“Although it seems that it may be far from everything ... On the contrary, it is in an area near almost everything. We especially liked the surroundings, for the tranquility and peace of the place, for the good views, and how green everything is around. The apartment is a super cozy individual house, with what is necessary for cooking and with a barbecue and covered porch to have pleasant evenings. The host doesn't even see it, but it's for what you need when you need something.”

“In Gran Canaria there are not many fluent English speakers and You may have even trouble with ordering food when not in tourist places. Firstly, Pilar english is great and that helps a lot in first day or two. She gave us valuable tips where to eat, where to go and what to see. Secondly, loft itself is private, clean and in good conditions. Hot tub worked well and it was blessing in December chill nights. Thirdly, area is beautiful, with lots of different restaurants and interesting streets around big church. In December it was around 5 degrees colder than it is in Maspalomas (south). That means if You want sun during winter, then better have a rental car or be really good with public transportation. It took us around 35min drive to main beaches with a rental. Its about 15km to the island capital, but we didn't feel the big city as much as mountain roads and beaches.”
The house is near the Villa de Santa Brigida, with its marketplaces full of typical local food specialties, from friday evening to sunday morning. The gastronomic offer is very diverse and the views of Gran Canaria´s mountain summits and its sunsets are breathtaking. You will love the place, as you will be able to enjoy the view of the island´s mid-altitude areas an the peace and quietness of its surroundings. This accommodation is great for couples.
“We love staying at Casa de Coco - this six-night stay was our second visit. The property has a really homely feel, is very comfortable and is full of paintings, books and Canarian artefacts - it’s like staying in a light and airy art gallery crossed with a library! It’s spotlessly clean & equipped with everything you could need for a comfortable stay in the area (including local walking books, tourist info, natural history books on the Canary Islands etc). Tito is a delightful, friendly host (as well as being the painter of some of the pictures in the house!) and it feels a privilege to stay in his family home - in fact, I have become fond of his mother & late father even though I’ve never met them :-) We love the big bay window in the spacious living area with its fabulous view across the valley to Sta Brigida. There are three separate seating areas depending on what mood you are in, and although on this trip we didn’t use the wood burning stove, on our last visit (in January 2017) we really enjoyed some cosy evenings beside it. The garden is a great asset for us - a private, sheltered sun trap, with an interesting collection of artistic, quirky items - shells, rocks, pebbles, hand-turned containers, potted plants. There are tables, chairs, parasol and sun loungers as well as a sun room with conservatory furniture. The charming town of Santa Brigida with attractive architecture in the old town is a ten minute drive and has a couple of smallish supermarkets, a weekend veg market and some nice restaurants & gift shops, as well as some lovely bronze statues of a pair of children in the square by the church, who we always like to visit! The only downside to the house, which Tito has little control over, was the daily yapping of the neighbour’s dog, which I think may suffer from separation anxiety! It was a bit annoying at times but it wasn’t continuous! We are very much looking forward to our next visit to our home-away-from-home, and thank Tito for his kindness.”
