Family-friendly holiday rentals in Province of Verbano-Cusio-Ossola

We travel a lot internationally. This place was one of the most beautiful places we have stayed. Monika and her staff work extremely hard to make it that way. Lake Orta was very intimate and fun to swim in.

The home was very welcoming, clean, and beautifully rustic. The house is in a quiet location with a lovely view of the lake, and the directions we were given allowed to get there with no problem. Also, we were greeted by fresh eggs, juice, sweets, sparkling wine and other gifts at the place, which is very nice and commendable. Any recommendations for this place if you want a quiet and enjoyable vacation, we felt right at home.

We enjoyed our stay despite bad weather. Especially with children who like to be outside, the property is very suitable. Thank you Andrea.

We had a truly wonderful stay in Ranco! The house was spotless, beautifully decorated, and had everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing visit. The kitchen was fully equipped, which was greatly appreciated by those of us culinarily gifted. The view of the lake was absolutely stunning, and waking up to that every morning was a dream. Sebastiano was a fantastic host. Always welcoming, responsive, and full of great local recommendations that made our trip even more special. Ranco is a peaceful gem on Lake Maggiore, and this place is perfect for anyone looking to unwind and enjoy the natural beauty of the area. We would love to come back someday. Thank you, Sebastiano!

more than cozy house: we were in 6 adults plus 1 child and 1 infant but it would also be great for 8 +2 children; large, spacious and bright house with attached and private gusrdino; the owners welcomed us with cordiality and friendship; top as a place for those who love mountain walks.

Excellent accommodation in a very quiet village but really close to many tourist attractions. The apartment is modern, spacious and comfortable, and Franco is very responsive and dynamic. We had a particularly successful week in Montrigiasco, with in addition... generous sun and beautiful fall colors!!!

We had a lovely stay. The apartment is very nice and perfect for 2. The garden is stunning and was lovely to drink tea on a chair overlooking the lake. The dog loved the place is it’s very serene and we had room to play frisbee And the path that you can walk on in the woods is right next to the house so that was very practical. The water has a very weird taste so unfortunately we had to buy plastic water bottles. We got lost trying to find the place and google maps was not being very helpful. I wish there was a warning that the tiny road that leads to the house was not suited for a big car and it was very stressful driving in and out of the property especially at night when I couldn’t see the sides of the walls the car was brushing up against. We also needed a flash light because the parking is not on the property and it was pitch black to walk on the path to the house on a rocky and muddy terrain.

Charming quiet house on the mountain. Rosa and Corrado were very welcoming! We are traveling with our dog (bowl and treats for her on arrival) and the accommodation was very convenient with the walled garden. Miazzina is a charming village well located for hikes and 20 minutes from the lake. In addition, the view from the balcony is breathtaking!

Great house that fully matched the descriptions. The house is nicely decorated and there was nothing missing. The location in the mountains is fantastically several hours of hikes from the house. Janine is the contact person on site and is (German speaking) with advice. The bread roll service Janine is also very nice if needed.

This is the perfect place for a quiet getaway. The island empties out in the evening and it is easy to imagine what it may have been like to leave here centuries ago. The apartment is clean and well furnished, very comfortable. Stairs in the apartment are steep and narrow but easy to use with those with typical abilities. Our stay here will always be a highlight for us.

Very nice apartment, small but intelligently arranged on three levels, suitable for a couple with a child of school age and tastefully furnished. Even on winter days of discreet cold, the accommodation was very warm. Easy check-in and checkout with good flexibility from the host. Great cleanliness. Parking space practically one minute from the house. Enviable location, the apartment is in fact in a very quiet alley, but it remains a few dozen meters from the center of Santa Maria Maggiore and therefore also from shops, restaurants, etc. Thank you Wally, recommended stay!

If you’ve stumbled upon this gem, count yourself lucky! All of Alessandra’s airbnbs are beautifully designed with natural materials that echo the natural landscape. Alessandra is a warm and generous host. Pro tip: definitely take advantage of he sauna setup. I scheduled it on a cloudy/rainy day and it was an absolute dream of a treat. I will be back (and will prob stay in her larger unit next trip)!

The house is in a perfect, quiet location, close to many walks, on foot you can reach many really nice places like the horrors. The interior of the house, all made of wood, is very nice. If you love tranquility, it is the perfect place. I needed Alberto for information and he was ready and accurate. We had a quiet and very relaxing vacation. Highly recommended.

Franco was very communicative and the place was great.

Very nice place even in autumn. The view is wonderful and in the woods you can take nice walks on the nearby trails. The house is as described, as well as being clean and well equipped. Cesare was a courteous and hospitable host. The last stretch of road is a dirt road, but doable. A wonderful place to relax in nature.

Our warmest recommendations from here. An absolutely amazing place in quiet and beautiful surroundings. The apartment is lovely and has the most amazing view of the lake. Easy access to lake and activities and just a short walk along the lake to Mergozzo. Our kids were also very excited about the clean and delicious pools. We met an incredibly warm and welcoming host couple and can only recommend staying here. There are absolutely no minuses.

The flat benefits from the great View! The interior is nice, but overall cleaningness could be better (flooring, spider webs, kitchen). I would come again and hope the points will be taken up.

Me and my family loved the place, recomended for a stay with childrens, the place its very well equipped and has everything handy. We had a great time in Domus Cusiana! The place is cool in summer and the bedroom is large. The terrace is large, we were able to have a good time there with a beautiful view. The pool is very nice, accessible and available at all hours. In addition, the other residents are very welcoming, generous and were committed to creating moments of beautiful conviviality! We'll be happy to go back! PS: You have to remember to bring everything you need for the apartment (oil, salt, sponges, toilet paper, bags, etc.)

We (couple) are repeat offenders and always happy to be at Casa Roselli. We arrive and feel at home. Monika is an incredibly nice hostess. The amenities in the house are exceptionally good and commendable and everything is always taken care of in and around the house. The pool and garden are also great. All in all, an extraordinary spot on earth and a small island of bliss! Thanks for the nice vacation.

Luciana was a very friendly host, easy to contact en very quick to respond. She made us feel at home and we will definitely rent her apartment again if we are back in the neighbourhood.

We traveled with five grown-ups and a 1,5 yo toddler. Owners of the place, Fiona and Giordano were very helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. Prior arriving Giordano called personally and made sure we found the place alright. We had the entire attic floor at our disposal with a spectacular view to the lake. The owners made sure we had our privacy but were also available if we needed anything. We had so much fun during the stay, can recommend!
