Take in the rustic, fairy tale vibe of this custom-made treehouse in the midst of towering white oaks. Recline in a rocking chair and watch the sunset over the mountains, or try your hand at some stargazing from the comfort of the deluxe double bed. If your travel dates are not available on this calendar, visit on of our sister properties! See all of our listings at airbnb.com/p/treehousesofserenity
You have seen us on TV!! This treehouse was built via an episode of The Treehouse Guys, on the DIY network which aired August of 2017! Just as exciting as an hour TV show, we were also featured in an HGTV & Travel Channel Facebook video which has been viewed more than 10 million times! Not to mention, local TV and print news. Treehouses of Serenity is located in north Asheville, just 10 short minutes from downtown. The treehouse offers 2 decks, one off of the main level facing west for the ultimate sunset viewing, and one off the bedroom to enjoy the sun rising with a warm cup of coffee. The main level consists of a cozy living area, kitchen (refrigerator, microwave, two burner hot plate), and bathroom with conventional toilet, stoned floored shower with rain head. Upstairs you will fall asleep while gazing at the stars through 2 triangle windows high in the treehouse peak. There is a double bed made up with high quality sheets and pillows for your comfort. Two adults can comfortably sleep in the double bed. The fold-out style couch on the main level would ideally sleep one adult or 2 small children. Other features that you will find when visiting the treehouse; antique furnishings, red oak floors, 2 wall mounted mini split units for heat and air, TV with Netflix and an Amazon Fire stick (no cable), WIFI, coffee, tea and electric outdoor grill.
The treehouse is built on an 8-acre parcel, 10 minutes from downtown Asheville. The property is within easy driving distance of restaurants, grocery stores, and the local visitor center. The area is wooded, but you will hear some road noise in the distance. We are excited to be expanding! In addition to this treehouse, we are currently building 4 additional treehouses, as well as an underground hobbit-like home. All of these new units will be available in early 2020, if not before.

  • We had a wonderful stay with our baby in the magical and really real tree house. Despite the bad weather, the view was wonderful. Caroline and Mike were very attentive hosts and responded quickly to our requests. The tree house is beautifully designed and furnished. We particularly liked that there was fresh coffee and a French press. We can only recommend "Treehouses of Serenity"!

  • Such a lovely escape! My husband and I so enjoyed the views and character of the home. The hosts were helpful and made us feel welcomed. There is quite a bit of construction happening on the mountain, but we spent almost the whole weekend reading and relaxing on the balcony and weren’t bothered much by it. Would definitely recommend!

    Tess2020-03-29T00:00:00Z
  • Everything about this treehouse and our stay was excellent. I loved sitting on the deck with a cup of coffee and enjoying the views and relaxing. Can’t wait to come back! The owners are also extremely nice and helpful!

Equipped with picnic table and ample seating you will enjoy late nights under the stars roasting dinner and dining together around a warm fire. We have made sure to provide firewood for your use, but with all of the rain we have been having, please be sure to keep the wood covered. Head up the short hand crafted gravel path with landscape lights to guide you to your TreeTop retreat. Simply punch in the provided code to open the door to your relaxing stay. Enjoy amenities such as internet, propane cooktop with cast iron pan provided, mini fridge and electricity to make your stay as convenient and hassle free as possible. We also have the luxury of a full bathroom, toilet vanity and shower included along with a heater for the chilly winter days. The tipi itself is equipped with both heat and air conditioning (and is fully insulated). Sit back and unwind in our hand crafted reclined chairs and dim the lights on the unique antler chandelier. No worries about the late night, you can enjoy a hot cup of coffee on the porch the next morning after being gently awoken to the natural light and countless singing birds in the canopy of trees you gaze out on. In your city escape you will truly feel like you're in paradise and all within minutes of restaurants, shopping, late night drinks and ample activities for families and couples alike. Just 2 miles from Downtown Marshall, 20 minutes from Hot Springs, and 25 minutes from Downtown Asheville you'll truly love how off the beaten path you feel with all the convenience of adventure at your fingertips. We have a nice bring a bottle, leave a bottle of wine policy at the tipi. If you open a bottle of wine with the intent to drink it, but do not have a chance to replace it, no worries. We have a $10.00 fee you can place in the wine box for your convenience. We will also happily send you a request if you would prefer to pay for the wine through the Airbnb site instead. But please let us know so we can replace the bottle for the next guest to enjoy! (It really helps us to know to bring the extra bottle during the changeover for next guests! So thanks in advance!) In regards to your furry friends; we will only accept your well behaved dogs with a 30.00 pet fee, the understanding that they are not allowed on the furniture, you are responsible any damages incurred while they are staying at our location and prior discussion with us. Due to the lack of respect of other guests about communicating about our pet policy, if you bring a pet without prior discussion we will charge a 60.00 deep cleaning fee and make sure to note it on your review as a guest. Communication is so important to us, please never hesitate to ask questions or to let us know what your needs are! We strive to make every guest's stay with us to be special and enjoyable retreat. Looking forward to hosting you.
The neighborhood is quaint and neighbors are very friendly although seldom seen as our properties are quite spaced. The roughly 2 mile drive up from Downtown Marshall is a pleasant windy road decorated with wild flowers at the right time of year and pops of beautiful views along the way. You will truly enjoy the drive.
  • A wonderful relaxing getaway!

    Regina2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Such a unique getaway spot! Highly recommend for a private spot outside Asheville

    Angela2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • Very unique and delightful place! We just stayed one night as we were passing through on a road trip, but it was a perfect place to get some rest on our route!

    Jill2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • The tipi was well worth the drive. Inside was much bigger than expected and very comfortable. The heaters helped to keep the tipi nice and warm regardless of the weather outside, and everything was nice and clean when we arrived. The fire pit and charcoal grill were a nice touch, although it was too rainy during my stay to put either of them to good use. All in all, we loved our short stay at the tipi and hope to return soon.

    Dillon2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great stay if you want a fun and unique experience!

    Danielle2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • What a neat experience staying in a tipi in the mountains! Enjoyed the fire pit at night and when we woke in the morning it was snowing. We stayed warm with the blankets, heaters and the bathroom has a heater too. Don't pass up this opportunity if it is available.

    Paula2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Such a cool experience. We had a great time staying here. Would highly recommend to anyone! Beautiful and one of a kind! Very convenient to downtown. Very nice hosts!

Welcome to our (320sf/29m) rustic 'stuga'. We live 20 minutes from Asheville and 7 minutes to the quaint river town of Marshall. Folks love our place for the homemade character of the cabin, mountain views and interesting farm setting. It is perfect for couples or a single traveler seeking minimalist simplicity. Doggies welcome too! Un-plug in style while enjoying proximity to major sights, with starry night skies and a sunrise over our orchards and gardens.
Rustic elegance. Our cozy cabin is two-stories tall, on top of a hill overlooking our 'home hill' of 2.5 acres covered in young fruit shrubs and nut trees. On the first floor is the kitchen, small dining area and porch. Upstairs is a full-size bed and reading nook with mtn views. The kitchen is stocked with cookware, an electric burner, spices, oil, and a water heater (for coffee or tea), small fridge, and drinking water. The water system is rustic, but it works well. Fill up your own water from the spigot nearby. The cabin has an outhouse a short walk away, but no shower or bath. In cold weather, there is a space heater and a Turkish wood cookstove, the cabin is tight and heats up easily in winter. There's a garden fence that doubles as a pet enclosure (Yes, your doggies are welcome!) a fire ring for enjoying the nighttime out-of-doors and 3 miles of interesting walks and steep trails around the neighborhood that we have developed. We are slowly building an outhouse & seasonal bathhouse close to the cabin. People have booked our cabin for romantic getaways, for personal writing and music retreats but mainly for it's awesome proximity to hiking and culture. Many folks come to get a feel for staying in a tiny home and for it's interesting array of plants.
The neighborhood is rich with interesting people and projects, including an artisan cheese dairy and the 'Prama Institute and Wellness Center'. Geoff is an agro-forester who has helped develop most of the trails and planted fruit and nut trees around the neighborhood. You may notice that we are building a second larger guesthouse with attached greenhouse This is a great weekend getaway for people wanting to get away from the city, enjoy a taste of Asheville, read and write, or become engaged to their partner (twice happened!) Dogs are welcome and we are an affordable option to host small 40+\- person wedding ceremonies and receptions.
  • Cute little house in a very relaxing setting! I had a great time exploring the mountains and the owners were very welcoming and hospitable.

  • So many great things about this place. I wish we could’ve stayed longer. Great for people who love the outdoors and breathtaking views. We were able to bring our pet with us which made everything so enjoyable.

  • WONDERFUL SECLUDED PLACE. GREAT VIEWS. MINIMALISTIC LIFESTYLE & TINY HOUSE IF that's not your style and your not a fan of outhouses (Clean & sanitary no foul smell well kept) outdoor shower and true outdoor living dont book. I PERSONALLY LOVED IT!!!! However just beware this isn't for the prissy or needy.

SparkleBark Farm offers our open air guest cabin to those who want the comfort of a bed while enjoying the same breezes, wild flowers, fireflies, and early morning mist that you'd have while camping. Just a 15 minute drive away from downtown Asheville, NC.
Sparklebark Farm is a small-scale organic farm and homestead. For the past four years Zac and Bea, the owners, have been collaborating with a revolving cast of incredibly talented friends to make this land a model of sustainability, as well as natural and artistic beauty. We grow a ton of vegetables as well as flowers and keep flocks of free range chickens and ducks. Bea is a fine artist who makes beautiful nature-based drawings (check out her (email hidden)), and Zac is a builder and woodworker who has been pouring his heart into beautifying and constructing buildings and infrastructure at Sparklebark. Our vision is to continue to steward and beautify the land through agriculture as well as art, we are so excited to share this little slice of paradise!
Our neighborhood is the nearby mountain range. We live on seven acres of land, and rarely see or hear our neighbors. Sometimes if the wind is blowing the right way, you can hear the laughter of the children who live on the other side of the valley. We enjoy the rural setting but can be at any location in Asheville in under 15 minutes and on the blue ridge parkway or deep in the woods in 20!
  • We had a wonderful stay and loved waking up to the sunrise and the nature around us. A needed getaway!

    Kirby2020-03-29T00:00:00Z
  • Totally magical. We stayed here on a rainy 30° Halloween night, with the wind whipping right through the room, but the heated bed and electric kettle kept us cozy, and the experience was perfectly spooky. We didn’t wander the grounds as much as I’d’ve liked, but even in all the murk the farm was uniquely beautiful, and the craftsmanship on all the structures is stunning. They strike an impossible balance of natural wildness and comfy sophistication. We’ll definitely be back.

    Erika2019-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • The outdoor shower was really cool!

    Josh2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • Sparklebark was such a wonderful and unique stay! The grounds were spacious and fun, and the everything was handled perfectly! Would love to stay again and check out some of the other rooms.

    Ethan2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • The one thing my fiance and I regret is only staying one night. Although it was quite cold while we were there, the heated blanket and mattress pad kept us more than warm throughout the night. There were other guests at the property's other rentals however, the property is so spread out we felt we had the entire place to ourselves. A great and unique stay for Weaverville & Asheville travelers.

    Marcia2019-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • This one-of-a-kind experience can’t be missed. We were nervous it would be too cold (since you’re basically sleeping in whatever temperature it is outside), especially since it was cold and raining when we first arrived, but the place feels like a haven. They have the bed set up lofted high with a heated mattress and a heated blanket, and my friend and I each slept 11 hours each night we were there with the best sleep we’d had in AWHILE. The outdoor shower was wonderful too. The amenities were wonderful as well, like the nice kind of shampoo and condition and soap, not hotel bottles or something like that. If you’re looking for a different, “glamorous outdoors” type of experience that you’ll remember long after your trip, this is the place.

    Elizabeth2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • What a perfect little getaway! It was amazing waking up in nature to chirping birds and watching the sunrise through the trees. The outdoor shower was also really refreshing. It did drop into the 30's while were there at night, but we came prepared with extra blankets and hoodies. There's also an electric blanket on the mattress that really helped!

    Guadalupe2019-10-19T00:00:00Z

  • This peaceful retreat was just what we needed. The house space is lovely but the real treat is the abundance of outdoor amenities. We had such a wonderful time meeting the animals, exploring the trails, and relaxing on the swing up by the ridge overlook—such a gorgeous landscape. Rock and Kristalyn have put so much love into this property. Definitely one of our favorite stays, we can’t wait to return!

  • This cozy tiny house was perfect for three college students on spring break! The area is so peaceful and beautiful, we especially loved taking a walk in the morning and saying hi to the alpacas and goats :)

    Sara2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely stunning place with friendly hosts that met with us so we could pet/feed the animals on the property. Fantastic lookout views, would 10/10 recommend and plan on coming back someday

    Hunter2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • This tiny home was easy to find and perfect for what we needed! They even left us a “happy anniversary” post card. It was cozy and cute, I wish we could’ve had more time to explore the property.

    Brigitte2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at Rock's place. The property is amazing. The lookouts and trails were well maintained and beautiful. The zipline was a hit with the kids, as were the animals and swings.

    Staci2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great space! Peace, quiet, and land to explore in abundance. Would definitely recommend if you’re in the area.

    Jamal2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriend and I rented out the tiny for a weekend getaway. The hospitality was great, and when it snowed, Rock and Kristallyn even shoveled the steps for us. Very close to an awesome animal sanctuary called farmony, also just a short drive to downtown Marshall and only about a half hour to Asheville. Very easy to find, everything was clean and comfortable and we will definitely be back again. There is an amazing tree fort and several awesome views to see on the property.

    Ethan2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely great people and great location, the animals & land are stunning. Will definitely be back! Would recommend to anyone, the small life is my favorite.

Spend a unique night in our beautifully converted bus. Nestled in a pine forest at the crest of a ridge overlooking the Black mountains, but just 15 minutes from downtown Asheville. This romantic sanctuary is peaceful and lush.
This is not your typical hippy bus! Elegantly furnished and nestled in a pine grove, the bus provides a plush full size bed, sink, and eating area. The bus sits in the shade of the forest, is lined with windows and equipped with a standing fan so it stays totally cool and comfortable through the summer. It has electricity and a coffee maker. Sheets and towels are provided.
Our neighborhood is the nearby mountain range. We live on seven acres of land, and rarely see or hear our neighbors. Sometimes if the wind is blowing the right way, you can hear the laughter of the children who live on the other side of the valley. • We had a great time in the bus! The property is beautiful and we enjoyed being able to relax in the mountains for a couple of days. Would recommend for those looking for a no frills, relaxing, cozy space.

    Caleb2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I had a fun stay here for the last two days of our honeymoon. The outdoor shower was awesome in the rain!

    Justin2019-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • The bus was just perfect! There were lots of little touches that made it very comfortable, including a heated blanket. It had everything we needed and was very cozy even on a cool, rainy night in October. We arrived late at night, but the detailed directions and lighted path led us to the bus with no problems. The view at the farm is beautiful and getting ready at the outdoor bathroom was a fun experience. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone traveling to the Asheville area looking for a unique spot to stay!

    Laura2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • It's cute, cozy, and secluded, but just enough :) It's lovely sleeping amongst the trees and waking up in the pines. The smells are amazing, and you can't beat the view of seeing nothing but leaves outside your window!

    Teresa2019-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • A great little place to stay to get away from a busy lifestyle and get some peace and quite A great location and a short drive to Asheville. Definitely would recommend anyone to stay here, such an amazing place

  • The Lemon Drop exceeded our expectations! Eileen is so thoughtful - she had a dog toy for our pups in the house & even wrote my husband a birthday message on the chalk board because she knew we were vacationing for his birthday. I highly recommend!

  • Highly recommend this place, close to Asheville and to many essential shops. The place its ideal for a couple and has everything you might need and more

    Mario2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Love the Lemon Drop! Our second stay was just as perfect as the first. Very clean and cozy with a great space for our dog. We appreciated the extra touches like coffee and creamer, snacks, and drinks. Thank you for another great stay!

    Terri2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Cute place with lots of personal touches to make you feel right at home.

    Christian2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • My extremely picky fiance and I have been to several Airbnbs, and 'The Lemon Drop' has been by far, our most favorite. The bed and the couch was the most comfortable we've ever laid on. It was a cozy, stylish space stocked with snacks, drinks and basic necessities. (P.S., loved the sweet touch on the chalkboard! We felt very welcomed.)

    Carolyn2020-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Eileen's place in Mars Hill. So many great little touches and amenities. It was so easy to walk over to Main St for food and drinks... highly recommend the Stackhouse and the Hickory Nut Brewery. Thanks Eileen! We'll tell all our visitors to town to stay at your place.

    Peter2020-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • The pictures don’t do justice. The place is amazing. Super cute, sparkling clean and the bed is super comfortable. It has Complementary snacks, fridge stocked with water bottles and sodas, coffee and all the basics you need. Right next to a supermarket and gas station. Is 20 min away from downtown Asheville, the neighborhood is quiet and safe. Eileen is a very lovely host and you can tell she puts effort to make sure your stay is perfect. Would absolutely stay here again. We plan on coming back. 10/10 ❤️

Surrounded by hundreds of acres of wild and beautiful forest, this newly built apartment is perfect for a couple or individual looking for a meditative and relaxing environment that's not too far from Asheville. The space is very clean and colorful with unique custom woodwork and big windows and is located at the end of the road in one of the most beautiful coves in the region and biodiverse places on earth. People of all colors and backgrounds are warmly welcomed here
The studio has high vaulted ceilings that give it a spacious feeling and the floor is hardwood with colorful rugs throughout. The bathroom is tiny but has a claw foot bathtub with a shower attachment, marble tile, and unlimited hot water. In the kitchen you'll find a 2 burner cookstove, a toaster oven, all the basic kitchen stuff you will need to make your meals, and a smallish round table to eat them at. Beautifully crafted walnut, maple, hemlock, and poplar decorate every possible corner of every room, giving the space a very unique and natural elegance.
The nearest neighbors are all young homesteader types with amazing skills and stories, but you wont see or hear them from the property. You will hear lots from the non-human neighbors though. This lush forest is filled with the songs of rare birds, owls, crickets, and treefrogs with the only light pollution coming from the moon, stars, and fireflys.
  • Great spot, very close to downtown Asheville and very clean space. Alex was super helpful and hospitable!

    Grant2020-05-01T00:00:00Z
  • This place was everything I was looking for and more! Such a quaint spot nestled in a mountain valley, with so much nature to explore. I truly had a blessed experience with being able to get away from the world and to connect with Mother Nature. The constant sounds of the birds singing, streams flowing and views of the mountains were so soothing as soon as you stepped outside. I definitely recommend this place and the host was very generous and has a wonderful vibe that added even more to the relaxation of the space.

    Drew2020-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • This place was so cute, clean, and cozy! I loved the location in the mountains and Alexander was an amazing and responsive host.

    Calen2020-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • Alexander is a very friendly and welcoming host. We felt right at home and the apartment is so cozy and cute. The way up felt like a little adventure the first time (to us city folk ;) ). But it was easy after that first trip. We looked forward every afternoon to returning to our little house. We enjoyed the extreme quiet, the birds, the trees and the rain at night. The cats that came to say hello and stayed for some attention. It’s just a very sweet place to slow down and enjoy. The bed is super comfortable and the bathroom is perfect - warm shower and everything’s there. The place is perfectly clean and you can make some dinner and breakfast in the kitchen. You can sit outside and enjoy the weather, the trees and the birds - both at the front and back! Asheville was a nice place to visit, we felt very welcome. And there are also plenty of walks to do in the area. We can only recommend you stay here!

    Katja2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • Alex has a terrific place out in the country, I definitely recommend it if you are looking for something tranquil!

    Ethan2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • Alex was an amicable host, and the scenery around his place is lovely.

    Gia2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • This place is awesome. It’s a place where you don’t really want to be in the city but you’re still able to have access to it whenever you want! Asheville was just a 20 minute drive and this place was very clean, quiet, and in an amazing location. The style of the room was also pretty amazing, very homey and definitely a place where you should stay if you want to get away for a bit.

** Due to the Covid-19 crisis, we have chosen to offer our Hilltop as a campsite without the glamping sleeping tent. Guests will need their own sleeping tent and bedding. The Hilltop is a unique camping experience with beautiful mountain vistas. The site has a large fire pit (some firewood available & more available for purchase) and a rustic outdoor kitchen: charcoal grill, gas camp stove, electric instant hot water kettle. GAMES! Giant Jenga, a disc golf basket, corn hole and Yardzee

The Hilltop is 25 minutes from Asheville, 45 minutes from Hot Springs and 1 hr 15 minutes to Grandfather Mountain. Downtown Mars Hill is about a 10 minute drive with a grocery store, coffee shops, restaurants, a local brewery (opening soon), a farmer's market and gas stations. The Hilltop is surrounded by rural farms which makes it a beautiful area to ride your bicycle.
  • This Airbnb absolutely exceeded our expectations! The view from the hill was phenomenal, the campsite was charming, and the amenities were everything we needed! Meredith and James had the tent set up so wonderfully with homemade goodies to welcome us. They reached out to us a couple times during our visit to make sure we were all set with what we need while still giving us privacy. We loved the outdoor kitchen and enjoyed our meals by the cozy campfire. We truly appreciated this magical environment provided for us. We hope to back someday! So thankful we found this hidden gem!

  • We planned this trip last minute after other family vacation plans to go to Gatlinburg fell through. We wanted to be somewhere in the mountains still, and get to relax after a really stressful past few months. Peter is always busy with the wedding videography company he works for, and I'm a full time dental hygiene student along with working almost full time at Starbucks. We don't get to spend a ton of time together on a regular basis aside from waking up and going to sleep, and maybe a little time on Sundays when we both typically have more free time than usual. I found this listing on Airbnb after spending a few days looking at other locations and it seemed perfect from the beginning. Every expectation we had was exceeded. We got to play some Cornhole and use the hammocks for a bit before getting a fire built and grilling our dinner. We sat around the fire with a bottle of wine and our smores just talking for hours on end before finally cozying up in the tent and having some of the best sleep of our lives (the bed is SO COMFY and we are now putting a new mattress on our Christmas list). Also, having the ability to wake up and make a killer cup of pour over coffee while listening to the rain was for sure one of our favorite things as coffee addicts. Thank you for being so accommodating and having everything readily available for us to have a trip we won't ever forget. Waking up to the sound of rain on the tent while enjoying our coffee this morning was a dream come true. We will most definitely be back soon and hope everyone else who stops in enjoys this place as much as we have.

    Amber2019-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • Everything about our stay was amazing. We had everything we needed to prepare a delicious meal while taking in the gorgeous views. Our first night was a cold one but we had plenty of firewood and extra blankets to keep us warm. The cold is the best time to camp, in my opinion. I kept noticing little extra touches throughout the stay that kept reminding me of how darn cute our campsite was. We even got a picture with one of the family goats who came to say “hi.” I would highly recommend staying here for a no hassle, camping experience.

    Britney2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • This place is great! We decided to stay here because I love the idea of sleeping in a tent. Sadly we picked one of the really freezing cold nights but thanks to Meredith and James we had enough blankets and little heater that kept us warm. We loved the view and are definitely coming back in summer to fully enjoy this camping experience!

    Kerrin2019-11-03T00:00:00Z

Melt away stress in the tranquility of this country style home originally built in the 30s. The guest space features rustic contemporary furnishings & decor, a cozy lounge, a covered country porch & a private backyard w/ a fire pit & mountain views.
The home offers a quiet rural setting while still being a 5 minute drive to a variety of local restaurants and the grocery store. The home is tucked away on an easy-to-drive, state-maintained gravel road, with very few neighbors and surrounded by nature.
  • The airbnb was clean and very welcoming. Chelsea ensured I had everything I needed and was very helpful with recommendations! Overall a great experience!

    Paige2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Chelsea’s place was amazing! We felt like we had our own little private mountain studio. Everything was exceptionally clean and all amenities were provided. The heater in the room as well as the fireplace in the living area also kept the place cozy very quickly when we would return from our busy day’s visiting Asheville or hiking the parkway. The goats and private deck were also a great plus:) would definitely stay here again.

  • The Wolf Den is a great spot with a short drive into downtown Asheville or up to the Blue Ridge parkway. The apartment was spacious, the kitchen fully equipped, and the jacuzzi tub a really nice touch. We were only there for two nights but it totally felt like home. Rebekah was quick to communicate with us and check in was seamless. Great spot in the mountains!

    Tuch2020-04-10T00:00:00Z
  • The space was absolutely lovely, quick response and easy check in. I loved having a great kitchen to cook in, saving us a lot rather than going out! I highly recommend this to anyone. I enjoyed the decor as well! Overall great experience !

    Victoria2020-04-07T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at the wolf den and highly recommend staying here. The wolf decor and Mountain views made for a unique and memorable stay. It’s about 30 minutes to Asheville airport and the blue ridge parkway, 20 minutes to downtown Asheville and less than 10 minutes to local restaurants in Weaverville or Mars Hill. We look forward to returning!

    Tom2020-03-28T00:00:00Z
  • Less than 10 minutes to Mars Hill University, where I attend Organic Growers School every year. Beautiful Wolf decor and lovely views nestled on a hillside. Spacious rooms and a jacuzzi tub, made this a very enjoyable stay. Rebekah was always quick to respond to our messages, and we felt very welcome. I recommend The Wolf's Den.

    Theresa2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • The Wolf Den was perfect for our short trip. The place was clean and very spacious, check-in was super easy, and our pup loved running around the yard. I would definitely recommend!

  • Wow the Wolf’s Den was fabulous! Great easy access to all location. We especially loved the fire place and the bath tub! Our dog loved the fenced in side yard. It was perfect and exactly what we needed for a week long stay in Asheville. Tom and Rebekah were a huge help too when we first arrived. Totally recommend this cozy Wolf’s Den! P.s the decor is fabulous!!!

Located in a lovely rural neighborhood, 25 minutes from Asheville. Our permaculture/natural building school features bountiful gardens, forest trails, & amazing architecture. We are 12 minutes from some of the nicest National Forest in NC, (the Big Ivy section). Waterfalls, swimming holes, hiking, and back road access to the Blue Ridge Parkway (at Craggy Gardens). We have two listings on site, and this is the most basic and least expensive. Check out our Box Truck as well.
This space is simple and lovely. It is a 2-story, 10 x 10, open air, pagoda-style building. It has a very unique architectural design, with split-bamboo woven walls, and a huge pyramid sky-light. It has a full-size futon mattress with a mosquito net on the second story (the bugs and very minimal). The first story has a cherry desk, a counter space, room to do yoga, and a love-seat. There is no kitchen in this space, but there is a water urn dispenser and a single stove-top burner and coffee/tea press. There is a shared permitted outhouse and beautiful outdoor shower a very short walk from the lodging. You should bring a headlamp or flashlight for night. This building is off the grid, and it has basic solar lights and a cellphone charging station. This lodging is on our beautiful land that also hosts an outdoors sustainable living school. Come live it up in rustic charm with a permitted outhouse and outdoor shower, a short walk from this lodging. Several nice trails, outdoor spaces, and picnic tables on the land. We do have running water available in the common outdoor kitchen a short walk from the space. Sometimes there are classes going on there, but you are always welcome to come and get water, and use the sink. There is also a ceramic urn of water that we keep filled in your lodging. We provide guests with maps and wildflower guides for the area and can direct you to places to go hiking and swimming in the nearby national forest. We also know the Asheville restaurant scene very well and can suggest good places to eat, whether you are omnivore, vegetarian/vegan, gluten-free, local & organic, or higher-quality economy eats. This place is a sustainable living school and active homestead with lots of natural and green buildings, fruit trees, wildlife, permaculture & rich biological diversity. We teach classes from this land on natural building, sustainable farming, primitive living skills, holistic nutrition, wilderness awareness & more! Please do remember that the bathroom facilities are primitive, we have a permitted outhouse and an outdoor shower. Also, keep in mind that the space is open air, So if you are booking it in the late fall or early spring it can be pretty chilly. We provide lots of blankets to keep you toasty though.
We live in a neighborhood that is a collection of friends who bought adjacent properties and all live a similar close-to-nature lifestyle. The neighborhood is full of artists, healing arts practitioners, natural farmers & builders, musicians & creative, fun folks.
  • We loved the pagoda! Great space and the hosts were helpful and responsive. We stayed here when exploring Asheville for a weekend. Fun experience if you’re in the area.

    Tatum2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • The pagoda is such a unique little room that feels like a tree house. It's a great place for couples to stay and enjoy time together.

    Samantha 2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • This is a very beautiful, unique stay for sure! We enjoyed our time here in the woods. The Pagoda is absolutely gorgeous and one of a kind. Prior to booking, I definitely recommend checking out the Wild Abundance website to learn more about all the things and activities that go on at this property. They teach classes and have quite a cool thing going! If you are in search of a private, secluded stay in the woods you might look elsewhere though. There are campsites about 50 ft from the Pagoda and activity areas within earshot. Neither were a problem during our stay, but there were a lot more people around than we were expecting. All in all this is an amazing place to visit and Frank and Natalie seem wonderful. Be sure to follow their directions coming in and try to arrive before dark on your first night so you don’t miss a turn!

    Leslie2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you so much for the wonderful stay! We are so excited to visit again as soon as we can! Wild Abundance offers so much more than we even realized and gave us a wonderful space to retreat to.

    Cicely2019-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • Even better in person if that’s possible! If you are on the fence, BOOK IT! Peaceful, clean, unique, felt safe, and provided great protection from the rain while still being open air to enjoy the fall weather!! The directions to get there were easy to follow, even for someone who couldn’t find their way out of a paper bag like myself! ;) I will absolutely be back to this gem of a place!

    Samantha2019-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing weekend unplugging and getting immersed in nature!

    Reanna2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • I enjoyed my quick overnight stay at the Pagoda and on this pretty and unique property. The space was well equipped, bed, couch, counter, water, stove and outhouse - everything you need! The walk up was easy and the pagoda has nice finishes, too. It was night when I arrived, so I had a little trouble finding the outhouse, but enjoyed the little trek around the trails that have been established on the hillside - I really did just need to follow the correct signs! Wish I had more time to see what they do at Wild Abundance - it looks amazing. Thanks, Frank!

  • Jack and Debby were absolutely wonderful hosts! They greeted us warmly upon our arrival, showing us the amenities and our room, which were BEAUTIFUL! The room was gorgeous with lots of windows and cozy furniture and blankets. We had our own private bathroom with a lovely heater outside the bath/shower. They provided us with a keurig in the room, as well as fresh coffee in the kitchen in the morning. Jack and Debby were kind enough to provide us with a homemade breakfast of eggs, bacon, bagels, and coffee in the morning, which we got to enjoy with them in their dining room in the morning. They have two super friendly, adorable dogs, and they got along great with our dog! We got an extra treat when we got to meet their 5 week old puppies! So lucky timing there :) We had a wonderful stay, and I highly recommend them to anyone staying in the area! They truly make you feel welcome. Thanks, Jack and Debby!

  • We had a wonderful time in this great space. Debby was a very accommodating hostess and was a delight to be around. The house was beautiful and well maintained. It is far enough away to be a bit of a get away but still close enough to go into Asheville or the surrounding areas for the day.

    Daniel2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • My husband, our pup, and I LOVED Debby’s place! The house itself is beautiful and was decorated so nicely for Christmas. Debby went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. She even dog sat for us while we went to dinner and cooked us breakfast the next morning. We will definitely be coming back!

    Elizabeth2019-12-14T00:00:00Z
  • Jack and Debby are really thoughtful, interesting and fun people. The room was spacious and clean, which, if I'm saying it, it really is clean. Debby was the perfect hostess, even making us breakfast which was really yummy (eggs, sausage, a selection of toast with homemade jam, etc.). We even were there when her dog was having puppies! That was an extra treat. Thank you both so much.

We are a very quiet, private neighborhood where deer and wild turkey roam regularly. However, just minutes away is I-26 and you are literally 30 minutes away from attractions too numerous to mention (from Asheville to Johnson City and from Mount Mitchell to the Pisgah National Forest and everything in between!). The town of Mars Hill and the university are just minutes away! As you leave the subdivision, take a left (and watch your speed, our local police are serious about speeders ;-) and you will find yourself on North Main Street head south into town.
  • My husband and I stayed for the Organic Growers School weekend in Mars Hill. This location was PERFECT! A little over 5 min drive to campus, checkin was super easy, parking, right at house, no problem getting in or out, and very quiet. Extra nice touches of soft oil diffuser going, k-cups and teas, quality Arbonne products in bathroom and kitchen. It lightly snowed as we were arriving, so the view was lovely and the gas log fireplace heated us quickly and easily. We would love to stay again soon, and definitely next year for the next conference. Thank you so much!

  • Spacious and very clean. Perfect spot for family time with our Mars Hill student, including cooking a family favorite in the well equipped kitchen. Nice neighborhood very close to town and the University.

  • This was the first Airbnb I have ever stayed in and it went beyond my expectations. It was a beautiful space filled with personalized touches. It made me feel like I was in a home rather than a hotel which was much appreciated after a full day of hiking. Their back porch also had a stunning view of hills and mountains. I would highly recommend their space to anyone.

If you're looking for a quiet, secluded retreat in the beautiful mountains of WNC, this is the spot! Our cabin is rustic, retro, and romantic. It provides ample river/creek views, immediate access to hiking trails, and is located only 20 minutes from downtown Asheville, zip lining, rafting, skiing, and much more. Plus it's only a few minutes to the quaint downtown of Mars Hill. We happily welcome folks of all backgrounds and identities in our space. No added cleaning/platform maintenance fees!
This cabin offers one bedroom with a queen-sized bed, but can accommodate up to four adult guests with the pull-out sofa in the living room. The pull-out sofa has an exceptionally comfortable memory foam mattress. Linens, blankets, and pillows are provided. There is ample parking space for two vehicles. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, utensils, pots, pans, a coffeemaker, and a few basic items (ie. coffee, tea, salt, pepper, cooking oil). On the deck, there is a small charcoal grill and we can provide charcoal and lighter fluid upon request. There is also a fire pit a few yards away by the river that you are welcome to utilize. Added on 3/15/20: please note that extra care has been taken to disinfect all surfaces throughout the cabin and to thoroughly launder all linens. Come spend some time in nature away from crowds and take a walk by the river.
The cabin is situated on a country road at the confluence of a creek and a river. There are other residences in the area, but at a distance.

Are you looking for a place to work from home, or at a hospital nearby. Then you must come have a stay here at The Gingerbread Farmyard - Zoo Duplex! The apartment has its own separate entrance and porch, so social distancing is observed. We are right on the Yancey-Madison line and close to the towns of Burnsville, Mars Hill, Marshall, Weaverville, and Asheville. We are convenient to everything, yet just the right distance away from it all...
At The Gingerbread Duplex you can work online each day or go to work. We are only five minutes from highway 19. But it's the animals that make all the difference. Our four sheep love to be fed and pet, and Wilbur, our house broken pig, is always ready for a good belly rub! Just watching the different birds in the aviary is also very relaxing. The sound of the rushing Branch is more than wonderful (that's why we bought this property almost eighteen years ago!) Our home is a Duplex. The Gingerbread Cottage is one side of our home. It's a completely private one bedroom small apartment. There is a little kitchen, dining room, and living room, with a good size bathroom. The bedroom has a queen bed and there is a full size futon in the living room area. The kitchen has an apartment size stove and refrigerator. There is a covered porch where you can sit and hear the water as you watch the aviary. The sheep come up to the porch to be fed some bread. There is a little Egg for barbecuing also. In the Farmyard itself is a metal fire pit for night time fires and marshmallow roasting if desired. The Gingerbread Cottage is decorated with cherished antiques so that the whole place has the feel of days gone by - - inside and out. As appreciators of older, quieter times filled with a beauty so lacking in today's busy world, my husband and I have tried to bring a storybook feel to the Gingerbread FarmYard. In fact, my husband Saleh, who is an artist, built our home and all that is here. About our road : Miller Branch Road is a hard-packed gravel and dirt road with some gentle ups and downs. We are exactly a half mile from the paved road called Fox Creek. All makes of cars can do fine on the road, but low clearance cars must go extremely slowly. The road is not steep nor curvy--just hard packed and waffly in some spots. We look forward to meeting you one day! Jacki
Our location is central: We are 20 minutes from north Asheville, 12 minutes from Mars Hill, and 17 minutes from Burnsville. We are within 15 minutes of Wolfe Ridge Ski Resort.
  • This was a great find during a road trip through the Asheville area. Outside of the bustle, you will find a wonderful retreat with friendly hosts and curious animals. All in all, it was a lovely stay!

    J.T.2019-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • Jacki and Sal are amazingly hospitable. They are communicative but respectful of privacy. The property is a farm, forest wonderland, accompanied by beautiful farm animals, a magical creek and hand built European housing, uniquely decorated and clean. I highly recommend for anyone interested in an off the grid, enchanted forest retreat with modern luxury.

    Nick2019-11-15T00:00:00Z
  • Staying here was a wonderful delight. The amazing comfort provided by Jacki and her husband is superb. You have their great hearts surrounding you in all of the atmosphere inside the cabins and outside. With all their love shining around for their homestead and those precious pets. The place is complete with all you need and more. Just bring your clothes and you’re set. Leaving rest to enjoy the comfort of cooking in, or grilling or going out. Sit out on porch enjoying the fresh mountain air, while being entertained by those precious loving animals. Such tranquility of gentle care all around, as well as the comfort and security of feeling safe was very much appreciated. Excited to return for another amazing peaceful stay! Thank you so much!

    Sherry2019-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • Jacki and her husband were so welcoming and the property was absolutely enchanting. The location was fantastic as well, it felt like we were hours away from town even though Asheville was only an easy 20 minute drive away.

    Katie2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely magically wonderful~~*

    Brandy2019-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • Jacki and her husband are absolutely wonderful hosts. I have used Airbnb before and, while all my experiences have been great, this was by far the best. The house is clean and cozy. As soon as you walk into the property you can tell this is a majical place. 100% recommend. If you are looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of city live and stresses sit on the covered porch by the stream and watch all your worries sail away

    Cassandra2019-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place. Perfect to bring a small family to enjoy the animals. The sound of the water and looking at it from the covered porch was awesome.

    Tricia2019-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • If you want a place to be able to truly unwind and allow your stress to melt away, this sweet cottage is ideal. Jacki and Saul are absolutely the most genuinely sweet and sincere couple I’ve had the pleasure to get to know. The cottage has a wonderful ambiance that allows you to feel at peace. I opened the bedroom window at night and enjoyed the crisp mountain air along with the soothing sound of the gentle stream lulling me into a deep and restful sleep. Just amazing. You have everything you need right there in this little spot. I enjoyed feeding the sheep and watching the waterfowl play and frolic in the pond. For the quiet evenings, if you want to vegge in front of the tv, that’s fine too. The internet connection was strong and I had no issue downloading movies. If you choose to go to town, it’s just a few minutes to a major grocery store, a little shopping and restaurants. You’re allowed all the privacy you may want or need. But, if you’re a social butterfly like me; Jacki and Saul are pleased to talk to you and share stories. I absolutely LOVED it! I hope to be back in the not so distant future.

Come stay with us in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of western North Carolina! THe Wild Hare is a vintage camper parked on our 2-acre property, near the super-trendy town of Asheville, NC. The camper has all the glamping amenities you’ll need to escape a few days for a relaxing, private getaway! 🐇
The WILD HARE🐇is a vintage Aristocrat camper. It's 17 feet long, making it a great tiny home space. We have completely renovated and restored it with rustic wood walls, a copper penny table, modern light fixtures, and an ultimate, gel-plush double bed. Most likely, you and your guest will be dining at one of the many nearby fantastic, Asheville restaurants. The camper holds an electric kettle, ready for a cup of hot tea or coffee (stove is NOT AVAILABLE for use, sorry). The interior is styled with rustic-modern decor. ~ We've tried to make the camper a tiny home experience and have added solar panels. The WILD HARE runs almost completely on solar power. ~ The camper steps out onto a large, private deck, complete with comfy chairs, a shade umbrella, and a fire pit....we provide the wood for one fire. On a clear night, the view of the stars from the porch is sublime. ~ A few steps off the deck, is the Bath House. We've converted a small metal shipping container into a fun, outdoor, dreamy bathroom. It hosts all the amenties you would desire in a tiny home/glamping site. Inside are a propane-heated shower and antique sink. The shower is large enough to accomodate couples....conserves water, haha. There's a composting toilet too. This toilet is very simple to use---water pours into the bowl with each use and it's a push button flush. Nothing complicated for those that are novice to using free-standing toilets. There's plenty of ventilation and locks for privacy. The Bath House also has a barn-door which makes it customizable to your needs.~ There is a privacy fence surrounding the WILD HARE camper and the Bath House. Parking is located nearby.~ We have included a binder full of favorite, local activities (anything from the Biltmore Estate to zip-lining) and restaurants. Asheville, NC is also well-known for being voted as Beer City, USA, so we share info on the best local brewery tours, as well.~ Our property is located off a rural street. We have sweetly named the WILD HARE in honor of all the wildlife that frequently visit us. At any given time, we've seen a family of 7 deer, turtles, 12+ wild turkey, endless squirrels, birds, and of course, rabbit. So come enjoy the peace and tranquility that our little campsite offers.~ Note: The WILD HARE provides fresh bedding, towels, and some minimal kitchen needs (plates, cups, utensils, and cookware...for *to go* meals, remember, stove is not hooked up). You bring your weekend get-away bags and toiletries...maybe even your favorite beverage to enjoy!~
Our neighborhood is rural. There are several cows in local fields. Our property alone is packed full of visiting natural wildlife. We constantly get visits from wild turkeys, squirrels, birds, a deer family, and, of course, plenty of rabbit.

  • The pent is just as described! Seems some other reviewers aren’t familiar with compost toilets. I’m more on the “hippy” side, the pent was a welcome place to sleep after a long day of hiking. I left the front door open and made sure to close the screen curtain all the way around. I was perfectly safe and didn’t even get one mosquito bite. I recommend sleeping on top of the duvet. Memorable & peaceful night!

PRIVATE, COZY, REMOTE, QUIET & CLEAN. 15x15 stand alone cabin/tiny house. SPA like atmosphere. I allow 2 guests only. Completely remodeled. Year round incredible mountain views. It's all about location, and this is the best. A true bargain, unique in location, and clean. AC and Heat. 4 miles from the Appalachian Trail, and short drive to Wolf Laurel ski area. Asheville is 25 min/20miles to the south. Coffee & tea options. 5 miles from Starbucks & Ingles. BRING A (real) FLASHLIGHT, it’s dark!
Top of the mountain! The Cottage is located at an elevation 3750 ft, on 12 acres of private property overlooking the Blue Ridge Parkway and Mount Mitchell. It sits adjacent to the main house. Because of it's remote location, a stay at the cottage allows year round spectacular views from "the point" and the darkest of night sky. Meteors are easy to spot! Fully outfitted with everything your stay will need. AC and Heat! The cottage is not big, 15x15, it's very compact and cozy. Everything is within reach. Sleep on a cozy queen sleigh bed with memory foam, down duvet and lots of pillows. For those that like to explore, there is a short trail that leads to an upper meadow with good views and a spacious lawn to enjoy. Watch the stars and look for meteors by one of the two fire pits. Gas BBQ Grill. The front porch has a hammock chair, and the point (at the view in the yard) has hammocks, and swinging chairs you are encouraged to enjoy. Writers, artists, and those needing a quiet space will find their ideal peaceful getaway. Enjoy Yard Yahtzee, or Giant Jenga on the lawn. A stay at the cottage provides a very clean and private space. Amenities include cable TV, HBO, Microwave, small fridge, gas range and oven. Kitchen appliances include Keurig machine, drip coffee maker, toaster, blender, electric kettle, George Forman grill. Included in your rental is soap, shampoo, conditioner, bath towels, hair dryer, cooking and eating utensils, dishes, glasses, wine glasses, coffee cups, Keurig coffee, regular coffee, tea, sugar, knife block, cutting boards, pots, pans, frying pans, colander, mixing bowls, salt, pepper, dish soap, dish rags, drying towels, kitchen towels, paper towels, trash bags, access to a short trail up to the meadow, fire pit, lighter, beautiful views, and friendly faces. It is by far the least expensive place to stay with the most to offer and it's easy to see why the cottage stays booked all year. WiFi: the WiFi is average on a good day. It is unreliable, does not always work fast, sometimes gets stuck and has to be restarted. I am thankful for the service I have, and can’t get anything better. Most guests are here to get away from their everyday life. I would like to emphasize that the cottage is clean. Not only does it have great views, and offers lots of privacy, I go to great effort to keep it clean, and no detail is overlooked. Every new guest gets a fresh duvet as well as fresh linens, kitchen towels, bath towels, bath mat, wash cloth, hand towels, even one for the floor if it's raining, or you head to the hot tubs in Hot Springs. The cottage gets a total wipe down. Dollar for dollar this is the nicest space you can find on Airbnb for the price, and I work hard to make it perfect for your stay. It’s the new year and we have a new tradition. Come add to our magnet door! If you want, bring a magnet! It can be anything. From your state, landmark, hometown, funny, raunchy, or even just that ugly magnet you don’t like.
My neighbors are birds, bobcats, deer, bear, and other woodland creatures. There are no neighbors you can see, and my driveway is a private road.
  • I came to the cottage on a solo trip that was very personal to do some soul searching and to find peace. I wanted a property that I didn’t have to leave where I could wander and explore, but feel safe at the same time since I was alone, and this was everything I needed and more. The trails were great and the overlook with breath taking views at the top of the mountain was the perfect place to reflect. This place - the cottage and the land that surrounds it - is something truly special. It is so serene! Then, in the cottage itself with all its thoughtful touches, I was never without anything I needed. And the hostess is so sweet and accommodating! Always just a text or phone call away if ever needed. I can’t wait to come back! ^_^

    Ally2020-03-29T00:00:00Z
  • Gentry has created a lovely and welcoming space where you are sure to find peace. This sweet cottage has everything you need for a comfortable getaway. It’s secluded, yet only a short drive from all types of activities and Gentry does a nice job of providing info about things to experience and do in the area.

    Ruffin2020-03-21T00:00:00Z
  • Our second visit - just as sparkling clean and in as great of a location as ever! Gentry was out of town for our visit but very thoughtfully took care of everything we could even think to need before our arrival.

    Selby2020-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • An absolute steal for the price. Nothing missing, nothing out of place, everything in this adorable little cottage is perfect. Gentry was easy to converse with, quick to respond and helpful. Her directions are clear and easy to follow as the cottage sits a little off the beaten path. However, it’s close enough to Asheville and surrounded by beauty. It’s the perfect escape to relax with your significant other.

    Ty2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Our trip was extra special Gentry was an absolutely delightful host. She even helped us turn off lights that we had left on in our car in the middle of the night to make sure we had battery in the morning. Would recommend anyone!

    Sam2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Everything about the cottage was amazing!! Gentry has thought of every detail and was so helpful. Even better than we were expecting...pictures don’t do it justice! Will definitely be back and recommend to anyone looking for a mountain weekend getaway!

    Taylor2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first Airbnb and I was going by myself as well and so was little nervous. But thankfully it was really one of the best trips I’ve ever taken because of this place. Gentry reached out before to answer any questions I had and put me at ease about everything. I was nervous about the ride up since my car doesn’t have 4 wheel drive and she assured me I would be fine and I was! The drive seems worse than it actually and she is so willing to help. The place was so perfect and stunning. It started snowing which just added to the beauty of the place. It’s small but has everything you need for a perfect getaway. Gentry was out of town but kept checking in to make sure everything was ok which I very much appreciated. I had a million questions and she would respond right away. Was really difficult to leave this place and highly recommend!

    Karen2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Sweet, safe, clean and cozy getaway for the weekend! My only complaint is that I wish I would have booked for longer! I will definitely be back to Gentry’s place next time I’m visiting Asheville.

There are drapes you can pull across the open fronts of the lofts for more visual privacy and coziness if you like, but no doors or total sound privacy in the sleeping areas. There are two operable windows in each loft that can be used for air circulation on warm days. The ceiling in the middle of the main area slopes from 11 to 14 feet in height so the space feels way more airy and spacious than the measurements would imply! Lofts are carpeted and should only be accessed with bare or socked feet while the main area is entirely tiled, but we still ask you to remove your shoes at the front door to avoid bringing any mud, dirt or gravel inside. The main deck is 8' deep by 24' long so enlarges your available hang-out space by almost 50% in comparison to the house. We hope you will take advantage of our beautiful lush surroundings and enjoy some outdoor time there!

  • If you're looking for a quiet and relaxing spot, definitely book the Birdhouse! It was very stylish, and very spacious. We had zero problems while there, it was easier to find the house than we thought it would be. The hosts were very kind, and we will definitely be rebooking with them!

  • Ron's place feels brand new and is tucked away on a mountain road in the woods. Plenty of windows fill the space with natural light. They really went above and beyond with this house. The weather was perfect so we spent most of the time on the spacious porch. You are surrounded by trees when you're out there but still get a lot of sun during the day. He was also quick to get back to me with any questions. I can't say much for any surrounding areas since we just stayed there the whole time, but if you're looking for a mountain retreat, this is perfect.

  • Lovely place in the woods. Clean, modern, comfy and environmentally friendly. Quick response. Love it!

  • So lovely! Nice to be in the trees and in peace and quiet. Modern and clean. Lovely people and helpful too.

  • My husband and I loved staying at the Bird’s Nest! It was the perfect spot just outside of town, but close enough where it was easy to get to downtown and go Mars Hill where we were attending a conference. The house was stylishly designed and had all the amenities we needed. The porch has a great view and we loved sitting out there in the evening. We would highly recommend this as a quiet mountain get away!

  • Great experience all around. Easy check-in/out. A very clean and enjoyable house about the perfect distance from town.

  • Lovely home with beautiful windows and thoughtful design/layout. Would definitely stay here again!

    Jenna2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • This tiny house was super cute and functional! It has everything you'd need while staying there and is really quiet and peaceful since it's out in the woods. It's ~20-30 min drive from Asheville. I'd definitely recommend staying here if you're looking for a more intimate place that's away from the city.

  • Me and my husband decided to get out of Hickory for the weekend with our 4 teens and I think this was the best spot for them. They love that they still felt at home even though we were not. Place is super cute inside and the lighting of the inside was awsome. We enjoyed sitting on the hammock chairs lovely breeze. Scott welcomed us when we arrived asked if there was anything we needed just to ask. The 2 nights we were there we basically had all we needed and didnt have to ask for anything. I would definitly stay there again.

  • We had a terrific stay here. The place is comfortable and clean with the necessary conveniences. It’s not far from Asheville or other local spots for hiking, site seeing, etc. Great place for kids (toys, video games, Netflix) Highly recommended!

  • Expect a sweet, cozy spot on the outskirts of Asheville! The space is exactly as the pictures show. Easy to get in and get out. Loved the decorations and treats left for me and my guests. Would recommend to anyone looking for a quiet and cozy getaway :)

  • Scott’s house looks exactly like the pictures: homey vibe and very clean (it actually is roomier than the photos). It has a fridge, a microwave and a keurig, which helps a lot! He was also very responsive! Even though the roads needed more lighting on the way there, he gave clear instructions on how to get to their place. We were traveling from Baltimore and this was our first night of the 5 day trip and it was worth it! Thank you Scott!

Magical Yurt in a magical cove! Next to a musical stream and surrounded by hundreds of acres of wild and beautiful forest, this newly built Yurt is perfect for a couple or individual looking for a meditative and relaxing environment that's not too far from Asheville. The space is very clean and comfortable and is located at the end of the road in one of the most beautiful coves in the region and biodiverse places on earth. People of all colors and backgrounds are warmly welcomed here
*Please keep in mind* - The kitchen is super basic and even though it's covered by a roof, it's exposed to the elements, so will never be a fully spick and span sort of space. Currently, you will not be able to cook anything too fancy. Currently, the is no refrigerator. There is a cooler available, but you will need to provide ice. ** The last bit of road getting to my property can be pretty rough if you're not used to mountain roads. I drive up and down it nearly every day with my Prius, but people do sometimes complain about it :) - The bathroom is in a separate structure so you will have to walk 10 or so feet outside on the deck to get to it. An umbrella is kept in the yurt in case it's raining. -
  • Lovely, cozy space! I really enjoyed listening to the sound of the creek flowing behind the yurt while falling asleep. Surrounded by a magical forest. Alex & his daughter are the sweetest ever. Highly recommend. <3

  • This space is the perfect getaway, not far away from the Asheville action!

    Jeb2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Such a cool spot! Felt super comfortable and at peace for a little vacation in the magical yurt. Alexander was quick to respond when out power went out and made sure we were still doing okay once it got real cold outside. Enjoyed the unique space and beautiful decor so much!

    Lauren2019-12-18T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome place to stay... we will be back....

    Josh2019-11-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had a nice relaxing time in the yurt. Definitely lived up to its potential. It was very relaxing and also Alexander made it that much more inviting and was very down to earth. I would definitely stay again.

    Rachel2019-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at Alexander's Yurt in November and the views around are gorgeous. Mornings were beautiful and you could hear the creek in the background. During this season, it does get chilly even with the heater so be sure bring lots of warm clothes. The drive up to the Yurt is also probably best traveled with a higher power car although I was able to make it up in my 2-wheel drive Sedan. Alexander was a great host; he was so welcoming and accommodating. He offers some of his music and meditation classes as well. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here and would love to come back!

    Lauren2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • We were so sad we didn’t get to stay longer! We got in way later than anticipated and as soon as we saw the inside of the yurt we wished we had booked a longer stay. The area was beautiful as well, as an added bonus. We are going to try to make it to the area again and will definitely book the yurt!

    Eli2019-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • What a delightful place to stay. The yurt was so calming and comfortable. It rained most of the time we stayed but we were snug and dry the whole time. Being off the beaten path it was really quiet but we loved it. Hearing the rain on the roof and the sounds of the wind chime outside our window set the perfect soundtrack for a restful weekend away. I would love to go back and stay again.

Waterfalls, swimming holes, hiking, and back road access to the Blue Ridge Parkway (at Craggy Gardens).
This lodging is on our beautiful land that also hosts an outdoors sustainable living school. The location of this dwelling on our land is tucked away and parking just 25 feet away. The tiny house has a posh interior and features cherry counter-tops, fine finishing woodwork, custom-made cabinets, natural earthen paint, kitchenette, mini-fridge, sink with hot & cold water, full-size pillow-top mattress, and a nice deck space for yoga or relaxing outside. Come live it up in rustic charm with a shared permitted outhouse and outdoor shower, a short walk from this lodging. Several nice trails, outdoor spaces, picnic tables on the land. The facilities are rustic. There is an outhouse a very short walk from the lodging. The outdoor shower is down the hill. If you have a never taken an outdoor shower experience is quite lovely! This place is a sustainable living paradise with lots of natural and green buildings, fruit trees, wildlife, permaculture & rich biological diversity. We teach classes from this land on natural building, sustainable farming, primitive living skills, holistic nutrition, wilderness awareness & more! We also know the Asheville restaurant scene very well and can suggest good places to eat, whether you are omnivore, vegetarian/vegan, gluten-free, local & organic, or higher-quality economy eats.
We live in a neighborhood that is a collection of friends who bought adjacent properties and all live a similar close-to-nature lifestyle. The neighborhood is full of artists, healing arts practitioners, natural farmers & builders, musicians & creative, fun folks.
  • The box truck was absolutely perfect for our stay to take the hide tanning class. I was a bit worried that we would be cold, since the night time temps dipped into the 20’s but we were more than cozy and kept warm. Having the stove top made it super convenient for breakfasts and dinners, much more spacious than you can imagine! Such a perfectly convenient location. I definitely recommend staying here and further recommend taking some of the classes offered at Wild Abundance!

    Rosalie2019-11-11T00:00:00Z

  • Wild Abundance is doing a very special thing in there community. This tiny home was perfect in every way! Frank was so helpful, and offered more than enough kindness and help. The directions sent we're perfect and brought us right to the location. The serenity surrounding the property is unmatched, and adds to the over all experience. Well definitely back!

    Angel2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • The space was great! I was here for a class and it was awesome to have such an accommodating space so close. Loved the porch and that it had a stove and running water for coffee in the morning. I recommend the space and the classes! Thanks Frank!

    Heather2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • The Box Truck is an absolute dream. Our drive in was a little intimidating, but we had no problems following their directions and getting to the box truck. Frank & Natalie were extremely helpful and quick to respond. The Wild Abundance land is beautiful and peaceful. We could only stay one night, but we wanted to stay many more. The amenities in the box truck were perfect to make a nice yellow curry dinner and cozy in for a wonderful night’s sleep. Until next time!

Out here in the wild you're safe! This exotic, spacious dome looks out on one of the best mountain views in the world. It’s so quiet, wild, and peaceful here. The mountain view is breathtaking. You won’t believe you’re only 20 minutes from Asheville. The dome is rustic and primitive. The deluxe outhouse is a few steps away. There's an outdoor shower on the deck, a comfy queen sized bed, and a kitchenette with a mini-fridge and hot plate. The energy of a geodesic dome must be experienced.
There is nothing like a geodesic dome. You can feel the energy healing you when you are inside. And there is an incredible view. You hear the wildlife all around you. It's like camping, but more comfortable. It's quite private. It feels remote, but note that there are other guests on the land. I've stopped taking campers, so it's much more private now -- only one more rental, far away. There is only one queen sized bed. There is space for an extra mattress if you have extra guests, but you must bring the extra mat. PLEASE ONLY STAY HERE if you are seeking a rustic space in beautiful nature. It will probably not work for you if you are looking to drink a lot in town and crash here, as Uber does not come out here. It is an adventure. ELECTRIC HEATERS ARE NOT POSSIBLE; only wood heat can work here, so if the weather may be cold, you will need to be good with the wood stove. Please, you are responsible for reading the house manual. Some cell phones do not get good signal in the dome. So it is very rustic: lots of dirt and dust gets in; an outhouse, outdoor cold shower, and bugs. Be warned :) THE PATH LIGHTS DON'T ALWAYS WORK SO UNLESS YOU'VE BEEN HERE BEFORE, I recommend coming before dark. It's not easy to find. Follow the path lights! If you have a bright flashlight I'm sure you'll be fine. The land is clothing-optional, though so far people don't know that and haven't taken advantage of it!
This is a neighborhood full of my friends who all bought land near each other, and who are organic farmers, natural builders, homesteaders, and primitive skills experts. It is incredibly beautiful here.

Glamping at it's best. Experience a unique stay while resting peacefully in a renovated stall in an old 1940's tobacco barn. Wake up to a great cup of coffee and and the peaceful views of our family farm. We are located approximately 25 minutes to downtown Asheville, NC and less than a 10 minute drive to the Appalachian Trail.
Your private room comes furnished with a double bed, bedding (extra blankets), electricity, fan, heater, books, card games, and the surroundings of the beautiful outdoors. A refrigerator, bottled water, coffee pot, and amazing locally roasted coffee from Dynamite Roasting Company are also located in the barn for your convenience and enjoyment. Bathroom facilities are currently an outdoor portable toilet (kept clean and tidy). Showering arrangements can be made for extended stays.
We live in a rural area of Western North Carolina. We however still have easy access to local grocery store, gas station, and restaurants. We are approximately 3 miles from downtown Mars Hill, North Carolina.
  • My daughter and I had a fantastic time! The communication with our hosts was super easy and quick and the place looks just like it does on the pictures — although I'd say it's even better in person. What a fun adventure to spend the night in a barn! The GPS didn't quite take me all the way to the dirt road to access the barn, but Haley gave me clear directions and made it so easy for me to find the farm.

    Meg2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Our one-night stay was memorable and entirely positive. Haley and Jeremy are excellent hosts. They made us feel right at home. We enjoyed our unplugged, un-rushed, rustic stay at Quiver Full Farm.

    John2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • Unique stay for a great price. Fun to experience a local’s touch right on the outskirts of asheville. Coffee and fresh biscuits in the morning was a nice surprise before we explored less crowded hidden gem hikes based of their recommendations!

    Lexie2019-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • A truly unique experience! Haley and Jeremy have obviously worked hard to make everything just right at their farm. The cats were a constant source of entertainment. Loved it all!

    Mike2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • Quiver Full Farm was a truly memorable experience - authentic, farmhouse style, full of warmth and wonder of eras past. The only thing better than the barn, animals and Fall colors were the hosts themselves. We stayed in the lower barn in a stall that was thoughtfully converted to a bedroom. The room and barn were filled with authentic Americana artifacts and antiques. It even had a small general store where we could get water and snacks rather than drive anywhere. I forgot to sign the wall which was a tradition for guests so don't you forget. ; ) The bedroom has a desk, loveseat, and a cute heater stove which kept the room warm at night. I also found out that the property can host weddings and I can see why. It's very well laid out and the hosts have gone over and above on cleanliness and hospitality. Jeremy and Haley's daughter - such a gem, made us banana bread in the morning and Jeremy gave us a tour of the farm and his metalworking experience which he also lists on Airbnb. We loved it and bought a charcuterie/herb cutting board and knife which was made right there on the farm in Jeremy's antique forge and shop. I can't recommend the experience highly enough and if I could give it a sixth star I would.

    Adam2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • loved this place! a very comfortable and cool space, and excellent hospitality!

    Brill2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Haley and Jeremy’s was amazing! The barn was so cute, everything was very clean, hospitality was incredible, and the animals were all so sweet. We will not forget our stay here and would love to come back. Highly recommend staying here!

Extremely clean, completely private, spacious studio located in charming, downtown Weaverville, a small, walkable community just 10 miles north of Asheville, NC. The cottage is a short walk to charming shops, galleries, breweries, coffee shops, and restaurants. It has a kitchenette, a cozy sitting area, and a comfy queen bed. It is comfortable, quiet, and private yet just a few blocks to I26. The Blue Ridge Parkway and amazing hiking are also nearby. Sorry, we don't allow pets.
This fun, new cottage is designed for travelers to Weaverville and the Asheville area. It is on our property but in a completely separate building with it's own parking and entrance. It's very private, set back from the street yet very conveniently located to the downtown Weaverville shops and to an I26 exit. It is perfect for two people.
The Little Cottage is located in a small, quiet, residential neighborhood just 2 walkable blocks from the nearest coffee shop and grocery store. It is located less than a mile to I26 exit 19. Downtown Asheville is a 10 mile drive to the south.

  • This is a charming and comfy cottage for two in a quiet and easily accessible location. Being able to walk to restaurants is a big plus. We would stay here again. The hosts are great communicators; I really appreciated the detailed check-in email.

  • Jim and Jackie's cottage was a great place to stay if you are looking for a comfortable place for 2! My fiance and I stayed at the cottage while looking for wedding venues in the mountains. Thanks Jim and Jackie!

  • Beautiful, clean and super cozy little spot. Has absolutely everything you need and is only 10 minutes away from downtown Asheville. Huge bonus being greeted by chickens and having a record player with The Beatles on vinyl! Would definitely stay here again.

  • Super cute cottage with all the amenities just moments away from downtown Weaverville. Jackie and Jim are awesome hosts and I am a regular guest when I’m in Weaverville. Be sure to check out the vinyl and CD collection, too.
