This place is absolutely amazing. We stayed two nights and unfortunately did not have time to enjoy the property for more time. The surroundings are beautiful just the ideal place to have a good quality rest close to the nature. Leonor, the host, was very friendly and always made sure we had everything we need and took time to chat with us and get to know us better. The property is decorated in an amazing way, very traditional and unique at the same time. Highly recommend it! We will come again :)

Wonderfull place in a quiet environment. Beautifull apartment and garden.

The cottage is old world and comfortable with a library and balcony overlooking the extensive garden, a beautiful place on a small farm close to the rustic old village of Tentugal. Tentugal is easy to walk around, a pleasant village square, a convent, we enjoyed the special patisserie 'pastel de Tentugel', a local specialty enjoyed around Portugal, a couple of nights we went to a very good restaurant enjoyed by locals. The weather was mild and we made use of the bbq and outdoor settings, our host brought wonderfully fresh produce from the garden and fresh bread. Tentugal is 20 km from everything, the beach, Roman ruins, Aveira and Coimbra, a special place, special host a great place to stay a week.

Un très bon accueil d'Ines dans un îlot de verdure. Une maison coquette et fonctionnelle, décoré avec goût. Le plus bel hébergement de nos 15 jours au Portugal.

Accueil sympathique et chaleureux par Leonor, qui parle très bien le français et qui offre de bons conseils sur quoi visiter dans la région, notamment ce qui sort un peu des sentiers battus. Tentugal se situe au carrefour de bien des lieux d'intérêts et est proche de l'océan. Le logement est meublé avec goût et simplicité et d'une grande propreté. La propriété est juste splendide, avec son grand jardin ombragé, ses chaises-longues, le petit bassin où se rafraîchir... Nous y avons passé un très agréable moment. Merci!

Nous avons passé un très bon moment chez Leonor. Leonor est une femme cultivée, agréable et généreuse, nous avons été très bien accueillis! Sa propriété est magnifique entre le bassin d'eau de source où il est possible de se baigner et la verdure luxuriante. La maison se trouve dans un petit village typique et calme. Cet endroit vaut le détour, c'est un havre de paix. Merci Leonor ! (Attention cependant aux personnes qui n'apprécient pas les chiens)

We had a great time in coimbra with hugo! He gave us some tips to explore the city, later that night he took us to a brazillian bar, which was great! if you're looking for a clean room in the citycentre and nice company , go for hugo's rooms!

Hugo was very helpful, and the flat location was great. It was a shame we didn't get to spend more time there.

Although we booked about one hour before we came, Hugo had everything done for a pleasant stay. The room is nice and the Appartement very close to the citycenter. Hugo made some great suggestions for going out and so it has been a wonderfull day in his town. Very recomendable.

Hugo is an incredible host! Very hospitable and accommodating! We went for a walk in the city together and had burger together afterwards while talking about lots of interesting topics. Recommend!

Great stay. Clean room with a window which we appreciated as the sun shone through in the morning. Good location close to shops and restaurants and major attractions. Free parking which was convenient since we drove there. I never met Hugo but his friend let us into the room which went smoothly. One thing I will mention is that the hot water ran out very quickly when I was showering in the morning, after a couple of minutes. Not sure if this was a one off or it happens all the time but I wasn't able to finish my shower.

The flat is really Nice, Wide and clean. I felt good vibrations here. The bedroom are big, clean, and have a pleasant view over a small and quiet place. Hugo is a great host, cool open minded and taking good care of his visitées. I definitly recommend to visit him if you go to Coimbra!!!!!

Hugo was really accommodating and gave us a great tip to have some drinks, as well as a place to have breakfast. Even by car, you have a parking spot infront of the house.

Nadia was probably the most welcoming Airbnb host we have ever had, and that's saying something because we only saw her for about ten minutes during our stay! She, and her mom who first let us into the apartment, were extremely kind and generous. The apartment was also perfect for our needs - we were able to cook using some food provided for us and to wash our clothes. It's also very quiet and has a great view of the city. The room we stayed at in Nadia's apartment was clean and comfortable and ideal for an overnight stay. The rest of the apartment too was tidy and clean. Nadia is warm and welcoming and made us some coffee upon arrival, gave us a map, explained our location, and pointed out places of interest as well as routes to get there. Getting to Nadia's apartment for the first time was a bit tricky, as the bus routes are unclear. Seeking written instructions from her about how to get to the apartment in advance of travel would be the best way to go about it if you don't want to go by taxi or walk there with luggage. All in all, her Airbnb room is ideal for short stays if you're looking for a functional base to sleep at. Not too many frills, though the option of breakfast is a lovely addition.

Stevan and Nadia were great, great hosts. They made us feel completely at ease, they care about details in a discrete manner, not overwhelming, and those things made us feel at "home". We were only sad about staying only one night! Moreover, they provided a fantastic breakfast (even better than they describe, and you can see in the pictures, hehe!). We would totally recommend them as hosts if you're looking to stay to visit Coimbra or somewhere nearby, and we'll surely repeat the stay if we are coming to the area (and they can receive us, of course).

Fátima was such a kind, gentle and wonderful host. We arrived late into Coimbra and needed a place pronto, and she opened her home to us with welcoming hands, a hug, brewing tea and coffee at a late hour just so we could have them early in the morning when we wake up and even prepared coconut donuts for us. The room was impeccable, warm, cosy and clean. Towels were fresh and we had an amazing night of rest, finally! It was super private and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and walking out into their garden in the morning was a good start to our day. Would definitely be back again if ever we are in Coimbra :)

Very nice people, they met us near the station and brought us back by car! Treated us with coffee and delicious homemade cookies! One minus - quite far away from city centre you need to take a bus or a taxi but beware of local taxi drivers, they maybe gonna try to deceive you

Fatima was a lovely person. We were greeted with tea, coffee and cookies. The room was in a corner on the top floor, a bit secluded, and it provided a nice and private experience. Since we cannot speak Portuguese, we had to communicate through (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) Translate. It was fine & all in all the experience was nice.

Simple and comfortable accomodation. Fatima and her family were very kind, meeting us as old friends. The house is about ten minutes driving from city centre.

Joao met us with at the arranged place even though we were and hour late. He toured us though the lovely apartment and gave us a quick run down of the area and best sights to see. He graciously took us back to our car and found us a place to park closer to the apartment. The apartment is small, but is very modern, comfortable, has lots of natural light from the large windows and has a lovely kitchen and bathroom. The location is perfect for shopping, restaurants and all the walking to all the sights in Coimbra.

I had a perfect stay in this apartment. Very spacious, clean and very well located in the city center, next to the tourist area. The apartment and building are rehabilitated with a fantastic design. Joao met me at the appointed time and gave me all kinds of information and help. It is the perfect place to visit Coimbra!

The apartment is just wonderful! It is located in a small street of the historic center, in a very ancient building, but when you open the front door you discover that the building was recently completely renovated. Therefore, you have both the charme of living in an historical area and enjoying a very modern apartment. João was really, really nice: he gave us plenty of good tips (we enjoyed very much the jazz concert on the stairs, thank you!), he was flexible with the check-out time, and very quick in answering to our questions. The apartment is spacious, very clean and calm. The renovation of the apartment was well conceived, in the kitchen the contrast between the part of the wall made by stone and the rest is really charming. It is a pleasure to spend some time in a so nice place. I totally recommend to all travelers to stay here!

We were greeted very punctually and warmly by Joao. The apartment is in a very good location in the old part of th city and is very contemporary and well designed.

Joao really takes his time to tell you about the city he loves and the history of the apartment building. The apartment is stylish in a more of less Japanese way. Coimbra has a very unique atmosphere, incomparable with other Portuguese cities. Especially at night it is a treat just to wander through the beautiful and somewhat mysterious streets. Hopefully we come back.

Excellent location in the old medieval section of Coimbra near the university, museums, churches and fado! Close to the river for nice walking. We recommend staying here to anyone. João was very kind and helpful for taking care of our needs during our stay.

A great stay in this apartment. Central to everything, very clean, cozy and quiet. Very stylish, well-equipped and very comfortable. Daniella ( Jorge's wife) was a lovely host, very helpful. Great location, very clean, cute apartment! The park across the street is very nice also. We ate dinner at the restaurant right next to the entrance, 3A Mesa. Great food and service and they have craft beer! What a great stay in Coimbra!

Jorge's apartment is very well located, across from a city park in a quiet area. It is well furnished, practical, comfortable, very clean, pleasing to the eye. It has a washing machine, which can be very useful in the middle of your trip. Jorge and Daniela responded promptly to all our communication. Amazing view of old town Coimbra from the terrace - best around. Home as described and Nuno answered my questions without delay. Fatima was waiting for us as agreed, spoke lovely English and was helpful in showing us all we needed to know about the apartment. Lots of light, off-street parking. Recommend this great value for the price. A flight of stairs to climb after the elevator if you have difficulty with that or a lot of luggage you might plan for that. Recommend

Nuno's apartment was true to the photos, and the view from the VERY big balcony terrace was great - we enjoyed eating out there as the sun set over Coimbra. The furnishings in the apartment are quite basic, but sufficient for our one evening stay and convenient location to walk around Coimbra and visit the university and river. Nuno's mother met us for a late check in which was very helpful and everything was very clean. Communication was very good and prompt. Thanks Nuno!

This place is really beautiful, I recommend it. I didn't meet Nuno but I met his mum, such lovely person. Everything was great the location and parking, the view from Nuno's place is unique.

We could find the flat and park downstair, both very easily. Fatima welcomed us she didn't speak english but was very welcoming. The flat is like on pictures. We really enjoyed the view of Coimbra and its famous university, from the 8th floor Terrace. There are clothes and dish washers, very convenient. But for one night we didn't have the time to use it. There were towels and the rooms were clean!

This review has good and bad. I don't like to come down hard on folks trying hard so i'll just say some main points. The major BAD is the place is VERY FAR from the station - and NOT easy to get to. You must go up a big cobblestone hill, on a not easy to find road, then up many, many stairs. If you have a bag it might be miserable and if you are in poor physical condition maybe you can't do it ! If you fit this group then you will need a car ride there. Next the owner did not make me feel welcome in any regard. Most certainly this is just a turnkey business - new person - $ka-$ching. Think of this place as a Self Service Hotel. No one to greet you, no hello, not even the internet password. If I did not have a local phone number, or internet connection I don't even know if I could have made it to the place. ----------------- On the positive - the room is as the pictures. Internet works well, the bed and pillows are very nice. Note the room gets very cold and I did not see any heater. As for the neighborhood - I would call it a ZERO - there is nothing to do, and it is far and inconvenient from the center.

The service was pretty good. The bedrooms are really nice and confortable and the kitchen was fully equiped. The bathroom was very clean as well. The area is very quiet but in my opinion it is a bit hard to reach there.

I really enjoyed my stay at Porta Aberta. The 4 people who take care of the house are very friendly. The room was clean and fresh just as on the pictures. The location is convenient, high on a hill with good views, in a fairly quiet neighborhood but only a 10-minute walk down the stairs to a big supermarket and other shops (hint: when you get off the house, turn right for the shorter, more scenic route).

The apartment is in a wonderful location, near the university, the old cathedral, and the new Cathedral. Great for sightseeing and shopping. Be aware that the apartment is at the top of the hill, while most of the shopping and restaurants are at the bottom. It involves a lot of hill climbing, or using cabs or buses. Eva is a terrific hostess. The apartment is clean and well stocked. It is large enough for 2 couples to feel comfortable, yet charmingly homey.

Location is ideal. We walked everywhere. The place was as described. 4 of us stayed there, and the space was more than adequate. Parked the car right in front of the house. It's advisable to get proper directions as (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) map may not work as well in the last mile. Look for 'Museu Nacional Machado' - the place is right behind the museum. Eva met us on the way which was very helpful. The checkin / checkout process was smooth. Eva was helpful with suggestions about the city, and very pleasant to interact with. We would certainly chose her place, if we visit Coimbra again.
