Scott School Cottage Stay at Scott School

Scott School was a Campbell County one-room school from 1905 to 1928. In 2010, Scott School was renovated and serves as a lovely tea room and quiet location for guests. The cottage is complete with two bedrooms (one twin, one full), central HVAC, full kitchen, and televisions. Points of interest nearby are: Red Hill-last home and burial place of Patrick Henry (5 miles), University of Lynchburg (30 miles), Liberty University (25 miles), Randolph College (30 miles), and Appomattox (22 miles).

Wineries, orchards, and hiking nearby. Friendly dogs may occasionally visit from my mother’s house next door. This charming rustic cabin is located at Hat Creek Camp, a 350+ acre camp with over 7 miles of hiking trails and two lakes. The cabin has three rooms, a bedroom, bathroom, and common space/kitchen. The kitchen includes a stove, fridge, blender, coffee maker, and microwave. The bedroom has a Queen bed, and the bathroom has a spacious shower. This cabin is small but very personable, around the camp it is affectionately known as The Pickle. Perfect for quiet getaways in the country.

Heron Hill 49 is a place for people who want to unplug, get away, and appreciate the quiet of country life. It’s an ideal space to relax or to work without distractions. Fiber optic internet is provided; cell service is limited. (We recommend wi-fi calling.) Guests will enjoy walking the property, following Spring Creek, and exploring the remains of an old, hand-built stone dam in the woods. Birdwatchers will find an abundance of species.
