything you might need. A nice modern property, very clean, plenty of room, and a beautiful fireplace. I'd love to stay here again.”
Cozy Lakeside Bungalow. Enjoy the beautiful views of Lake Echo while being only a short drive to the city.
“Hands-down one of the best places we've ever stayed at. Would return in a heartbeat. Extremely clean, spacious, and well renovated/remodeled with everything aligned. Douglas trusted us enough to use our good judgment that no written notes were needed to tell visitors how to operate a TV or a machine. Everything simply worked. Massive beautiful calm lake in the backyard, with your own pier. Douglas kindly allowed us to use his kayak, paddleboat, lifejackets, and other related amenities that were surprisingly provided, including bug spray and sun lotion. His neighbors are also very friendly and welcoming. It was really easy to find the house from the road. The house is conveniently located about 25 mins away from downtown Halifax (with a CA $1 cash bridge toll each way), and great food establishments and stores within a 10-15 min driving distance. Even the roads between the airport and house were very smooth, clean, and well maintained, with gentle curves, rolling hills, and great views in the background. Even better when you drive during sunrise or sunset on a clear day. Douglas provided a laundry basket, an efficient washer/dryer with all the materials needed for doing laundry. There were some food items in the dry pantry, hot sauce in the fridge and essentially a fully functional kitchen. The open concept of the living room and kitchen worked well, and we were able to watch Netflix on the Roku by logging into our own account. Our group of four loved staying at Douglas' place and would happily return!”
