  • Karen’s place is very close to the mountain for skiers and snowboarders. Great location. She is very quick to respond and flexible with check in time. Thank you!

  • Wonderful place to stay! Adorable spacious apartment with homey touches and a helpful host.

    Alison2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Karen was the best host my dad and I could have ever asked for! She greeted us when we arrived, gave us a little tour, provided us with some breakfast food and home made cookies and even made a sweet welcome sign for us! The apartment was beautiful and cozy, and stocked well with everything we needed. When my dad cut his leg skiing and needed stitches, Karen helped us out a ton! She provided us with extra ice and baggies so my dad could ice his leg, and helped him get up the stairs. Very quick to respond and an absolute sweetheart! The apartment was roomy, super comfy and at such a great price! I wish I could give Karen 5000 *stars*!!

    Olivia2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • I’m an experienced Airbnber but Karen’s stood out for all the warm and special touches she offered from the homemade chocolate chip cookies to all the breakfast fixings to the sign welcoming us to the board games and movies to the notebook of suggestions. We prepared all our meals and the kitchen was well stocked. The beds were comfy and the place was quiet and welcoming in every way. Very close to Crotched Mountain where we skied. Highly recommended!

  • This was my second time staying here, which tells you all you need to know. Great host, very thoughtful, great communication. Weather was iffy and she was willing to be very flexible, which I really appreciated. Very quiet.

Writers, artists, musicians, naturalists, social and environmental activists, families, students, travelers, outdoor enthusiasts, and people needing a respite from the buzz of life will enjoy the peace and wonder of our solar homestead and forest. For winter reservations, please read about accessing our home during winter conditions in the "Guest access" section.
We have four listings for our home. If by chance you choose a listing and receive a message that conveys it's unavailable, please try other listings. Oriented for southern exposure, our "off grid" battery-based solar electric homestead had its beginnings in 1981. In addition to being AirBnB hosts, we are proprietors of Green Energy Options Solar Store in Keene, a local resource for energy conservation education, independent power systems and energy efficient appliances and heating. Our home, located 12 miles from the vibrant city of Keene, is a bit of a showcase for our business and philosophy. We have three rooms with queen-sized beds, and one room with a twin sized bed for guests to choose from upon arrival at the house. All of the rooms have special qualities and we continuously get compliments on all of the beds. If by chance the first room listing is filled for a particular calendar day, please look into our other room listings view their availability. On occasion, when needed and possible, we offer our second floor master bedroom with an adjacent living room. This space does not have it’s own bathroom but provides a sense of privacy and accommodates up to four people. Our home has a wheelchair accessible ramp to the main floor bedrooms and bath as well as a separate entrance to our ground level living space, which includes an accessible shower. While our home may not be certified accessible, we welcome inquiries from those who might value our attempt to be inclusive. In addition to our comfy bedrooms, we have a sunroom, an ground-level den with a woodstove, hammock and couch; 2 shared bathrooms (one with a shower the other a bathtub), a living room with piano and couch, as well as south and north facing porches. Two bathrooms offer on-demand heated water for shower or bath. Our open-concept kitchen faces birdfeeders, a fruit orchard and perennial gardens. With some advanced notice and additional fee, we are happy to provide wholesome breakfast and dinner meals made from organic or locally grown ingredients. We also offer the possibility of a wood-fired hot tub during the colder months. Andre, our chocolate lab is just about the sweetest dog we’ve ever met. Being an only child, he received lots of training early on to make him the kind of dog that was more pleasure than work. If he has any flaws, it’s that he’s overly thrilled (for about one minute) to see every new face. We have two cats, Maude and Daenerys who are completely domesticated but exclusively outdoor cats. They help us keep our space mouse free. They eat and sleep in the confines of our back porch where they are safe from their natural predators. Help us keep our promise to cat allergic guests by not intentionally or unintentionally inviting them in. For the well-being of, and out of respect for our resident animals and sometimes poultry, we are unable to host our guest's companion animals.
We live in the beloved Emerson Brook Forest. It’s a refuge from the fast pace world, a place to unwind, and reconnect to the natural world. Our home is adjacent to miles of surrounding woodland trails suitable for hiking, snow shoeing, cross country skiing, mountain biking, swimming and exploring. The immediate neighborhood includes The Sustainability Project’s Emerson Brook Forest Nature Center, which features wheelchair accessible trails and edible forest gardens. We are an easy drive to several public recreational areas including Pitcher Mountain (great blueberry picking from July through August) and beautiful Mount Monadnock (reputed to be the second most climbed mountain in the world, after Mount Fuji in Japan.) Mole Hill Theater which hosts live music and theater is a seven-minute drive away. Nearby Keene is home to Keene State College (and the Redfern Art Center and Thorne Sagendorf Art Gallery) and Antioch University, the Colonial Theater, several recreation parks and nearly 90 restaurants from which to choose. The Keene Music Festival, hosting more than 90 bands of all persuasions, takes place annually on the Saturday of Labor Day weekend.
  • Sergio is a knowledgeable guide and it clearly showed throughout the tour. His passion for history made the experience so much better along side with his historical pictures which allowed me to imagine how life was before. The tour flew by, I wish it was longer. Definitely recommend this tour!

    Cristhian2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Beyond the super interesting visit, Sergio is someone who communicates the passion of his city and its culture, he was super attentive to our requests and goes beyond his visit by advising us of other places and experiences in live in port. In short, a great guide, an admirable person to DO!

  • Sergio is an ideal guide with deep understanding of Porto and its history.

    Daniel2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Sergio was a joy to spend three hours with on a beautiful early spring morning. Porto looked stunning and Sergei brought it to life with amusing and informative stories. He is passionate about history and Porto. We came away with a sense of understanding of how the city and its people evolved over two millennia. Thanks Sergio we enjoyed our tour and the pleasure of meeting you.

  • Very very pleasant and original! Immersion in the historic center of Porto with a very friendly and attentive guide mastering his subject ...

    Magali2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • It is an activity to do absolutely !! We discovered places that we would not have found on our own. And above all we appreciated the explanations on the different places and the anecdotes. Sergio knows his city extremely well. His contact with the locals gives a plus to this experience as well. Do not hesitate to ask him for information on places to discover and good addresses. It is very good advice!

    Patricia2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Great time. Living discovery of the neighborhood. Lots of very informative anecdotes. A counselor.

    Denis2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Sergio knows his city perfectly, and shares his attachment for its history and culture with us. He masters his subject with the tips of his fingers, and the journey he has concocted is captivating. The atmosphere is warm and relaxed. The best way to discover Porto.

  • Great place to camp! Dennis and his wife are lovely people. There is a clean bathroom, outdoor shower and a common room inside their bed and breakfast that you can use their keureg, use a real bathroom and hang out during the day time. My wife and I had a great experience!

    Will2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • A dream for any camper on the road looking for a quaint, quiet stay! We pitched our tent right alongside a small garden, fire pit, and an apple tree. Dennis offers an outdoor shower and sink as well as the cleanest and freshest outdoor toilet I’ve ever encountered! Access to some of the amenities inside the guesthouse make this such an outstanding value. Be sure to check the rich history of the town of Acworth as well as the house itself! Would stay here again anytime!

    Nicole2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • We could not have been more pleased with this space! The gardens and yard are so beautiful and Dennis was amazingly kind---hospitality through the roof! He went out of his way many times to make sure we were comfortable, above and beyond what we expected for just camping out back of a guesthouse. This place is such a treat, don't miss staying here!!

  • Taryn has a lovely home. A short 10 minute walk brings you into downtown Keene. Taryn's home is clean and welcoming. Taryn is a wonderful host.

    Margaret2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Super host. Very nice, even going out of her way to let me know about what was happening in town and beyond, such as a historical wall mural project. She welcomed me in a caring way to use her kitchen and dining room. Her dog Jazzy is lovely. Taryn always had the lights on when I came home late. I can't say enough about her great hosting skills. We also had great conversations, and I just felt like I was at my home away from home.

    Joey2019-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely small room with private half bath (shower across the hall). Taryn is friendly but gives you the space you need.

Three cottages, each with lake view and shared dock, on pristine, quiet Sand Pond are perfect for a family gathering. Three cottages for one rental, offering privacy and indoor and outdoor space for being together. The main cottage sleeps four, has a full kitchen and a screened-in porch; the two studio cottages have kitchenettes and sleep two. It is not ideal for very young children or for those who have difficulty walking up and down hill on uneven ground. 9% NH Meals & Rental tax applies.
Sand Pond is one of the cleanest lakes in New Hampshire. Loons have been coming to the lake for decades. There is a state boat landing, with a lake host to monitor for invasive species, for easy access. While there are some motor boats, most lake residents and visitors prefer to kayak or canoe. Sailing is an option, but is often challenging. Crane Cottage, the largest, sleeps 4 and has a full kitchen with dining table for four, bathroom with shower, living room, and screened porch with seating and dining table. There is a bedroom with a full-size (double) bed and a picture window looking onto the lake and a small room with two twin beds. There is a full-size refrigerator, full-size range, microwave, toaster, and coffeemaker. There are enough dishes, flatware, glasses, pots and pans to cook for and serve at least 8 people. Mallard and Loon Cottages are studios, each with a double bed, table with chairs, bathroom with shower, and kitchenette. There is a small refrigerator, hot plate, microwave, and coffee maker in each. There are sufficient dishes and pots to cook for at least two people. Each cottage has bed linens and towels for at least as many people as can sleep there. There is a fan for the summer and heat for the spring and fall, as well as extra blankets. There is a large dock, folding chairs, a picnic table, a chimenea with wood, and a charcoal grill. There is an assortment of books, board games, and puzzles. There is good cell phone access. There is no WiFi at the cottages, but there is free WiFi at the South Acworth Village Store (10 mi.), which also has breakfast and lunch, a nice selection of beer, local crafts, and is special in that it was started in 1865 and is now community run. The tap water is delicious to drink. There is a clothesline. Infants and children are welcome, but the cottages are not toddler-proofed. The cottages sit on a hillside and are near the lake. There is no beach for wading and is not a good place for children who cannot swim. Parental judgement is needed to determine if this is a good setting for your children. Being on a hillside, with uneven ground, this setting may not be comfortable walking for some adults.
The lake is inhabited by year-round residents as well as seasonal residents. Family gatherings are frequent during the summer. A number of families have been coming for generations and relish their memories here. This is a beautiful, quiet place to restore yourself and enjoy time with your family and friends.
  • Beautiful lake. Perfect for kayaking or canoeing. The Eagles were flying around all weekend, and the loons are easily seen and heard every day. The camps are exactly what we were looking for. They have that rustic summer camp feel, with enough amenities so that you are not roughing it by any means.

  • This place is a nice place to go to and relax The 3 cabin set up is what made it for our group Landscape is hilly but manageable

    Larry2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice place, our children liked to play in the lake.

    Vanessa2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • I visited Claudia’s property with my fiancé and two other couples. We loved having the three cottages so we could spread out and all have our own bathrooms. The lake was beautiful, quiet, and peaceful. Great swimming and kayaking/canoeing. The cottages were cute and had everything we needed for cooking and grilling. We particularly liked sitting in the screened-in porch and watching the thunderstorms one night! Wonderful stay!

    Elisabeth2019-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Tranquil. Claudia has thought of everything you might need for a relaxing time away. We had a beautiful time and enjoyed a restful family holiday.

    Kirsten2019-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • Have been going to Sand-pond Lake for many years, second time we have stayed in Claudia’s cabins. Claudia makes herself available to you, but leaves you to yourself unless needed. You are in the woods, so the first year we had an ant problem, not a one this year! You are in a remote location and she is very helpful on sending you info prior to your stay, and keeps the cabins clean, and upgrades as needed. Looking forward to next year.

    Pamela2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • We just loved these three little cottages on Sand Pond. No fuss, no frills, just incredibly beautiful scenery and sublime swimming.

    Elizabeth2019-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Claudia's place was the perfect getaway. It had a feel of camping but with all the amenities a home has to offer. There was plenty of space for 8 people and lots to do! Claudia was very responsive from the minute I had rented the place. Thanks again Claudia!

  • Great place to stay!

    Travis2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing stay! It’s the perfect home to get away and relax, adventure, hike, kayak and enjoy yourself! Claudia provides so much info about the surrounding areas so you can hike, experience the incredible views, go out to eat, shop and see the beautiful area! We especially appreciated her being so accepting of our four-legged friend, Aspen! The house is clean with many amenities and the porch is a beautiful spot to relax and take in the view! We would absolutely return!

    Liz2019-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • It's a great place to sit and recharge. Very relaxing. Very peaceful. A perfect location if you need some quiet time. Taking a walk along the road is restful. Seeing people jumping into the water from the island but hearing the "SPLASH" a second or two later is quite a trick to the senses. Listening to the loons is captivating, and because they aren't constant, it's not annoying (I couldn't wait until their next appearance).

    Robert2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • What a place. The view was amazing from both the porch and upstairs bedroom. Very cozy place with almost complete privacy out back. The kayaks made it very fun to get out on Sand Pond and enjoy ourselves and do some fishing away from the small area out back. Claudia was extremely quick to respond when called and very helpful if needed. Can't wait to go back.

    Eric2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great mini-vacation. The view is beautiful. Mornings and evenings on the porch looking at Sand Pond was peaceful and beautiful. Claudia’s description and details about the property are spot on. Thank you we had a wonderful and relaxing time.

    Darcey2019-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Follow her directions! Best lake view ever!

    Peter2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • This is a wonderful place to unwind. The views of the lake, the availability of the kayaks and canoe make for a truly peaceful stay. We were looking for a quiet, relaxing weekend and enjoyed our stay quite a bit. Claudia is more than gracious and helped us with local information and greeted us on arrival. Would definitely stay here again!

Great for ice fishing, hiking, cross country skiing, snow skiing at near by Sunapee Mountain or Granite Gorge or just relaxing by the fire! This is a two bedroom camp, with one full bath. Come enjoy the winter in NH!
The camp is a newly renovated two bedroom camp with pine walls to make you feel right at home! The house has a microwave/convection oven in the kitchen and a grill on the back porch. We supply all of the paper plates, coffee, sugar and spices that you will need, along with plenty of condiments! **Please note that the camp is located 4 miles down a dirt road and 17 miles to the closest store. The camp does NOT have wi-fi (it's in the woods after all)!

Keene and Newport are both 17 miles away so keep that in mind when food shopping. The Ashuelot Pond is walking distance down the road and if you enjoy hiking there are trails in the neighborhood.

  • Eileen and Jim's cottage is a wonderful hidden treat. Both are very friendly. Hospitality was exceptional. Even taking us out for a sunset boat ride and fishing. Cottage is a very short walk to the beach. Which we enjoyed walking to numerous times a day. The cottage is well equipped, cozy, and clean. Will definitely be a guest again.

  • If you are looking for a simple quiet place to unwind - exhale - and just decompress... this is the place. The neighbors are all wonderful and friendly but respectful of your space and privacy. The pond/lake is super clean for relaxing wading or swimming AND barely anyone hangs out by the boat launch, so it is almost like having your own private waterside retreat! The cabin itself is modestly outfitted with the essentials - which is perfect for a short getaway, especially when you have a dog in tow. Speaking of dog... yay for them having a Dyson vacuum to remove traces of said dog when leaving!! I always clean any flat or home I rent on airbnb before I leave because as a host, I appreciate that. I now want a Dyson!! - Definitely

  • Outstanding hospitality, and the hosts made sure we had everything we needed. Even went to the store for a specialty item for us that we forgot!

    Judy2018-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Eileen's cabin was absolutely perfect! You drive down a very peaceful dirt road, and arrive at an adorable cabin. It is only about a 3 minute walk from the front door to the lake, which was so serene! The place was clean, and Eileen provided more than enough sheets, blankets, pillows, etc. Something to note about the location - there is not a lot of cell service in the entire area in general (part of the allure), so if you plan to explore the area, and know specific locations you want to travel to I would recommend printing out directions (old school style) just so you don't have to rely on GPS.

    Mackenzie2018-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • Eileen was great very accommodating and very accessible during my stay!

Off-grid yurt in the woods. Get away from the Coronavirus pandemonium and hide out in the middle of nowhere. A perfect spot for shelter in place quarantine. Keep warm by the wood stove. Hike on the many miles of trails right outside the door. Have a fire in the fire pit. Get back in touch with a simpler life.
The yurt is barebones. Only a futon , 2 shelves, and a woodstove are in it. You will need to provide cooking supplies, bedding, lighting and water. Very pretty glamping bug out location. Feel free to spread out and use the firepit, tent platform, and explore the forests. Be prepared for a camp like experience. There is no running water on site. Bugs, rain, snow, mud, etc. outdoors. Inside the yurt is beautiful.
Secluded, quiet location with miles of trails. Wonderful rivers, mountains, waterfalls, lakes, and forests.

  • Fred and Richele are great hosts! This place has a great bang for the buck and who doesn't love waking up to the view of the beautiful mountains. We have stayed in the yurt they offer, which is awesome, very unique! This time I rented a simple campsite on the property. It's rustic but it works and the price is right. Very pretty scenery too! It's close to Keene State College which worked out great as I was in town to visit my son who is a student there. This is not a campground, but a cool small skiing and tubing hill for the locals! So go on up, pitch a tent, and do some snow tubing or share a beer with the friendly hosts. FYI, there is only an outdoor shower. This was the only drawback as the temps are already dropping here in October. Not a deal-breaker, just something to be aware of.

    Chris And Ryan2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • This is a camping spot on a very flat and well-mowed spot of a small local skiing and tubing hill. There is a small camping ring (bring your own wood), a picnic table at the spot, and you can use the guest bathroom in the ski lodge as well as the outdoor shower complete with hot water. This is no frills, but it is a gated, safe space in a beautiful location within a few minutes drive of Otter Creek State Park (and a beach), and very close to Keene, NH. The bathroom is clean, the shower is private, and it was perfect for us. We actually slept on a futon mattress in our Honda van, and we got an excellent night's sleep in this peaceful location. Route 9 runs by the ski lodge, but there are trees buffering the traffic, so it doesn't feel like you are exposed to the road traffic at all. It was white noise at night, and we didn't notice any big rigs or loud traffic noise. Richele is responsive and gave us very clear instructions on accessing the area and there were clear signs pointing us to our spot. It was beautiful at night. The stars were a sky dome and the crickets made nice night music. Great spot if you know the weather is going to hold!

    Tracy2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Easy to follow directions to get to the camp site and the host was very helpful. We got a bit frazzled after arriving in the dark on bicycle due to some bad luck and a couple of flat tires in a row..and when we contacted them on the phone they guided us through getting into the gate w/ no issues. It was also really great to camp at a place with a real common area for bathrooms/showering after having spent the previous night at a more rustic site. Good for stargazing. A nitpick would be that the road it's next to is pretty busy. But, we knew that when we decided to camp there...so, it wasn't exactly unexpected. Great location only ~5 miles from the center of Keene.

    Ali2019-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Great campsite...lots of room. In a nice grassy field...very open. Mostly quiet but could hear some road traffic. Bathroom clean and outdoor shower nice. Would recommend for camping.

Cozy, light filled guest bedroom with a memory foam bed. Our guests agree: this bed is super comfy! Spacious shared bathroom. This modest, clean and warm home is on a large lot in a quiet neighborhood with easy access to parks and trails. We're less than 5 minutes from major shopping plazas and Antioch University; about 7 minutes to downtown and Keene State College.
Our guest room is quiet and clean, with hardwood floors and views of green spaces from both windows. Nice sunset views and ample closet space for storage. Blackout drapes provide a restful environment. Please note that if you are especially tall, this may not be the bed for you! It is a double (full) size bed with headboard and footboard.
We're in a suburban neighborhood; vehicle traffic on our street is pretty minimal. Our lot sits between a wooded park and school athletic fields; on weekdays, expect to see morning and afternoon school foot traffic, and sports practices in the afternoons during fall and spring. Weekends and evenings are typically very quiet.

  • Our stay at Linda's place was amazing. Linda was very friendly and responsive to our messages. The place was quiet and perfectly equipped for our three-day stay. I would definitely stay again next time I visit the area.

  • A true gem of a place! Linda and Peder were incredible hosts with fantastic tips about local events and they gave us such a warm welcome to their beautiful and spacious home which had every amenity. We would absolutely recommend their place to anyone looking to get away and enjoy NH and the surrounding areas. We skied Pats Peek (about 25-30 min away-a beautiful and easy drive!) both days we were there and it was awesome! Thank you so much for such a wonderful weekend!!

There is a wonderful local art gallery and Washington is the home of Gibson Pewter. I highly recommend this lovely place.

1850’s farmhouse separated into two units. The rest of the house is owner occupied; this apartment is setup to be rented out. The bedroom has a queen bed, a couch and a smart TV with cable. Less than 10 minutes walk to Central Square, Dunkin Donuts, Starbucks, pizza, and Elm City Brewery 15 minute walk to Keene State

  • I stayed with Michael for a month. The bedroom has a very comfortable bed, a tv, and a small couch. There is a full kitchen with everything you need for meal preparation. Michael was very respectful of my privacy, and responded to my messages very quickly. It doesn’t take more than 10 minutes to walk to Central Square and down Main Street where there are great restaurants, cute cafes, and specialty stores. I enjoyed my stay with him and would definitely stay with him again.

  • Everything here is exactly as advertised. Space was VERY clean and well appointed. Absolutely perfect size for a quick stay of up to 2 people. I would not stay here with any sort of larger group. Check in was easy and the place had everything I needed for a two night stay. Just a few blocks away from restaurants, shopping etc.

    Paul2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Michael's apartment is great for a weekend or short stay: walking distance to town, modest-sized kitchen and super clean. We had a problem with the heat and Michael responded to our text in less than 5 minutes and immediately resolved the issue. Only caveat is that there are steep stairs leading up to the apartment, so if mobility is an issue for your or someone in your party, this would not be a good choice. But otherwise, this is a superb value.

    Joanne2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Michael's place is cozy, cute, and was a great choice for my one night stay in Keene. The radiator does get very loud sometimes, but with my white noise machine I brought, my boyfriend and I were able to sleep just fine. The apartment had everything we needed to have a very comfortable stay. Overall, I would definitely recommended this place!

Quiet lake experience, especially on weekdays, to get away and reset your busy life! 2 kayaks for your use at no extra charge. Lots to do in the surrounding area, but most people don't want to leave this beautiful setting. (Pets are not permitted)
Highland Lake is a hidden wonder in NH. Our family has been coming here for decades and are still making wonderful memories! This cabin is at the end of a dead end road so you will have privacy! There is a small outdoor deck and a swimming area. You will have your privacy, but we are available if you have questions. Family camp since 1940. Your hosts reside in the main house and your cottage is far enough away for privacy but close enough if you need any assistance. You must have your own car. We have had many years here making wonderful memories. Now you have an opportunity to create your own! This is truly a magical place. Once you experience it, you will want to return each year.

  • Cant say enough about this visit to the past - the cottage is just as rustic as promised and we loved it - the fires- the loons - the views. Everyone should experience this little piece of heaven. There is a general store right down the street were you can get all you need if your not too picky. We didn't stop for provisions on the way so we got what we wanted at that local place. If the bar/restaraunt at the marina real close was open it would have been over the top. Chet filled us in on the history of the place he was great . THANKS CHET Tessa and Charlotte - we will try to come back

    Charlotte2019-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful rustic cabin right on the water. Just be aware that Highland Lake does have a lot of speedboat and personal watercraft traffic. However, this cabin is near Pickeral Cove which is quiet and perfect for kayaks and canoes.

    Christopher2019-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • Are you looking for a charming, rustic cabin RIGHT on the lake? Look no further! This place is wonderful. We spent nearly all weekend on the little lakefront deck. There's a fantastic bathtub and boats, and Chet was a very welcoming host. Do bring a jacket if the nights get chilly--you'll want it for mornings in the uninsulated cabin.

    Nissa2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Unique experience staying in a renovated boat house. Beautiful stop on the lake. Had a lot of fun using the kayaks and hiking.

    Sarah2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • Exactly as described. A unique experience right on the lake.

    Patrick2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • This place is awesome! Kris and Chet are super nice, the cabin is so cool, right on top of the water and the deck is shaded and a perfect place to hang out and watch the boats go by. Even the little paths to get around the place are cool. Easy to get to. I loved the outdoor shower! The lake is really nice, clean and refreshing. Brought everything I needed for the weekend but there's a shaws 25 mins away if you need anything.

    David2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • This is our second time returning to Chet's cabin if that's any indication on how much we like the place. It's in a beautiful location with immediate access to the lake and while it did get chilly at night time, there are plenty of linens to keep us warm. If you're looking for a getaway devoid of cell signal, Chet's cabin is a great choice.

✓ Two Beds: One Queen and One Futon. ✓ Bedroom has Adjoining Sitting Room. ✓ Wifi and Smart TV with Local Channels. ✓ Complimentary Water, Tea and Coffee. ✓ Bathroom Includes Shampoo and Soap ✓ Two Block walk to Downtown Keene You will be staying in one of the oldest homes in Keene. The Aaron Seaman House was built in 1804 and maintains much of it's antique Colonial Charm. We welcome travelers from all walks of life and consider hosting a privilege.
Your rooms include a bedroom with a queen bed with 100% cotton linens and an adjoining sitting room with a futon that can be used as a double bed. There is a door in between the rooms so if one person wants to sleep, while the other stays up to read or watch some TV, this gives added privacy. Your rooms also include a ✓ mini-fridge and ✓ coffee / tea set up ✓ and bottled water. Your bathroom has shampoo, conditioner and body wash provided in the 42" x 36" stand-up shower. Please note the decorative shower door has an opening of 18" wide. We only use 100% cotton towels / wash clothes. The Aaron Seaman House is over 200 years old and retains many of its antique charms such as wide wooden board floors, stained glass over the entryway, and classic crown molding around the downstairs doorways. Being over 200 years old, it also has the typical quirks of a house this age. The walls are original plaster / horse hair and the floors have settled throughout the years. Back in the day, homes were made for much shorter people, so for our taller guests, keep that in mind as you enter the rooms! In addition to your private rooms and bathroom, there is also a sitting area at the top of the hall, beside your bedroom. It’s another area that you are welcome to use.
Keene is a quaint New England town with an "up and coming" foodie and art scene. You will be two blocks from downtown Keene / Head of the Square with easy walk to Keene's many local shops, cafes, restaurants as well as Keene State College. Enjoy the free walking tour of the Wall Dog Historical Murals scattered around the downtown. There are also walking bicycle trails nearby too. We are an easy drive to many lakes, hiking and ski areas, including the famous Mt. Monadnock. Spofford Lake, Surry Dam, Island Pond and Warren Lake are some local favorite swimming and kayaking spots. 15 minutes North is beautiful Walpole, NH with Burdick's Chocolate Shop and European Restaurant, as well as the stunning Walpole Mountain View Winery. A 20 – 25 minute drive West will take you to Brattleboro VT, a funky, fun classic VT spot. The Marina Restaurant and Whetstone Brewery's rooftop Beer Garden both overlook the Connecticut River. We love visiting the Grafton Cheese shop and Saxton River Distillery in Brattleboro. Many ski areas are in easy driving distance: Granite Gorge, Crotched Mountain, Mt. Sunapee, Mt. Snow, Pat’s Peak and more!

  • Bonnie and Abe are sweethearts! Their space is sparkling clean and has thoughtful touches everywhere! She went the extra mile; buying some chocolate covered strawberries for my wife's birthday which coincided with our stay! They were available but always gave us space and privacy. Matter of fact it was as though the space was in another house altogether. The space is thoughtfully furnished! Bed is incredibly comfortable. Area has a small but tasteful living room with pull out couch and tv and such. Bathroom is spotless and furnished with everything a guest would need. The house is easy to find and a walking/short driving distance from restaurants and entertainment. If ever in Keene again, I know where I'll stay. My wife and I both loved it!

  • This AirBNB was amazing! The decor was lovely with authentic charm and complimenting colors. It was very clean and well maintained. There communication before and during our stay was exceptional. The extra amenities such as bottled water, Keurig coffee/tea, mini fridge and bathroom toiletries were thoughtfully provided. They even provided bathrobes, cloth slippers and eye masks, for lounging or relaxing. The electric mini fireplace provided a cozy New England feel to the room. We especially enjoyed the separate/adjoining sitting area. We look forward to staying again!

  • I had the most amazing stay at my first ever Airbnb with Bonnie & Abe. They were so nice and hospitable. This was way more than I expected. Thank you, - Phil

  • To stay at the Aaron Seaman House in Keene, New Hampshire was unique opportunity while visiting this small college town. The historic home has charm and warmth, with personal touches made by Bonnie and Abe. The room and sitting area is warm, bright, welcoming, and provides provincial colonial charm and comfort to the weary traveler. From the personal touches of maple candies on the bed, a welcome note on things to know, and a slate board for a personalized message welcoming you, this was a genuine diamond of a find. I most enjoyed my stay here, and would highly recommend it to anyone. I video-called my spouse to show her the space, and we wish to visit sometime in the summer to enjoy the town of Keene and to stay here at the Aaron Seaman House.

  • This was a very nice experience. I'm not what you would call a camper, but they offer just enough comfort that I was very comfortable. Nice comfy bed. A ton of room in the yurt There is a nice stream out in the backyard. Also, the beach was a 5-minute drive and was a nice peaceful experience. The outdoor shower was a very cool experience. My dog could roam off-leash all these beautiful hills. What made the stay so great was the host Rochelle. We had pretty serious car trouble and she was so gracious to us - she went above and beyond what any host would ever do to help us. I recommend and will return.

Welcome to The Phineas Handerson House, originally built in 1827 by the “the happiest man in town” Able Wilder. Modern eclectic one-bedroom apartment, just one block from Central Square in Downtown Keene. Featuring newly remodeled kitchen, fitted with electric range and microwave. Other tenants occupy part of the building, but guests have a private entrance and off-street parking behind the building. Comfortable for two guests but can sleep up to four. Pet friendly!
Staircase that ascends to the apartment is very steep. The sofa in the living room pulls out into a queen size bed. Full bath with shower and small tub. Wifi, internet, and basic cable are all provided. Kitchen is equipped with coffee maker, toaster, electric tea kettle, and utensils.
For breakfast try Timoleon’s or Lindy’s Diner. If looking for brunch on Saturday's and Sunday's head to Machina Kitchen and Art Bar. For a locally sourced and environmentally conscious meal, check out The Works Café or Country life. Best coffee in the county is at Prime Roast on Main Street. There is also an array of Asian and Mexican restaurants and fun bars like the 21 Bar and Grille, Lab n’ Lager, and Machina. Finally, if you enjoy fine local spirits, come visit us in Winchester at the New England Sweetwater Distillery.
  • We had a great stay in Keene! Excellent location and A wonderful host. Thanks!

  • Great little place right outside of town. Perfect for a walk to get a coffee or something to eat from any of the neat restaurants in the area.

  • Located right in the middle of town, just off the square, this little apt could not be more convenient. Let’s see: clean, neat, crisp, easily accessible, parking, great directions. Perhaps the stairs are a tiny bit steep. But honestly, I would stay again any time. Patti is right there to answer should you need anything. And pet friendly. That’s a huge plus ❤️

  • The Phineas is in a prime location convenient to Main Street. Patti was a very responsive host and helpful as I was looking for apartments. I would stay here again.

  • Patti's place is cozy and convenient to downtown Keene, nice and clean, and just the right size for two. Stylish decor, plenty of art on the walls, simple and pleasant.

Newly renovated bedroom and living room apartment with a full bath and personal parking space. We have added a refrigerator, a microwave and coffee-making implements to the guest quarters. The kitchen is shared - meals can be arranged.
Welcoming, warm and private space with a bedroom for two and a fold-out couch in the living room.
We are surrounded by hiking trails and lakes, near mount Monadnock and any number of quaint New England villages with their greens, churches and general stores. Historic Harrisville is home to the last family owned woolen mill and weaving loom factory. Boston is about two hours by car, New York about four. The White Mountains can be reached in about two and a half hours.
  • hans &marcy were amazing, will definitely return, definitely a " my house is your house" , experience !!

  • My friends and I had a wonderful time staying with Hans and his wife. Hans gave us food/hiking suggestions for our weekend, and was nice enough to give us eggs to cook for breakfast. We had a great time chatting with him over breakfast and learning about him and his wife. Highly recommend staying - the home is very cozy!

  • I was blown away at how much room there was. This is a quaint private apartment attached to the back side of the house surrounded by beautiful views. Location, location location. I highly recommend if you do not want the hustle and bustle of Keene. We were fortunate to book since we waited last minute during a wedding weekend. Blessed to have found this place and look forward to staying again. Many thanks to the hosts who were so welcoming and wonderful. A happy gal from Virginia, Nona

  • So grateful to Hans and Marcy for their friendliness and hospitality! The apartment is in a great spot for exploring the area.

    Will Haldean2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed in this apartment for a month and a half. The location in Harrisville was perfect for us. Having access to the clean and beautiful Silver Lake right down the hill was perfect. Harrisville is one of the most beautiful tiny brick/mill towns on a lake that is still untouched by time. The General Store overlooks a picture perfect setting. I guarantee you will be taking pictures. If you like to run or walk, there's dirt roads around the lakes, or to remote ponds and old historic farm houses. Very little traffic in this area. A fifty mile hiking trail is down the road. Bring your fishing pole too. Farm stands will supply you with fresh local produce and pies. The apartment is sweet. It has everything you need. The kitchen that is shared with the owners is a big homey farm kitchen. Hans and Marcy are very friendly too. Their yard is huge with a tree house, hammocks, chair swings and plenty of cool stuff for children including a huge stage for plays. My grandchildren loved coming here. There's also blueberries, raspberries, huckleberries, blackberries and peaches. We really had a great time and highly recommend this Airbnb.

I live on a country dirt road in a 100+ year old New Hampshire farm house less than 5 miles from Mt Sunapee skiing and state beach. My guest accommodations feature a large private bedroom, private bath, and long private covered porch complete with rocking chairs. Guest quarts are separated from main house by shared entry with locking doors to each. Features a lovely view of the back side of Mt Sunapee, with nature pond and animals. Well-behaved and housebroken dogs on leash are considered.
The guest room has a large recliner that reclines almost flat and can serve as another bed in a pinch or watch TV/read near the lovely electric stove for extra heating in the winter. The large en-suite bathroom includes a large handicap accessible shower with seat. Need to do some work? We have a small work space as well as coffee, tea, and small fridge to keep you going! But don't forget to enjoy your time at Meadowsweet Farm, so make sure to use the private porch and take in the country air and watch the goats play.
I live in the rural small town community of Goshen, New Hampshire, population of 801, on a town maintained dirt road just off a tar road that locals call "the highway". It is in reality a winding road with homes dotted along it, leading to route 103 which directly runs to the Mt Sunapee Ski Resort and state beach. I am less than 5 miles from Sunapee Lake and another few miles from Sunapee Harbor. There are local restaurants, stores, quaint tourist attractions, and Sunapee Lake tours.
  • This was an ideal AirBnB experience. Heidi was available as needed but also respected our space and privacy. The room is very comfortable with a smart TV and space heater in addition to the Keurig stocked with coffee and tea which was so nice to have in the morning. And it was a joy to watch the goats out the window! We only stayed one night but it is definitely somewhere we want to return to! The location is fantastic for winter and summer activities in Mount Sunapee area.

  • The place was great, clean, comfy, warm, and what a view.

    Christopher2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at Heidi’s farm. The room / suite is super cozy and has all the amenities you need. We enjoyed relaxing on the porch overlooking the property after our ski day. Heidi was thoughtful and easy to communicate with. Well located to mount sunapee. Thank you Heidi, we hope to be back!

    Crystal2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • There's nothing to hide with this place. The pictures of the surrounding area and space look beautiful because the space IS beautiful. I came up to ski and this room was a blessing to come back to after an exhausting day. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the coffee/tea station was a very thoughtful touch. Accommodations aside, Heidi was incredibly responsive and even offered to take us down to the barn to see the goats after we expressed interest. Would absolutely recommend this spot to anyone interested in exploring the area.

    Jacob2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Great value for a relaxing stay. You can simply go about your business or say hello to Heidi at any time as she is easily available, delightful to talk with and super friendly.

    Luis2020-01-08T00:00:00Z
  • This was a perfect space for a weekend up at Sunapee. Heidi was always quick with communication and check-in was very easy. The room was very comfortable and clean, and it included all of the amenities I could possibly need. The area was quiet and a very quick drive to Mount Sunapee. Overall I highly recommend this room and this host!

Welcome to 13 Hills! Set in the picturesque Monadnock region, our earth-sheltered home offers magnificent views, serenity, and comfort, With an open concept living/kitchen/dining/media area with a stone fireplace, an 1100 square foot terrace with firepit and year-round hot tub, this is not your usual B&B. Your room has a king-size memory foam bed, bureau, 42 inch TV, DVD & internet services, a full bath with tiled shower, and panoramic vistas. Full breakfasts of your choosing are our specialty!
Our 1800 square-foot home is earth-bermed, making it naturally warm in the winter and cooler in the summer. We have solar electric with battery back-up, so we always have electricity even if the grid is down for an extended time (and a gas generator as a back-up to that!). The house features a great room with a dining area, stone fireplace, living room, kitchen and media area. Your bedroom features a king-sized memory foam mattress, chair, bureau, night stands, lamps, clock radio, luggage stands, a 42 inch TV with Netflix, Amazon and Hulu, and a Blu Ray DVD. Open the curtains and you'll be treated to our wonderful view of Beryl Mt. and the hills beyond. A crib (and baby monitor) is available in the room across the hall, which is why the listing shows 1 bedroom but 2 beds. The full bathroom has a newly-tiled shower and blue-tooth speaker. Robes and slippers are in your closet for use to/from the hot tub, where swim suits are optional. Smoking is permitted in the enclosed porch and outside. Complimentary coffee and tea service is in your room for your convenience. The 1100 square foot terrace features a fire pit for nighttime enjoyment, chairs, picnic table, and 2 grills, one of which is vegetarian-only. Our treadmill, also with a 42" TV and streaming services, is available for use in the year-round greenhouse, next to your room. Our rescue dog, Hannah, is a mixed breed who loves attention, so if you don't like dogs, we're not the right place for you. To see the most recent video of our house search "Byll & Cheryl's Earth-Sheltered Home Update 2016" on YouTube. This search will also pull up all of the other construction videos and previous updates. For an aerial look at the house, search for "13 Hills - A Unique Earth-Sheltered Destination". We also have a pool room in our upper garage, which is available to guests. We host Tuesday night pool sessions for our friends, and you are welcome to join us. A dart board and darts are also in the pool room. Our house is surrounded by hills, so we have great sledding, cross country skiing and snow shoeing in the winter. Our main highway is a favorite of bicyclists, offering a 22 mile loop of primarily flat terrain paralleling the Cold River. Beryl Mountain offers good hiking and a variety of stones and crystals. Pitcher Mountain is just 20 minutes away and affords the closest panoramic views of the entire region. Mt. Monadnock, one of the most-climbed mountains in the world, is about an hour away. The major towns in the area - Keene, Claremont and Springfield, VT - are all about 25-30 minutes away. 13 Hills is registered with the State of New Hampshire as a Bed and Breakfast and our license number is 062015. We were recently awarded the highest customer satisfaction award by Booking.com. Visit our Facebook page - 13HillsBnB.
South Acworth is a quiet, off-the-beaten-track village that boasts a community-run country store that dates to 1865. Many local craftspeople and artisans have their wares available for purchase there, and the store stocks all the necessities and last-minute items. The Cold River runs through the town, and is bordered by hills on both sides, so we are often treated to fog views in the valley below us. Rt. 123A, which parallels the river for 11 miles, has been recently paved, making it a great bicycle route as it's fairly flat with just enough hills to make it interesting. Our community church features a recently renovated steeple and the town library, founded in 1891, houses an extensive stuffed bird collection. Beryl Mountain, of which we have a magnificent view, is the source of the beryls used in making the first atomic bomb and is a favorite with rock hounds. There is easy access in town to the vast NH snowmobile trail system, and we have great hills for sledding and cross-country skiing. There are 4 downhill skiing areas and 2 touring areas within an hour's drive, the closest being Mt. Sunapee, about 35 minutes away. Our own hills are perfect for easy sledding, snow-shoeing or cross country skiing. The nearest town of any size is Walpole, home of Ken Burns of PBS fame and a very good restaurant - The Restaurant at Burdick's. Keene, Claremont and Springfield are all about 25-30 minutes away and offer a wider array of shopping, dining and movies.
  • Hannah and Byll greeted us when we drove up and both of them were sweet all throughout our stay. The personalized parking spot was a nice touch. The bed is on the softer side. The view from the bedroom is spectacular and the personal bathroom is spacious and well-appointed. The room had everything we could think of needing closet, dresser, nightstands, alarm clocks, USB docking station, TV with Netflix and other options, local info, etc. We enjoyed our time in the hot tub and it was great to have use of house slippers, robes, and a flashlight! Byll's breakfasts were delicious and filling, and the use of home-grown ingredients was a treat! We highly recommend staying here!

  • You will definitely enjoy your stay with Byll and Cheryl and Hannah! Byll and Cheryl are very good at communicating every step of the way! They and their home are very welcoming and accommodating! Byll and Cheryl clearly let us know all the details we needed to know about our stay and were available to answer the few questions we had. The view from their home is beautiful as are the grounds! Byll’s breakfasts are scrumptious and his coffees taste delicious!! Hannah is a sweetheart! You will love her too! Hurry and make your reservation and enjoy your stay!!

  • Byll and Cheryl welcomed us into their unique home with a great view. The breakfasts were great, Hannah the dog was adorable, and taking a dip in a hot tub under the stars when it is 5 degrees outside was also really nice. Would recommend for folks looking for a weekend away!

  • This was the perfect place to stay for a relaxing weekend away. The house and property are beautiful, and they put so much thought into everything. The breakfasts were delicious. We loved that the food was grown by the hosts or came from local friends. They were kind and friendly. There was even a binder with important information about the place, local attractions and maps, and details on how to use the tv, WiFi, and hot tub. They were very accommodating for anything we needed and made us feel welcome. Hannah was an adorable addition to the stay, too.

    Amber2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place to see a constant view and get the peace the city doesn’t offer. Great people, great views, it was a home away from home. You will enjoy your time in the hot tub, watching tv, exploring the views around. It is a great place to escape reality for a bit :)

Private rustic cabin offers peaceful getaway to pristine Granite Lake. Enjoy sunrise over the lake from the front deck and sunset from the back patio. In between, spend the day on the lake swimming in the private sandy cove, fishing or relaxing. The lake road is three miles around for a pleasant walk or bike trip. The area offers hiking trails and Mt. Monadnock only 45 minutes away. Small villages stores offer amenities while Keene with its many shops and restaurants is only 15 minutes away.
Wifi is available and a TV can be provided for DVD movie watching or streaming but unplugging is the main goal! The cabin has some games and books for your use.
Granite Lake is a friendly relaxed place with a great vibe. Kayak to the island for a picnic or head to area towns for great restaurants, shopping or farmer's markets.
  • This cabin is excellent! Very clean and well appointed - def a throwback to grandma's but will wifi, a grill and a microwave! Super clean and with new bathroom. The lake itself is one of the cleanest I've ever swum in and I loved the three mile walk/run around it. I could not have imaged a better or more perfect get away and Jen was the perfect host. We will be back!

  • This place was adorable! The house was the perfect size for me and my three friends to take a vacation for the weekend. The view at the lake was beautiful and serene. The house, around 15 minutes away from Keene, was the perfect location to be removed from everything, yet close enough to the town that we could easily go out to dinner or go shopping. Jen was also a wonderful host, who provided restaurant recommendations, directions to hiking trails, and was readily available when we needed. Her dog, Dobby, made frequent visits and we enjoyed his company very much. We will definitely be coming back!

An attached apartment in our home. It has a different entrance from our usual entrance, though you'll walk through our woodshop and storage area on the way to your room. Almost all of our guests have commented how clean it is. There is a very steep staircase with a sturdy railing, but some guests will find it hard to navigate. Make sure read the check-in instructions and wifi password, since sometimes guests' phones don't work when they get here (particularly t-mobile).
You will be staying in our "apartment" as we call it, though there isn't a separate kitchen area, though the bathroom has a large sink, so we've had long-term guests who cook use the sink for dishes, etc. If you are staying with more than two guests, there is an queen air mattress that we can provide as well. If you want to use the air mattress with just two guests, please choose three guests when reserving, and it will charge an extra $5 since we'll be washing two sets of sheets for you. It has a separate access to the house through the garage and a private bathroom. If want to reserve within the 48 hours, that it most likely fine. In general, we want more notice, but most times of the year, it will be fine and we'll likely see your request quickly, so go ahead and send the request.
We chose to live close to downtown to be able to walk to various things. We live in a small town of 6,000 people, and I'd guess a majority of them either know me or at least my name. We love small-town New England. Most will greet you as you walk down the street. Many properties in our area are in 1/2 acre lots and the immediate surrounding houses were built in the 1890s. We are walking distance to restaurants, bars, churches, a walking trail through the woods, the school playground and ball fields, library. Many people in the town drive, but there are a few of us who walk and bike. The main grocery store is a long walk or short drive away. There is a free, public beach 2-3 miles away with some rafts, nice sand, a boat launch, and a fishing area. In the winter, there is an outside ice skating rink within walking distance, and two small ski resorts ~10 miles away. Extending to 25 miles away, there are numerous mountains to climb and small cities with various conveniences. Let me know if you want restaurant recommendations. We have a bunch in town, some seasonal and I can let you know what I recommend. Cell phone service is good, with the exception of T-Mobile, which I don't think works anywhere near here.
  • Good

    Rebecca2019-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • A budget friendly and a good room for two people. The host respects our privacy a lot. It is a shared room in their home but has separate entrance so we can enter and exit at our own will. I would definitely prefer to stay at Jon’s place the next time I come to Hillsborough. I strongly recommend this place.

    Bharadwaj2019-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • This spot is perfect for a quick overnight. It is a very clean, above-garage apartment. Basic accommodations but all one really needs! The host was exceptional at communicating and I was thankful for that at 10:30pm when I still hadn’t received instructions from Airbnb on how to enter the property. Luckily, Jon was very quick to reply and sent me the relevant information.

    Cecily2019-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • The hosts are great. Quick responses and very helpful. The pictures perfectly show what the guest area looks like. It’s clean and a great value!

  • It was a good place.

  • Jon and Heather are very nice and willing to help in a seconds notice if you need anything. Their quick responses and pliotness prove that over and over again. Their place is quaint and homey and is perfect for any stay.

My husband and I have farmland in Hancock, New Hampshire. We have a private cottage that is located next to the main house. We have 32 Acres of Land for hiking, exploring and cross country skiing for our guests. We offer free canoe rentals in the summer, with free drop off and pick up at local waterways. There are plenty of local shops and restaurants in the Monadnock region.
One master bedroom with a queen size bed. The bunk room (no private door- it's a walk through to the master bedroom) has one fold away twin bed. There is also a very comfortable love-seat that a child could sleep on, as well. One bath, beautiful sunroom, eat in kitchen and living room. There is baseboard heat in all rooms, that is thermostat controlled. There is a washer and dryer in the bathroom. Which is free to use, for our guests. We're best suited for one couple or a small family. Just a reminder- we do not have WiFi
It's a quiet town. Norway Pond is right down the road from our cottage in Hancock. The Hancock Market has all the necessities you may need while you stay here. The town of Hancock has a warm feeling of a small town community. Stop at Fiddleheads Cafe for lunch. They make a wonderful pizza! If you want to take a walk through the town. There is a little goat cheese factory right on Main Street. Best of all, we're only 6.4 miles from the Crotched Mountain ski area in Bennington. The next town over, Peterborough, has plenty of shops and restaurants to visit too. Plus, you're about 45 minutes from concord and about 25 from Keene. The Merrimack outlets are about an hour away.
  • Humble Hospitality & just the right amount of quiet for the extended weekend trip with the counterpart. I will definitely be coming back here since I’m a heavy believer in staying at places that are period correct. Blueberry muffins were the perfect addition to an early morning before checking out the local mtns and trails. 🙏🏻

  • Responsive host, cute/quaint little place, very clean, very quiet, 10 minutes from Crotched Mt.

  • Ashley's cottage is an ideal stay on the way to ski country. It's a quintessentially rustic New Hampshire spot with farmlands all around. Plenty of lounging space after a long ski day.

    Kevin2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • Expect a cozy charming New Hampshire home that is clean, well-furnished, and warm!

  • Couldn't have had a better escape from Boston for the weekend. Ashley was a very responsive and generous host, and her cabin was clean, quiet, and spacious. Ashley greeted us upon arrival with the most delicious homemade pumpkin muffins and gave us amazing local suggestions. The town is quaint, charming, and quiet. Ashley's cabin is the perfect place to disconnect, read that book you've been meaning to for the past couple months, and get a great night's rest. We will definitely be returning!

    Allison2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Ashley was super responsive, offered ideas in the area for explore and was super friendly and welcoming- made us feel super comfortable!

    Jackie2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful location, wonderful host. Truly a hidden gem! The place is quiet, rustic and I wish our trip was longer so we could have enjoyed more of it. Hope to return in the future.

    Charles2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Ashley's place was a perfect spot for us when we came for a friend's wedding in the area. She was really easy to communicate with. Her husband even drove their canoe out to a nearby pond for us to use - what a treat! It's a beautiful area and easy to get into town to get breakfast, etc. too.

The 30” charcoal grill is waiting for your inner grill master. A five-foot dining table with umbrella and four cushioned chairs offers another option for dining out. During summer months, guests may enjoy in-season fresh herbs like basil, thyme, oregano, and dill, and a variety of fruits and vegetables as they ripen in the complimentary guest garden.
Bradford is a quiet and quaint town centrally located to all the best area attractions.
  • Alecia was a wonderful host. From her endearing and warm welcome, to her ability to foresee that all our needs would be met, she had everything covered! The cabin was extremely clean. It was also very quaint with many personal touches and lovely antiques. Furthermore, it was well-stocked with many comforts - fluffy towels, comfy couch, cozy blankets, home made “welcome” cake and very comfortable beds! Her welcome book was informative and thorough and included places to visit and local restaurants and stores. I will be back to visit, hopefully during another season so I can enjoy what that time of year brings.

    Monique2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • I feel Alecia deserves to be called a Mega Superhost. She clearly loves people and providing them with an unforgettable stay at her cabin. I have never been so spoiled anywhere! She went out of her way to make celebrating our wedding anniversary even more special. The cabin itself is comfortable and adorable. It's hidden away in the mountains, private and secluded. (There is no cell service on the mountain, so download your maps ahead of time!) The trails in the area are gorgeous, most notably the Andrew Brook trail (be prepared for steep climbs but an amazing view). We would certainly love to return to this area an explore more, and of course the only place we would want to stay is Alecia's!

    Ashley2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • An amazing gem! You won’t be disappointed!

    John2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Alecia’s place is wonderful! A group of friends and I wanted a relaxing weekend in a quant cabin and this was exactly that. Alecia went as far as making us freshly baked muffins and talking us through how to change the setting on the fireplace so that we were warm overnight when the temperatures dropped below zero. We were so cozy we didn’t even notice the temperature drop. Highly recommend this place.

    Christina2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy cabin with all the comforts of home. We enjoyed our escape to Bradford.

    Kem2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • Alecia's hospitality was unmatched. She met us upon arrival and gave a thorough tour including great suggestions for local dining and hiking. Every corner of the cabin was filled with homey touches. We loved the fireplace, lighting, comfy beds and cool stove. We hope to visit again.

    Jane2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • What more can I say than we hated to leave. A perfect spot to de stress and reconnect with each other! So many thoughtful touches! Cozy, charming, relaxing, quiet, romantic, we loved our stay in the cabin. Escapism at its best!

    Paula2020-01-09T00:00:00Z
  • I have been using Airbnb for past 5 years and Alecia’s place is by far the best place I have stayed. Her place isn’t a place where you just go to sleep and spend the night. You will feel like home. Everything that a home requires, her place has it. It’s a cozy place and she decorated the place perfectly and thoughtfully. Highly recommended. She is an amazing host. Very communicative and helpful.

    Michael2019-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • The location was perfect for us because it was right on the lake and had shallow water to start and gradually got deeper. Our toddler was able to play safely in the water. Perfect place to be on a hot summer’s day.

  • John was extremely responsive, and gave me a warm in-person welcome. He was right next door to answer any questions. The place is perfect for someone traveling alone, or a couple. The outside of the cottage is shared. There is a private grill for guests of this cottage to use, and one firepit which is shared with 3 other cottages/houses. The outside deck faces Granite Lake, so you can view sunsets from your very own dining table/outside deck. Granite Lake has super clear water, and is a joy to swim in. Highly recommended!

The area is home to great hiking, boating, skiing, antiquing and New England's laid back, friendly, welcoming communities. This village of Bellows Falls is home to many old, gracious Victorian homes, a lovely downtown with unique shops, wonderful restaurants and beautiful views of the Connecticut River and the hills of New Hampshire. The house is one of the old Victorians, creatively rehabbed into a grand yet down-to-earth home. A backyard is available for guests' lounging outdoors.
The Blue Room is on the second floor, overlooks the backyard and has two large windows. A large closet and chest of drawers is available. A bathroom is nearby, on this floor.
  • Really beautiful and clean, wonderful service and amenities!

  • Barbara's is a grand old home in excellent condition, and she is warm and welcoming. Very comfortable stay, with a host that goes out of her way to make you feel at home.

    Suzanne2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • My time at Barbara’s wonderful home was more of an experience than a stay. The home is such a lovely older antiqued home that has been restored and kept up so beautifully. Barbara is one of the most wonderful host you could have through the Airbnb experience. I would definitely stay there again given the chance.

    Cheryl2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • My Dad actually stayed this time. It was everything I had explained to him. He will definitely stay there on his next trip to Vermont. Great value for the money.

    Rhonda2019-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • Barbara’s place is the best Airbnb I have stayed at, and what an opportunity to stay in such a beautiful Edwardian home! Great facilities, breakfast items, gorgeous rooms, garden. Short walk to the Main Street -Moon dog cafe & Wunderbar were my favourites. Thank you Barbara, such a wonderful host & I hope to stay again beautiful Bellows!

    Jody2019-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • Barbara is the nicest person on the planet and couldn’t be more hospitable and accommodating. She went above and beyond in a near crisis situation for me. Her communication before with advice during my visit was exceptional. Bellows Falls is charming and the location of her magnificent home is perfect. I’ve had many, many fabulous Airbnb experiences and visited Vermont several times, but my stay far exceeded my expectations.

One bedroom apartment with kitchenette (mini-fridge, coffee maker, microwave, dishes etc.), full bathroom with laundry, and open living space. I am an English teacher, so there are lots of books! Apartment is located in the Village of Saxtons River- within easy walking distance from the Market, Vermont Academy, our new Park, and Main Street Arts.
This space was a full apartment under a previous owner, but no longer has a full kitchen, so minus the stove-thing, it is a big cheerful apartment. We have provided enough for kitchenette life (making coffee, storing take-out, making pb&j sandwiches...) and lots of nice spaces to read, hang out, and enjoy your time in southern Vermont. The bedroom has closets, there is room for a crib if you are traveling with young children (we have an extra if needed), decorations are artsy and eclectic. In the bathroom there is a full washer and dryer, and a combined tub/shower.
Saxtons River is a small town, with the standard general store, inn (with bar), breakfast place, and church. There is a cool arts organization (Main Street Arts) that often hosts art shows and theatrical productions. We are also really close to Bellows Falls, which has a few nice restaurants, some breakfast spots, coffee shops, and antique stores. We are also really close to Grafton, Chester, Putney, and about 45 minutes from Okemo.
  • Whitney's AirBNB is adorable! My friend and I only stayed one night but the stay was clean, warm and the bed was very comfy. The town is very quiet and we enjoyed a bit of the night sky for once. If we're ever in the area again, we'll definitely be back!

    Wendy Awesome2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • 1st AirBNB experience, and it will be a hard one to top. Lovely space with lots of room. Travelling to a local event with dogs. Host was very accommodating. How can a place with Make Way For Ducklings, the Harry Potter series and a Tom Robbins novel be bad? Look forward to visiting again.

    Laura2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • We only stayed one very short night, but thoroughly enjoyed our stay! We received detailed information on where to park and how to access the apartment. Upon arrival I was pleasantly surprised; the space was larger than I expected. Very cute and cozy. Note in the description that there is no stove/oven, but there is a mini-fridge; larger than the usual college-type mini fridge. Plenty of space in it for a couple of days of groceries for small meals and snacks. The bed, and bedding, was very cozy! After a long drive, crawling into a comfy bed was a treat! Wish we could have stayed longer, but if we are back in the area we'll definitely look to stay here again!

    Cassandra2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We were seeking a cute & pet-friendly apartment as our relative is in a nearby assisted living facility—this place was just adorable!! It was nice and toasty when we arrived, and when the overnight low dipped below zero, we were snug as a big in a rug! If you are a reader, you will be in heaven—books abound! Clean, with a kitchenette with microwave, coffee maker, and refrigerator, and coffee accoutrements such as cream and sugar as well as some teabags made this exactly what we were looking for. Highly recommend and we will be back!
