Old forge

A warm welcome to our 130-year-old half-timbered house at the foot of the Wartburg Castle! Once used as a smithy, it now offers a family-friendly holiday apartment with a full range of amenities. It is centrally located in Eisenach, with short distances to the town centre, shopping facilities, tourist attractions and the unique natural beauty of the Thuringian Forest! Our children's room is located directly above the holiday apartment. We do our best, but some noise may still be audible.

The spacious 80 m² apartment with 2 to 7 beds in our lovingly renovated half-timbered house above the rooftops of Ziegenhagen invites you to linger and relax. On the balcony, you can enjoy wonderful views over the forests. The imposing half-timbered house accommodates 12 nice people in 3 generations for many good conversations. Likewise, my catering, from which you can also have a delicious meal from time to time. In our foyer there is a library for lounging on cozy sofas.

It is particularly suitable for all those travelers who want to explore the city center and the surrounding area with or without a car. Whether on foot, by bicycle, public transport, car or a combination of these options, the Erfurt adventure starts here. You want to admire the well-known churches “Erfurter Cathedral” and “Severikirche” from the window of your apartment? A breeze!

Just like the train station and sights such as the castle, the Natural History Museum is all within minutes walking. It has a separate entrance only for our guests. Enjoy the lovely setting of this romantic spot in nature. Small, fine apartment offers everything the vacationer's heart desires for 2 people. A separate entrance and a private terrace let you forget about everyday life. The apartment is fully equipped with private bathroom (shower, toilet), kitchenette, dining table, double bed and a small sofa. Seating furniture is available on the terrace and a fire bowl can be provided.

Our accommodation is located in the middle of Germany, close to Kassel and surrounded by nature. You will love it because of the heavenly tranquility, the gateway to the forest and yet only 20 km away from Kassel by car or tram. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, families (with kids), and big groups. Unless they are uncontrollable fighting dogs, animals are welcome to us and regularly feel very comfortable.

The large country-style apartment on two floors is equipped with many amenities, suitable for relaxing on the large loggia on the upper floor or the covered veranda in the entrance area. But also hikes in the beautiful Hessian mountains, bike tours or boat tours on the Fulda are worthwhile.

The furnishings include a large light-flooded room with a cozy living area and a kitchen with a seating area. The bedroom is a separate room. It is just a few minutes' walk to Anger or Domplatz. A tram stop is also very close.
