  • This is our second visit and we are in love with this place! We cannot wait to go back!

  • We loved starting at Margi & Jessi's! The yurts are clean, comfortable, and warm, and the firepits and hammocks make for a relaxing stay. Margi and Jessi are incredibly hospitable and were full of tips on things to do on the island. We hope to be back!

    Andrea2019-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing place for a secluded vacation! This was definitely a memorable experience. We missed the last ferry to the island but managed to find a private boat owner willing to take us out there (which is evidently rare, so check the ferry schedule!). The island is big and we didn't bring a car, but the local residents consistently picked us up and were delightful to talk to. The yurt was perfect - cozy, away from distractions, and you could breathe the fresh air and hear the waves. We walked to the beach, the tavern, and the general store. We were able to relax and refresh more than in a long time. Margi and Jess were extremely kind and the entire property felt like art.

  • The loveliest hosts! Their children were the best playmates for my daughter. The yurt and accompanying amenities were pristinely clean. Kitchen is much larger than expected and super easy to maneuver. Less off the grid than you think - the one restaurant on the island is next door (and has a great juke box), the shop is a couple miles away, and lots of people during high season.

    Aubrey2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Had an amazing stay off-grid, in nature but with great commodities. Yurt is comfortable, bathroom and kitchen facilities are more than adequate. Loved the fire pit and beach access on site! Bring water shoes if you plan on swimming, make ferry reservations ASAP, and bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper (friendly rooster, fog horns, other guests, etc.). Will keep this rental in mind for future adventures.

    Gabrielle2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful place A hidden gem 💎 Margi & Jessi were very wonderful people and we had the best time Thank you so much my daughter and I will be returning

  • We fell in love with BBI! It was awesome and already booked out next trip in October!

    Lesly2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • What Margo and Jessi have done with the property is remarkable. One can see the time and effort they put into the yurts. Valerie and myself felt welcomed and had an amazing time on the island exploring. This island is perfect for those who don’t need much to keep them entertained and to relax. We would definitely come back.

  • We had a fantastic time staying with Margi and Jessi! The yurt was clean and comfortable, even in cooler weather. They were fantastic hosts, and took great care of us. Plenty of amenities, from the outdoor kitchen (with outlet, so you can charge your phone, if need be) to the heated shower. As for the island...holy cow. Friendliest people, unbelievable serenity and beauty on Bob-Lo. If you want to go off the grid, this is the place for you. And the stars at night were something I’ll never forget. Not only are we planning on coming back, we may have found our retirement spot!

  • We had a great time staying in the yurt. It’s the only way to camp!

    Christina2019-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Stay at Margi and Jessi's place if you want a tranquil, comfortable, zero-hassle weekend on Bois Blanc Island. Their place was exactly what I was looking for. All I wanted to do was spend the weekend sleeping in, reading, and being left alone, and I was able to accomplish those goals magnificently. If you're into sorta hippie art, they have a shop full of art they created there on the island.

  • Instead of a camping trip, my son casually suggested we go glamping. I laughed & replied that I didn't think glamping was available in the areas we were interested in going. Oh boy was I wrong!!! First of all, we never even thought about going to Bois Blanc Island. But we came across this property on the AirBnB site, & we were instantly intrigued. THIS IS GLAMPING FOLKS!!! The yurts were beautiful & so clean. Beds & bedding were so comfortable. Although it was a vault toilet, it was the cleanest & nicest I've ever used. The screened in kitchen was amazing. But what I will remember the most are the hosts. Margi & Jsssie are the most amazing humans. As others had stated in their reviews, they made us feel like part of the family. My kids played with their kids. They played with the chickens like they had known them forever (probably didn't hurt that they kept feeding them😉). And we LOVED the art gallery & made many purchases. Margi & Jessie told us about all the good spots on the island. We met some other people on our adventures around the island. And by the time our stay had come to end, we felt like we knew all the island folk. Highly recommend If we ever come back to Bois Blanc, there is no question about where we will stay. ❤❤❤❤

    Melissa2019-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • The yurts are such a fun way to enjoy the outdoors without actually camping. We had such a great time and Margi & Jessi were so welcoming and attentive if we needed anything. Clean bathroom area, stocked kitchen, anything you really need for an outdoor stay. We had beatiful weather so we got to enjoy Lake Huron. Also, they were very welcoming of our two dogs. Thank you for hosting us!

Say goodbye to traffic, stress, and urban sprawl. Escape to Bois Blanc Island in the Straits of Mackinac, Gateway to Michigan's Upper Peninsula. The island beckons if you seek peacefulness, undiscovered wilderness and views of unbelievable sunsets. This is truly Island living with all the comforts of home. Open yourself to tranquility, serenity, solitude and peace. Open yourself to the essence of Bois Blanc Island. Then write your own description of paradise.
The apartment is part of a Bed & Breakfast with three complete apartments. The apartment for your family and friends includes the Living Room with its ten-foot high ceiling features a large fieldstone fireplace. The chandelier, a sailing ship's helm, reminds you that you are on an Island. A library, with several thousand volumes and its unusual architecture, beveled glass, antique lighting fixture and stained glass pocket door invites you to read, study or write. Upstairs you'll find the Origami Room, Moe’s Room, the Bunk Bedroom and the Studio with separate entrance and balcony.
The only store on the Island, Hawks Landing, provides hearty meals, dispenses spirits, household items, video rentals, and souvenirs. The Bois Blanc Tavern contributes local color while also providing hearty meals, spirits and occasional live music. Both are located approximately 1.25 miles to either side of Insel Haus.
  • Great place to stay and relax. The people r very helpful and will go out if there way for u. I would recommend this place to everyone. I will come and stay again next time I’m in the island.

  • Christa is a host who truly wants you to have a wonderful experience. She is very accommodating, helpful, and positive. The rental is spacious and the eight of us had more than enough bedrooms, bathrooms, towels, chairs, etc. Everyone there worked to make us feel welcome and taken care of - even fixing a flat tire on our car. The natural beauty surrounding the home can’t be beat either, from the beach to to the deer and monarchs.

    Mark And Kathleen2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Best airbnb experience I have ever had

    Rob2019-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • Staying with Christa was wonderful. She took great care of our needs. She really went above and beyond. We needed transportation getting to the B&B for some of our party and she provided it. She made sure that we were comfortable in every way. The space provided was much larger than what we reserved which was another benefit for our large family. And she couldn’t stress enough about bringing bug spray! ;) Thank you Christa, Matt, Bryan and Shelby for a wonderful holiday weekend.

    Terry2019-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • This home was a perfect getaway for our family. Tons of room and such a relaxing environment. Christa was so helpful anytime we needed anything. Such a lovely trip!

  • Insel Haus on Bois Blanc Island is a fantastic, affordable Northern Michigan vacation destination! we were a family group of seven and had a wonderful time. The apartment is spacious and the bedrooms are SO comfortable. Although there were other visitors on site at the time, we didn't get in each other's way. There's a lovely beach right across the street; fields of milkweed with more Monarch butterflies than I've ever seen; deer visiting every morning. Christa is a gracious and warm host. We're already talking about a return trip.

    Ruby2018-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place hosted by delightful people! Christa & Shelby are a pleasure to talk to. Insel Haus is a perfect location for anyone looking to spend a quiet vacation away from the crowds, a charming old house with a lot of character. Island has a lot to offer to nature lovers - serene waterfront, star filled skies, amazing sunsets, Mackinac bridge views, birds, wildlife...

  • Our host was amazing; she was polite and welcoming. We felt at home right away. This is an amazing place to explore wild life, nature, swimming during the day and star gazing at night. We definitely want to go back.

ACTUALLY ON BOIS BLANC ISLAND, MICHIGAN!! A quaint, rustic barn house in the woods on Bois Blanc Island, in the Straits of Mackinac. Your own 125 ft of Lake Huron Beach down a 200 ft lighted path from the house, 40 wooded acres, full of wildlife. Sleeps 6, bath/shower, washer/dryer, dishes, outside grill. Available May through October.
Our Cabin in the woods is a typical northern Michigan summer cottage. Very quaint, comfortable, a perfect retreat. One private bedroom with a King Selectric bed and one bunk room with two bunk beds (four singles). The Laundry room also has a day bed for an extra sleeping space. The living room is well appointed with three lounge chairs and a sofa. A full kitchen with large refrigerator/freezer, full size gas stove, cupboard space full with pots, pans, dishes & silverware. Full size claw foot bathtub with shower in a good size bathroom. A family of six or less will be very comfortable and have plenty of their own space.
The neighborhood is very sleepy, quite, low key, summer cottages and a few year round homes. A small get together or party is normal but must respect the serenity of the neighbors. If you want to party hard, the bar is two miles down the road, close enough to walk if you can't drive.
  • They were great hosts super friendly and helpful Their place and the island is beautiful definitely would love to go back

  • Tom and Kitty have a wonderful Barnhouse retreat. They welcomed us and gave a quick tour of the house and beach. A bottle of wine was chilled and waiting for us. All we needed to bring was our clothes and food. Everything else was there for us! They gave a few ideas for places to explore since it was our first time in Bois Blanc. They even surprised our daughter with a birthday gift. If you're looking for a relaxing and welcoming place to stay, look no further. Thank you for being such wonderful hosts!!

    Mary2019-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place to stay and the description is quite accurate. This was our first time on Bois Blanc island so we did not know what to expect but thoroughly enjoyed our time there. When we arrived, Tom and Kitty were at the house to greet us and show us around the property. The property is only about 1 1/2 miles from the ferry which makes it easy to access. From the house it is a short walk across the road to a private area on the beach with chairs and a picnic bench. We really enjoyed spending time outside walking around the property or sitting in on the patio. When we stayed there, we had a family emergency and so had to cut our vacation short. Tom was very responsive to our needs. For a relaxing, comfortable, and down-to-earth place to stay, we cannot recommend this place high enough.

    John2019-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • Tom and Kitty were great hosts and very thoughtful. They helped make our vacation a relaxing and special trip. Would recommend their place to anyone coming to BBI.

    Thomas2019-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • They were great hosts and communicators. The place was great... plenty of space, great access to Lake Huron and great yard space for hanging out. Thoroughly enjoyed out stay of 4 nights, and will definitely return to this place.

    Todd2018-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • If you’re looking for the ultimate relaxation destination, Bois Blanc Island has you covered. Tom and Kitty are fabulous hosts. From the complimentary bottle of Michigan wine to the sunbathing platform they anchored off the beach for us on sunny days, they made sure we were having a great time. Bois Blanc Island is remote, but the beach and clear waters of Lake Huron melted away the worries and stress from our city lives. We enjoyed the playing at the beach, off roading in our Jeep, swimming, playing guitar under the stars and fishing at Mary Lake (inland lake on the island.)

    Michele2018-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Tom and Kitty are great hosts - they are super helpful, friendly, and careful not to "intrude". We had a great visit, and look forward to the next stay!

This cozy cottage is romantic, full of charm and character. We are open year round starting 2019! The owner is an artist and her attention to detail and creative flair are evident everywhere. There are beautiful Lake Huron views from every room. It is located 7 miles from Mackinaw City. You’ll love this place because of the quaintness, comfy bed, coziness, and the views. It's is well suited for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and small families. Pet are considered.
This lovingly maintained cottage is a family treasure! The owner acquired this property from her parents many years ago. They were both musicians (pianist and violinist) and the cottage was aptly named "Allegro". The owner recalls her father spending his evenings practicing his violin at the waters edge. Whether you are looking for a quiet and peaceful place to relax or a comfortable place to enjoy your loved ones or friends, this is the place. The views of Lake Huron, Mackinac Island and the Mackinac Bridge are spectacular. The cottage boasts large windows which allow not only the summer breezes off the Lake but impeccable views. The cottage comes well equipped and provides all the comforts of home. The kitchen is small but functional. The living room and dining area provide a carefree gathering place. The yard is spacious and there are plenty of shady trees for warm days. The cottage was remodeled by a Northern Michigan craftsman and the quality of his work is evident. There are wood plank floors and a beautifully designed kitchen and bathroom. The cottage is small but comfortable for 2-3 adults or 2 adults and up to 2 children. Pets are considered on a case by case basis and there is an extra nightly charge of $25. Please let me know if you are interested in bringing your pet. The cottage is now available year round so enjoy the peace and quiet of Mackinaw in the Fall and Winter as well! The cottage is directly across the road from a 60 mile all purpose trail so hike, bike, snowshoe or snowmobile at your pleasure!
The cottage is easy to find, located on US 23 halfway between Mackinaw City and Cheboygan. There are endless possibilities for activities in the area - shop, dine, golf, antiquing, para-sail, hike, swim, cycle, kayak/canoe, boating, fishing - the list goes on and on. There is a 62 mile crushed stone hike/bike/snow mobile trail across the street from the cottage so feel free to bring your equipment. Bring your own kayaks and canoes which can be launched from the beach.
  • Allegro was just what we were looking for in a weekend getaway! Everything was sparkling clean and the cabin was so cozy! We will definitely be back

  • Peaceful, beautiful cottage.

    Dianne2019-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • Had a lovely Labor Day weekend up north get away! The location was perfect and close driving distance to everything, also you have your own private beach which was great for our paddle board. Very cozy cabin, would definitely stay again!

    Jessica2018-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • The Allegro cottage was a great getaway for our family. The water is wonderful and close, and the cottage is comfortable and welcoming. Close enough to amenities, but far enough for quiet.

    Acer2018-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage was hard to leave it was so cozy!

    Jeff2017-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I could not have picked a better location. The Allegro cottage is so cozy and relaxing it was difficult to leave and explore the area. It is a short drive to so many attractions, restaurants and shops. I loved the short walk down the yard to the lake shore and the views from the house are beautiful. We decided to stay in the area an extra day and our host Diane was happy to allow another night in the cottage. The trip to Northern Michigan was perfect.

    Tracy2017-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • This was a wonderful little cottage that suited our vacation perfectly. It is located close to the sites and activities we wanted to visit, but far enough away to have a secluded feel. I would recommend the Allegro to anyone wanting a quiet retreat after a day spent taking in the sites of Northern Michigan.

  • We had a perfectly relaxing time in this cottage. The view was gorgeous. We loved watching the boats and wildlife. Our binoculars were in constant use. We would definitely recommend this place.

  • Excellent balance of open setting with fantastic views and peaceful environment. Million $ View cabin is comfortable and nicely appointed. We had place to ourselves as other units on property were open first couple nights of stay. Beachfront swing and campfire setup, along with comfortable deck chairs offer excellent seating to enjoy the evening after a day out taking advantage of the proximity to Mac Island, Mac Bridge, UP, to etc. Even with company in other units, campfire near shore provided nice communal area to hang out and enjoy fire-roasted goodies and a few beverages with new friends.

    Greg2018-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful place!! A quaint cottage with everything you might need (seriously, Diane thought of everything we'd need). We got to enjoy the sunset from the beautiful swing on the beach, a campfire by the water, and kayaking in the lake. Diane left us some thoughtful tips and treats at check-in and made our stay just perfect!

    Katharine2018-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I stayed here for for 6 days on our honeymoon. It was a great getaway cabin and definitely has, as claimed, a million dollar view. We also found it very convenient to other places we wanted to visit. Sure beats the run of the mill hotel room. M. Wheeler

    Mike2017-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • The photos don't do the million dollar view justice...the view was spectacular... could see Mackinac island, bridge, and so much more from the shoreline. Beautifully manicured yard...Cute, cozy and comfty cabin... Can't wait to return...

  • It was my first time in a RV and I was a bit apprehensive with a 3 year old kid in the trip. However, wanted to give it a try anyways. It turned out to be such a memorable experience to cherish forever. The RV was clean with all amenities available on board(surprisingly), the heater worked great, vessels and important stuffs for cooking available along with the grill available etc. It was more than what I expected. It's all safe with a kid as well. Would highly recommend this place to anyone. Just go blind folded and you will enjoy the experience. Above all, close to zero light outside over the night, made me watch milky way galaxy which had been my dream for 35 years.

  • Great place off the beaten path which is exactly what we were looking for. Nichole added nice personalized touches. Shower/tub was small, but expected for a camper. I just had never stayed in a camper before so I didn’t realize how small it would be. It was all good though. Highly recommend!

This cozy efficiency is located on a 5 acre lot on the beautiful shore of Lake Huron with stunning views of Mackinac Island and the Mackinac Bridge. It has been totally remodeled and we are offering great rates for your vacation getaway. **Effective May 1st, 2017 we will no longer be accepting reservations with Pets. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Lem's Paradise #2 is a refurbished motel that sits on 5 acres along with Lem's Paradise, Little Lem's and the Million Dollar View Cottage. They share the property and 335 feet of frontage on Lake Huron. You can rent any of them separately or together if you need extra space for a large gathering. (There are beds for a total of 18.) All bedding, linens, dishes, etc. are included. Our guests love the views and the peacefulness of the property.
The views are stunning and there is a 62 mile bike path that can be accessed across the street from the cottage. It's close enough to town for convenience but far enough from the crowds to enjoy the peaceful setting. I recommend bringing your bikes! Kayaks and canoes are welcome too.
  • Super clean place with a great view of the island and bridge. Close to town, but outside of all of the craziness in town brings. Diane is super sweet and gave great tips of places to visit, coupons and brochures, even a plate of homemade chocolate chip cookies on arrival. Wonderful place to relax with the entire family.

  • Great location and views of the lake and islands. We were busy exploring the area but will come back soon to spend more time on this beautiful property down at the beach. Everyone was very friendly, owner of the property even dropped off homemade chocolate chip cookies our first day - thanks so much! Easy drive to Mackinaw City with all the shopping and dining, but so relaxing back at the property. We will be back for sure next summer.

  • Diane was such a great host. She gave us some tips of places to go and places to stay away from. The nicest and sweetest host EVER! The room was spotless. Let me tell you the water pressure was AMAZING.. All amenities were spot on. When we return to the Mackinaw area we will book with Diane. This whole property is so nice and there’s a public beach right down the road.

  • Nice space with everything you could want in an up north space. Perfect location for visiting Mackinaw City, Mackinaw Island, the UP and the northern Lower Peninsula. The owners happened to be there when we checked in. Deb introduces herself and provided us with some excellent suggestions. You can’t go wrong staying here :)

Wonderful Lake Front Cottage - sleeps 6-8. 3 Bedrooms/2 full baths, laundry room - fully equipped. Located on pristine Lake Huron with incredible views of Mackinac Bridge/ Island.
This lovely family cottage is located on Lake Huron, 3 minutes south of Mackinaw City. Away from the hustle and bustle of town but close enough for a quick trip for your evening guilty pleasure of Mackinaw fudge or a fresh churned ice cream cone. Enjoy the incredible views of Mackinac Island, Bois Blanc Island and the Mackinac Bridge from the privacy and comfort of the spacious sun room. With seating for 10, it will be the focal point for your family gatherings. There is space for everyone and the room welcomes you to sit back and relax. Play a game of cards, or tell ghost stories - it's a perfect place to reconnect with your family or friends. The cottage was completely remodeled in 2010 - everything, including appliances, are new. The Mackinaw House is an opportunity to find peace, tranquility, joy and adventure. With a view of one of the world’s most beautiful bridges, and Mackinaw Island which is majestically set between Michigan’s Upper and Lower Peninsulas our home is a perfect vacation destination. Nestled in Northern Michigan, the Mackinaw House is a safe and charming location for your next visit to the shores of the Straits of Mackinac. The Mackinaw House is a two story structure with an interior decorated with family heirlooms and paneling made from native species of wood. The first floor is inviting and calming with one bed room, a mud room including a washer and dryer, a full kitchen and dining room, a small den, and a full bathroom. The Mackinaw House is a getaway, a true oasis away from the rat race, with stunning sunrises and a palette of colors at sunset. The second floor has a rustic feel with log walls in the family room, two bedrooms and a second bathroom. The walls in the bedrooms are a combination of light cheery colors and knotty pine wood. The family room has a television, couch, and an additional dining room table and hutch. There is a very small kitchenette in the back of the family room. The Mackinaw House was built with our own hands with the intention of creating a lake house with that “welcome home” feel. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do. The beach is rocky so bring your water shoes.
They say “location is everything” and you won’t find a better location to enjoy all that Northern Michigan has to offer. If you are interested in star-gazing, the night sky over Lake Huron is beautiful. You can also drive 10 minutes to the Headlands - recently designated as a 'DARK SKY PRESERVE' - one of only 10 locations in the USA! This is given to a few special areas that are free of artificial light. The night sky is breathtakingly beautiful! In the winter, you can be on the slopes of Nubs Knob or Boyne Mountain in less than 30 minutes. If you prefer snow-shoeing or x-country skiing, the area offers the Headlands, Wilderness State Park or Mill Creek - all minutes away. The beautiful Mackinaw to Midland snowmobile/bike trail is easily accessed from the driveway of the cottage. Interested in a little more adventure? Try a dog-sled ride through the wilderness from a local musher! Also a great base-camp for hunters. In the spring, birdwatchers gather from all over the country to catch a glimpse of the incredible hawk migration. Lake Michigan,Historic Fort Michilimackinac and the Old Mackinac Point Lighthouse, the ferry docks to Mackinac Island - are all minutes away. In the fall, take the color tour through the “tunnel of trees” or enjoy spectacular scenery in the Upper Peninsula, an easy drive across the mighty Mackinac Bridge. There’s nothing quite like the sound of bugling elks during mating season at Pigeon River or the mysterious call of the loon on a quiet lake. It’s all here! Hunt, fish, hike, canoe, bike – you can do it all or you can just relax by the cozy fireplace with a good book. A vacation at the Mackinaw House is an opportunity for family fun. There is something for everyone where the waters of Lake Michigan and Lake Huron meet. The area is rich in natural beauty, history, and unique opportunities on Mackinaw Island; to visit a place that really is “somewhere in time.” Activities within a few miles include golf, hiking, guided tours, jet skiing, parasailing, bicycle paths, sightseeing, lake cruises, local cuisine, Fort Mackinac, horse- drawn carriage rides, historical treasures, state historic parks, butterfly conservatory, ferry boats, and much more… Activities within forty-five minutes or less of the house include downhill skiing, cross country skiing, snow mobile trails, the historic downtowns of Petoskey and Harbor Springs and all of the opportunities of music, entertainment, and culture available year – around in Northern Michigan. Mackinaw Getaways is now able to offer cottage accommodations to sleep up to 40 people. With many cottages to choose from, this is the perfect location for wedding parties, family reunions or other small gatherings. If you're planning a Mackinac Island wedding and need accommodations for your guests, we have the perfect solution. Enjoy charming cottages, all with fully equipped kitchens (some even include a washer/dryer), screened-in porch, picnic area and firepits for evening campfires with friends and family - all a stones throw from the Mackinac Island ferries. Call us for more information. We can help you plan a variety of Ecotour packages in the summer and fall. Interested in kayaking the Straits of Mackinac or the Les Cheneaux Islands? How about a guided bike tour or a birding excursion? We can hook you up with an experienced guide (all equipment included) for an unforgettable adventure.
  • Loved the space! It was perfect for our family to be together. Nice large space for the kids to play and relax and close to the water.

  • The Mackinaw House is absolutely tremendous. The location is excellent - both private and also close to the heart of Mackinaw city. The house is comfortable, clean, and well stocked with everything you'll need. The porch is perfect for sharing meals, playing games, reading, or just enjoying the sound of the crashing waves. The house provides private access to the lake and a great spot for having a fire and/or playing outdoor games. Your experience here will be unforgettable.

  • Wonderful house for a family vacation.

    Tammy2019-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay here! It is the perfect place to get away with family and friends. it is a spacious cottage directly on the water with a private beach out front- perfect for bonfires on the beach, water play and relaxing. Minutes away from the ferry to the island as well as to downtown Mackinaw City. The back porch is open windows to enjoy the spectacular view. Our only feedback was the beds weren't extremely comfortable (which, how much time should you be spending in them, anyways). We really loved everything else about our stay!

    Rebecca2018-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • This house was beautiful. It is bigger than the pictures make it seem. Loved being right on the water to get up and just go look at the view. Will defiantly be back again!

  • Our family had a very relaxing time at Lorraine's camper. As we stepped onto the RV we saw that Lorraine had provided us with a fresh loaf of hearty whole wheat bread, a (Fig?) bread, eggs, butter, jam, cheese and bottled water; we really enjoyed the breads. Although the camper is near the owner's house, it was kind of nice because Lorraine let us use as much wood as we wanted from her shed. Try to get here in daylight because you need to drive 15 min on what seemed like dirt road at night. This property is very quiet, serene and surrounded by large trees and the fall colors were breathtaking. We spent a whole day relaxing, cooking pizza on the fire pit and enjoying the roaring fire in the 45 F Fall Weather. The heating unit kept us warm and there was plenty of hot water for the shower. The toilet and shower are small but I have seen smaller ones:) The kitchen is well stocked with tea, coffee, coffee creamer, honey, oatmeal, and spices. Thanks for a memorable weekend and our first time staying in an RV.

  • Perfect little get away! Close enough to the action of Mackinaw City, but far enough away for some piece and quiet!

    Justin2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • My husband, one year old and I stayed at Lorraine’s camper this weekend and had a great time. There was plenty of space, the place was so clean and Lorraine provided everything we could have needed. Mackinaw City was about 15 minutes away and then we also saw many places in the UP. Lorraine was available by text and in the evening if we had any questions and she provided helpful travel tips. We would totally recommend staying at Lorraine’s place and may go back again in the future. Thanks Lorraine!

  • Place was exactly how it was described. There is a nice fire pit right on the beach with a view of the bridge and island. The cabin was small, but can easily sleep 3 adults. Bathroom was small, but shower was nice. Everything seemed newly remodeled. Has the kitchen essentials: a fridge, freezer, microwave and coffee pot. Has linens as well. Great location as it is only an 8 minute drive to Mackinaw City.

    Lucas2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • I loved this place, with all the wilderness around. One of the most calm places I have been to. I had siteings of many different birds. Owner had kept all the resources required for a good stay. Would visit this place again.

  • Donald’s place was the perfect place to meet up with friends and relax for a few days. The kitchen was great and was stocked with everything we needed to cook meals. The location was awesome too. Right across from the lake and a nice little river running through the back yard. A very peaceful place to spend the weekend.

  • Amazing cabin. Secluded, well equipped, great amenities for the stay. Breathtaking scenery during winter. Not too far from town to get supplies. Very spacious and cozy. Our kids had a blast out at the snow and inside playing the board games the host provided. Kitchen completely equipped. Sparkling clean all around. Definitively will come back!

  • This cabin was great. I highly recommend. It was very clean, and the hosts had so many thoughtful little extras in place to make the stay even more enjoyable. With the snowmobile trail right out front it makes the cabin a great escape any time of the year. And, with its location to the bridge, island, skiing areas and state parks, you could stay there for days and stay busy.

    Annette2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • This is a spacious and well appointed cabin in a secluded area. Best features are location and large space. The cabin could use a bit of updating but is still very nice.

Lem's Paradise is located on 5 acres and 330 feet of frontage on the shore of beautiful Lake Huron between Mackinaw City and Cheboygan, Michigan. It has 2 bedrooms, 2 baths and comfortably sleeps 6.
The property is expansive, quiet, peaceful and private. The views of Mackinac Island and the Mackinac Bridge are incomparable. The house is 1800 sf, features a large fieldstone fireplace, hardwood floors, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a laundry room and a huge, well equipped kitchen. There is a delightful little sunroom off the kitchen that faces the lake. Enjoy your morning coffee or tea as well as a spectacular sunrise from the comfort of the deck. Feel free to bring your canoe or kayaks and put in right at the beach for a great day of paddling. There is also access to a 62 mile bike trail across the street from the cottage. The beach is rocky and typical of northern Michigan so we do recommend water shoes for swimming.
We love the privacy and solitude of the property but you are only a short drive too either Mackinaw City or Cheboygan. Mackinaw City has several ferry services to Mackinac Island and has plenty of things to do, places to eat and shop and museums & lighthouses to visit. The house is within an hour of Lake Superior, Taquamenon Falls, Saulte Ste Marie, Petoskey, Harbor Springs, St. Ignace and much more. It's a perfect base camp for all of your northern Michigan adventures.
  • The house was clean and spacious, great for our family of 5! The waterfront was beautiful, the bird-watching was fun, the proximity to Mackinac was super convenient, and the owners were lovely. I really couldn’t have asked for more :)

  • We stayed in early April. The views of the lake from the house are spectacular. It was a special treat to get to see all the early spring ice in big blue chunks along the shore. We got a snowstorm our second day there, so we had fun getting the chance to try out the snowshoes that were provided. Stacey also promptly called a snowplow to clear the driveway for us. The house itself is immaculate and very comfortable. We had everything we needed for a carefree and enjoyable stay. We would definitely recommend and hope to return to try the beach in warmer months.

  • My husband, 2 girls (11 & 12), dog and I enjoyed our 9 day stay! We brought our boat, bikes and food. We needed more necessities, so we ordered from the Family Fare grocery store and it came over on the ferry. We bought farm fresh eggs from the lady on the island. We boated to Mackinac island on a calm day and spent our day there. Margi's cabin was just right for us. Laid back cabin on a laid back island. It was a wonderful stay! We'll be back one day!
