  • This cabin is absolutely gorgeous, the pictures don't do it justice. My husband and I stayed here for our one year wedding anniversary. We loved it and can't wait to go back again! Susan & Randy were very responsive and helpful with any questions I had. Don't pass up an opportunity to visit Peaceful Acres because that is exactly what it is peaceful!!

  • Property was jusy as described. They had pretty much everything we needed. Overall great hosts

    Dominic2017-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • Randy and Susan's cabin is the perfect get-a-way. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there. My gf loved all of the decorations (that my caveman-head didn't notice). The pictures don't do justice to how "fun" the cabin is. I would definitely go again.

  • This cabin was exactly what my husband and I were looking for in a quiet relaxing getaway for my birthday. The cabin is adorable and so comfy and perfectly outfitted for everything you'll need for a long weekend or brief stay. Susan's recommendations for places to eat and activities were spot on with the goals of our trip. Agree with others that the bed is too soft and pretty uncomfortable. But overall a wonderful trip and we will definitely consider returning again.

    Kelly2016-12-04T00:00:00Z
  • Very peaceful; we heard birds singing even once it got dark. We absolutely loved the layout and the homey feel. There were lots of neat touches and it had a lot of personality. If you're like us, you'll love the wooden interiors. You'll also love the bathroom and the kitchen is great if you plan on doing your own cooking. Our stay at peaceful acres was definitely worth it for us.

    Jacob Lana2017-03-27T00:00:00Z
  • I had a wonderful time here. The house has everything you need--there's a fully stocked kitchen, extra toiletries, etc. I even found bug spray, which came in handy when I decided to go hiking. The location is wonderful--thanks to all the trees, it feels very private. I even saw a family of deer while I was eating breakfast one morning! Randy and Susan were extremely accommodating. There was a brief problem with the wifi, but they fixed it immediately. I would recommend this place to anyone.

    Alison2017-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • Randy & Susan are extremely nice and their property is very beautiful and private. The cabin is clean and greatly surpassed our expectations. Would greatly recommend.

    Ian2017-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay. We found the cabin relaxing and beautiful. There were so many little things there like condiments and extra things that made our stay easy and pleasurable. We are already talking of booking the cabin for next year.

  • Steps are very steep to bedroom. Only for able bodied. Very clean and charming decor. No TV or internet but beautiful view out window. Peaceful and quiet.

  • Amazing little cottage getaway!!! My boyfriend and I stayed here for a three day long weekend and it was even better than we expected! The cottage is super cute (and very Instagram worthy) and the perfect size, very clean and the hosts are the best! Carol left us some pastries and OJ for the morning which was super sweet, and there was coffee as well. The cottage is located right across from the lake which made it perfect for a kayak launch or some fishing. Perfectly secluded and private yet close enough to a few restaurants and shops. Harrisburg and Carlisle were only 30 min away which have more nightlife. Cable was so much fun to talk to and gave us some great pointers around the area and we really loved his company! We definitely will be back soon!

    Tamara2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was a great and secluded space to stay for an evening. I was in town for business and did not want to stay in a hotel, so I was relieved and thrilled to stay in Carol's lovely cottage.

    Jimmy2017-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • The place is awesome, phantastic. The house is set up with so much love to every detail. Nestled in this very beautyful, quiet and peaceful landscape with that scenic view to the river and woods you feel like in paradise (at least WE did). No noise beside natures tones. Carol and Cable are so nice and caring hosts who made us feel at home within minutes. We definitly shall come back as soon as possible. And hopefully for a longer stay. It's the perfect hideaway for cooling down and relaxing. And even not far from interstate. We think we never could recommand something for a stay as much as this lovely cottage.

    Frank-Torsten2017-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Very charming place. Be extra careful on the steps.

    Peggy2017-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Enchanted little nest in rural Pennsylvania, easy to find and ideal for a long weekend far from the madding crowd. The house has been renovated with a lot of taste and elegance, and is a respite for the mind. Kitchen is equipped with electric appliances and, with a bit of planning, more than enough to cook for two.

    Guillaume2017-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • I highly recommend staying at the cottage. The secluded setting is amazing and the interior is cozy and inviting. If we get the opportunity, we will definitely be back!

Quiet country home in the mountains but 5 miles to highway. 30 miles to Harrisburg. 60 miles to Penn State. Close to river if you like fishing or kayaking. Mountain trails if you like hiking or biking. Private entrance. Basement unit has its own entrance, with kitchen, shower, bar, deck, living room and full size bed, 2 sofas.
Our basement has been converted to a 956 sq foot apartment. It has private entrance. A bedroom, kitchen with sink, apartment size refrigerator, microwave, hot plate, bar, laundry room with sink and shower. The toilet is upstairs and it is a shared toilet with the owners and other guest
There's very little traffic but a lot of horse and buggies. Through the week we work 12 hour days so we are not here during the day. The area is known for it's beautiful mountain trails, It's notorious for it's hunting, fishing, and trains. Many people come into the area for train watching. There's a small town 5 miles away, but if you are looking for night out on the town you will have to travel 15-20 minutes to the nearest "watering hole"
  • Tammy and Mark were incredibly gracious and thoughtful hosts. The room was as described. They left us some nice goodies to choose from and even offered for us to join them for breakfast. You couldn't ask for more from such nice hosts!

A cozy two bedroom house in a beautiful country setting on 4 acres. Lots of trees and a big lawn. Located in Thompsontown, PA only two miles from 322. There is a pond with fish and a small one-room cabin by the pond for relaxing. There are fish pellets in the cabin and you can feed the fish! An ideal place to relax in a quiet setting. We travel frequently and want to make our home available for others to enjoy!
A nice big master bedroom with a new pillow top mattress! A guest bedroom with a queen size bed. A cozy living room, kitchen and dining room. You can park your car in the garage if you like.
We have a nice quiet neighborhood and very little traffic.
  • Dan & Phillis’ place was such a cute country home with PLENTY of space for my husband and I. A great kitchen and lots of windows with nice views of the country/ small pond and windmill. We stayed at their home for a Penn State game which I will say was a little more than an hour away from their home, but that just made our trip home even quicker!

    Alexa2017-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I stayed at Dan & Phyllis' lovely home as a closer option to State College for a Penn State football weekend. We couldn't have been more pleased with that decision. Their adorable house was clean and cozy and we loved the beautiful scenery of the area. Having grown up closer to big cities, I don't think I've ever seen a clearer, more beautiful night sky than when we stayed in Thompsontown.

  • This is a beautiful home. It is very hidden which may be a negative for some but that was a big plus for us. Kiley provides very thorough instructions on how to find the home. We we're able to find it quickly even though we arrived at night. It is very dog and family friendly. We stayed with our 2 daughters and our dog and they loved the freedom of the large surrounding yards. The trail behind the house is also fun to walk through. Even though the house is secluded, it is only a few minutes away from major stores. We will definitely be coming back for our next trip!!

    Amy2017-04-14T00:00:00Z
  • Kiley's house was a Great home to stay in with my family even if it was for a short stay. It is very quite there and we loved it. Her home is beautiful and clean. My family and I cannot wait to plan another trip.

  • This property was just wonderful! Perfect for any season retreat! The pictures don't do it justice. Very spacious. Kiley was wonderful with all my questions. We will be returning! Thank you so much.

  • Our family went to the Lifeway Church Christian convention and this house was such a blessing. Very quiet and cozy house with beautiful scenery. Kiley was very informative and responsive. So happy that we chose to stay here instead of a hotel! Thank you again for such an enjoyable stay ❤️

    Alyssa2017-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay here! The home was clean, comfortable and private. Kiley was great about being in contact and offered help whenever needed! I would recommend this home.

  • Great house; perfect if you are looking for privacy since it is off the beaten path. Would stay there again. Smooth check / check out. Easy to get to via Uber.

    Michael2017-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed here overnight with a group and it was great, secluded and in the woods, very country! The house was very clean, We had a nice fire pit at night.

    Dannon2017-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • This place was perfect for a quiet getaway. We went for my boyfriend's birthday in November and the leaves were beautiful. We didn't want to hike in the state gamelands because it was hunting season, so we drove to Wildwood Park in Harrisburg and spent the day hiking there. The house was extremely clean and the kitchen is very up-to-date (we did a lot of cooking). Kiley and Jon made sure we had detailed instructions for checkin/out and directions for getting to the property. One note is that it's back a one lane, gravel road in the woods, so an SUV is probably preferred to get to it in the winter, but a car will get you there OK in the other seasons.

  • We are so in love with the Amethyst Retreat Center, and are already planning a trip to come in warmer weather. The place is light-filled, with so much character. The rooms are lovely and offered comfort to enjoy quiet for time reading, meaningful conversations, and reflecting. We were kept warm from the cold and whipping winds, and yet the views of the surrounding fields and forest tempted us to explore out into the cold. Our reward was a lovely walk along the forest's edge, and yet were grateful to be back in the warmth of this cozy, and yet spacious house. Thank you for welcoming us to your retreat, and for the generous breakfast provisions. We had everything we needed to cook the meals we planned, and never needed (or wanted) to leave the retreat for anything.

    Laurie2017-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • We felt cwey welcome in the retreat center. Quiet, but also for a somewhat larger group of people (8 adults plus two kids) this spot was very suitable. As a courtesy, additional food is stocked in the kitchen. We felt very welcome here!

  • Marykaye's listing is perfectly accurate. The home was quaint and lovely. I arrived late at night and left early the following morning, but the property seemed really great! Marykaye's directions were clear and helpful. She left a note for us with some final details and a few snacks in case we were super hungry. Great spot!

    Ryan2016-04-07T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing. We loved it. The house was just perfect, everything we needed was there. We were looking for a quiet place in the nature to rest for a couple of days. What we found was above our expectations. A pity we only had time to stay two nights, we would have stayed longer. MaryKaye and Marlin were great hosts and took well care of us.

    Eino2017-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • My fiancèe and I had a wonderful time with our dog. From hiking to sitting by the fire and drinking tea, it could not have been more relaxing. I'm glad that we trusted our intuition and stayed at the Amethyst Retreat Center. There were no reviews when we booked our stay but it was fantastic. Despite being new to AirBnB, they are quite accustomed to having guests. Amethyst is a group of people who dedicate their time to making it a special place. From people who take care of the land to others who make the house cozy, they have every angle covered. They offered fresh fruit and snacks as well as plenty of free coffee and tea. When we arrived, Liz let us in and told us about all of the improvements they are making. It's clear that they will continue to make the property special. Karen in particular was wonderful to work with. She sent a very detailed message that helped us understand that we were walking into a hospitable environment. I recommend taking them up on the healing they mention in the bio as well. My only cautionary words are that the mattress is full sized and not queen. It was fine for us since we are on the smaller side but I could see it being a problem for a larger couple. They did speak about getting new beds so you would have to ask them about that. I can definitely see us coming back. I would really love to see it in the summertime when everything is alive. Thank you for the wonderful stay.

    David2016-03-25T00:00:00Z
  • Your home was an excellent place for us to stay. We plan on returning in the fall at the latest. Your home was open, inviting and thoughtful.

    Jessica2016-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • A gem in a gem! Lovely town of Millersburg with a gorgeous riverfront - looks like a well-kept secret, and so is this convenient place to stay. Charm of an old country house from the outside, including a front porch swing, while newly decorated with classy accommodations on the inside; very comfortable. Would love to come back!

  • This was my second stay at Debrah's place. Everything was perfect.

    Ilonka2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Debrah's place is very sweet. Super clean and cozy. She thought of every detail to make one's stay just perfect.

    Christine 2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful little place, very clean, and I was accommodated very last minute for an overnight stay that broke up a long drive for me. I was able to relax on the front porch as I watched the sunset over the river view. Texts were responded to quickly, and I would return if I were in the area again.

    Andrew2016-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • It’s a super clean and comfy room with a kitchenette and washer and dryer as well as amazingly comfortable mattresses. We loved waking up and strolling a few shops down for coffee then walking along the river. We are so happy to have found this place to stay when we visit family in the area. Loved it!

    Holly2017-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • This place was great! Set in a quaint little Pennsylvania town and within walking distance to everything you could need for a stay. This was a last minute reservation and thankfully Debrah was quick to confirm the reservation and send me all the information I needed to access the suite. The suite space was modern, clean, and beautifully decorated. While I had concerns about the daybed, it was actually very comfortable with nice bedding and pillows. The parking wasn't an issue either and it was free on Saturday night with plenty of spaces. Overall, this place exceeded expectations and I highly recommend staying at this great little gem!

    Kathleen2016-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • Debrah's suite can be described as nothing less than perfect. Before arriving, Debrah kept in contact through text, allowing for a flexible arrival time. Upon arriving, I was astounded by the charming allure of the carpeted front porch, complete with swing. After entering the suite itself, I was quite impressed at the amount of work that clearly went into renovations. The suite was immaculately clean, for starters. Complete with a full kitchen, TV, AC, two beds, and washer and dryer, this is absolutely a place that one could stay for a week or two at a time. The little details were not missed either. Ranging from decorations on the walls, to a personal coffee maker, to change left above the sink for meter parking, to already-stamped postcards to send home, Debrah has clearly put in a huge amount of effort to making sure that this suite is both cozy and convenient. If you ever happen to be in the area and want a luxurious and cozy place away from home, I could not recommend this place enough.

The home has plenty of space, extremely comfortable beds, and everything we needed in the kitchen to cook a Thanksgiving meal. When we had a question about the door lock, they immediately answered and responded to our call. Thank you so much, Stephen, and we'll hopefully return on our next visit.

  • Jackie and Keith are one of the kindest people I've come across. Our stay was beyond perfect. Their home is beautiful and exremely well kept. We enjoyed every bit of it. They were always approachable and helpful. We had a great time, and we look forward to meeting them again.

  • Fantastic place to stay!!! We highly highly recommend staying with Jackie and Keith if your travels take you to Carlisle Pennsylvania. We were greeted with warm cookies upon check in and coffee in the morning with fruit and muffins. The fresh milk and bottled water in the small fridge found in the suite were greatly appreciated. The bedroom and den were so beautifully appointed as the first floor of their home looks like something out of an elegant French provincial magazine. Incredibly elegant with beautiful fabrics, lighting, wallpaper and linens. The bathroom was clean and updated. Fantastic high-end shampoos and Turkish bathrobe. We were so pleased with our accommodations and wish we had been able to spend more than 20 seconds with Jackie as we were late for the ballet. Thank you Jackie for the wonderful dinner reservations. Great location and privacy offered. We will stay again.

  • Beautiful suite, stunningly and spotlessly appointed, clean, comfortable and visually pleasing. Looks like a model home. The mini fridge was a big plus and bed is comfy (pillows a bit hard). Jackie is communicative, thoughtful and a fabulous host. I had plenty of privacy, though there is not a separate entrance. No access to outdoor patio, fyi. This apartment is in a cute, historical section of town, in an ideal location for visiting Carlisle and Dickinson college. Parking is a bit tricky--had to keep moving my car and even so I got two tickets. Still, I would recommend without hesitation.

  • Jackie was such a great host - she welcomed us into her home, gave us a tour, had everything written down, including things to do and eat in the area. She made our stay extremely comfortable. Her amenities are great - from the heated floors in the bathroom, to the cozy tv room, tea/coffee selection, baked goods for breakfast, and everything was personalized - so so sweet. Thank you Jackie for your attention to detail, and for welcoming us into your beautiful home in such a lovely neighborhood. We loved chatting with you and hope our paths cross again.

  • Where to start? Jackie and Keith are absolutely wonderful people and wonderful hosts who, when I was running behind schedule, were about as flexible and kind as you'd ever hope for. They provided a delicious breakfast of muffins, banana, and coffee every day during my stay too -- didn't even need to go out! The suite itself is stunning -- richly designed while still being warm and homey. It's hard to overstate just how nice the space is. The bathroom is one of the nicest I've ever been in -- airbnbs, hotels, anywhere. If/when I head back to Carlisle, I'll be seeing if Jackie and Keith's place is available again!

    Stephen2017-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • This was our 3rd. time with Jackie and Keith. They are wonderful hosts.

    Richard2017-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • Jackie is a wonderful host - with a beautiful home - very conveniently located if you are the parent of a Dickinson student. Jackie is very responsive and communicates clearly so that her home is ready when you arrive.

  • Kathleen's place was exceptional!! She communicated everything we neededand/ or asked for during our stay, and was a perfect host. We will be staying there again! Even before I rented, she took the time to answer all sorts of questionslike restaurants, travel times, etc - this was my first stay with Airbnb . Very professional and personable!

  • Kathleen's home is an amazing AirBNB. If you are looking for a home away from Home experience, don't hesitate to book with Kathleen. Her well appointed home was spotless, spacious and had everything we needed. Our family's first AirBNB experience was beyond our expectations! Wish we could have extended our quick weekend getaway into something longer as the accommodations were perfect for us.

  • We just spent 3 days In this home and it was the best experience. The house was very clean and the location was perfect for traveling to Hershey Park and Lancaster county. There were six of us so we used all the bedrooms which were fresh and comfortable. Our getaway was extra special because we could relax together at the end of our daily excursions without crowding into a cramped hotel room.

    Gloria2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • Great communication. Easy check in. Nice quiet area.

Next to historic Fort Hunter Park and on the riverbank of the Susquehanna, the Treehouse is a cozy getaway only 5 minutes from center city Harrisburg. Walk in the park, ride our bikes, paddle the river in our kayaks, fish or just chill and read on our riverdecks and furniture.....
  • This place is incredible! The location is very easy to find and right off the highway. The room is cozy, well stocked and pretty much everything you may need is here- linens, kitchen supplies, towels, and even extra storage space. I wish we were able to stay around the Tree House longer to really explore. The sight is beautiful- overlooking the river with comfy chairs and benches to enjoy the view. Gary and Diane were very welcoming. We brought our 2 dogs and they loved it- make sure if you bring your 4 legged friend that they are ok with climbing a flight of outdoor stairs. There is a park across the street and plenty of room to walk the dogs. The bathroom is a little on the small side but has a sink, toilet and even a shower. The beds are fold out sofa beds- my husband and I each had our own. This place is a great retreat for 2 people

    Ashley2017-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I decided rather last minute to make a quick getaway over Thanksgiving weekend. Couldn't have found a more perfect setting than the Treehouse! We had a wonderful, comfortable, peaceful stay. Special touches we especially enjoyed: Dog friendly, fresh apples, Max's visits, pictures of the river, firepit and cooking steaks on the grill, gorgeous house tour, and friendly chats with Gary and Diane. My husband is a train enthusiast and loved watching the trains pass. Outstanding river views and serene sunrises. We will need to come back in warmer weather to try out the canoes, bikes, kayak, etc!!

If you like railroad history, you'll appreciate that the Enola Rail Yard was home to hundreds of railroaders, many of whom lived in this neighborhood. The distant sounds of the Norfolk Southern Rail Yard can still be heard when it's very quiet.
  • Tim was such an amazing host. Even though he was out of town when we stayed at his lovely home, he was above and beyond accommodating. We were delayed multiple times past the original date we booked because of the weather (winter storm Juno kept messing up our plans!) and he made sure the place was available for us even in the days after we were supposed to leave in case the storm made it unsafe to leave. The bed was cozy and the house welcoming, and I will definitely stay with Tim next time I'm passing that way!

    Meara Louise2015-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Tim is the perfect host, very friendly, honest, kind and helpful. I stayed almost 2,5 month but in a another room because of that I needed plug in wi-fi for my work and also a desk and that room became available first after I had booked this room. Tim was kind and arranged a switch to the room I actually rented. He sent me pics of my new room and everything was exactly like the pics if not even better. The wi-fi worked just perfect too. My room was big and very nice and it also had a fridge and a TV in it. The bed were also very good for my sometimes bad back. Safe neighbourhood and it is close to the bus stop and easy access to interstate, highways and downtown too. My stay at Tim's house is overall one of my absolutely best airbnb experience and I highly recommend this to all of you who is looking for a room to rent in Harrisburg area. I am planning for to come back to Tim next year and hopefully he has a room available for me to rent then. Thank you Tim, you made my visit so very good! Wish you and your family a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

  • I moved from out of town and stayed with Tim for a few days during the transition. This is my first experience with Airbnb and it impressed me how Tim has his place set up; I could not ask for more without asking for a renovation for a private bath, since everything else was there, clean and ready for me. Excellent stay.

    Paul2016-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • This might honestly be my best AirBnB experience ever. The house is amazing, the amenities were great, and overall it was way past any expectations I had. I highly recommend staying here!

  • Tim was a very welcoming and thoughtful host. The amenities were beyond our expectations and he went out of his way to make us feel comfortable.

  • Tim's place in Enola was everything we needed to rest our heads for the night & more. Tim was such a warm and welcoming host who kindly thought of all amenities we could have needed for our stay. Tim even got up bright & early with us the next morning (we were heading out for a 12 hour roadtrip) and sent us with excellent coffee and snacks for the road. Next time we'll definitely stay longer as Tim has lots of interesting knowledge of the area and it's history. We'll have to come back to Enola soon!

    Shelby2016-12-04T00:00:00Z
  • I spent three months at Tim's place while working an internship in the area. Tim was the perfect host! He was always friendly and accommodating. Tim was willing to invite me to sit by the fire, or eat with him, but didn't make me feel like I had to. Whether you like company, or your own space, Tim's place is ideal. The house was always clean and well kept, I felt like I was staying at home. Tim definitely takes care of his tenants! Thank you for everything Tim(URL HIDDEN) -Jenna P.

  • This place is beautiful! Karena is an attentive hostess who has prepared a place that's not only comfortable, it is decorated perfectly and equipped with every amenity you'd need. Check in was easy. We were greeted with fresh flowers, treats from the local area, and a lovely note. I could go on and on about how wonderful this place is. There is a smart tv that is actually hooked up to their cable so you can watch tv or log into your netflix account. There is a sitting area, a desk, a collection of books, AC/heat and a mini fridge. The bed was comfy as well. This space has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Nicholas called us to confirm our arrival time and was there to show us the space. We felt very welcomed by Nicholas and his adorable dogs! We will definitely be staying here again.

  • Lovely and quiet room.

    Jennifer2017-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Nick and Caron's place on our way back to Boston after visiting family in Atlanta. I must say the place is quaint, I believe this is an old salvaged barn turned into an amazing home. I loved the exposed limestone(?) and the hardwood floor. The cast iron sink in the bathroom was quite amazing. It snowed a bit during the night so we could not really walk the trail behind the property(no proper shoes), however I believe it would be perfect for morning runs. There are numerous restaurants close by. It turned out to be a really good romantic getaway for us. We were really tired and enjoyed the cozy place. I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone looking. Hats off to Nick for offering Microwave from his own kitchen as I had somehow imagined the place to have a kitchenette, which I find useful for fixing breakfast. There's coffee maker and also a refrigerator, not having a cook-top or microwave was not an issue at all for us as there are several restaurants in town.

    Avinash2016-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Nick and Caron's place is super cute and perfect for folks traveling through PA. Plenty of space and very quiet for relaxing. Loved the attention to detail, including the wine glasses, coffee, and waters. Towels were awesome and we had fun looking at all the books on the shelf! Caron was very nice and showed us around the studio when we got there (it was our first time using airbnb, so we appreciated this). Overall great experience and we would certainly stay here again!

  • We came to see an old friend of ours, and Nick & Caron's place was just what we were looking for. Quiet, comfortable and relaxed with a tasteful, homey atmosphere. We'd be happy to stay there again the next time we come to the area. Charming place!

    Jeffrey2017-04-25T00:00:00Z
  • I love when reality exceeds my expectations! What a sweet place to relax and enjoy peace and quiet in a super clean and cozy space. I enjoyed all of the necessary comforts of home including super cool art work and a combination of beautifully restored and high-end fixtures in addition to healthy snacks, refrigerated bottled water, coffee, tea, etc. Although attached to their beautiful home, I felt as though I was far away in a remote cabin; a well groomed, quiet nature trail, with historical and natural signage along the way, is a few steps away. Most importantly, Nick, Caron and pups were so kind and receptive to my arrival. The hosts were available to meet any needs that might have arisen. I will definitely try to visit again on my way south if this place is available. Thanks for your topnotch hospitality!

Experience Central Pennsylvania while staying in a lovely creekside home. Easily drive to Hershey PA, Lancaster County PA, Gettysburg PA. Explore the Appalachian trail, hang out by a bonfire in the evening or just sit in the creek. Fishing opportunities are plentiful and most fly fishermen will recognize “The Yellow Breaches” Mechaniscsburg PA is also 1 1/2 hours from Baltimore MD, approximately 2 hours from Washington DC, 2 hours from Philadelphia. Shopping and grocery stores are nearby.
  • The house was beautiful and Karsten was very easy to contact. His insight on everything around the area was definitely helpful in us planning our days. Waking up to the view of the creek in front of the house was amazing. I recommend this property to anyone who is interested in a quiet and peaceful setting but not far from all the restaurants and shopping centers. A plus in my book. Thanks Karsten for such a pleasant stay.

  • Nice and tasty

    Corey2017-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • Karsten was a great host- very easy to communicate with before, during, and after our stay. The house is large and easily accommodated my group of 4. Tons of space indoors not to mention the beautiful giant backyard. Karsten offered for us to use the canoe and kayaks for the river just steps away. Would definitely recommend for families, groups, etc. I'd definitely book here again.

    Andrew2017-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • The house was the perfect size to accommodate our entire family with plenty of the room for the kids to play! The location was beautiful and convenient to everywhere we wanted to go. I would recommend bringing your own pillow if you are picky. Overall, it was lovely and we had a wonderful stay.

  • House was exactly what we needed for our family trip, lots of room both indoor and outdoor for the kids to play and located not too far from Hersheypark where we spent most of our time. Karsten was a great host, house had everything we needed. We will definitely be back

    Alicia2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • A great place to stay! The place is much bigger then the pictures show! We brought 5 adults and 3 young children and there was plenty of space. There's 3 living rooms, a huge kitchen, really big bathrooms, lots of outdoor deck spaces, tv's in almost every room, and sooo much outdoor space. We loved using the kitchen and eating around the big dining room table. We also loved the deck and the great view of the river across the street. There's lots of outdoors options (kayaks, fire pit, picnic table by the water, tire swing into the water), although with little kids we chose not to use them. It was great having nice fresh sheets and towels prepared for us. There's also tons of parks, playgrounds, and restaurants all within a 3-5 minute drive. Karsten was very easy and quick to communicate with. He was very accommodating and I would definitely rent/work with him again.

This apartment has a comfortable queen size bed and is very quiet. It has a large desk and is well lit. There is a full size private bath with a laundry area. A private living room and a kitchenette for your use. The apartment is about 600 sq. ft.
We live in a quiet suburban neighborhood. It is a very pleasant area to walk or bike. We are close to historic Boiling Springs "children's lake"; The Army Heritage Museum; The Carlisle Army War College; Dickinson College; CPYB; Carlisle Fairgrounds and downtown Carlisle. There are many places to shop and a variety of restaurants nearby.
  • One of the Best Airbnb's! Better book now because this will be a rare find!Marie and Harry were wonderful hosts! Their apartment is exceptionally spacious! Large living room and bedroom. Everything is there you're going to need. Very clean and a comfortable bed! Completely stocked kitchen and set up for cooking a meal, if needed. Even coffee, breakfast items and snacks. Very convenient on and off I-81...within minutes. We even enjoyed a dinner out together! We are making this our half way stop to NC from now on.

  • Marie & Harry's apartment is one of the nicest Airbnb places we stayed at so far. It was so comfortable and cozy, exceeding our expectations above the pictures displayed on the website. Marie & Harry are terrific hosts welcoming us into their home. Carlisle is a quaint college town with many places of interest to explore. This is a great place to stay and we recommend it with 5+ stars.

  • We stopped at Marie’s for a place to stay on a long road trip and had a great night of sleep. It was nice and quiet and a very convenient location. She also made muffins for us which were great. We would recommend and will likely stay again.

  • Marie is an excellent host. The apartment was very clean and comfortable with lots of room to relax. We really enjoyed the homemade muffins!

  • Place is spotless and so cozy and comfortable. Plenty of room to spread out and relax. All the perks: great bed, coffee, huge couch, cushy recliner, muffins, snacks, plenty of towels, heaters (if needed) parking!! Marie and Harry a lovely hosts— highly recommend!!!

  • Marie and her husband were wonderful hosts! They were warmly hospitable and helpful. The place was spotless, comfortable, and I felt right at home. Snacks, drinks, and coffee were a treat (and as others have noted, the homemade muffins!). Would absolutely stay here again!

    Sam2017-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • Marie and Harry were absolutely wonderful. The car broke down but coming back to their lovely place was the perfect thing after a tough experience. The place was very clean and very cozy. And before setting out to try and figure out the car situation in the morning, the treats and fruits they’ve left out in the kitchen really helped with junpstarting my morning! I would DEFINITELY recommend staying here!

Built in 1900, our home stands just blocks away from the center of Dickinson's campus and the core of downtown Carlisle. Besides the guest bedroom, you will have access to a private bathroom and the entire downstairs (kitchen, living room, etc)!
Most of our home is open to your use, including use of the kitchen, refrigerator, the formal dining room, living room, and basement (if you wish to do laundry). We also have a porch and large backyard, great for soaking up the sun during the summer. We also have off-street parking behind our garage for one SMALL vehicle. But probably you'll just want to use on-street parking because there is usually plenty of that.
Besides being just 2 blocks from Dickinson College, our house is just across the street from John's Restaurant--a local favorite featuring cheap breakfasts and lunches. We are a 5-10 minute walk from many of the quaint stores and restaurants in downtown Carlisle, including our favorites: Issei (Vietnamese & Japanese), Mt. Fuji (sushi), Cafe Bruges (Belgian), White Elephant (Thai), Andalusia (Spanish tapas), Helena's Creperie, Market Cross Pub, and many more!
  • Had a great trip in Carlisle for a five year college reunion. Andrew and his wife Liz were more than welcoming at their home, which is incredible. The room was clean with lots of information available about the place and Carlisle on the whole. Would absolutely recommend if you're stopping through Carlisle.

    Zach2017-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • Andrew and Liz were fantastic and accommodating hosts. The house was extremely clean and comfortable, with great access to Dickinson's campus. One morning they were unable to provide breakfast so they gave us a coupon for a diner nearby, which was incredibly generous of them. If you're ever in Carlisle or visiting Dickinson, this is a perfect place to stay. Andrew and Liz made everything very easy.

    Teddy2016-05-09T00:00:00Z
  • My parents stayed with Andrew. He was a very good communicator. They enjoyed their stay very much.

    Jennifer2016-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • Great experience - wish we had more time as this was a pretty quick visit. Having John's Hideaway next door does not hurt! Great place to stay if visiting Dickinson - perfect location!

    Andrew2016-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Andrew and Liz were very welcoming in advance by email and then in person when I arrived. The house was neat as a pin and their cat very friendly and affectionate. The location only two blocks from Dickerson was ideal for a college parents visit

  • We had a great stay in this spacious accommodation. We came up for our son's graduation weekend and Andrew and Liz made sure we had a great time. Thanks again!

  • Andrew and Elizabeth are wonderful hosts, making us feel right at home. They are great communicators and we lacked for nothing. Their lovely home is just a block from Dickinson College and downtown is a very short distance for walking as well. We had a great stay.

    Carol2016-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Andrew and Liz are such a lovely couple-they were courteous, polite but also helpful, friendly and welcoming. They made me and my kids feel at ease and we really enjoyed getting to know them and their sweet cat, Poe. Their house was centrally located to Dickenson and town so we could get around very easily either by car or foot. Street parking was easy to find. Andrew made sure that the fridge was stocked with breakfast groceries after our long drive. We felt at home with their company. When I asked my kids if they would like to return to Carlisle, they mentioned that they would "only if we stay with Andrew and Liz"!

Spacious home built in 1900 just 3 blocks from Dickinson. Full kitchen with dishwasher; laundry in the basement; patio and backyard; front porch; driveway parking.
Walking distance to Dickinson and CPYB. There are a dozen or so pre-civil war homes on this block and the next; it's charming, safe day and night, and near several parks. If you'd like walking-distance dinner recommendations: Cafe Bruges has good Belgian food and beers (as well as near-NYC prices). Issei has excellent ramen and pho. Andalusia has fine tapas. Whiskey Rebellion has good American fare and very good cocktails. Mt. Fuji has the best sushi in town. All are within seven blocks of the house.
  • It's a nice place and close to restaurants. I would definitely stay there in the future.

    Steve2017-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • Nice clean house, great central location in the historic district, easy walking distance to many great dining establishments. would come back just for the food feasting and of course the beer! yay Bruges. Kiki the cat was an added bonus great company and well behaved.

  • Jeffery's place is really clean, comfortable, and convenient, within easy walking distance of downtown Carlisle and in an really cute and pretty part of town with lots of old buildings. We were four people and had PLENTY of room in the house. Jeffery was very responsive and easy to communicate with. Highly recommended!

  • We had a great time in the area. Communication with host was normally within an hour. Clean house the attic was hot. You have to set the AC and leave it to run for a bit before you can actually sleep. Rate this trip a 4.3.

  • Great home in Carlisle close to everything. One bathroom on 3rd floor and one in basement. Bathroom in basement is sketchy, small, poorly lit, and didn't feel nice. Upstairs bathroom was good. This is a good, affordable option for Carlisle.

  • Jeff was very responsive to my questions. It was a great place for my family to lay their heads for the night. I will look to reserve here again when I need to stay in Carlisle.

A newly renovated home great for a family or couples. Nestled in a quiet suburb it's conveniently located to the PA Farm Show, Hershey Park & outlets, Hershey Medical Center, Gettysburg National Park, Lancaster outlets & Amish country and to downtown Harrisburg where the Capitol, State Museum & Whitaker Center for Science & Arts are located. Great restaurants are located on restaurant row and Midtown Cinema hosts independent films. Churches, synagogues, & Chabad house all in walking distance.
This home gives you access to a spacious and well supplied kitchen, with separate dining and living room spaces. The master bedroom has a queen size bed and its own master bathroom with shower. The only four steps in the house are those leading from the living room to the master bedroom. There are two other bedrooms with a double bed in each. The fourth bedroom is currently set up as an office space, but can easily accommodate an air bed that sleeps one. All the bedrooms have closet space. The second bathroom is a full bathroom with a shower/tub located near these bedrooms and office. There is a large backyard with a swing set and plenty of space for running around.
The house is located in a quiet and safe neighborhood with minimal traffic. There is plenty of on street parking and room for two cars in the driveway. Our unique little "cube" flat roof house is located in a small town development with a fantastic mountain view. The interior is a fun blend of modern and cozy. The front porch is perfect to watch the sunset or enjoy your morning coffee.
It has a unique flair in the midst of rural PA. With lots of fun features, a lovely little front porch to watch the sunset and a small backyard space with a fire pit.
Although we are in a small town development, we have a fantastic view of the mountains and the most wonderful neighbors!
  • The house was very comfortable and inviting, spacious perfect for a family of four. Beautiful country with a nice view of the valley below. We enjoyed our stay and will stay again.

  • Randy and Susan were super responsive to any question I had. The house itself was cozy and very quiet, which was exactly what I was looking for. Excellent hosts.

    David2016-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • The house is very unique and one of a kind in the neighborhood in which it's situated . When you walk in you are welcomed by warm scents and beautiful decor true to the photos. The family was away when we arrived but made it incredibly easy and simple to get in and make ourselves comfortable. They are incredibly prompt in replying to any messages or questions we had, even though there were only a few because they had provided clear initial directions. The house is equipped with two full sized, deep (one is claw foot) bathtubs and it made it hard to choose which one to use each day ! The Wifi was easy to connect to, which is always a plus. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need to whip up a great meal. If you are looking for a low key, get away my suggestion would be to get all groceries you may need before you arrive as the nearest grocery is a ways away in neighboring Mifflintown. We drove out to a historic trail called the one thousand steps that we enjoyed hiking. It was exhausting but featured a beautiful view ! There is a nearby river that if the season allows for it, seems to have great things to do (we went in the winter) . The place was cozy (if in winter be prepared to bundle a tad until the heat warms up, as it's in efficiency mode when you first arrive. Which is a great thing ! But just a note) , welcoming , as pretty as described in the photos, had a washer and dryer, felt secluded even though it was in a small subdivision, has nice mountains surrounding it, and has all you need for a nice family get-away or couples get-away. All activities are definitely some drive away as it is located in the countryside but for what you get it is worth it. Happy Travels.

    Stephen2015-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • This was my second time staying at Randy & Susan's. Once again, everything was perfect. Thanks guys!

    Wendy2017-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • This place is wonderful. It is everything you see in the pictures. A great little getaway in a nice quiet area with plenty of close by hiking and great scenery

    Carrie2017-03-26T00:00:00Z
  • Randy and Susan's home was perfect for a weekend getaway. Everything we needed was in the home and easy to find. It was super clean and looked exactly like the photos. It's a great place to stay if you want to get away and check out some local wineries.

    Karolina2017-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • Exactly as pictured. Out in the country but very close to small town gas station with most of the essentials although you won't need anything as Randy and Susan have everything you'll need. House was all ready and heated when we arrived. We got good use of both the indoor and outdoor fireplace. They helped us find an amazing mountain-top view/hiking area nearby and wifi was easy to connect to. Their house was very modern and inviting. Sunsets were amazing from the front porch and the bathrooms and showers/tubs were both very nice. Would definitely recommend to those looking to get away for a weekend or a while. Very pleasant first Airbnb experience overall. Would definitely come back!
