Places to stay in Colville

Places to stay in Colville
Our home sits on a 2.5 acre, slightly wooded, lot right on highway 20 approximately 20 minutes from Colville. The Little Pend Oreille River (pronounced pondere') runs along the back of our property and provides for beautiful walks and refreshing dips on hot summer days. The cabin is the last remaining of 8 originally built for hunters/fisherman. Since we purchased the property, we have fixed up the interior to be a bit more cozy and welcoming for a quiet weekend getaway.
The cabin is a studio style set up with a separate bathroom with shower. The beds are arranged to be used as couches during the day and beds at night. There is a mini fridge, ample cabinet space, and a single burner electric stove top to be used for cooking and a small fold away kitchen table. Dishes, cookware, coffee, and basic toiletries are among the items stocked in the cabin. There is a large driveway with your own parking and a picnic table in front of the cabin. It's the perfect place to unplug and unwind, as there is no cell service and no wifi.
Accessibility meets tranquility. We have the ease of access being right off the highway but enough wooded property and space to still feel tucked away. We are less than 5 minutes from Crystal Falls and less than 10 minutes from the Tacoma creek access to the Little Pend Oreille National Wildlife Refuge, and Beaver Lodge.
  • Great get away from the city. Cute, small but functional log cabin with a lot of charm. We enjoyed using the hot tub as well

  • We were driving through on a long road trip and stayed at Tenton/Kristens. We were coming especially late and they were very accommodating. The place was clean and comfy!

  • Trenton’s place is beautiful. The cabin is adorable surrounded by some amazing land. Trenton was a delight to chat with. The hot tub under the stars can’t be beat after a long day.

Welcome to our A-frame guest cabin! The cabin is on 20 acres of private land conveniently located between Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area and Colville National Forest. Our guests come to enjoy biking, hiking, kayaking, fishing, and hunting, or they simply enjoy the view of Lake Roosevelt and the peace and quiet of our mountain top home.
The cabin has a loft with two bedrooms (two built-in single beds per room). The main floor has a bedroom with a queen bed, a kitchenette, bathroom, and sleeper sofa. It is heated by a wood stove. The guest cabin is located completely separate from but near the main house. A 2-3 person hot tub is located on the lower deck of the main house that guests are welcome to use.
Our 'neighborhood' is Bear Mountain and most residents have 20 acres. Sit on the cabin deck and watch the boats go by on Lake Roosevelt. Take a short hike from the cabin to a ridge-top to see how vast Lake Roosevelt really is. Take a short drive to a secluded beach where you can launch your kayak, take a dip in the water, or throw your line in the water and catch some walleye.
  • The place was so nice! Beautiful view. Edward and his wife were so nice and quick with response. Would love to stay there again. A++

    Sylvia2019-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • Came to go fishing but I never left the property because it was so beautiful and the cabin felt so comfy! The most beautiful view from the front deck! Plenty to explore and see. They also had everything you needed to cook with!

  • Edward and Doris place is amazing, make sure to grab a bottle of wine and catch the sunset off the porch.

  • Very cozy place. Your cabin has everything for a great stay.

    Alex2019-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a great 2 night stay in Ed and Dori’s cabin! It is a very cozy space with everything you need, plus a wood stove which we loved! There’s no TV or wifi in the cabin which is a great way to relax and unwind from the everyday go go go. The outside hot tub was a perk we thoroughly enjoyed, as well as hiking around their scenic property. We brought our dog along and he really enjoyed playing with their dog and befriending the kittens. Ed and Dori were great hosts, friendly and informative. I would recommend this place to anyone who enjoys nature and the simpler things in life.

  • This place is amazing for anyone who wants to relax and unwind. The studio is really pretty and roomy. The only thing you need to know in advance is that the internet is a bit sketchy due to being in a remote area. I look forward tostaying here again.

  • Wonderful private space! We needed something simple and got SO MUCH MORE than that! Ron and Toni were great hosts and very accommodating. This was my first air bnb and it blew me away! Make sure you check out the little reading room by the river which was so peaceful.

    Tracy2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Ron and Toni go to great efforts to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. We weren’t able to stay very long, but it was a great experience just the same! They are great people.

    Rachel2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Ron and Toni are superhosts in my book. They are so easy to talk to and had great personalities as well. Their place is better then described in the listing. Our boys loved being able to play on the property and with the goats. We will absolutely be staying here in the future anytime we are in the area.

Also known as Dominion Mountain Retreat, this 565 sq. foot bungalow can sleep up to 5, but is spacious and lovely for a couple. Very comfortable queen bed upstairs, with spiral stairs leading to a rooftop deck. Full kitchen, tiled bath with shower, hot tub and fire pit available for comfort outside. Hummingbird paradise in summer, especially June and July! Please note: Winter Access requires 4WD or AWD vehicle!
The bungalow is separate from the main house, and has a rustic feel, but is very comfortable. The queen bed upstairs and both twins downstairs have wonderful memory-foam mattresses. The 6' curtained window seat is a favorite of the under 18 set. There is a full kitchen with an under counter fridge, gas range, microwave, coffeemaker, toaster and all the dishes and pots and pans you need. New geothermal system provides heat and air conditioning, and solar panels on the roof of the main home help make this a green property. We recycle everything as well. Guests have full access to 20 acres, including an enclosed garden with lots of sitting areas, a great fire pit for campfires, a hot tub on the main house deck, a weber gas grill on the main house deck, and pasture leading up to the neighbor's horses.
Colville is a town of 5000 in a beautiful mountainous and forested area of Northeast Washington. There are some good restaurants, an excellent library, several good grocery stores and one store featuring organic and local food (in Kettle Falls - 8 miles from Colville.) In late summer the county fair is held in Colville, and there is another festival at the beginning of August. Farmer's markets are held twice a week from Spring through Fall. There is a community theater group that puts on plays from time to time. One of the best things about Colville is the abundant outdoor recreation that is available here. There are two downhill ski areas within 45 minutes' drive, plenty of cross country skiing and hiking, mountain biking, boating on the Columbia River and several lakes, fishing, hunting and camping all around.
  • Beautiful sunsets, close to town, amazing hospitality! Highly recommend!

    Keith2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Leslie's cabin is a convenient base for wonderful hiking and snowshoeing options off Sherman Pass on the Kettle Crest and elsewhere on the Colville National Forest. We enjoyed watching it snow, watching movies, reading in the peaceful surroundings and waking up to our lovely, sparkling Christmas tree that she generously let us put up inside to make it even more cozy. Extra amusement was provided by her two friendly, fluffy kitties patrolling the grounds.

    Crystal2019-12-28T00:00:00Z

    BriAnne2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful, quiet, private location to take in everything the Colville area has to offer. The bungalow is gorgeous and was everything we expected.

    Melissa2019-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • We couldn't have asked for anything more. Every need we might have had, Leslie had already thought of!! What a delightful little cottage, beautiful view and weather for every season...rain, snow, falling leaves and sunshine...like I said, she thought of everything, lol!!

    Joan2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • We were so very impressed with your mindfulness of the environment. We arrived at night and in the morning we saw solar panels!! The hot tub was AMAZING and the view SPECTACULAR. The bungalow was beautifully decorated and clean. The selection of book and music were refreshing and quite delightful. We look forward to a future visit. :-)

    Amanda2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Leslie's place is so tastefully designed that when you open the door, your first reaction is: I'm glad I'm here! In addition, wildlife can be seen often on her property: fat quails marching across her lawn, or a flock of wild turkeys with a couple of cats running in the field.

    Luke2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • This was the perfect spot for us for the holiday weekend! After another airbnb fell through, I was so fortunate to stumble upon Tanya's place! It was nestled up on a hill and her directions made it so easy to find even at 9pm in the dark! She was quick to respond on a holiday weekend and even gave us fresh chicken eggs which were amazing! If you are looking for a place to hunt, this is great because public land is within walking distance of the cabin and we saw so many deer and turkeys over the course of the weekend! Would definitely recommend!

  • I’m not the auto review/auto 5 star kind of guy. This is a lovely little cabin. Very accurately described and so much fun. Tanya and Tony were great hosts, great people. I spent 4 nights while the temperate dropped to around 22F. The cabin is very warm. You don’t need to put the heater on for long to get the place toasty.

    Ben2019-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little cabin in the woods! Host was extremely helpful and great with communication. The cabin was spotless and still cute and comfy with incredible views. The space has everything you might need and more.

  • April’s home is as nice as the pictures appear. It’s got great character and I felt at home as soon as I walked in the door. It’s close to town, but quiet and private. April knew I was coming from Seattle and graciously shared some restaurants and had the house all dialed in so I could chill after a long drive. Thanks April. I hope my next Airbnb can live up to yours!

    Jake2020-01-30T00:00:00Z

  • The Hidden Moose Lodge is a place that is perfect I feel like for all seasons. Our trip over President’s Day weekend was great because there was still some snow on the ground but still easily accessible. Overall, this is a lovely place to stay and the price makes it even better. What stood out the most was the attention to detail left by the host, very clean, cute cabin.

The surrounding community is warm, kind, and helpful. We will be coming back very soon and recommend staying at the Hidden Moose Lodge!

  • This sweet cabin has all the amenities you need for a comfortable stay and is located near many beautiful and wild locations for fishing, hiking, and kayaking. Our hosts rent bikes and kayaks at very reasonable rates, which would have been wonderful if we had been visiting during a warmer season. The cabin itself is set off by itself and has a deck on 2 sides, which is perfect for watching wildlife, relaxing with family and friends, and enjoying a meal outside. This is such a special place. I'll be coming back.

  • Stay at Carolyn's farm is a must for anyone visiting Northeast Washington . The hospitality, abundantly stocked fridge and shelves, adorable farmhouse decor, comfy beds, and sparkly clean rooms are the perfect compliment to the beautiful sheep farm in gorgeous wooded country. Carolyn, her husband, and 2 precious dogs made us feel right at home with their kindness and attentiveness. We were encouraged to enjoy walking all around the property. One of the best Airbnb experiences we have had!!!

  • Carolyn and Bob have thought of everything. The extra little touches - fresh eggs - fresh cookies, fruit, snacks and amenities make all the difference. We went for a walk out to the barn to visit the kitty- hens- sheep and alpacas. I couldn’t have been more pleased. Looking forward to our next visit.

  • Bob and Carolyn were great hosts. The home is well furnished and has the niceties of home. The small touches like farm fresh eggs and homemade chocolate chip cookies made the stay delightful and relaxing. There are great views from the home. Location between Colville and Little Pend Oreille Lakes is great.

It was amazing seeing the length they go to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. It is so special that they share such a beautiful ranch with others. We cannot wait to go back. Beautiful, quiet two-story home with lots of windows on 21 natural landscaped acres at the base of Colville Mountain. This home is unique and charming with lots of room, a spacious deck, patio, BBQ, firepit, fireplaces, rec-room (with pool /ping pong table), games, and a three car garage. Nearby is the Colville National Forest, multi-use trails and several rivers and lakes – including Lake Roosevelt. Enjoy winter and summer activities. Canada only one hour drive; Idaho two hour drive.
There are three exits in the downstairs area and four exits upstairs. There is a piano in the living room and a patio door from the living room to the deck. There is a patio door in the master bedroom to the deck and a patio door to the patio from the kitchen nook area. There are cleaning supplies upstairs, as well as downstairs. There are enough supplies for a short term stay, but long term guests will have to replenish supplies, as needed.
There are homes on the west side of Madison Street and it comes to a dead end about 1 1/2 blocks north of our home. Our home is the only one on the east side of the street until you cross the road at the bottom of the street. The driveway is circular and there is plenty of parking. There are a lot of white tail deer, turkeys and quail throughout the neighborhood. The turkeys have a favorite dusting spot just east of the garage so don't be surprised by turkey feathers in that area. There is an elementary school about four blocks away and Safeway is about one mile away. The neighborhood is quiet and our home is peaceful as well as private.
  • Laurie made it very easy to book this stay for a third party. Communication was quick and thorough. The accommodations were exactly what we expected, very convenient and a great value. Thank you Laurie

    Meri2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • Laurie's home was a great place to stay. It is near many outdoor activities (nature watching, hiking, etc.). In fact, I saw four deer running around the place during my stay. Having a garage available to guest was a nice feature given that it was very cold and I would have had to scrape my car windows otherwise. Laurie was a great host and responded to messages in a timely manner. I would love to stay again.

    Nicole2019-12-01T00:00:00Z

It seems like everyone loves Black Lake and hates to leave it! This quiet lake is on a small mountain 2 miles off the highway. It is a no-wake lake so there are no noisy boats or jet skis. Black Lake people enjoy serenity. The home formerly housed the campground store which was converted to a fourth guest room.
The lake is stocked with Tiger and Rainbow Trout. There is a large fishing dock and a small beach which is shared with campers.
It is 20 miles to Colville but there is a small store, gas and a small restaurant 7 miles in the other direction on Hwy 20.
  • Lovely place to get away from it all! We spent lots of time doing puzzles in front of the fire.

  • What an amazing place to stay! It was quiet, beautiful, and just what we needed. We loved the house and the wonderful lake! Our kids had a blast, too. Pricilla was a fantastic host and even had some toys for the kids. Our dogs were welcomed with open arms. We want to go back!

  • A finely furnished house on a beautiful and quiet lake.

  • Another fantastic holiday at Black Lake! Priscilla went above and beyond to make this trip happen for us and we have another year of memories with our Grandmother to cherish forever. Love this cabin at Black Lake!

    Lindy2018-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Fabulous historic cabin with wonderful updated kitchen, bathrooms and comfortable bedrooms. Priscilla made us feel extremely welcome. Wish we'd had time to enjoy the canoes or kayaks. Black Lake is very quiet, without water skiers or jet skis. Would definitely consider coming back again in the future.

  • Priscilla’s house is beautiful, tucked away in the woods by the lake with gorgeous scenery. Priscilla was the best host I’ve ever had through AirBnB, she was concerned with all our needs and even built a fire ready to start in the fireplace! There are plenty of towels, extra blankets, and more than comfortably housed 8 guests. Can’t recommend enough!

    Jeremy2018-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • Priscillas place was just what i was looking for. A quiet cabin in the woods with a fireplace. It was also so much more. It has a beautiful kitchen that I would have loved to cook in if I wasn’t on holiday from cooking. There was plenty of space to wander and snowshoe. It was a cabin in the true sense, not a big fancy house in the woods. There were plenty of nicely appointed bedrooms for our party of 4 as well as plenty of bathrooms. Lastly, i need to mention the view. It overlooks the lake which was frozen and covered with snow. Watching the shadows move across the lake and through the trees was our main pass time. There was about 2 feet of fresh snow when we arrived. All driveway and paths were nicely taken care of. I know this is a place i will visit again.

    Micheal2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • You can expect an exceptionally warm welcome. This is an amazing couple. Be sure to allow for some time to let them show you around their garden and workshops, and meet their hens and very friendly cat. The space is cozy, and everything you need is right there.

    Faye2019-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • Barbara's place is just lovely. It's on the west side of the valley so it's a bit cooler in the afternoon than places on the east side would be. Her husband, a contractor and carpenter for 41 years, has done a wonderful job remodeling the place and making it a welcome home for Airbnb guests. Clean, quiet and comfortable, not to mention very easy access to Colville and surroundings.

Welcome! We hope you love/enjoy the peaceful beauty in N.E. Wash. that attracted my grandparents to homestead here in 1905. The property has been in the family since then. Jim and I built our home here in 1984 and raised our girls here, where I grew up. Our Guest House is newly made to look old, and is 750 sq.ft. in size, overlooking a large meadow with several ponds. It has brand new modern amenities. The quiet setting and mountain views will bring you relaxation. Jim and Alice.
The rural location allows you to enjoy all that the country has to offer-- hooting owls, gobbling turkeys, and a clear view of the starry night. Often there are deer, elk, the occasional moose, mountain quail, ducks, geese and coyotes that can be seen and heard *Access to guesthouse is with a keypad on exterior doors to unlock.
This property is on the doorstep of thousands of acres of available State and Federal land. The Pend Oreille Lakes and the Little Pend Oreille Wildlife Refuge are just minutes away. You will find all of the outdoor activities you wish-- fishing, hunting, hiking, snowshoeing, biking (road/mountain), etc. within minutes of your doorstep.
  • You can't go wrong with this place and Jim & Alice go above & beyond to make your stay comfortable.

    Darren2019-12-25T00:00:00Z
  • The stay was amazing here. Very clean, cozy, and close enough to town to not be inconvenient. Also, the hosts are very gracious. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone.

    Jay2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • Honestly, this place far exceeded any expectations I may have had. Jim and Alice have created something special. The place was immaculate; everything was in pristine condition. The guesthouse is it's own separate structure connected by a garage. The place was warm and cozy, with plenty of hot water and a powerful gas stove. Everything was done right in this guesthouse, and everything was clean, fresh and new. My favorite part of the trip was meeting Jim and Alice. These are amazing people with guests best interest in mind... they were exceptional hosts. Finding huge pots of gold in the forest may have been the only thing that could have made the trip better, but for the experience I had and knowing I'll be back, I sure couldn't ask for anything else. Thanks!

  • I would highly recommend booking with Jim & Alice. I am a housing coordinator for a traveling physicians. We had a bad experience with our original accommodation Jim and Alice were wonderful and accepted us last minute, allowed my traveler to bring her tomatoe plants early, and they went above and beyond to get in WiFi for our guest. Their home is clean and well taken care of. 5 stars!

This beautiful house sits on the shore of Deep Lake, 15 miles from Northport and just across the border from Rossland and Trail BC. This is a very lovely, fully equipped, lakefront home. There is a deck off the dining area, a side deck and a large dock. The kitchen is fully appointed. There are several small appliances including a blender, crockpot, electric skillet, and a Keurig pot (bring the pods you like). There is a cupboard full of spices.
Three story lake house with a southern exposure.
There are homes around the lake with only an occasional motorized water craft on the lake. It is mostly quiet and pleasant. Most homes are weekend or summer retreats. The water is nice for swimming, kayaking, floating, etc.
  • We love this place. It is so peaceful and beautiful. We would definitely come back.

    Nancy2019-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • We had such an amazing time at Rose's lakehouse!! It was so comfortable and had everything we needed for a fun and restful stay! The views of the lake were gorgeous, the beds were super comfy and the kitchen was fully equipped and stocked with some staples such as spices, cooking oil and sugar. We enjoyed cooking on the gas grill and playing board games, swimming from the private dock, and even using the kayak! The cassette tape selection was a trip down memory lane and we had a blast looking through them and listening to some awesome classics! We highly recommend this place and definitely plan to be back!! Thank you Rose!!

  • Scenic views for days. Peace and quiet. Right on the lake. We stayed for 5 days and did not want to leave! Rose has made sure you have all the comforts of home available and was even kind enough to call and check in with us to make sure we didn't need anything else. Great service, great place--we'll be back!

    Krysta2019-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • Our little family enjoyed everything that Rose's home had to offer! The lake location is perfect to hit the rest button on life and slow down. The views are serene and beautiful! We enjoyed sitting outside every night to watch the fish jump. Rose is an amazing host and is so accommodating to make sure all guests needs are met! Her home is cozy and well stocked. We will definitely be back!

    Kim2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Rose is an incredibly thoughtful host and the house is lovely. This is possibly the best Airbnb experience we have ever had. Deep Lake is pretty, swimmable and easy to reach.

    Jennifer2019-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • The lake is a great location for swimming, kayaking, fishing etc. We enjoyed hikes into the Colville National Forest, especially the walking trail around Meadow Lake. Good memories. Thank you Rose. Allen

    Allen2019-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • What a fantastic home! Smack dab on Deep Lake, with a great dock. There are tons of rainbow trout in the lake. I loved that we didn’t have cell phone reception, or internet access at the house. It’s exactly what we needed. It sounds cheesy, but my favorite part was showing my kids how the cassette tape player and VCR work. we listened to the provided tapes, which brought us right back to our childhood. Neil Diamond, Kenny Rogers, Mariah Carey, The Beach Boys, and so much more. The kids lived playing hide and seek throughout the house. It was quiet, and secluded. There are neighboring houses and a trailer, but I never saw or heard anything from either. The beds were comfortable, and my wife loved the heated mattress. I would absolutely stay here again. The kitchen was well stocked, and fun to cook in. We made great memories here with my girls catching their first fish, and seeing tons of deer and eagles. A true mountain lake getaway!

    Tim2019-06-07T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first ever experience using air bnb and it was amazing. This lake house is absolutely beautiful inside and out. The house sits right on a beautiful lake and there is a dock for fishing, boating or swimming. The inside of the house had a big loft and multiple rooms for our six member party. The host was amazing and made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. Everything about our stay far exceeded our expectations. The area was fairly sucluded and private which we liked. Also I felt like we got an amazing deal on the place. Everything was amazing and we plan on coming back next summer.

They went above and beyond when there was a slight scheduling conflict by offering us upgraded accommodations at no extra cost - in the past, we've had other hosts just cancel with little to no prior notice. The place was impeccably clean, stylishly decorated, and furnished with any utensil or amenity we could possibly need. We had a wonderful stay, and would recommend their Airbnb's to anyone!

Beds very comfortable, plenty of towels/linens, great views of the river and wildlife each morning. A lot of creativity and fun went into designing "The Station". Guests are charmed by the details that bring back to life, the yesterdays. All the comforts of today are at your fingertips in this delightful lodging. Once a Texaco Station, which also boasted Annie New's original cafe. Her bar stools still sit at the kitchen counter in this lodging, along with the original billboard menus. Old preserved photos adorn the walls, bringing solid vision to days gone by.
The Station has two bunk arrangements, one in a separate bedroom, which will easily accommodated seven guests. There is a full kitchen. Across the street is a barbecue and horseshoe pit shared with the Columbia Cottage guests.

My house is situated on 130 acres. It’s surrounded by pine trees and grassy areas. It is peaceful and beautiful. Your space is the walkout basement. It has several windows, two bedrooms, bathroom, and living space. You can also use the kitchen and laundry room upstairs. There are several decks around the house for enjoying the peace and quiet, reading a book or just relaxing. For hot summer days we have tubes you can use for floating the kettle River or you can enjoy the above ground pool.
My husband built our house so it is very custom. You will have the whole Walkout basement to yourself. There are two bedrooms, common space and one bathroom for you to use. You are welcome to use my kitchen and laundry room which are upstairs on the main level.
I love living on the mountain you will see no other houses or people when you visit me. We are on 130 acres surrounded by state land. I love the peace and quiet and beauty that surrounds my home. We have an above ground outdoor pool that you can enjoy. I also have a couple of kayaks and canoes that you can use. The nearest town is Kettle falls, and it is about 5 miles total from the house.

Put your tent right in front of the Lake and sit back and enjoy the view!!!!! This is all Lake frontage and the closest boat launch is 2 miles away at North Gorge campground. Once you launch your boat, you can drive it to the property and keep it in the water right in front of where you are camping. This is a dry camping, spot without water or power so you must bring your own water and pack out your garbage. There is a fire pit, picnic table and outhouse you can use.
This land borders the 1310 line and is wide and narrow. Enjoy abundant wildlife and seclusion. Each camper will be able to view the water and it is a great place to Kayak. You can bring your pets, kids and music. This would be ideal for friends and family to gather where you have privacy, a lake, lake frontage and do not even need to tie your dog up!!! This is a great price for the number of people able to go!!! Lake Roosevelt goes on for miles!!!! The train goes by two times a day and is very fun to watch!!!!
We are 15 miles from Kettle Falls, 20 miles from the Auto-Vue Drive Inn Theatre, 5 miles North of Evans Campground and 2 miles South of North Gorge Campground. We are also less than an jour from the Canadian Border.
  • The host had camping games (cornhole, volleyball, etc.) Several clean picnic tables, and a very nice level place you could set up tents. It was super cool how close the river was - very easy to get to. It was quiet, quite secluded, and very relaxing. I am very lucky to have had cheri as a host and so happy this place was where I stayed my first time using Airbnb! 10/10

Clean and efficient 3 bedroom country home set on two acres of timbered land. We are frequently visited by natural wildlife, such as deer, squirrels and birds. Secluded but adjacent to the highway and near the city of Colville, the house is nearby scenic hiking trails, lakes, rivers and free tennis courts. The temperature within the house remains fresh and cool during the summer and is easy to heat during winter months
The house is uniquely situated in that it maintains a very private and nature-bound feel, while still having immediate access to the highway and being only 4 miles from historic downtown Colville. Set away from the sounds and distractions of the city, nights may be enjoyed star-gazing and morning, listening the the music of bird calls. The house has an abundance of light streaming in from all sides and remains well insulated on hot summer days. The heaters keep it warm in the winter. Water is good to drink, coming from an underground well.
Within 2 km of the house, you will find beautiful Dominion Trail, a walking trail available to all levels. As well, the house is close to recreational lakes/rivers(20miles), tennis courts (3miles), and come winter, scenic snowshoeing and cross-country skiing trails. Traffic is scarce, making the roads around the house great for cycling. Overall, an outdoor, nature-enthusiasts paradise! Colville is the county seat which borders British Columbia, Canada. An historic country town with roughly 5,000 residents, the downtown is definitely worth getting to know, hosting a beautiful park and outdoor swimming pool, traditional antique shops, clothing boutiques, fine eating and coffee and a small farmer's market Wednesdays and Saturdays from 9am-1pm.
  • Private and peaceful with a great host who made sure everything was in order.

  • We were visiting with family in Colville and Bob's place was very accessible to town and our son, who lives in the foothills. Bob was just the right mix of informative but not intrusive and his place was spotless. We will be back!

It is outfitted with all of the basic comforts of home to make it an enjoyable place to reside for your trip to the area. Since it is a studio style living space, the beds and the kitchen/dining area all occupy the same general area. The bathroom is separate and private. Parking is located directly in front of the Last Resort front entrance. Guests are very welcome to explore the grounds and use the fire pit, the hammocks, fish off the bank of the river, explore the garden/orchard etc. All of these things are seasonal by nature and change in availability depending on the time of year. We also have 3 disc golf holes and a horseshoe pit to use. Should you be here during hunting season, we have space provided to hang your deer/elk. We try to make our place as comfortable as we can within reason and we welcome any feedback from our guests. *Although 1-2 well behaved and house trained dogs are permissible in The Last Resort; animals can NEVER be left unattended for any reason inside the lodging. We thank you in advance for your cooperation.
The Last Resort is located across the river from the small town of Northport. We don't have any neighbors close by so your stay is very private. In town there is a cafe open for breakfast and lunch (Mustang Grill) along with a diner open for dinner (River Town Grill). There is one pub in town (Kuk's Tavern) that has some interesting and risqué history if you care to visit! Northport was once a bustling mining and timber milling town in the 1800's and early 1900's and bits of that era remain throughout the area. The area surrounding Northport (Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area) is full of places to see and things to do for outdoor enthusiasts and those looking for unique experiences. *The Pacific Northwest Trail (North America's newest long distance hiking trail) comes right through Northport. *Various road cycling groups have Northport on their stop list throughout the summer. *Bird Watchers have an abundance to viewing opportunities in the area including many raptors such as Golden and Bald eagles, osprey and many hawks and falcons. Seasonally the hummingbirds come by the thousands along with the swallows, flickers, nuthatches, kingfishers and many many more! *Northport hosts an annual weekend blue grass festival called Camp and Jam Blue Grass Festival. Usually Labor Day weekend and held at the Race Track on the edge of town. *Fishermen: This is a world class trout fishery for fly fishermen and gear fishermen alike. Walleye, and sturgeon are also abundant in our waters of the Upper Columbia. Bring your rod and license! Launch your boat right there at the city park! Our river side lodging guests also have access to our Private Dock at the Lazy Daze Inn. *Hunters: White Tail deer, Elk and even Moose roam this area and are popular game for hunters here seasonally, along with Eastern and Merriam Turkey. We provide hangers for our deer hunters as well. *Our 4th of July fireworks show is pretty darn impressive and always a spectacle to see if you're here for the holiday weekend! *Mountain Biking and great hiking trails surround the area both state side and just across the border in B.C. (Seven Summits Trail) *The Northport International Speedway is a perfect place to watch dirt track races all summer long with your family and friends. Located just across the bridge on Sheep Creek Rd. *China Bend Winery is just 7 miles down the road from us and they offer Organic, non sulfite, non sulfate wines and other great goodies! Give them a visit as well when you're in town. *Fancy a drink? Kuk's Tavern is a local bar that has a claim as being the oldest bar in the state. Ask the bartender about the ghost that lives upstairs!

This darling little Bungalow was built in the 1940’s, and has been appointed to meet your lodging needs. Leather couches, where you can sink down, get your feet up. An Amish fireplace, where the flames dance to your thoughts. A full kitchen, full bathroom, and three separate sleeping areas, easily accommodating up to 5 guests in comfort. Garden Side sits in the Town of Northport, along side of the Community Garden. Linens and kitchen ware are supplied. Settle in and relax!
The Garden Side is a favorite of our lodging options among fishermen and hunters when The Eagle's Nest Lodge is not available. There is plenty of room to park multiple vehicles if members of your party are traveling separately. The 3 separate sleeping areas/rooms make it nice for those looking for privacy and quiet for a restful night's sleep. If you have more than 2 members of your party, you will want to space out your showering times because the last one to shower is likely to run out of hot water! Be aware of that! * DO NOT FLUSH ANYTHING except toilet paper and human waste (aka feces/urine) down the toilet. We are on a Septic System. Failure to abide by this rule could result in less fun for you on your trip as well as a very large septic repair bill that will be added to your fees through AirBnb. * We Recycle aluminum cans only. A bin with a can attached to the lid can be found by the front door. There is also a large trash bin there for your use for all other waste (EXCLUDING ANIMAL CARCASSES!)
Conveniently, right down the street, is a great little breakfast cafe (The Mustang Grill). Just a short walk down the street is another restaurant open for dinner as well as a pub and grocery store, all within walking distance. We encourage all of our guests never to drink and drive and our location is perfect for that. • Great little spot in Northport. The folks at the community garden next door were super nice and the kids loved the baby deer walking through the property. Great central spot between many fun outdoor activities.

Experience a serene mountain retreat when you stay in our luxurious home. We are located 10 mins from Northport, WA and 30 mins from Red Mountain Ski Area and the fun little ski-town of Rossland, BC. Discover your favorite outdoor activity - hunting, fishing, hiking, outdoor climbing, mountain biking, or viewing wildlife - or just kick back on our deck with a glass of wine and take in the stunning view. Whether you are looking for adventure or a just cozy get-away, you’ll love your stay here.
The Carlson’s Canyon Ranch is set on a hillside overlooking the dramatic limestone cliffs of Trombetta Canyon, five-mile creek, and wetland areas. This is a truly unique location, both for the view and for the local flora; Washington state recently set aside over 1000 acres adjoining our property as state preserve (Trombetta Canyon Natural Area Preserve) recognizing the unique limestone ecosystem and three plant species that only occur here in Washington state. The backdrop to the canyon is Silvercrown mountain, easily accessible from the lodge. A short half-mile hike up the mountain is our secluded lake and stunning views overlooking the Columbia river and the town of Northport. At the lake, you can visit the Pioneer cabin, which we built using no power tools. Every month, we host school children at the lake to teach them outdoor skills through our non-profit organization Silvercrown Mountain Outdoor School.
Northport is a small town set on the banks of the Columbia river. An area of great natural beauty, Northport is a remote retreat with a refreshingly slow pace of life. You’ll find all sorts of outdoor activities here – hike up Abercrombie mountain, the highest point in Eastern Washington, drive up Flagstaff mountain to see a former fire lookout and unmatched views of the river valley, mountain bike on a huge number of old logging roads, or fish in world class waters on the Columbia. Although it feels a world away, Northport is within reach of most services - 30 min from Trail, B.C. 1 hour from Colville and 2.5 hours away from Spokane. Things to do around Northport. If you want to explore outside our property, there is plenty to do. In the winter, the main draw is Red Mountain ski resort, which provides excellent skiing (see below), 30 minutes away in Canada. In the summer, a drive or bike-ride around the deep-lake loop is a real treat. There is also plenty of outdoor activities, including hiking, fishing, and hunting. Just ask us and we’ll provide you with some great options. What to do when you feel hungry. Grocery options are limited so please be aware and prepare ahead of time to purchase groceries. If you are driving through Colville, a good option is to stop at Safeway, Super One, or Walmart. In town, we have a local grocery store. We will have some basic pre-packaged foods (such as peanut butter and jelly, instant oatmeal, etc.) in case you arrive late and couldn’t get groceries. We have fruits and vegetables for sale from our organic garden and orchard - both fresh and canned. Please ask if you are interested. In Northport, there are two local restaurants (Mustang Grill, Rivertown Grill) about 15-minute drive from the ranch.

  • Art’s place is a little piece of paradise just south of the Canadian border. The river is gorgeous here and provides many fun activities. Art and Gabriel are gracious and helpful hosts, who know a lot about the local area. We took our family of five and found the cabin very spacious and stocked with everything we could need. It was also immaculately clean. We spent most of our time playing in the water, playing games (they have a great selection), and enjoying the view. The hammock was a favorite spot for all five of us. We highly recommend staying at eagle’s nest. We are already planning our next trip there.

  • This place is a must on your list when visiting NE Washington. Relaxing and inviting. Wonderful scenery and close to Canada for a quick day visit. Art & Gabriel’s hospitality was top notch, super responsive and friendly host. Thank you! Dave

  • Eagle's Nest was the perfect setting for a long weekend on the river spent with a few of my close friends. It was everything we hoped it would be - just private enough to feel like we had the place to ourselves, with access to the dock, a fire pit, and plenty of outdoor space on the 2+ acres of riverfront. Gabriel was friendly, professional and immediately responsive to our questions and requests. I would recommend this property for anyone looking to host a group of 8-9 adults in a secluded and quiet, yet not too remote, escape from the city. It was easy enough to get to from Spokane and within reasonable driving distance from Colville, where we got our groceries. Coming from Southern California it felt like we were in a fairy tale. We're already missing it.

  • Amazing space and unbelievable hospitality. Perfect spot to ski at Red Mountain!

    Walter2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Pre-Trip: Terry was incredibly accommodating with our needs and always responded to my messages quickly and thoroughly. We used the entire house for our staff retreat, which is where our special needs came into play, so to speak. We have a staff member with an infant and Terry was sure to go above and beyond to help accommodate us and that family. Arrival: While I believe Terry has done an amazing job at taking pictures of their land to post on Airbnb, pictures fall oh so short of capturing the beauty of this place. It was all we could talk about pretty much the whole time we were there. Terry's husband and the dogs were there to great us warmly and to help us feel informed and welcome from the start. They even had thoughtful breakfast items in the pantry and in the fridge for us! The Stay: The rooms, bathrooms, and kitchen were clean with clean sheets on the bed and towels and washrags laid out for all of us. Terry and her husband were always available for any questions we had and we loved hearing the history behind the land and the house - be sure to ask them about it :) Overview: From start to finish, this was such a pleasant experience. Communication, hospitality, location, and cost were all great and my wife and I are already talking about visiting them again. If you are looking for a quiet and warm stay in a simply breath-taking place - tucked into a little slice of paradise - look no further!

  • Terry and Gerhard are generous hosts. We loved their beautiful home, which is in an equally beautiful location. We loved the hike out to their pond and log cabin! And their home is so comfortable—loved those beds and enjoyed having our own living room and kitchen too. I would stay here again if I were in the area.

  • Terry and Gerhardt have created a place of serenity, peace and beauty. The craftsmanship of the home is astounding. A full library with a planned spiral staircase is inspiring. The multiple levels of the home are amazing and offer guest places to rest and relax. There are beautiful gardens surrounding the property and guests can lounge outdoors on the immaculate green lawn. The stars in the sky are so bright at night, and shooting stars are often seen flying by. We have a small orchard of various fruit trees. Also a vegetable garden where we grow organic produce.

Conveniently, right across the street (literally) is a great little breakfast cafe (The Mustang Grill). Just a short walk down the street is another restaurant open for dinner as well as a pub and grocery store, all within walking distance. We encourage all of our guests never to drink and drive and our location is perfect for that.

  • Both Barb and Tony are wonderful people! With all the negativity going on now it’s so nice to meet good people who genuinely care. Plus Barb is an amazing cook and baker! Tony’s handiwork is seen through out the place . I would definitely stay here again . Even if I’m just passing through Colville I will definitely stop in and say hi.
