Bethel Holiday Rentals

Just booked in Bethel

This rustic and simple one-room cabin was built around 1902 and was used as a fishing camp. We've taken it out of the deep woods and relocated it where it now overlooks the south side of our 12 acre pond. It is now outfitted with electricity, wood stove and there is ample kitchen and counter space with propane stove and double sink. As of this summer there is running drinking water in the cabin now and a hot water heater! A sweet little outdoor shower out back is for your pleasure as well. The driveway is 2.6 miles long and is a maintained but sometimes pretty rugged dirt road. Four-wheel drive is not necessary in the summer time. There is an outhouse about 125 ft or so from the cabin. Shower and flush toilets are available in my house, which is just down the lane (about 200ft away). There is also an outdoor shower behind the cabin now too! The pond is great for swimming and boating. We have a flat bottomed row boat and canoe for you to use while you're here. An aqua-zip line is available for those with a sense of adventure. Please take note that we allow fly fishing only with barbless hooks. A small market garden and greenhouse are in operation nearby and there are three other houses on our part of the mountain, all on our property. It is never very busy or loud, but there may, once in a while, be other people enjoying the pond, beach and boa I do just want to mention that the cabin is deep in the woods up a mountain, and hosts all the wilds have to offer. You may have glimpses of moose and mouse, frogs and flies; by the nature of living here we play host to them all. In the interest of full disclosure, I want you to know so that you are aware that critters are here in our area and sometimes in our living spaces. Just about everyone has embraced them so far but some who have not ventured in the woods before have become surprised to see a mouse which made them uncomfortable to be around. Please be the judge on this for your own creature comfort! WINTER IN THE CABIN You will need to keep your own fire in the wood stove going to keep the cabin cozy. I can provide instruction if you are unfamiliar. Water is provided in two 4 gal jugs for washing up and will need to be heated on the stove or in the electric kettle. If you need more, you can refil the jugs in my house. Please think of staying here as a rustic, off-the-beaten path retreat. Winter driving experience on icy and snowy roads is a plus as the conditions and weather varies considerably! 4-wheel drive is a must in the winter. This piece of Earth is a beautiful place for people to relax and play, and that is why I'd like to share this space with you. Come for a weekend, or come for a while.
  • WOW! Let me say, this was our first time booking through AirBnB and Anna has set the bar pretty high! In some ways, literally - Anna's father is a civil engineer who builds ziplines for fun - one of which is nearly a mile long! We didn't know about the long zipline before our visit, and were very eager to try it out. It was amazing! How can I describe this experience in so few words? This is the most idyllic place I've ever stayed in. It's the kind of place you can search for for years and never find. Anna and her family live nearby, but they definitely give you the space and privacy you want. By our first day we were already planning our return trip. I'm not a morning person at all, but staying at Anna's cabin for a few days I was inclined every morning to get up at 5 and go canoeing, go out for a hike, or just have a cup of coffee on the dock and watch the beavers go out for their morning swim on the pond. As a kid, my family traveled to Maine a few times, mostly to the coast, and mostly camping. It was fun as a kid, but it was way too densely packed and touristy. This cabin offers what I really want out of a Maine vacation: no crowded beaches, no gross campground showers, no tacky lobster post cards, just a quiet pond, a refreshing private outdoor shower, and a little spot in the middle of the woods we were so lucky to call home for a short time. Over five short days I can't count the number of times we really considered moving to this corner of Maine.

  • Everything we had hoped for and more!

    greg2014-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • Truly an unbelievable experience, place to stay, and host. Best AirBnB ever! We arrived in the middle of a pretty serious snowstorm, but Anna and I had spoken earlier on the phone and we had discussed the importance of a 4wd vehicle to get up her roads in a (URL HIDDEN) my wife and I made it up without any issue in my Subaru Outback. Even just their "driveway" is truly beautiful, as it meanders along a mountain stream. The cabin was covered in a fresh 8" of snow and Anna had the fire built in the wood stove for us, all we needed to do was start the fire. What an amazingly thoughtful host. The cabin was picturesque, rustic in all the right ways, and just perfect for a few days of R&R. We kept the wood stove going the entire time we were home, and although it got down to 9 degrees one night, we were totally cozy the whole time. The view across the lake and up the mountain never ceased to be exciting....and I say this as someone who lives in a beautiful spot in Maine just 1.5 hours away from here. Anna was beyond friendly and welcoming, and drew us a map for great trails nearby. We climbed to the top of one of the mountains on a ribbon trail, and the views from the top were fantastic...staring right at Sunday River. One night we just walked down a couple of miles of their driveway/private roads, and even that was a great little walk/hike. Everything hear just oozed character, fun, and life. Gardens, sheep, goats, chickens, ziplines (yes, ziplines), an outhouse that you had to cross 2 bridges to get to, and all sorts of other great things. You really get the feeling that a whole lot of fun and laughter has occurred on this land. Lastly, Anna is also an immensely talented pasty chef, so upon our request, she baked a pie for us for Thanksgiving dinner, which we cooked in the oven in the cabin. It was probably the best pie I've ever eaten. She also does a lot of organic farming and local-sourcing of delicious foods, so she also had us pretty well stocked when we arrived, and I just let her know what kinds of things we'd want in advance. Seriously...what more could you want from a host? Not much else to say. Anna is the best. This cabin is the best. We WILL be back. Thanks Anna!

    Jeff2014-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • Ditto! Ditto! Ditto to all the high praise and appreciation expressed by other guests of Anna. The cabin, the land, the views, the hosts, and awaiting adventures were (are!) lovely in every way. Lucky me had a full moon to enjoy on my first night into Thanksgiving, a hike to the ledges of Bean Mountain where I could see for miles, and a breakfast featuring fresh eggs from Anna's chickens. It was really hard to leave, and yep - can hardly wait to go back (and try out that rope swing!). Simply awesome.

    amy2015-11-28T00:00:00Z
  • Ana and her Dad have created a unique and special place. The cabin is the real deal-cozy with a lot of rustic charm and everything you need to have an enjoyable stay. If the opportunity presents itself, do the zip line from the top of the mountain-an amazing and thrilling experience. Thank you Ana and Jim for going out of your way to make our stay enjoyable.

    Patti 2017-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Second time here and we had a great time again!

    greg2014-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • We spent 3 days there and it was amazing. Anna is very nice and the cabin is rustic but comfortable. We loved the lac in front of the cabin and our little beach. You can also visit a lot of stuff in the country around the cabin. Thank you again Anna !

    Frederic 2014-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Anna's cabin is such a magical and peaceful escape! Nestled in the woods of Maine, the possibilities for activities are endless. From hiking right from the cabin's front door, to a quiet lunch out in the canoe on the pond, the list goes on and on. Anna and her Father were warm and gracious. They welcomed us to the cabin and told us to make ourselves at home. The cabin itself was rustic and quaint. Just what we were looking for, a cabin in the middle of the woods. It had everything you could possibly need including a map of the grounds for you to explore. If there was something you needed, Anna was eager to help. Overall, we will definitely be back again! It was a great airbnb escape!

The home has tons of perks and plenty of room to relax. The kitchen is a "cook's" kitchen and fun to work in. All in all, I couldn't recommend The Bingham House more.

Really nice to have a place to relax after a long day on the mountain. We are looking forward to our next trip to stay at Scott's place, he's a great host!

    Kate2017-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • Clean, cozy space. Walking distance to great restaurants and 15 minutes door-door to Sunday River. Very responsive host. I would request this again for an extended stay in the area.

  • Walking distance to town, a great place for a Gould reunion. This place is great! Homey, comfortable, and just situated away from the lights of town enough to see a gazillion stars. Oh, and the beds are wicked comfortable!

  • Scott's apartment was just as described and very pleasant for a weekend stay. Great of access to the area, walking distance to stores and restaurants. thanks Scott

  • Great home. Small but comfortable. Host was accommodating with prompt responses and detailed instructions. Home is as pictured. Furniture especially the beds are very comfortable. No bathtub but small shower met our needs. Perfect for a couple or small family. Nicely decorated. Clean with no strange odors. close to downtown bethel shops and restaurants. 10-15 min drive to Mt.Abram or Sunday River.

    Alysha2017-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • This is a super place to stay. It is comfortable, clean, simple and charming. I really appreciate the good bed linens and towels. That makes a basic place feel special as does the colorful decor. Well done, priced fairly. The host is very attentive.

    Bernard2017-04-03T00:00:00Z
  • Scott's place is well-located, clean, spacious, and has some beautiful decor!! The bed in the master bedroom is riDICulously comfortable (we didn't use the other two). Very central to Bethel's best restaurants, cafes, and shopping. Almost walkable, but we were glad to have a car so we could drive to Grafton State Park, Sunday River Brewery, the nearby Laundromat, and the Local Hub (best wifi in town and nice grocery store). Have a bagel at DiCocoas!! Scott was accommodating and communicative. Only problem was I have T-Mobile, so I had some trouble getting his texts. If you're in that boat, I recommend getting some sort of temp phone or plan for your trip to Maine!

This is a "Bunk Room". It' a shared space for up to three people. This listing is just for one of the beds. We cannot provide information on who your bunk mates will be before arrival. It's just like an AMC Hut except maybe a little less smelly!
This bedroom has two large windows giving it lots of light and views of the beautiful mountain sunrises. This room can accommodate up to five people but will typically be set up for four. It's color is light blue and the walls are made of plaster from the original construction. Our name, "Heartwood Hostel", comes from the Heartwood Pine trim decorating most of the house. These beds are bunk beds and are acquired on a first come first serve basis. Please be specific if you need a top or bottom bunk and I may be able to accommodate your request. I do have one single twin bed available in this room. We are new to this home and will be doing improvements and adding touches. We will be looking for better items all the time.
We are located a short five minute walk to Bethel's lovely Main Street. Cafe Dicocoa's is located right on the corner of Vernon St. and Main Street. Cafe Dicocoa offers Larry's Beans coffee, homemade pastries (bagels, croissants, cookies, scones...), egg sandwiches, soups, and other veggie fair. On Wednesdays they host a farmers market and on some weekends they offer dinners in the house next door. Bethel also has a grocery store, post office, hardware store, many other bars and resturarnts, and a variety of other shopping opportunities. Oh yeah and our movie theater is reopening and being run by friends of ours. "The Gem" Skiing: Mt. Abrams, Sunday River, Bethel Inn XC and more... Yoga Classes: Every Body Yoga Barre (find them on facebook)
  • Lyndsey and Bryon were excellent hosts. The room was exactly as advertised in a very cool old farmhouse. I stayed here for a few nights while skiing at Sunday River and would certainly recommend to anyone looking for the same.

    Nick2016-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Yes the listing was accurate and the very clean farmhouse was a delight as was the chat with Lindsey. I could adopt her. Shes a hard worker. Very friendly and I very much enjoyed our time together. One of the best homes e hosts ever.

    diane2016-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing value place perfect for the white mountains or on the way to the coast of Maine. Lyndsey and Bryon are really nice hosts and the town seems really relaxed and welcoming. The house is really cool and very quiet and has a very homely feel to it. Highly recommended.

    andy2017-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • Lindsay has manifest a wonderful space. The home is clean, organized, and walking distance to Main Street Bethel. She went above and beyond the normal host duties. She retrieved and returned me (and several other guests) to Sunday River for the start of the 3-day 180-mile Trek Across Maine bike ride. By picking me up and dropping me off she removed a key logistical issue for me. I stayed in the bunk room, which is as described although one of the bunks is several inches wider, which was nice because I got it. My bunk mates and I would have liked to open the window, but it was not feasible, so we slept with doors open and the ceiling fan on. It was comfortable. The next morning at 5:30 she made coffee and several of the guests and I hung with her and got to know more about her background and passions. I would recommend and seek out this wonderful home, again.

    Bryan2016-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • It was a great experience. The room was cozy and very comfortable!

    Seung2016-02-17T00:00:00Z

  • I unfortunately did not end up making it out to Bethel because I was attending school in Bridgeton and Bethel was just unexpectedly too far north. Lyndsey was great to communicate with though, very laid back and caring!

  • Susan and Kate were amazing hosts! They were attentive, welcoming and very hospitable. They even shared their knowledge of a nearby hiking trail to the beautiful Mica cave that had a stunning view of the foliage filled landscape. The house was huge and had so much charm. My favorite thing about it was definitely the huge bathtub in the upstairs master bedroom. I highly recommend staying here with these wonderful people. - Dahiana O

  • We loved our stay at the Paws Inn. The room was neat and clean and just what we needed for a quick ski getaway with our dog. Carol makes a wonderful breakfast and takes great care of all of her visitors both four legged and two.

    Joe2017-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • Carol was very welcoming and friendly, to us and to our ten month old pup. She has extensive B&B experience prior to airbnb and it shows in the details and in the way she is organized. Hot breakfast! The room was on the second floor and had a well stocked private bath. Carol also put us in touch with a local mechanic when we thought we had a car problem, and thankfully he gave an honest diagnosis - no repairs needed!

    Donald2016-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • The sign out of Carol's place "You must love dogs," is so true in the best ways! Our pup Merlin was well taken care of during his time there, and we met other friendly dog pals as well. Yet even with a pack of canine friends, our room was clean and beautifully kept in a quaint New England style. We were very comfortable throughout our two night stay there. If you are traveling with your canine companion, or just love dogs, this is definitely the place to stay.

    Sarah2017-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect stay. Country style living in this warm, safe comfortable home charmingly managed by Carol your host. Carol was more than accommodating. Really makes you feel right at home. Great breakfast and the location could not be better.

    Mark2017-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • Carol is so friendly and helpful, and her place is quite charming. Our room was large, lovely and quiet. The breakfast was delicious - fruit, sweet bread and an egg dish each morning. We also enjoyed the fridge full of drinks, access to the Kurig with lots of options for hot drinks, and a table full of snacks, all available 24 hours a day. And there were lots of sweet doggy guests. This was the perfect place to stay for pet lovers!

    Jane2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Carol was a gracious host with no hesitation to provide us some recommendations for dinner. Her dog, Kip, is really sweet and we enjoyed getting to meet him. Carol also provides a delicious breakfast that you can't pass up.

  • My wife and I made a last minute weekend trip to SR to hit the slopes. We like staying close to the mountain, and Carol's place is minutes away. When we arrived she wasn't there but left us detailed instructions on how to get to our room, which was spacious and had everything we needed. Electric fireplace was great to dry our gear any keep us warm. Breakfast was delicious! We loved the company of her dog and cats, and we will definitely be back.

  • We (and our cats) had a wonderful time at our stay at Paws Inn. Carol, our human host, Kip, our canine host, and Stella, our feline host, were all warm and welcoming. Carol went out of her way to be sure we enjoyed our stay, even making our kitties a catnip toy and sending us home with cat grass and extra catnip! Our room was lovely, the breakfasts were delicious, and the area is beautiful. We will definitely be back, and we highly recommend Paws Inn!

It was great to find a place where I could easily bring my dog (I brought her dog bed with us). The bed was comfortable, and the living room ceiling is so high! Very spacious unit. We ate at Cafe di Cocoa in the morning, which was nearby and awesome :) Such a nice location right on the park!

    Zach2017-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at Regina's lovely loft. It was the perfect location and quite homey! We wish we could have stayed longer than just one night but hopefully we will be back up soon.

    Hollen2016-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I had a wonderful weekend stay at Regina's loft. As a host, she made all instructions clear and we had we had no trouble finding our way. The apartment is extremely cozy, clean, conveniently located and easily walkable. My favorites from downtown include the Mineral & Gem Museum (still under construction) and Cafe DiCocoa (amazing homemade breads and cake). Regina's place is also close by some amazing hiking trails. The area is surrounded by gorgeous mountain views, driving around alone felt like a retreat. Overall, an positively lovely stay that we'd be happy to repeat.

The Hill House is a cozy, handcrafted cabin, designed for a comfortable stay especially for leaf peepers. Adjacent to Mt. Abram with woods out the back door and a spring brook beside the house. Sleeps 5, full kitchen, fast internet, peacefully quiet. Looking for cool? Open the windows for chill mountain breezes. Looking for cozy? On windy days, the house is SO free of drafts any steam from your hot cocoa will be lazy. Lots of local trails and ponds to explore. See why Hill House is top rated!
This handcrafted cabin offers a woodsy Maine setting, inside and out. Located at the base of Mt. Abram, the cabin has woods stretching to Mt. Abram outback. The drive is less than 1 mile to the Locke Mills Lakes boat launch for South Pond and North Pond with easy kayak/canoe rentals ($5 per hour), and just 6 miles to Bethel and 15 minutes to Sunday River. While you are a guest, we hope you feel at home in the Hill House. We prefer to allow guests to have private time at the house. Guests can check-in and out independently, and directions will be provided when a reservation is confirmed. The Hill House is comfortable, cozy and charming. The main floor has pine walls and flooring, with peaceful views of the woods, and a babbling brook (during spring and after rains) is within earshot. The main floor is open concept. The house feels private, with a view of woods behind the house. The second floor has a master bedroom with a queen bed, and the second larger "dorm" room has another sitting area with TV/DVD/streaming. The dorm room has a twin trundle bed (two twin beds or can be converted to a king sized bed) and single pull-out couch bed, providing sleeping for three more guests. Fresh eggs will be delivered upon request. (complimentary) The house is knotty pine on the first floor. On demand hot water. Spiffy kitchen. Fast internet. Quiet. The Hill House is on Howe Hill Road, and our guests often remark that once inside the Hill House it feels private and quiet. All of the windows in the living spaces face the sides and back of the house, which are wooded areas with a family farm next door. The Greenwood area is ideal for the outdoor enthusiast. The house is within close walking distance to the Main Lodge of Mt. Abram (adjacent, really) with wonderful hikes or walks. At the base of Howe Hill Road (1 mile), the Hub has hourly rentals of kayaks and canoes for exploring South Pond and North Ponds in Greenwood. Great for swimming, fishing, looking for frogs and lazy days. For a listing of lovely hikes and challenging hikes in the area go to: (URL HIDDEN) Greenwood has easy access to the three lakes of Locke Mills: Round Pond, North Pond and South Pond...the three lakes are all connected for delightful exploring by water or easy explorations by road. A public boat access is less than one mile down the hill from the Hill House and canoe/kayak rentals are available at the Local Hub. A summer public swimming beach on the pond is minutes away. The Androscoggin River is five minutes away, with riverside walking trails and stretches of river with public access for kayaking or canoeing. Many adventures can be accessed through the Bethel, Maine website: rockhounding at a sluice and mineral mine, fat bike and mountain bike rentals, fishing, horseback riding, golf...spa treatments. At Sunday River in the summer, there is LOTS of action: zip-lining, bike parks, LL Bean Schools. Howe Hill Road in Greenwood was the birthplace of Leon Leonwood Bean in 1872, and from this area you can roam in the same woods and waters where L.L. Bean learned his skills as a hunter, fisherman, and woodsman. Not interested in being outdoors? Drive minutes away to Bethel and explore the shops and restaurants while strolling Main Street. Bethel is the home of our national poet laureate, Richard Blanco, author of the inaugural poem "One Day." You can take a short hike to the trail named "One Day" at the base of Mt. Abram. North Conway is a 60 minute drive, with a mecca of shops. The White Mountains, Mt. Washington, Santa's Village, and endless adventures are all within one hour away.
  • This house was great! It was clean, easy to find, and in a great location for hiking and being outside. Great spot for a weekend or night away.

  • Eliza's Hill House was a perfect place to relax for an evening on our trip through Maine. It was clean and the listing is accurate. Checkin was easy and Eliza was very responsive. She even had fresh eggs from the neighbors chickens waiting for us when we arrived.

    Dan2016-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • It was a cute place and comfortable! No air conditioning, however she had plenty of fans to keep you comfortable in the heat. She left us fresh eggs and chocolates :) She was also very responsive with any questions we had! Great place to stay!

  • The cabin was very clean and cozy, with just about everything needed to make for a comfortable stay. It was obvious that the host has though things out well, to provide for their guest's needs. The fresh eggs in the fridge were a nice touch

    Greg2016-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • Eliza is a wonderful host! The cabin is cozy, well-furnished, and clean. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a quiet spot to stay.

  • Happy to the 50th 5 star review for the Hill House and Eliza Jane as a host - very well deserved! First time we used airbnb, and couldn't be happier. Going to Sunday River to ski we always stayed on the mountain. We decided to give up the ski/in ski out option for a much more homey and comfortable experience, and everyone in our family loved it. Eliza was very nice, welcoming and responsive, and the fresh eggs that Eliza left for us, were a real treat. We were pleasantly surprised to get a note from Eliza on Sunday, offering us to check out after we were done skiing if we wanted, which made for a very relaxing morning, and allowed us to hit the slopes earlier. We also found that loading and unloading the car was much easier than most condos we used on the mountain. The house is steps away from the Loose Boot at Mt Abram, a great family friendly place to have dinner and beer after a long day. Thank you for everything Eliza. We are definitely coming back!

  • This is a cozy place to relax in the mountains. Spotless, comfortable, snug. Highly recommend for anyone looking for R&R in western maine. Great hikes nearby, and close to picturesque bethel for restaurants ( even great Korean food!) etc if needed.

  • This house is fabulous! Right at the base of Mt. Abrams, 15 minutes from the slopes at Sunday River. Really cute and comfortable. The pellet stove heats up the house in a flash. Communication and directions were great. These owners clearly take great pride in this home! Thanks for a great stay.

    Jason2017-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Really awesome cabin and location. The pictures don't even do it justice! My friends and I went up to snowboard Sunday River for the weekend and could not have been happier. The cabin is located 3 minutes away from the mountain and there is even a shuttle at the end of the road that will take you there or into town at night. Everything was very clean and as described on the listing. I highly recommend staying here!

    Sam2017-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Overall nice place. Hot water heater was a little underwhelming and the driveway was one giant sheet of ice. All things considered I would stay here again. Close to the mountain.

  • Speros provided excellent information leading up to our stay to help us to be prepared for our trip and feel welcome upon our arrival. He was very accommodating. Excellent location that is accessible. Although it's a smaller space overall, the outdoor space is excellent and the indoor space creatively accommodates all your needs during the stay. We had an excellent weekend and would certainly look into staying here again!

    Joely2016-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • Great location! 5 min from the slopes. We had a larger group of adults and kids and there was plenty of room for all. Most all basics there at the house, country store less than 1 minute away for anything else. Enjoyed the hot tub every single day. The owner was quick to respond with any questions that came up. Would definitely recommend a staying here ️

  • Best place I have been through Airbnb so far

    Mubdu2017-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • A good time was had by all. It was a great place for snowshoeing and warming up by the fire after the cold. Considering we were planning to do a lot of cooking, there were a few things that would have been helpful to have such as measuring cups and a spatula. We really appreciated having access to the house snowshoes and playing board games.

    Maren2015-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • This was a wonderful place for me and myHusband to enjoy a weekend away and enjoy the Fall Foliage! If you have kids it's also ideal for a small family! Tons of hiking nearby, and the host are very communicative and ready to answer any questions. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay!

    Anna2017-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • Sheryl was a great host. She was very responsive to any questions we had. There was a complete guide book of places nearby to visit. The house was clean and a very nice welcome basket was on the counter waiting for us. The house was just far enough from town to have privacy but close enough within 5 minutes to get supplies. I recommend this to anyone and would certainly consider staying here again.

    Mark 2016-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • Cabin was perfect and in great condition! Sheryl does a great job with all the house instructions, making it such an easy process and the house had everything we needed. Driveway was plowed early in the morning on one of the nights we were there. Highly recommended!

    Mark2016-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • This was our third stay here! The house is nicer each time we visit! This visit we had a cold and rainy day, so we stayed inside and snuggled under blankets and watched the Wire! It was so fantastic and just what I needed. We feel so comfortable with the full kitchen, cozy living room, access to every sort of television/movie/media channel, and fenced in yard for the dog. We love, love, love cozy house. We even enjoyed the new baking dishes that were available. Thank you Sheryl!

    Alyce2016-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • Sheryl is a great host. We loved our long weekend at the cozy house. It was so relaxing not to have neighbors yet close to the village. Awesome little shops there. Our dog loved the fenced in yard and we had a great time by the camp fire. Lots of space inside, we loved the big kitchen and open living area. We would love to come back here again.

    Lauren2017-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely Maine experience

    Robert2016-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • The trip started out with a simple miscommunication that could have been solved quite easily. This immediately put me on Gloria's bad side which, according to her, you do NOT want to be on. Thought it was a little strange that she required photocopies of all the people staying. Just to get a key is a $65 deposit. Her hospitality was somewhere around a 4/10, mainly because the miscommunication but still no excuse. The place itself is spacious and clean which was nice but bring your own toilet paper and paper towels as only one roll is supplied for the duration of the stay. Also thermostat is locked and it gets very cold in the middle of the night. I'm sure if there was no miscommunication before we checked in, the stay would have been different (most likely better), however this was our experience.

    Chris2016-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • Gloria was a good host, very friendly and helpful, the house is in good driving distance from Bethel and Sunday river.

  • The house is superb clean, spacey and contains everything to enjoy vacation. Would stay again

    vlad2017-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing location, very close to the mountain. She wrote a lot of directions throughout the house to give guidelines for how she likes to keep the house. Only weird thing was that she blocked off the loft that was shown in the pictures and claimed that we didn't need it because we were only a couple staying. Which is understandable, just would have been nice to check it out up there a little because it was a cool hangout spot. Overall, she was a great host and made everything easy regarding check in and check out. Kitchen had everything you need to cook with which was a plus and bathroom had towels and plenty of toilet paper.

    Hannah2017-02-12T00:00:00Z

We loved being able to make dinner in the evenings and sit on the deck to look at the stars. We explored some nice hiking spots nearby and rented kayaks and a canoe at The Local Hub. All in all; a truly special Maine weekend. Thanks, Dan!

  • The chalet is in a central location for visiting various areas of Maine and not too far from the New Hampshire border. We were able to visit Portland and the Rangeley area without too much of a drive. The chalet is quaint and cutely decorated and also includes all the amenities you need for time away. Communication with Dan was easy and he was very quick to respond and offer any suggestions. Thanks for letting us stay and enjoy your chalet!

    Dewey2017-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Dan's ski cabin was perfect for our group of four. Very comfortable couches, and just as comfortable beds. Kitchen was sufficient to make in depth meals. Everyone was very happy with that! Easy keycode entry lets guests in without having to worry about who has the key. Washer and dryer were very useful for drying gear after a day on the mountain. The drive to sunday river was short enough that we were able to come back and cook lunch. Will definitely not hesitate to stay again when in the area. Thanks Dan!

  • Dan's chalet was the perfect spot for an ideal vacation skiing or otherwise. The house is comfortable and has everything you might need, and we enjoyed our stay so much we helped clean up quite a bit (as asked). Dan was great at communicating even though it was over the holidays and we'd highly recommend this listing if you're visiting Sunday River or Mt. Abrams.

    Drew2016-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • This AIRBNB was an extremely wonderful option for a ski vacation for my group of friends. We chose to ski at Sunday River (~20 miles away) but the cabin is also extremely close to Mt. Abram. The cabin itself was beautiful outside and located in a scenic neighborhood. Dan has done an excellent job ensuring that all necessary amenities are available - there is plenty of space to relax and sleep, and there are more than enough supplies for cooking and laundry. The 6 of us were initially a bit concerned about needing to share 1 bathroom, but we took turns and made it work - amazingly there was plenty of hot water for everyone to take comfortable showers. Dan was also a very friendly and communicative host, checking in frequently to ensure that we were having a nice and comfortable stay. Overall, I would highly recommend this AIRBNB!

Very clean and bright fully-equipped apartment just up the hill from the historic village of Bethel. Private bath and comfortable, real bed for two adults, plus a fold-out couch and chair for small children or teens. Plenty of privacy on your own deck surrounded by trees, lots of hot water in the shower/tub, and a flat-screen Direct TV to watch the Red Sox and an ipod dock to listen to your own tunes. An hour away from the ocean and in the middle of the best leaf-peeping in the northeast, not to mention the fine dining at the many village inns. Our street Paradise Road lives up to its name: quiet, tree-lined, and picturesque with beautiful views of the mountains with their numerous hiking trails. Come to fly fish, play golf, rent a canoe or kayak for the many rivers and ponds all around. We are also only a short distance from the Appalachian Trail where some of our guests have hiked it a section at a time.
  • Bruce made us feel very welcomed. Bruce gave us places to visit that was beautiful. The location in Bethel is accessible and outstanding. The apartment is very relaxed and comfortable. The bed is excellent with individual heaters on both sides. Breakfast food left in the fridge. Patio in back yard beautiful. Highly recommend.

    Brad2015-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • We had an absolutely perfect stay at Bruce and Victoria 's apartment. The welcome was warm and heartfelt and the fridge was stocked with eggs for breakfast. Bethel and its area are beautiful and the perfect place to base your outdoor adventures. The apartment itself is very spacious and even has a grill on the deck where we got to barbeque. Thanks for a lovely stay!

    Simone2014-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • Bruce and Victoria are awesome people, and I can not recommend staying with them highly enough. They are warm and welcoming, and have a great place for guests to stay on a beautiful piece of land a couple of minutes from "downtown" Bethel. I enjoyed staying here so much that I hesitate to leave an honest review, only because I hope to bring my family to stay here again in a few weeks. I would be disappointed to have to stay somewhere else due to Bruce's place being booked up.

    Benjamin2015-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • What a find! Bruce is a wonderful host and makes sure you have everything you need for a comfortable stay. The spacious apartment is in a peaceful (private) setting and conveniently located to downtown Bethel. When we arrived there was butter, juice, milk, eggs in the fridge as well as coffee, bread, and apples. In addition to a fully stocked kitchen (dishes, cookware, cutlery, spices, cooking oils), there was a kettle, coffee maker, and French press. The internet worked fine and if you wanted to take a break from the internet, there was a very nice selection of books and jazz CDs. Also, there was plenty of local information such as maps, guides, suggested driving itineraries and menus of local restaurants. We highly recommend staying here! Great hosts, great price, and beautiful location.

    Michelle2014-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Bruce's place was great for our trip to Grafton Notch state park. My husband and I really enjoyed how quaint this apartment is, it's surrounded by beautiful pine trees and the patio view is awesome (having BBQ there is a must!). The apartment has everything you need and conveniently located if you are planning to go hiking and explore that beautiful area. Bruce was very prompt and outgoing during the communication.

    Kristina2017-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • This is a clean, comfortable, sweet place to get away to. Surrounded by trees and songbirds, it is a peaceful piece of paradise. The bed was very comfortable, everything was clean and basics were all there. Bruce and Victoria were graciously accommodating for our early check in and communicated well. We only wished we had more time to enjoy the retreat.

    Navigator2017-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • Bruce and Victoria's apartment was lovely with everything we may have needed, and they were fantastic hosts, very helpful, friendly and considerate. The area is beautiful-- Paradise Road lives up to its name. The local restaurants and sights were perfect for us, and the hiking and kayaking options around were great. We look forward to staying again in the future!

    prune2013-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our four night stay at Bruce and Victoria’s place. The apartment was very spacious and comfortable for us and our baby. Their place is a short walk to Main St and is on a road that provides great views in both directions. We used their place as a base to explore the White Mountains and were very happy with the recommendations they provided us. We were also grateful that the fridge was stocked with brekky goodies. While this place is attached to the main house, the apartment feels private and you don’t feel like you are intruding. The apartment has a lovely eclectic vibe with interesting books for perusing. We met Bruce, Victoria and their lovely dog Theo soon after arriving and felt immediately welcomed. Being from a warm country we were a bit concerned about the cold weather, but Bruce showed us how to use the heater to make sure that we were cosy We would recommend staying here, and hope to get back to Bethel sometime!

    Bill2015-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is lovely. Very well furnished, cosy and well stocked (especially the kitchen equipment) with everything you would need. The location is remote - perfect for relaxing on the terrace to watch the sunsets over the white mountains. However, it is also close to Bethel and within easy access of the white mountains. Pamela was a great host. Friendly and all her directions etc were perfect. The only negatives about this place would be the lack of internet (which is clearly stated in the description but does mean you need to plan your activities in advance or the old fashioned way with guide books etc!). Also, you need to take your trash with you which, as it was the last stop before flying home and we had no internet or phone connection to find out where to take it, caused us a some trouble. I think these problems can be easily solved and I would definitely recommend this cabin as a great place to stay while experiencing the white mountains in the summer and fall but I would also consider it for the winter season as it is so convenient for ski resorts and would be a great place to come back to after a day on the slopes.

    Rachael2013-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed in Maine for a weekend away to ski and enjoy the outdoors. This cabin was the perfect spot! The wood stove and amazing mountain scenery provided a wonderful backdrop for our winter adventure. An added bonus to our journey was our dog being able to join us. He also thought the cabin was great- curling up on the radiant heated floors that offered great views to wildlife he could only dream of chasing. Pam was an excellent host, promptly answering any questions we had before and during our trip. Anything and everything we may have forgotten was conveniently provided. We are so grateful to have found this wonderful spot and hope we have the opportunity to visit again.

    Lisa2014-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our stay. Our group had 7 people and we all slept very comfortably. The cabin itself is beautiful and is an easy drive to Sunday River. The side of the refrigerator is covered in "thank you" notes from previous renters, which says a lot about the positive experiences everyone has here. I will definitely stay again next time I go to Bethel. Thank you Pamela!!

    Ana2015-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • Pam's cabin is beautiful and roomy. Everything was clean and prepped for our arrival. Five of us stayed there with plenty of room to spare. The cabin is so close to incredible skiing at Sunday River. I think we might make this an annual trip!

    Sean2014-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was fantastic, and far bigger than the pictures indicate! Would highly recommend.

    Jay2014-03-31T00:00:00Z
  • Pamela was a real joy to rent from. She is very responsive. What you are going to love most about renting from Pam is the easiness of the process. She is very thorough and informative. Upon arriving at the cabin is when you will be able to see Pam's amazing character traits. The warmth and welcoming energy the cabin has to offer provides immediate relaxation if R&R is what you're looking for. If you have dogs, then look no further, you will want to rent from Pam as she has made the cabin doggy friendly. We can't wait to go back! - oh, and you'll love the people from Bethel! Just good genuine people!

    KAI2014-05-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay for a week at Pam's beautiful cabin with our one year old and our lab. The cabin worked out great for our baby (easy to childproof, very comfortable, an he really loved the tire swing shaped like a horse!) as well as our dog who loved exploring the fenced in backyard area. The cabin was very cozy to return to after hiking and the bedroom upstairs stayed nice and warm even without the wood burning stove going and the thermostat being downstairs. Very pretty view, private but not too far from town, and everything you could need in the kitchen - worked out perfect for us. Getting rid of the last of our garbage when the dump was closed was a bit of a challenge, but we managed. This was our first airbnb experience and it was a very positive one. We had great communication with Pam and the cabin lived up to our expectations and then some. It was well worth the money and we were sad to say goodbye.

Although I didn't have the chance to meet Keith, but he had organized everything in an excellent way so we could check-in and enjoy our stay without any problem. The condo is well equipped and totally as described in the website. There is a nice ski style decoration in the condo that I liked and a lovely fireplace. I totally recommend this place to the others.

  • This was a great place for a weekend getaway our family. The location was very convenient to Sunday River. There is a spiral staircase that isn't mentioned in the description. The staircase goes down from the livingroom to the basement. It is very steep. If you have toddlers, you may want to bring a gate. Keith was very easy to communicate with and was very responsive to our questions. He is a great host!

  • It was our first experience like Airbnb guests. It was fantastic. We didn't see our host, maybe is a busy man or live so far from there, it doesn't matter, he gave us the right instructions to get in there. Very nice stay, beautiful place, quiet area, wonderful view, soo cozy house, confortable beds, excellent living room with big TV and Netflix to watch good movies when you stay in home. there are so close stores, pharmacy, markets, liquors, etc. We were in the perfect time to see the peak of the fall foliage, that was the main reason to go there. By the way, The Mount Washington is close, 45 min from there. Our friends would like to go back in Winter. Everything was perfect, Thank you thank so much. Highly recommended. 100%

    Fernando And Maryori2016-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • Keith's condo was a perfect fit for us as we traveled between Bretton Woods and Sunday River over February vacation. The condo was as described and had everything we needed. Keith was very responsive to our needs before, during and after our stay at his place. Thanks!

  • A cozy large cabin down the end of a long lane along a lake. Great location for those planning on skiing Sunday River. Hosts are excellent communicators with good recommendations. If coming with a large group, keep in mind that the property has a single bathroom and shower, you will need to be disciplined with its use to assure everyone in the party has sufficient access. If coming in winter, you will be required to hand shovel out deck, stairs from driveway to deck, driveway, and area behind vehicle(s) in case of snowstorm as we witnessed. Recommend that winter time visitors assure vehicles get decent traction in snowy/icy conditions to avoid possibility of getting stuck along the lane to the property.

  • We loved staying at Amy & Barb's cabin. It was very secluded and cozy and they provided everything we needed (dish soap, paper towels, towels, etc.) You can't see the water from the cabin, but it is only a short walk to their beach which has a fire pit and Adirondack chairs. My recommendations for things to do in the area: Grafton Notch (especially Step Falls) Sunday River (chair was not running due to wind conditions), Suds Pub (in town). We had a great time here and would come back.

    Laurie2016-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • Everything we expected. I will definitely be staying again. The place was perfect for my girlfriend and I. The lake was absolutely beautiful. I will recommend this place to anyone. Thank you guys for the hospitality.

  • We had a wonderful time at Songo Pond. We especially enjoyed the use of the kayaks. The surroundings are beautiful. I loved watching the bats flutter around at dusk. The beds and bedding were very comfortable. I noticed you also had toys there (smart move). We have a teen, but I thought it was a great idea. The teen did really like the sofa as he is 6ft tall. The kitchen and grill made things a breeze. (and the laundry!) Overall we had an extremely pleasant time and would recommend your cabin to many others!! It is a great space to spend with family. Thank you for sharing!

The six of us were very comfortable and had plenty of space among the three bedrooms and large/open kitchen, dining, and living room area. Barry's place was a great deal and an awesome way to spend our Presidents Day Weekend!

The Local Hub is 3 miles away, which is one of our favorite lunch spots and farm stand!
  • We had a great time this past fourth of julying eek end staying at Christopher and Dylan place. While I think it may have been a bit pricey in comparison to size of home, amenities and location to the lake, there is no doubt that my family and and I had a great stay. The lake in the photos looks a bit bigger and a bit "beachier" than it actually was considering its mostly a grassy area, but none the less, the hot tub fire pit and pool table made up for it :) we would definitely rent from Christopher and Dylan again. Great communication and not over bearing at all! Thanks for a great vacation

  • Perfect place for our friends getaway. Amenities were fantastic- everything you would want and more. Thanks Chris and Dylan for sharing your place with us.

    Michelle2016-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • The house was very nice and as described. Very well equipped with mostly everything you will need available. Sonos sound system throughout the house and outside to the deck was great. Chris was very responsive via text and available by phone if needed. Small beach area on the lake was very quiet, clean and nice. You could walk/bike there, but lots of steep hills on dirt/compacted gravel roads so really a short 5 min drive. Overall we had a great time, nice quiet area.

  • Beautiful home in a beautiful location! The home was exactly as advertised and very clean. Christopher and Dylan were extremely responsive to our needs and we really enjoyed our stay.

    Ben2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • Chris & Dylan were easy to book with and then get in touch by phone for the finer print details, and we had no problem finding the place but were glad we arrived in the daylight because it is definitely a wooded retreat area. Their log cabin vacation home has everything, and has a warm, comfortable feeling inside and out. Wooden walls and floors on the inside, with an indoor/outdoor stone fireplace, lots of windows to the trees outside and a nice wrap around deck in the back. Very private and quiet, but easy to get to the neighborhood beach on the lake or the very well-provisioned general store/cafe and town of Bethel nearby. If you want to get away and spend time with friends or family, with everyone enjoying their own space also - this is the spot!

  • We rented the Mountain & Lake Lodge for a few days between Christmas and New Year's. The house was very pleasant and fairly spacious; the space was adequate for our family of 5. We paid a premium for the property given the holiday week and while the house was very nice, I am not sure it was worth what we paid (the house is not on a lake as the pictures lead you to believe although there are a lot of lakes in the area). The fireplaces/hot tub were great for après-ski and the kitchen is very user friendly and easy to cook in. The hosts were gracious to extend our stay (for a slightly discounted premium rate) for a night due to a snowstorm that made us want to avoid driving back home. They were less than gracious when they asked for money for damages that were not our fault. Given that this was my first time with Airbnb, I know now that I should document damages found when one first arrives to avoid any confusion after the fact, but was satisfied with Airbnb's resolution in the matter.

  • The house is a hidden gem. Driving there was a lot of fun, as I entered through a very secluded area with no service. However, Greenwood and the community by the pond are very active places. There's a gas station only a few minutes away with everything you need. The house is also a lot of fun and has a lot of amenities to keep just about anyone busy and happy. I'd recommend to all ages.

    Cyrus2017-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Christopher&Dylan's house is a perfect house for a weekend away - warm, comfortable living space with gorgeous open fires, a jacuzzi, pool table and pulp fiction on VCR. Fun house to stay with friends and relax in the evenings after a day outdoors. We loved having SONOS outside by the fire pit. We'd highly recommend this place, it is an experience in itself.

The house is located in Viking Village which is right on Sunday River Ski resort and walking distance to the ski trails. Its an excellent home base for your ski trip as you can skip the crowded lodges for lunch, relax for a bit in your own private next to a big fire, then hit the slopes again for round 2. In the summer you will enjoy coffee on the deck as you plan your adventures for the day. Go hiking in Grafton Notch, float down the Adnroscoggin River, or go for a paddle on one of the near by lakes.
  • So glad we were able to stay at Getman’s place. The house is beautiful. We were a group of 14 adults and there was room to spare. No one even had to share a bed. The kitchen is huge and extremely well equipped. The hot tub was very clean and awesome to relax in after a day spent hiking and such. The beds were very comfortable and the steam room in the master bath was great. Couldn’t ask for anything more. We definitely look forward to staying again!!!!!

Super cute, cozy ski loft/condo in the heart of Bethel, Maine. Very close to restaurants and shopping. My condo is located in the Opera house, next to the Bethel Inn. 15 minutes from Sunday River and 45 minutes away from Jackson Ski XC. The loft has two twins beds and one full bed upstairs, and futon convert into bed on first floor. Ideal for families, and ski groups. Ski locker available in basement. Thanks!
Please be aware that this is in a condo building with other people who reside there. Common courtesy please.
  • Great location, close to Sunday river. There was a nice open layout that allowed everyone to socialize together. Perfect for an overnight

  • Perfect budget accommodations for skiing st Sunday River. Cute, very well maintained, ski loft. Nicer than the picture it worked well for our group of 1 adult and three kids. Easy to find with great parking and easy access. And Joan is very helpful with clear communications and patience for frazzled dads. We hope to stay here again. Cheers S

Tucked away in the woods but conveniently located a short drive from both Sunday River and Bethel village, this beautiful chalet-style home is the perfect place to relax after a long day on the slopes or in the hills. Come enjoy our home as much as we do!
  • An absolutely fantastic winter escape. The house is perfect. Beautiful. Incredibly comfortable. Well provisioned. Great location (15 minutes from bethel and 20-25 from Sunday river). David was incredibly helpful. Wonderful vacation stay with family.

  • The place was amazing! Great location. A bottle of wine to start your stay off right is a nice touch. Would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to others.

    Matthew2015-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • I could not have imagined a more perfect spot for a winter getaway. We were happy to see that Dave's cabin was about 15 minutes from Sunday River Resort, so the commute to the slopes was quick and effortless. After a long day of skiing you can come back and relax in the hot tub, nap by the fire, and cook dinner in the fully equipped kitchen. We had everything we could have possibly needed for the weekend including fresh towels, linens, essential cooking supplies, and even a bottle of wine. Dave's home was clean, comfortable, and everything we imagined and more!

    Melanie2016-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing! David was super helpful. He answered all of my questions and even offered suggestions for hiking trail around the nearby Grafton Notch. The house is set on a quiet road, and you can't see any other camp (at least while there are leaves on the trees). The house itself is gorgeous, it was even larger than I expected and everything was in excellent condition. We were really happy to stay here and if I find myself in the area again, I will certainly look here first.

    Dan2014-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • David's place was a beautiful cabin for a ski weekend at Sunday River. The house was wonderfully decorated with great bedrooms and wonderful common spaces. The kitchen was well setup for a group to cook and hang out in. We also very much enjoyed jumping in the hot tub after a long day on the slopes. Only wished we could have stayed longer!

    Ian2017-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • David was the best host! He was quick to respond and gave us great detail about things to do and places to eat in the area. We went ATVing and tubing nearby, which I highly recommend! Everything is about 15-30 minutes from the house, but you have everything you need, so you wouldn't have to leave the house if you didnt want to!

    Morgan2017-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • My friend and I arrived at this beautifully constructed cabin in the hills of Bethel, ME during one of the worst heat waves the area had seen in years. Immediately, we felt at home. The three-level cabin had nearly every amenity we could have imagined except air conditioning, but the gracious and ultra-friendly owners left enough fans for us to be comfortable throughout the day and well-rested each morning. Some particular favorites of our stay were the incredibly relaxing hot tub, plush couches, raised gardens, decorative touches, and atmosphere of serenity and privacy without feeling overly remote or secluded from the wonderful world of Bethel. I would give this well-maintained and obviously well-loved air bnb my highest thumbs up and recommend it to anyone looking for a salubrious getaway to the exceedingly bucolic hidden paradise known as Bethel. I hope to return in the winter to sample the skies and snowshoes and bask in the gas fireplace's glow!

    Brian2015-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • If you are debating on staying at David's place, book it. They were super sweet and left a really nice note. The house was cozy and gorgeous. We will come back, especially with our family. Thank you!
