Places to stay in Bovina Center
Feeling all at once close to town center and yet completely enveloped in mountaintop thicket, this idyllic perch above Bovina sets the scene for many a cozy adventure - snowshoeing and fireside cider in the winter, hammock swinging and pond dipping in the summer. Set atop Bramley Mountain, Owl's Nest boasts cathedral ceilings, an open first floor for lounging & entertaining, a wood-burning stove and two separate, cozy bedrooms upstairs.
  • We LOVED our stay. The location is perfectly secluded and quiet and felt very ‘off the grid’. The property is beautiful and we loved stomping around with our littles being in nature and sledding in the snow. There isn’t too much around which makes it the perfect little getaway. The aesthetics of the space is super comfortable and simple. Such a cozy stay (my kids are already asking to go back!).

  • We had a great trip and would certainly go back again. This is one place that is actually as beautiful as the pictures! The cabin is wonderful, the neighborhood is quiet and peaceful, and there are plenty of woods to tromp around. Our kids loved it too! We cook a lot, probably more than most, and could have brought a few more kitchen things from home. That certainly didn't detract from out trip. The style is minimalist throughout which makes for a clean, calm stay. It was a great change of pace.

  • Very pretty place, was very beautiful in the snow.

    Omkar2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • This is the kind of space that you walk into and immediately wish was your own. It’s a beautiful, rustic, minimalist space with perfect, gorgeous details. This was my second time here and it won’t be my last.

  • We had a wonderful and relaxing stay at owls nest. The house was cozy and beautifully appointed and we look forward to visiting again! Sohail and sara responded to all our questions promptly and could not have been more gracious hosts!

  • The Owl's nest is always the perfect escape to get away from city - favorite part is the morning and evening light seen through the treeline. Clear skies at night allow you to see every star in the sky all tucked away in peaceful quiet.

This cozy studio in the heart of the Catskills looks out over our lush valley, spring-fed swimming pond, and year-round creek. Walking distance from Bovina Center and Russell’s (the best breakfast sandwiches in the region!). Enjoy the swimming pond and fresh veggies from the garden by day! At night, relax in front of the wood stove, stargaze, or listen to coyotes calling in the hills. Ski slopes, hiking trails, farmer’s markets, and the wonders of the Catskills at your fingertips.
The studio is separated from the main house by a large barn. Park in our driveway and walk around the barn to find the cozy studio tucked away in a private corner of the property. The interior is filled with natural light and always smells like fresh pine. A small wood stove in the corner is perfect for wintertime or cold mountain nights (and yes, we provide the wood). If you're feeling lazy, just fire up the radiant heat floors. The bathroom is brand new and features an antique clawfoot tub and heated floors. The kitchenette, hidden in a large armoire and flanked by a small fridge, includes a toaster oven, coffee maker, and basic tableware and cutlery.
Bovina Center is an indescribable gem. Nestled in pastoral Delaware County, the community is filled with full time residents, weekenders, and NYC ex-pats who fell in love and never left. Stop in to Russel's, the local "country store", where you can get breakfast, lunch, basic groceries, or just a cup of coffee; Brushland Eating House, a high end farm-to-table restaurant; and the newly-renovated dairy, all within a short walk. Go a little farther and you will find The Bull and Garland, a fabulous english style pub complete with a beer garden in the summer, or Table on Ten, a destination for killer wood fired pizza and other local fare. Or explore Andes (neighboring town), and pop into the wine store, cider tap room, or numerous antique shops.
  • This place was exactly what I was looking for in a weekend getaway! The wood stove was cozy and Catharine and Jake were helpful in getting it started. They also provided tips for local places to eat and were always quick with communications. Would recommended to anyone needing a quiet, cozy, private getaway/place to stay.

    Rose2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Jake and Catherine were incredible hosts. Very helpful with local tips and helped us get the fire going in the place! Highly recommended!

    Rami2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Jake and Catherine were friendly, helpful, and communicative hosts. The guesthouse was thoughtfully laid out and well equipped with everything you'd need for a short weekend trip. The space felt especially cozy with the wood-burning fireplace and views overlooking the expansive, snow-covered property. We'd definitely stay here again.

    Jas2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Great host!

    Aaron 2019-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • Hands down the coziest cabin! Jake and Catharine are thoughtful and super responsive, and even as remote as it is, we found the place without a problem. It's a terrific place to unwind and curl up with a good book. We also loved being able to walk to Russell's for breakfast and Brushland for dinner. Bovina is a quiet understated town, and we would stay there again in a heartbeat!

    Nancy2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • Everything an Airbnb should be. It's private, on a beautiful property, with little touches like a shower head that you can adjust to your height, good books to peruse through, and a coffee maker and mini fridge to store your goods. Highly recommend.

    Marty2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • we had an incredibly relaxing weekend and plan on coming back.

Built in 1884, the White House exudes all of the charm of a rural abode with the simplicity of being right on Main Street, sitting just a stone’s throw from Brushland Eating House and a short drive from the towns of Andes and Delhi.
With ample space to unpack and spread out, our cozy farmhouse boasts separate living and dining rooms thoughtfully appointed with Dairy Boom-era antique seating for stoking the pellet stove and sharing a paper in the morning, a Summit range and old wash station in the Galley Kitchen proves plenty of space for whipping up eggs or testing a pie recipe, The General’s Office allows you to work remotely (or better yet, dabbling in watercolor), a clawfoot tub means soaking the day away and three bedrooms awash in sunlight and dressed with crisp white linen and plush feather comforters are the recipe for a perfect night’s sleep.
A four-season escape brimming with natural abundance, Bovina is still a well-kept secret in the resurgance that is year-round Catskills refuge. Cross-country skiing in the winter, Swimming-hole scouting in the summer, and guaranteed time to recharge no matter the weather, we find that our little town is the ultimate respite from hectic city life.
  • I've stayed at Sohail and Sarah's properties many times over the years and will continue to do so. Beautiful spaces, charm to no end and food that's worth the 3 hour drive from Manhattan.

    Giovanni2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • This house is incredibly beautiful, clean, and comfortable. The hosts have really put their heart and soul into this 19th century preservation. Truly stunning and we’ll be back again as soon as possible!!

    Nick2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • A stylish, unique house in an idyllic location. Sohail was extremely responsive and communication was easy. Thanks again.

    Ilana2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • The house is even more charming in person. The design touches are so thoughtful and make the space feel quite special and homey and comfortable. The restaurant across the street was one of the better meals we've had in quite some time!

    Leah2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Sohail and Sara are gracious hosts at Brushland Eating House, Dixie's in Delhi for an adult beverage to go, Russell's in Bovina Center, and as a host at one of their Airbnb's. We look forward to many more visits!

    Byron2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • An impeccably curated escape. Stunning hand-picked furniture and oddities. With a stove in the living room, as well as the master, we were kept warm as the snow fell. Bellies were very happy after eating at Brushland's. * Don't leave without trying their olive oil cake! We enjoyed every moment of quiet. Wish I could listen to that babbling brook everyday.

    Bridget2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful winter stay in this charming home! Perfect spot to relax by a fire or in the bath with a book and a glass of wine.

    Tracy2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a great time at Sohail & Sara’s place. The white house was much bigger than we expected and had plenty of cozy rooms to play cards and enjoy a fire. Our favorite bedroom was the creekside bedroom because you could fall soundly asleep and wake up to the sound of nature’s flowing creek out back. The slower pace of life. A drawn bath in the clawfoot tub. Morning walks to Russell’s general store. Dinner at Brushlands - everything was perfect - the ambience, the service and of course the food was incredible. Amazing wine. Also bought a bunch of amazing wine at Dixie’s. We will definitely be back.

This is a lovely 100+ year old farmhouse located on 35 beautiful acres that includes a horse barn and a large equestrian riding facility for you to walk through and enjoy. There are hiking trails, snow shoeing and cross country skiing available. We have snow shoes available - you would need your own ski gear. We are also located within 30 minutes of three ski centers. There are restaurants and shopping close by.
There is a small stream that runs through the property from which children love to catch frogs and salamanders. There is a small pond behind the house that is fun for fishing. There is also the Little Delaware running alongside the property which gives you the opportunity for some nice trout and bass fishing (fishing license needed). There is also a fire pit for guest use in front of the house and a barbeque on the deck.
  • Marie’s farmhouse is a fantastic place to stay- comfortable spacious and very clean. Hosts are very helpful -could not have been an easier stay -and in great area too!

    Terry2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Photos don't do the place justice, the property itself is gorgeous including the horse pastures and 6 acre pond. The house has everything you can think of and its so close neighboring towns. The host Marie and her husband are very responsive to any needs you may have & they will go above and beyond to make sure you're happy. I will definitely stay here again in the future and i recommend to all!!

    Martin2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • My Family and I just stayed at Maries place and pictures don't do it justice... I know the area very well and I cannot imagine a better value! An entire house, beautiful horses, farmhouse on location, private lake, beautiful porch and super clean. We loved it.

    Chris2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • We spend the July 4th long weekend at this gorgeous place. We were 7 adults, 1 toddler and 1 infant and we were all perfectly comfortable. Marie and her husband are wonderful hosts and they even let us meet their horses and cats and use their paddle boat in the beautiful pond. Needless to say it is the perfect place if you have little kids or if you love to be surrounded by natural beauty. We have bookmarked this place for future vacations!

Slip into a hot tub surrounded by conifers and birch trees on eight acres of rolling hillside property. Swim in a beautiful, private pond and end your night relaxing by the fire pit. *Note: While our Air BnB Plus photo shoot was taken in the winter, the cabin is a fantastic year-round getaway, beautiful in every season.
Inside this 2- bdrm Catskills cabin, you'll find an open living/kitchen space with comfy couches and wood stove. Outside, there's a wrap-around deck with grill and hot tub. The cabin sits mountainside on eight beautiful acres of meadows, forest, a fantastic swimming pond and a fire pit.

  • Pamela & Alan were very accommodating. The hot tub was glorious! Perfect winter getaway.

    Lauren2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Where to begin...everything about Alan and Pamela’s cabin was perfect. Quiet and secluded, but it’s a quick drive to town and Alan was easy to reach. The highlight of the weekend was watching the sunset and then viewing the stars from, all the hot tub. Winter, spring, summer, or fall– I plan to come back!

    Lauren2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Pamela & Alan were very thoughtful and helped me plan my trip. As far as the accommodations go, it couldn’t have been better! I will definitely be back!

    Adam2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • The place was excellent, very relaxing. Everything we hoped for.

    Matt2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Bliss. Snow blanketed tranquility surrounded this warm artful cabin. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook at home. Wifi worked well. The hot tub was close to the back door for dashes through snow to steamy delight. We should come back in every season for quarterly rejuvenation.

    Jean2020-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • If you were looking to stay at a cabin in the woods, look no further. Alan and Pamela are very accommodating and thoughtful. The cabin was very clean, stylish and it will definitely give you the relaxing and isolated vibe you want when you think "cabin in the woods." You also can't beat the hot tub with the wilderness surrounding you. We'll definitely be staying here again.

    Daryl2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Pam and Alan’s place is super accessible and is in heart of Bovina Center. The towns near by are a short drive. The place was stocked with kitchen utensils and everything we needed to cook food. They have amazing utilities including the hot tub, great movie collection and full access to open lands and a outdoor fireplace. We really loved staying at there Airbnb.

  • Dry Town Tavern is beautifully renovated and restored. Tastefully decorated. Very clean. Kim was responsive and helpful. We loved staying there and walking to Bruschlands Eating House for a delicious meal. All nestled in the bucolic rolling hills of the Catskills. Definitely coming back. Great getaway.

    Megan2019-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • What a special place! Kim is so thoughtful - there's a fully stocked liquor cabinet, bookshelf and stereo system. We even enjoyed the peanut snacks left for us. Kim's instructions were very thorough. It was super easy accessing the house. Kim also has great design taste -- it felt like we were walking into a modern Anthropologie with a small-town charm and easy sensibility. We had such a lovely stay at the Dry Tavern Inn! Can't wait to come back when the restaurant is opened! Bovina was a beautiful, charming town, and we experienced such a warm, adventurous fall weekend.

    Laura2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Do not miss this absolutely charming, home in a lovely, peaceful town! The owners did not miss any details. You must look at all the fabulous touches that makes this place so special. Tuck yourself away, surrounded by the stellar Catskill Mountains! There were a few fantastic eateries you can walk to in a few minutes or drive 15 min to nearby town for moe fun things to do. My husband and I agree we would go back without hesitation! If you need a break from a hectic life(ours was an escaoe from NYC)this is the place for you. Perfect mix of country living with modern convenience!

  • Kim's space is the absolute cutest! I booked this for some vendors for my wedding which was held nearby, and they could not stop raving about the intricate details, local elements/products, history, and amazing experience they had. I cannot wait to book again just so I can check it out myself!

Cottager's Bottom: an eccentric 3-bedroom cottage in the village of Bovina, with land rolling down to a private stream and views across fields. Restored with appropriate peculiarity, retaining the dyed-in-the-wool vernacular of what was once a tannery, the telephone operator's house and now a family home. It's an original. Private and rural, yet steps from the village store and the sleepy life of this unique Catskills village. Come cook, eat, gather, watch movies and, for a moment, live here.
Built in the mid-1850's, Cottager's Bottom was cobbled together from two little old houses that met in the village and decided to spend the rest of their lives glued to each other. Being stuck together, their layout and character owe little to the traditional village home. Rooms turn up where they're not expected, combine, stumble into one another. It's a little maze of doors and corridors, with its own whimsical narrative; a paean to living creatively. The heart of the house is a vaulted room consisting of a rustic, open-plan kitchen which rolls down an accidental slope into a cosy living room with a massive couch, wood-burning stove, heaps of books, 1970's turntable, amp and speakers. An iPhone plays just fine over the wireless Apple TV network, but we hope you'll lose heart trying and put on a record instead. We have records. And in lieu of television, there's a wall-sized screen that deploys in front of the window when needed, turning the room into a fireside movie theatre. Use our Criterion Collection, Mubi, Netflix and Hulu accounts or any other account you have on that there telephone gadget of yours. The front door opens directly into the kitchen, which has the semblance of a workshop. Counters are iron-edged bowling-alley lanes. Floating shelves are old pine from a decommissioned factory in New Jersey. The sink was stolen from Kai and John. The kitchen table has been with us for 20 years and is etched with the names of friends and a few strangers. The stove is a 4 burner Viking that lights with matches, the fridge a SMEG from Italy. The floors are wood and frequently not perpendicular to the floor. If you drop anything spherical you'll find it a few minutes later in the southwest corner of the living room. There are no cupboards, just shelves; everything is visible, to hand, ready to be used. By you as well as us. Which is emblematic of the experience of staying here. It's a home, not a pared-down Airbnb rental. We move out, the house is cleaned, you move in. Everything that was ours is now yours. And vice-versa at the end. Shelves and mason jars are full of supplies, spices, condiments. The stuff you'd expect to find in your own kitchen is here too. There are copper saucepans, steel frying pans, iron skillets, dutch ovens and every tool and implement you'd expect in a well-used kitchen. Appliances include a stand-mixer, food processor, Vitamix, rice-cooker, toaster, Bialetti stovetop espresso makers, Italian ice-cream maker, donabe, coffee grinder. Plates, bowls, cups, glasses, flatware have been gathered along the way and woven into their own storyline. We leave Italian espresso coffee and PG Tips teabags from England, (as well as WWII teapots to brew them in). We'll also have local milk and eggs waiting for you. If you're looking for a sterile rental with six IKEA bowls and a plastic corkscrew, this isn't it. High-speed Fios wireless internet throughout. Movies stream instantly. The kitchen has a door onto an unheated three-season interior porch, fashioned from old planks, salvaged stained-glass windows, mirrors and clown paintings. It's the perfect room for reading or composing your screenplay about wide-eye people from the city who move to the country and go slowly insane. Pass through a door taken from a catholic girl's school in Elmira onto the open deck, which feels vaguely like the prow of a ship overlooking Bovina's self-vaunted fields and hills. Sip coffee at the beer-garden table or scrape off the ceramic grill and start BBQ-ing stuff from local farms. Wander down the hill to the stream and fields. There's loads of mint in the stream for lamb or mojitos (or lamb mojitos) and a 9-foot picnic table by the water which threatens every year to be swept away by the floods, but was there last time we looked. Dangle your feet in the water, gaze across open fields to the barns and roofs of the old creamery in the distance. The gable-end wall of the kitchen constitutes the end of one little house and the beginning of another. The attached building is a full floor higher. At ground-level there is an open office/library, windows facing north and east. An old steel workbench serves as a desk, there's an IBM electric typewriter and Apple display (which you're welcome to plug your laptop into), a wall of books, old, new, rare, odd. This room has its front door to the path and adjoins: Winnie's bedroom - cosy, made like a ship's cabin, with elevated double bed, cubbies and it's own little built-in desk area looking down the fields to the stream. In all cases mattresses are great, bedding and towels from Muji are, of course, provided. What kind of place would expect somebody to bring their own sheets? Each bedroom has an additional portable electric heater for flatlanders who happen to run chilly in the morning. The library adjoins the spacious bathroom (proudly the only one in the house) with antique claw-foot tub and shower, an old pedestal sink and heated Toto 'washlet' toilet - a unique sensory undercarriage experience. There are plentiful towels, hairdryer, and a window that looks south to the hills. There's also soap and shampoo. Between the kitchen and library a narrow, steep set of stairs take you up to two bedrooms: Dusty's bedroom is open-plan, with a full-size old iron bed. Pass through this to: The big bedroom with views to the south, the stream, fields, hills and beyond. The sound of running water at night (and birdsong in the morning) are abiding characteristics of sleeping in this room. Starlings are determined nesters above the windows, so no, that scratching is not a Victorian child trapped in the attic. The room has a king-size bed with redwood plank headboard, zinc shelves and cupboard. it also also has its own free-standing clawfoot tub, for languid bathing privacy and a rustic frisson of romance. The tub, full of hot water, goes well with a spritz Campari. The basement is rough and unfinished, but has a washer and dryer which are yours to use. There's loads of dry, seasoned firewood stacked in front of the house for use in the wood stove downstairs. And off-road parking for 3 cars, as well as an old wooden garage which we use for storage. The village of Bovina preens itself on having become the destination of choice in the northwestern Catskills. It's a pretty, tiny, no-stoplight hamlet. The only businesses are the village store - Russell's (which we have to point out, is pretty great) and Brushland Eating House, with a locally sourced dinner menu, wine and beer. Both places are a quiet, relaxing meander down Main Street. Bovina has trails, streams, hills, a tiny library, a museum that opens once a year or not at all, and a playground. And that's it. This is spectacular biking country. Whatever you're looking for, it's here. Undulating, quiet roads with good climbs. Dirt roads into the hills. Old, rough fire trails for the truly manly. There's a great indoor swimming pool and gym over Bovina Mountain in Arkville, open all day every day. We have a close relationship with the well-known pizza restaurant Table on Ten in Bloomville. Head over and they'll greet you with giddy enthusiasm and wood-fired pizza, salads, weekend brunch. But eating, farmstanding, antiquing aside, the main reason to stay here is to kick back, hang out, cook, belong, wander down to the stream and treat the house as your home. We're not encouraging you to wander or to go out at all, actually. Once you've gathered local food from the farmstands and markets, we suggest you don't get in your car again until you leave. Instead, stay home the entire time and listen to Serge Gainsbourg, flipping the record every 24 minutes whilst slow-braising local pork shoulder and perfecting your absinthe-tinged Manhattan. With a trunkful of groceries, wine and beer, there's not a lot of reasons to roam.
  • What an incredible place... amazing kitchen with everything you could possibly need plus more, milk and eggs waiting for us on arrival with fire roaring. Walking distance to Brushland and Russels. Julian was super accommodating and answered any question within minutes. Can’t wait to come back!

  • This is a special place. Stylishly appointed, great view, quiet location...it has it all.

  • Cottagers Bottom is without a doubt the perfect getaway. Curated, crafted, cozy, and clever, I am in awe of Julian's work on the house. If you cook, this place is perfect and has all you would ever need to make and enjoy a perfect meal. The bedroom bathtub was something I barely even knew I needed in my life, but now I am fantasizing about getting one myself. The projector and wood stove and Bovina itself were lovely. Ultimately, words don't capture how wonderful this spot is--just trust me.

  • Julian’s home is unbelievable. This an incredibly special place and a definite must stay if you are looking for a great time to spend in a home with friends. We cooked a beautiful meal, listened to records and let the heat from the fire warm us all up. If you’re even considering a visit to Bovina, this is the place for you!

  • Very relaxing setting to work and study.

  • Cottager's Bottom is the perfect getaway from the city. Julian's home is warm, welcoming, and stylish. The amazing wood stove keeps the place cozy and warm while you're watching Neflix (or any streaming service) on the amazing projector screen. The kitchen is well-stocked with anything you need to make a great meal. The beds are all extremely comfortable, better than expected. Pillows were not too thick or thin. The bathroom is stocked with anything that you might need as well. Not to mention the heated toilet seat turned out to be something I never knew I needed! The house is located just a quick walk to Brushland Eating House for great dining, or Russel's General Store for any small items you may need. There is also a big supermarket just 15min away. Before arriving, Julian provides an amazing welcoming letter that goes into great detail. He was also available via text and was very quick to reply. All in all, it was the perfect winter escape we were looking for. Hope to be back soon!

  • Cottagers Bottom resides in one of my favorite little towns/areas upstate. Bovina is so charming. Brushland and Russell's general store are true gems. We came out for a wintry weekend and found the cottage very cozy with the wood stove. It is right in town, so you can walk to the restaurant/ general store in just a few short minutes. In the summer I can imagine it would be lovely to use the firepit and dip your feet into the stream. I appreciated the large kitchen, and we enjoyed cooking meals here. The beds were very comfortable, and the cabin is eclectic and unique. I would definitely recommend for anyone who wants a cozy stay in Bovina!

Although I did not meet Amanda until the morning of my departure she was very easy to reach and very responsive. I highly suggest staying with Amanda and her crew for your next trip to Delaware county!

  • This is one of the most well-appointed AirBnbs I've ever stayed in. Every feature, right down to the light switches, is thoughtfully designed and beautifully executed.

  • My boyfriend and I so enjoyed our stay at Dry Town Tavern. The space was comfortable, clean and modern, and conveniently located down the street from one of our favorite restaurants, Brushland. We were pleasantly surprised by the amount of amenities provided: the kitchen was stocked with coffee, tea and sparkling water, and there was a full liquor cabinet that guests had free access to. We would absolutely stay here again!

Calder House is owned by a Brooklyn based artist, Neil Powell. This stylish Bovina, NY retreat, situated on 15 acres of gardens and woodland smack in the heart of the Catskills, sleeps 8-10 comfortably with 4 bedrooms and 2.5 baths. Enjoy the large porch, fire pit, and in-ground pool. 15 minutes to ski slopes. Property managed by Betty Powell, a Bovina resident. Follow and tag us on Instagram: @calder_house
Calder House has the feeling of yesteryear with modern touches. Warm and inviting, it holds something for everyone. Gather in the kitchen and living room for a home cooked meal or after dinner games. Throughout the year roast marshmallows at the bonfire with enough benches for the whole family. In the Fall sip coffee on the front porch. On hot summer days cool off with a dip in the pool. Every season is spectacular in Bovina!
Bovina Center was founded in 1820 and is on the National Register of Historic Places. A drive through the town will prove that much of its history remains intact. Russell's Store, a 5-minute walk from Calder House, has been the town store for 200 years. Get a cup of coffee, pick up some local produce and find out that days news, just like they did back when. Delaware County is known for being a foodie destination and has plenty of activities to offer like hiking, mountain biking, antiquing and more.
  • What an amazing 10 day trip! Beautiful house in an amazing area of New York. Pool was wonderful on the hot days. House was gorgeous and the kitchen was the most well stocked kitchen I've ever been seen in Airbnb world. Thank you so much!!

  • What a glorious place! Bovina is a great little town and this house is truly amazing. Nice size rooms, fantastic kitchen + bbq, lovely pool. Betty was very helpful and easy to get hold of - also gave lots of tips for the area. Some of the rooms were fairly hot to sleep in but other than that we really cannot complain. Thanks again and we will definitely be returning!!

    Katharine2019-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect week end ! The house has everything you need (to cook and more...) ; even if the weather was not perfect we still been able to enjoy the pool, there is a lot of hikes around which is amazing. The house inside is just as expected (even better!) very nice - I highly recommend this place !

    Eloise2019-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • This place is so unbelievably lovely. The house is so homey and lovely with plenty of books to read, records to play, spices to use, and movies to watch. I came with a large group and everyone was completely stunned by the place. We have already talked about going back in the summer!

    Lex2019-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at Calder House! From the lovely interior to the local hotspots (be sure to check out Brushland and Russell's General store), our stay really felt like home, and we didn't want to leave! The house is large enough for a big group (we were a group of 6), and there's a ton of kitchen supplies and tools if you forget something (we made several meals and had everything we needed in the kitchen). Hopefully we'll be back in the summer to try out the pool. Thanks again to Neil & Betty!

    Madison2019-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Neil's place is fabulous! It's stylish, well equipped, unique, and located in the most idyllic town in the Catskills: Bovina Center. Cannot recommend enough.

  • This is great spot. Was able to walk into town to eat at Brushland (highly recommend), and had easy access to other local favorites (a hike on nearby state land, lunch at Wayside Cider's tap room, cycling on the near by rail trail). Good portions of each of our afternoons were spent reading by the pool. Our crew loves to cook, so the large, well appointed kitchen made of feel right at home. All four bedrooms are nice. Take advantage of the soaking tube if you can.

  • Johanna & Renaud’s place is a hidden gem and an incredibly relaxing and beautiful space. Highly recommend.

    Sebastian2020-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • Sparkling clean, stylish, quiet, warm, and cozy. The full kitchen allowed us to cook our own delicious meals while we enjoyed listening to music and making a fire in the stove. Netflix movie on the wide-screen TV was a real treat since we don't own a TV ourselves. Couldn't ask for a nicer getaway in the Catskills.

    Audrey2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Johanna & Renaud’s place is a lovely place to stay in Andes. It’s cozy, thoughtfully decorated and it gets really beautiful light during the day. We appreciated how quiet it was: it feels private and tucked away while still being a short three minute drive to the main street/Wayside Cider. The nursery was a huge bonus for us, we traveled with our 17 month old son. We really appreciated not having to bring up most of our baby gear!

    Tara2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Johanna & Renaud's place was great! Cute, clean and very close to downtown Andes. I was a bit skeptical about all the rules and fines they had as I had not seen that on other properties I've stayed at but everything turned out good! It was a great place to check out and relax as it is super quite in the area.

  • If you are looking for peace and tranquility, Susan’s place is perfect. The house is so clean, very well appointed and complete with amenities. I am a traveller who brings the “entire kitchen” to make sure I have all what I need, but Susan beat me to it. It’s got everything! I can’t wait to experience the house at Christmas time! Thank you, Susan!!!

    Cecille2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • This house is even nicer in real life than in the photos. My family of 5 was very comfortable. We LOVED the deck and spent most of our time out there morning through night when we were not out and about. Susan thought of everything-the house is very well-appointed.

  • The Williams Guest House was the perfect “home away from home” during my family’s stay in Bovina. Susan could not have been more welcoming and helpful as we scheduled our visit. On our arrival, we were greeted with a personal note and a yummy loaf of homemade banana bread. The accommodations were spacious, sparkling clean, and generously equipped with all necessities. Beds were cozy and comfortable, showers were great, and the kitchen nicely accommodated all our needs. There was lovely space for relaxing both indoors and out. Add to all this the beautiful and peaceful surroundings, and we only wished we could have stayed longer! We hope to return on our next visit to the area.

    Janet2019-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • Susan is an outstanding host. Her place is beautiful, private, super clean and well equipped. She responded promptly and made sure all our questions were answered and we felt comfortable in her place. Highly recommended to anyone who is looking for a getaway in Catskills!

    Margo2019-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • From check in to check out Susan was very quick to answer any questions I had. Place was immaculate and much bigger than I thought. Once we entered the home we were amazed when Susan left us a homemade banana bread with a personalized letter greeting us and leaving us all possible information for the house that we may need. Each room was stocked with fresh linen and towels and the home layout was spacious and roomy. We were overly surprised with the giant mud room and extra room in basement. Property was plowed prior to our arrival. The kitchen was fully stocked and all appliances were provided If there were any negatives, first it’s out of Susans hands but the there is no cell phone reception (might even be a good thing). But WiFi was provided as well as plenty of channels on the tv. All in all it was a wonderful experience and I will be staying on the property again!

We think Bovina is the 'gem of the Catskills' and this catbird seat above Brushland Eating House is just the place to take it in. Smack dab in the middle of main street, you've access to the towns bounty - farms, mountains & delicious fare.
If bucolic is what you’re after, Bovina is your haven. Our little hamlet is connected to the Catskills by miles of winding country roads that lead past grazing cattle, ski mountains (only 40 min from Belleayre and an hour from Plattekille), wildflower fields and century-old barns. Just about two and half hours Northwest of the Five Boroughs you could be here by lunchtime - which in these parts, consists of a cherry soda, trout spread and a dip in the lake. Spacious yet cozy, the apartment has welcomed writers, lovebirds, next-door neighbors and wedding guests alike. Lofted ceilings sport rustic wooden beams and let all of that mountain breeze in through big wooden windows. A generously-sized kitchen boasts butcher block countertops and ample cabinet space, but don’t worry if your knife skills are a little rusty - just give a whistle and we’ll save you a seat downstairs in the dining room. And whether you’ve come alone on sabbatical or travel in a pack, two large, thoughtfully appointed bedrooms and a bath & a half provide comfortable sleeping and bathing quarters. Design books, classic novels, board games and a radio stock the shelves for lazy afternoon or post-hike relaxing.
Bovina is chock-full of agriculture - dairy, veggie, beef and poultry farms, as well as producers of maple syrup & honey. Take a hike to forage wild edibles, pick a few wildflowers, dip your toes in the stream or watch the world go by on the second-floor porch.
  • A beautiful apartment in the picture postcard perfect hamlet of Bovina Center.

  • A lovely (and very cosy) home in bucolic Bovina run by a very communicative host who also operates the restaurant on the ground floor, Brushland Eatery. Highly recommend getting a reservation. You know someone :) Note on one of the bedrooms: it is a loft space so not fully enclosed but there were no issues with noise or privacy. Hot shower, warm towels, plenty of utensils in the kitchen, though we did not cook. Perfect spot for a getaway to the western Catskills area. Will stay again!

We want to share with our guests this description of the town of Andes by DONNA PAULAUG. New York Times, 2003 I FOUND Andes by mistake -- I drove into the village and felt an immediate affinity with the place,'' said Tom Munro, a Manhattan fashion photographer who shoots for Vogue and Details. He made a wrong turn that day three years ago, but now he owns a home in Andes, a town in Delaware County, N.Y., where unblemished farmland and rolling meadows, juxtaposed against the panoramic backdrop of the Catskill Mountains, create a landscape both pastoral and majestic. He is not alone in his discovery. Dozens of other Manhattanites whose city lives are in the worlds of the arts and publishing have second homes in Andes. And they have left their imprint. Artists and artisans, theatrical people and designers not only have moved in, but have also revitalized the Village of Andes, the only village in the town of the same name, by opening appealing and unusual shops on its small Main Street commercial strip. Much of this new life can be attributed to the energy and vision of Brooke Alderson, the actress who played John Travolta's aunt in ''Urban Cowboy.'' With her husband, Peter Schjeldahl, the art critic for The New Yorker, she had already been living there part-time for more than 20 years when, in 1996, she retired from acting and opened Brooke's Variety in the village -- a store filled with hundreds of quirky items, from nickel candy to antique beds. Soon she was encouraging other New Yorkers who owned weekend homes in the town to open shops, and several of them did. ''Andes went from a place that was depressed to a destination,'' said Lee Melahn, who with his partner, Rick Shaver, owns Mercantile, a village antiques shop specializing in vintage linens. ''Six years ago, you couldn't spend more than five minutes in Andes. Today it is often hard to find a place to park on Saturday.'' Mr. Melahn and Mr. Shaver, both graphic and interior designers in New York, own a house in the village and spend weekends there with their 6-year-old daughter, Emmy. Weekenders continue to arrive, drawn by the combination of pristine mountain air and interesting neighbors. Many, like Mr. Munro, have bought and restored old houses. Until recently, prices were relatively low, but they are climbing as the word about Andes spreads. Now, weekenders often build houses on lots of several acres. The Scene Andes is still more about land than people, especially outside the village. ''I walk through the woods to the village and go to the diner for breakfast,'' said Mr. Munro, who grew up in Norfolk, England. ''I don't pass a car or a person for the entire 25-minute walk.'' (...) Andes was once a bustling agricultural community with hundreds of dairy farms; now only four of appreciable size are left. The town has 110 miles of roads, many of which originally led to farms. The roads follow the water courses, weaving a path through the landscape. Many are unpaved. ...... The downstate metropolitan area and Andes have another important connection, aside from the people who go back and forth between them. The Pepacton Reservoir, covering 7,000 acres in the center of the town, is a major source of New York City's water supply. Watershed consciousness is big up there. The Catskill Watershed Corporation, initiated in 1997, protects Andes from industrial development.
  • House is very nice and clean. Bed is super comfy and location is walking distance to town of Andes

  • Right down the street from all of the cute shops and restaurants in Andes.

  • Wonderful place! Close to everywhere! Nice details all over the house :)

  • We had a great time staying here. It’s a very spacious house on beautiful property. The room was perfect for our needs, and very comfortable. No need to fear the dolls in the upstairs window keeping a watchful eye over the street below. They didn’t come to life during our stay, and if they did, I’m sure they’d be benevolent.

    Sean2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful sized room and beautiful home!

    Christina2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful home, filled with many cozy places to relax and unwind. The bedroom we stayed in is large and very comfortable. The claw-foot bathtub in the bathroom is lovely. The house has places to go to read, play the piano, play pool, watch TV...plenty to do. The grounds are nicely landscaped and it is very peaceful to sit on the bench by the stream. The house is also within walking distance to some cute shops and restaurants. We enjoyed our stay.

  • We were in need of a place to sleep for our daughters college family weekend. Airbnb came up with several and we chose the dollhouse. Wow are we glad we did. This incredible restored home was not only interesting to explore, but immaculate very comfortable. The town of Andes was a sweet surprise. We will definitely be returning. The Dollhouse, Two Old Tarts restaurant and the cider mill made what was supposed to be a place to lay our heads for the night into a perfect getaway.

The moment you enter Bovina, you know you're someplace special. With rolling hills, stately old farms and a lot of land to spare, it's a breath of fresh air straight out of a postcard. Our 4 bedroom home sits quietly on a hilltop looking out at an expansive view of the mountains. The sun pours into the many windows all day. Grill out on the back deck while you play in the large backyard. Bring the gang onto the front deck for sunset drinks and roasted marshmallows before a movie together.
The house is completely private on about 4 acres. The roof next to the house is that of the attached garage. Each of the bedrooms has a new mattresses and the 4th bedroom can be used as an office and reading room or a kids room. It is set up with two twin beds arranged in an L shape, a guitar and rugs for hanging out.
If you turn left out of our driveway, you're a quick drive to Brushland Eating House, one of our all-time favorite restaurants. It's a stylish old farmhouse with delicious, locally sourced food, a great wine list and friendly service. Try the hand rolled pasta and the chocolate tart! On the same Main Street, there's a cute playground and a heaven-sent newly renovated general store called Russell's with great breakfast and lunch sandwiches. If you turn right out of our driveway, you'll drive through gorgeous farmsteads and arrive to Table on Ten in about 10 minutes. On Friday and Saturday nights, they serve amazing brick oven pizza. We are also 10 minutes from the adorable town of Andes, with antique shops, a great vintage shop, a cider house and lovely cafes. We'll give you all of the the details upon booking. Of course, you're directly in the center of many hikes, swimming holes and kayaking spots.
  • I am already looking forward to my next stay! Lauren’s home is welcoming, stylish, immaculately kept, and offers thoughtful touches for a truly comfortable stay. The surroundings are so beautiful and peaceful! Views of the rolling hillside can be taken in from the cozy home (which was perfect during our winter visit), as well as from the front and back decks (which I’m already envisioning on another visit in the warmer months; we didn’t take advantage of the chiminea on the front deck but certainly could have enjoyed that and stargazing at night). After enjoying quiet mornings at the house, we ventured out to nearby Andes and Margaretville, following great recommendations clearly provided by Lauren. And culinary highlight Brushland Eating House is right down the road! Lauren was extremely responsive in planning the trip and even anticipated our needs communicating current winter weather conditions. Such a lovely and relaxing getaway!

  • What an amazing house! Much better than pictures. Beautiful enterior and everything is renovated and new. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything you will need. We love to cook and entertain so we had everything what we needed. The views are beautiful all around. Our kids had so much fun on the snow near the house. Highly recommend.

    Emilia2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Cute house with everything we needed! Stylish and comfortable.

    Ashley2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Our family had the most wonderful week in Bovina. Lauren's home and the surrounding views are absolutely magical. It was the perfect place to get some much needed time away, and we were quickly able to rest, relax, and enjoy the slow pace. The mountain views from every window and the warm and welcoming energy of Lauren's space made for a perfect start to our new year. Lauren was extremely responsive whenever we had questions, and she went out of her way to ensure we felt welcome. We hope to be back soon!

    Elizabeth2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • It’s a good place if you want to be away from everything. However the only downside I found to it it’s that if you’re expecting to just seat back, relax & maybe watch movies with your group, it won’t be possible. There’s no TV in living area. Only a small tv in exercise room and a tv in master bedroom, which the location is not great, as it seats below the height of the bed making it very uncomfortable to watch tv there. Other than this good place overall.

Homegrown Farmstead offers visitors an assortment of cozy nests for farm stay accommodations. We have three guest rooms available in the shared farmhouse (named Shelter, Burrow, and Habitat) and one private studio apartment (called The Outpost) which is on the same property just behind and up the hill from the farmhouse but in a separate building with its own driveway. Homegrown is a small farm in Bovina, NY located about 2.5 hours Northwest of NYC at the edge of the Catskill Mountains.
THE FARM - HOMEGROWN Homegrown is set on 25 acres near the top of Bramley Mountain (elevation ~ 2800 feet). Approximately half of the property is wooded with a meandering seasonal creek and trails for exploring. The other half of the property is comprised of green rolling pastures (where you can spot Homegrown’s lambs, goats, piglets, chickens, and ducks), orchards of apple, pear, and peach trees, and over 300 blueberry, raspberry, blackberry, and currant bushes. We also have a large organic fruit and vegetable garden and a vast open sky above the pastures for your evening stargazing pleasure. THE GUEST ROOM – HABITAT This listing is for Habitat which is one of three bedrooms in the farmhouse. Habitat offers a bit more privacy from other guests as it is the only guest room on the second floor and further away from any activity near the main entrance and common areas on the ground floor. This room is across the hall from the owner’s home office (which is generally only used on Fridays). Also across the hall is a full bathroom with standup shower which is generally not used by other guests or the owners. Upon leaving your room you enter a large open library / reading area with small couch for lounging (also generally not used by other guests). Habitat is also on the same floor as the owner’s master bedroom which is in a new addition at the opposite end of the house and has its own full en suite bathroom (allowing both the owner and our Habitat guest lots of privacy). Habitat has slanted shed ceilings which can make it feel smaller than the other two guest rooms in the farmhouse; however, this room seems to be a guest favorite as if offers more privacy and separation from other guests. Nevertheless, Habitat guests have access to the fully stocked common kitchen, dining area, and shared living room on the ground floor. Habitat has one window which looks out over an orchard of apple and pear trees and large vegetable garden. The window has privacy blinds and room darkening curtains. Habitat offers a queen bed with crisp white linens and high quality pillows you may be tempted to take home with you. The space is well appointed with quaint, thoughtfully selected furniture and accents and features a large cow hide rug that we absolutely love. A triangle folding sleeping mat from Thailand is also available for use if extra sleeping room is needed for an additional guest; it is substantially thick and quiet comfortable.** ** Sleeping Mat - If you bring your own single or twin size linens for the sleeping mat then there is no additional cost for the mat itself (unless you exceed 2 guests). However, there is a $20 linen rental charge if you prefer to use our linens for the sleeping mat (linens for the queen bed are provided). We only add the sleeping mat to the room upon request so, if you need it, please let us know at the time of booking that you would like the mat and whether you will need to rent linens. The space offers TV with Roku, high speed fiber WiFi, small portable Bluetooth speaker, drawers, closet space, a luggage rack, access to an iron and ironing board, flexible check in times and the ability for guests to check themselves in with a key code. The space tends to stay at moderate temperatures in the summer but we offer a window air conditioner unit in hotter months as well as a fan. In the colder months the space has electric baseboard heat, an additional space heater, and lots of cozy blankets. We also have heated kitchen floors (and a pellet stove in the living room but this is used at the owner’s discretion depending on the weather). The bedroom door can be locked from the inside when you are in the room. There is not a way to lock it from the outside when you leave.
We like the notion that we’re in the middle of nowhere yet just down the road from everywhere. Homegrown is located on a quiet mountain road and feels like a remote and peaceful retreat. However, it is quite centrally located and easily accessible to the surrounding towns. • Bovina Center - Five minutes drive down a dirt road past a cattle farm will bring you to downtown Bovina Center where you can enjoy a fabulous egg sandwich at Russell’s General Store or enjoy whatever mouth-watering dishes Sohail is serving up at Brushlands Eating House (don’t miss this Catskills gem). • Andes - The little hamlet of Andes is an 8 minute drive down Rt 28 where you’ll find Wayside Cidery, Two Old Tarts, wine and antique shops, a darling ceramics shop, and the Andes Hotel Bar (a local favorite watering hole). • Bloomville - We are ten minutes from Bloomville where Inez and her team serve wood-fired pizzas by string lights on a lawn under the stars (indoor seating also available) at Table on Ten. • Delhi - Twelve minutes drive in the opposite direction takes you to the heart of Delhi where you’ll find more practical necessities (i.e., gas station, grocery store, pharmacy, Tractor Supply, hardware store, as well as a main drag of bars, restaurants and shops (including Dixie’s, a great local wine store, and Good Cheap Food, a health food shop offering fresh local produce). We are about 35 minutes from Oneonta, an hour from Cooperstown, 30 minutes to Margaretville and under an hour to four ski resorts – Belleayre, Platekille, Hunter and Windham. There are also countless options for hiking trails throughout the local area as well as all of Delaware County and the surrounding counties.

  • Incredible space in a beautiful small town in the Catskills! Highly recommend staying here!

  • Bovina Center is a secret gem. The guest house at Dry Town Tavern is beautifully finished with all the essentials provided. We seemed to have technical difficulties with the Airbnb system, but Kim was on top of it and made sure that our stay happened without a hitch.

    Robert2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • The Dry Town Tavern was one of the most beautiful Airbnb’s I’ve stayed at. All of the decor was impeccable, and I loved the local touches (all outlined in the welcome booklet when we arrived). The bed was very comfortable, and Kim even has different pillow options available to meet all guests needs (and outlined in the booklet as well). The kitchen was also stocked with basic necessities for the perfect weekend (caffeine, cliff bars, and wine!) Kim was very responsive throughout the reservation, check-in, and check-out process, making for an easy, seamless trip. I would highly recommend this Airbnb and hope to be back in the future!

    Zara2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful house renovated with extraordinary care! Every detail was perfect—a super comfortable bed, a beautiful bathroom, and cool things to read in the shared living room. And, Kim accommodated us very quickly at the last minute (we accidentally went upstate without exactly planning it out, so didn’t have a place to stay). We contacted her through AirBnB at about 5:00 and were all set up by 5:10. Very nice.

  • This home was perfect! The location was perfect for us. The home was immaculate, clean, beautiful and comfortable. Kim, the host is very kind and very quick to respond to any questions. Thank you so much!

  • This centrally located farmhouse is beautifully renovated and ideal for a couple looking for an idyllic, peaceful weekend in the Catskills. The house offers a wonderful set of amenities including fine bedding, soft towels and great common areas. Kim was an excellent host and made this last minute trip totally seamless. Book this place and be sure to stop by Wayside Cider for a nightcap!

  • Wonderful stay and delicious dinner in the restaurant! Thanks so much!

    Michael2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Sohail's place was the perfect spot for a visit to Bovina. It has everything you need plus beautiful touches too. Highly recommended!

    Rebecca2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a wonderful time staying at Sohail's "Behind Brushland" apartment. It's a perfect home base for exploring this region of the Catskills; there are several nearby hikes (e.g., Palmer Hill, Shavertown) and towns (e.g., Andes, Hobart, Bloomville) to visit, and Bovina Center itself is tranquil and charming, with a general store that serves delicious breakfast sandwiches just a short walk from the apartment. The apartment is bright, airy, and very spacious, yet cozy and inviting throughout. It's a two-bed, 1.5-bath apartment with plenty of space for two couples or a family. If you're bringing a dog, there is a large field just to the back of the house that is quite convenient and very enjoyable for your dog. On top of the lovely apartment, location, and canine-friendly atmosphere, the big bonus is being steps from Sohail's restaurant, Brushland Eating House, where we had the best meal of our trip (and one of the best we've had this year). All of these things makes Sohail's place truly unique and worth not just visiting, but revisiting. Very highly recommended.

  • As stunning as the photos, even cozier and comfortable than expected.

    Ann2019-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • This is a PERFECT spot for anyone looking to explore Bovina and the surrounding areas. It makes for a smooth entry in every way. We loved our stay. The place was just perfect.

    Lara2019-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely, spacious and stylish place to stay, attached to the owner's remarkable restaurant Brushland Eating House.

    Jule2019-10-20T00:00:00Z

A short drive to Table on Ten, Union Grove Distillery and the Pakatakan Farmers Market in Roxbury.
  • This was our family’s 2nd time staying at Meg & Chad’s. Sadly we didn’t have any snow on their perfect sledding driveway this trip, but we thoroughly enjoyed the fireplace, hot tub, privacy & beautiful deck views.

  • Meg & Chad’s home is perfect for a peaceful mountain retreat. The house is cozy and stylish with any amenity you may need. There are incredible views from every window and a hot tub and fireplace that were ready to use upon arrival! We had a wonderful stay!

  • Meg and Chad were most accommodating. Stylish and quant is was a very relaxing 😎 and memorable vacation. The most comfortable beds too!

    Lynn2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • I highly recommend Meg and Chad’s home for your next vacation. My husband and I enjoyed a snowy mountain getaway with our 3 month old baby and this house really had it all. We especially loved all of the personal touches like the record player and vintage games. Our favorite moments were sitting by the fire enjoying some wine and also exploring the property and relaxing in the hot tub. Meg and Chad were the best hosts and responsive to my emails before and during the trip. We can’t wait to come back!

    Annie2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Meg & Chad's place is perfect. Its setting is absolutely gorgeous and secluded. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to venture into the Catskills.

  • Beautiful space and wonderful hosts! I would definitely go back!!

    Hallah2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • The Fisher & Quill house provided my wife and I with a perfect three day retreat recently. A Killer view from the front deck across the valley to the mountains beyond. A beautiful fireplace with a generous supply of wood laid on. A superb hot tub steps from the backdoor in a very secluded spot. A well stocked and modern kitchen, and a very comfortable bed with heated memory foam topper. Very clean and very well supplied with many thoughtful amenities. Locally grown meat and produce sold in small markets made meals a real treat. Why would you ever leave?

    Joseph2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Everything we wanted and more. Didn’t want to leave. Perfect place to unplug and relax!!

  • I cannot help but use superlatives if I were to describe Carol-Ann's place. We felt like home at her place. Carol-Ann was available in person the second day. The Place was clean, thoughtfully decorated with care to cater to even the smallest needs. We had a very pleasant stay and could not have asked for a better host and place. The place had the warmth that only a home can offer. Carol-Ann, thanks for being the caring person that you are. Your place embodies your care and thoughts. Thanks! Thanks! and Thanks! Our family has already made up our mind to make another visit to the area just to stay at your place! I will recommend Carol-Ann's place to anyone.

This beautiful victorian home built in 1910 is situated in the middle of the charming town of Andes. Located just steps away from Wayside Cider, Two Old Tarts, Antique stores and more. Walk to the Andes rail trail for a morning view or take a short drive to dozens more attractions. The house features a stunning working fireplace, dining area for six, backyard complete with fire pit, gorgeous antique soaking tub and the coziest couch you'll ever lay on. Come see what Andes is all about!
The space is meant for relaxation with sofa, daybeds and quilt covered beds in every room. Start a fire and kick back as you take in the home which features all original wood work from when it was first built. A full service kitchen with plenty of counter space allows you to make a masterful meal and the dining room comfortably seats six, although extra seating is available. Enjoy the giant soaking tub downstairs that looks out into an expansive backyard, or take a shower in the upstairs bathroom for use by the upstairs bedrooms. The backyard is large and features a small pond and a seating area around a fire pit. Perfect for conversation after a long day out in the Catskills or for making S'mores.
Andes is one of the most charming towns in the Catskills. Beautiful victorian homes line the streets while Main st is dotted with antique stores, a wine shop, a vintage clothing shop, restaurants, bars and breweries. Ultra hip Wayside cider is located directly behind the house meaning you can sip locally brewed spirits and walk 30 seconds back home. Two hiking trails are located within walking distance from the house, giving nature lovers their fill. For those with a car: Bushland Eating House is a mere 10 minute drive offering farm to table fare in a chic setting. The Blue Bee café in Delhi offers breakfast and lunch daily in retro digs. And Margaretville has an array of hiking trails from the town center. All within 15 minutes driving. Skiing at Bellayre or Plattekill is a short 30 minute drive from the house.
  • Gorgeous home located in the beautiful town of Andes. Looking forward to our next visit!

    Joe2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • The house is awesome and unique! The location is great and the owner is very nice and helpful :) We had a great time staying there for a long weekend.

    Elena2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • This house was absolutely amazing for a trip away with friends. The pictures are what caught my eye in the first place, and the house is equally stunning in person (and a bit larger than expected)! The fireplace worked beautifully and we spent a lot of time together in the living area. The couch is soft (perfect for reading), the daybed is lovely, and all of the bedrooms are incredibly comfortable. Seven of us slept very comfortably and we had an extra twin bed. It has all of the charm of an old house with a modern heating system. We did bleed the radiators when we arrived since some were not working right away, but it was very easy and a quick fix. The kitchen is functional and we cooked meals together, but I would recommend bringing a large pot/dish if you want to bake or cook something for a large group! The Wayside Cidery is also a 30 second walk away and a wonderful place for a meal and/or drink. We loved their ciders and brought some back with us. Spencer was a wonderful host. He was responsive throughout our stay, friendly, and gave great recommendations for where to stock up on groceries among other things. We had such a beautiful weekend together in this house and are already talking about when we can get back there for a summer visit to Andes and neighboring towns! This is a must stay.

    Hannah2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Spencer’s place was perfect for our needs. 4 couples, two with new babies, spent New Year’s Eve here. It’s right on Main Street Andes and you can walk everywhere. The local shops and restaurants are all amazing, and all the locals made us feel so welcome. Rooms are all a good size. The heat is radiator heat which can make the air a little dry but our apartment in nYC is also radiator heat so we were pretty used to that, but perhaps bring a small humidifier if that would bother you. There was a small leak on our first night in the place, from the upstairs bathroom into the dining room, and when we contacted Spencer about it he responded right away. It wasn’t a serious issue but it felt nice that he had responded so quickly. We have already talked about coming back again, maybe in the summer! We simply live this house and this town.

    Kevin2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Loved the very cool little town of Andes!! Enjoyed sitting by the fire in Spencer’s cozy house!!

    Jerry2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Spencer’s home is beautiful! We greatly enjoyed our time there. Such a lovely and peaceful stay. Thank you, Spencer, for being a great host.

    Emilia2019-12-25T00:00:00Z
  • Would definitely stay at Spencer’s place again. It was clean and super cute!

    Meghan2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • Spend Thanksgiving + the following weekend at Spencer's house. It was very cozy and well appointed. There were even a few toiletries in the bathrooms (soap, shampoo, etc), which was definitely appreciated. The house is very well located smack dab in the middle of Andes. Would definitely stay again!

THE GUEST SPACE - THE OUTPOST This listing is for the Outpost which is a large private studio apartment in a separate building from the farmhouse with a separate driveway (also used to access the on-site farm store and two additional garages). The Outpost has a roomy and separated “alcove” eat-in kitchen that is private and fully stocked (with seating for three) as well as a spacious en suite private full bath with standup shower. The Outpost offers one queen bed with crisp white linens and high quality pillows you may be tempted to take home with you. There is also a hand-made single bed which doubles as a couch during the day. Two single cushioned and partially inflatable sleeping mats are also available for additional guests. The Outpost was initially built by a prior owner to serve as a motorcycle instruction school (and was later repurposed as the Bovina Town Court before being renovated and converted into a studio apartment). As such, the front door of the Outpost opens onto to a large paved area that historically served as a motorcycle training course (and two of the windows look out over this area which is less picturesque than the other magical mountain views on the farm). However, the Outpost is separated from the farmhouse by rolling green pasture and rows of white birch trees and currant bushes which allows guests additional space and more privacy from other guests than the guest rooms in the shared farmhouse. The other two windows in the Outpost offer views of green pastures and birch trees rows. All windows have room darkening privacy curtains. Just outside the Outpost is a private fire pit where you can roast marshmallows and stargaze as well as several outdoor seating areas with gorgeous mountain-top views down the valley where you can see miles of lush green sloping land in spring and summer, a warm harvest of golds, reds and yellows in autumn, and billowing clouds and snowy peaks in winter. Please inquire with owner whether split wood for the fire pit is available for purchase on-site during your stay (we try to stock it but if we run out guests can purchase logs in Delhi). The space offers TV with Roku, high speed fiber WiFi, small portable Bluetooth speaker, drawers, closet space, a luggage rack, access to an iron and ironing board, flexible check in times and the ability for guests to check themselves in with a lock box. The space tends to stay at moderate temperatures in the summer but we offer a window air conditioner unit in hotter months as well as a fan. In the colder months the space has electric baseboard heat, an additional space heater, and lots of cozy blankets.

  • Hosts like Fabricia is the reason why I airbnb. She is warm, kind and real - I said it was our anniversary weekend and she even had a tea picked out just for us! Her place has character and provides the peace & calm one would hope for a weekend getaway. The estate itself stretches uphill for a perfect morning walk/hike. Will be coming back soon!

    Natalie2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely enjoyed our stay at The Old Farm House. The tranquil atmosphere and meditative views were exactly what we needed. The accommodations were cheerful and radiantly clean-- and breakfast was delicious. Thanks to Fabricia's guidance and helpful tips, we discovered some true gems in the local area. It was the perfect easy-to-reach escape from city stress. The drive itself-- taking us through the Catskills Park with pine trees and mountains and then rolling farmland-- was definitely part of the journey. We felt like we were in a different world--- one of trails to wander, open fields and rustic beauty. Adventuring to the nearby Catskills towns to window shop and graze some of our main activities. We LOVED our meal at Brushland Eating House in nearby Bovina. It's funny that we talk about how this trip was to to escape NYC....and end up dining under the roof of the husband and wife team of Brooklyn transplants who can roast a chicken of dreams. And no wonder, since they hailed from Frankie's on Court Street and Prime Meats (RIP! We miss it so....) -- two of our favorite places in Cobble Hill. Simplicity is so difficult, but can be perfection. That is how this entire weekend seemed to us--- accommodations, natural beauty, local tastes and all. We are coming back!

  • Kim's place was comfortable, convenient, and very tasteful. It's an easy walk to a restaurant and general store in town: a great landing pad to explore the Catskills! There's private off-street parking. The bed and linens were nice quality. It's clearly a well cared for place. Thanks for having us!

  • You can expect an experience rivaled by few others when you spend time at Dry Town Tavern. The physical space is exquisite; attention has been paid to every detail. Our daughter and her bridal party stayed here and it unquestionably contributed to a picture perfect weekend. Without hesitation we recommend the Inn to any and everyone. Our host Kim, was very helpful and pleasant to work with.

  • Beautiful house in the middle of even more beautiful scenery. A stone’s throw from Brushland Eating House and Russel’s General which is a huge plus. The entire house was clean and inviting and the check in process seamless. Had a question regarding the thermostat which was answered immediately and followed up on later in the evening. Great customer service!

THE GUEST ROOM - SHELTER This listing is for Shelter which is one of three bedrooms in the farmhouse. This room is on the ground floor of the farmhouse near the front entrance and next door to other ground floor guest room (Burrow). Guests in Shelter will have access to a full bathroom with tub / shower (to be shared with Burrow if occupied although often only one of these rooms is occupied at a time). On the opposite side of the main entrance to the house you will find a fully stocked common kitchen and dining area next to the shared living room space. This is the largest of the three bedrooms with the most closet / storage space and is our personal favorite. Two windows look out over the quieter section of the wrap around deck and back pastures. Shelter offers a queen bed with crisp white linens and high quality pillows you may be tempted to take home with you. The windows have privacy blinds and room darkening curtains. The space is well appointed with quaint, thoughtfully selected furnishings and accents and features an incredibly lush 100% Alpaca wool rug.

  • We love staying at Cheryl’s place! This is our second time and we will definitely be back next winter and we might come in the summer too! It’s a perfect location, beautiful space, has always been clean and perfect! She was very good communicating with us and last time we stayed she went out of her way to FedEx us my daughters cell phone. I highly recommend this place for families and friends traveling to Catskills

    Debbie2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a spacious, warm and homey getaway in the heart of Andes. Very Clean, nice touches in decorations, a well stocked kitchen and nicely updated. So Comfortable! The host left us a nice bottle of Kombucha which was a perfect treat in New Years Day!

    Carrie2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • This cozy, comfortable, streamside apartment is in the charming, quirky and quaint Catskills town of Andes above a boutique and in the main commercial section of town. It has a fully equipped kitchen, terrace, two bedrooms, a dining room that seats eight and a cozy living room with big screen TV. The apartment is a wonderful entertainment space where we actually could celebrate the Christmas holiday like "home".

  • Cheryl’s home was incredibly warm with personal touches throughout that made you feel right at home. The space is open and much larger than we expected. We spent most nights in front of the fireplace which felt so relaxing. Cheryls home in Andes is central to many great areas in the Catskills so we were able to hop around easily to multiple towns and restaurants. Thank you so much Cheryl for a wonderful stay and thank you so so much for thoughtful home brewed kombucha!!

  • This was the perfect spot for two good friends to getaway from the families for a weekend. The apartment had everything we needed, was spacious and well decorated. The fireplace and front porch were perfect for enjoying and then recovering from the fall weather. Definitely have breakfast, lunch or dinner (or all three!) at Two Old Tarts. It, a wine shop, and a number of small shops are all within walking distance.
