Home in Hayfield

Our stay was very comfortable; the house was roomy, spotlessly clean and well presented. The location was fabulous and only a stones throw from some of the popular walks in the area. We would stay there again. Car parking is on the street and the village was very busy when we stayed, so we had to leave the cars a hundred meters, or so, from the house. However, it felt safe enough to leave the cars out of sight.

Luxury Duplex 3-bed penthouse

SylviaRating, 5 stars4 months ago
My family had a very lovely stay at the apartment. Melissa was very responsive and accommodating to our requests. The apartment was the perfect size for my family of 5, cozy and beautifully furnished. The apartment is located in a nice part of Altrincham. The fact that it is a gated compound was a huge plus for us in terms of safety considerations. We will definitely be staying here again on our next trip back to visit our family! Thank you Melissa for being such a wonderful host.

Quirky Peaceful Peak District Cottage 360 view

HarrietRating, 5 stars1 week ago
This is the best air bnb I have ever stayed in! I can’t fault it from start to finish. Nina was always available and when I let her know when we were arriving she put the kettle on ready! She thought of every little thing and left eggs, pastries etc for arrival so thoughtful! This is the most well equipped air BnB I’ve ever stayed in - there was everything you could need from extra towels to games for children. We visited around Easter and Nina had decorated for Easter which was such a special touch. It feels so homely and welcoming and we felt at home straight away. The location is beautiful, surrounded by rolling hills and little lambs even came in the garden. There are walking routes right outside the house. It is down a track (and I would recommend coming in a big car if you can) but Nina provided clear instructions. Hope this review was helpful and I couldn’t recommend this place enough, we will certainly be back!

Rivington View. Modern 3 bed with stunning views

MichaelRating, 5 stars1 day ago
Went to Horwich to see family and friends, Lindsay and Daniel's property was perfect for our month long stay, ideal location, beatiful views, large garden, very clean, it was in a quiet street with ample parking. The flexible check in and check out was appreciated as was our welcome pack. We would definitely recommend "Rivington View" and will hopefully get to visit again.

Excellent Location 6 Guests – Pet & Cycle Friendly

Perfect property, in a great location and a fantastic host. The house was everything we needed for our short 2 day stay. Great location for walking in the peaks and for visiting Buxton. We ate at local restaurant A Tavola (1min walk from the house) and it was absolutely incredible. Highly recommended property!

Booth Farm - Small party rental

SarahRating, 5 stars6 days ago
My friends and I had a really wonderful few days staying at Booth Farm. The cottage is so peaceful and beds extremely comfortable so we slept amazingly! The kitchen is really well kitted out and we enjoyed relaxing by the fire in the evenings. So many beautiful walks and swim spots from the doorstep, we did not need the car. Duncan kindly took in our shopping as we were running late and left some breakfast things for us. We are already planning our next stay!

Your guide to Manchester

All About Manchester

One of the country’s powerhouses during the Industrial Revolution — its nickname Cottonopolis was hard-earned — Manchester’s red brick factories and mills now sit alongside gleaming glass buildings and winding tram tracks. Known worldwide for its musical and sporting giants, this city has a doggedly independent spirit. Whether you’re touring the Theatre of Dreams or browsing the record stores beloved by members of the 1990s Britpop scene, the city’s global cultural influence is evident.

Tucked behind Piccadilly Gardens, the Northern Quarter of the city is packed with large-scale street art highlighting social issues, vintage clothing stores, and eco-conscious cafes lining Thomas Street. Once the city’s garment district, this area is home to Manchester Craft and Design Centre, which showcases independent artists and craftspeople and runs regular workshops for visitors to try their hand at glasswork and silversmithing.

The best time to stay in a holiday rental in Manchester

Despite having a reputation for rain, Manchester is barely in the top ten UK cities for annual rainfall, and there are plenty of spots for alfresco dining and bar-hopping on a sunny day. However, like the rest of the country, rain is always a possibility, so a waterproof coat or umbrella are sensible regardless of season. Football fans flock to matches on the east and west outskirts of the city during the Premier League football season from mid-August to late May, while large Christmas markets are popular during the festive season. The summer months are popular with visitors combining a city break with adventures in the neighbouring Peak District.

Top things to do in Manchester

Sample the Craft Beer Scene

Make your way to the railway arches behind Piccadilly Station and pay a visit to an internationally-renowned taproom, or taste beer from one of many brewers available along Manchester’s craft ale trail. There are plenty of producers to try all over the city centre, from major players to new micro-breweries.

People’s History Museum

Nestled alongside the River Irwell on the edge of the city’s Spinningfields area, the People’s History Museum tells the story of the fight for the right to vote, the campaign for workers’ leisure time, and the absorbing history of women’s rights and the suffrage movement. This museum provides a deep insight into Manchester’s independent roots, from interactive exhibitions to the world’s largest collection of trade union and political banners.

Independent Ancoats

Less than 10 minutes’ walk from the popular Northern Quarter, Ancoats was once a hub of industry, manufacturing textiles and printing newspapers. Now, its former red brick factories run the gamut of Scandinavian-inspired bakeries, offbeat corner grocery stores, innovative small plates eateries, and the no-holds-barred independent Hope Mill Theatre.
