  • Emilia is incredible and this studio is beautiful! Great location and great hospitality!

    Libby2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Emilia is definitely a 5 star host. She is friendly, helpful and left many nice touches for us to discover on the space. It was beautifully appointed and the special touches (fresh baked cookies, wine, juice, water bottles, directions and reading materials) were a wonderful surprise! Highly recommend and will be back! She and her family also own an adorable coffee shop and store just a few steps away with anything you might need .

    Jamie2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Emilia’s home was lovely. Communication and directions on where and how to get there and to get in, were great and offering any help needed with parking in the lot provided was much appreciated! The two rooms were adorable and very well maintained with new and lovely fixtures, especially the large shower head, so great. The sweet treat and welcome were nice and the bed was so comfy, along with every amenity possible! I loved the space and her parents store close by us... amazing!! I shopped there my first day, it’s a great place and looks to have great coffee and goodies. It was like a mini vacation!! Thank you Emilia!!

    Kathleen2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • The perfect space for a small vacation. Absolutely loved it!

    Sofia2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Emilia is a great host! The studio apartment was very clean and within walking distance to everything Orono has to offer! We enjoyed the giant pumpkin chocolate chip cookies that we discovered as soon as we opened the door. Emilia was more than happy to help out with anything we needed. I will definitely be staying here again!

    Elizabeth2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Emilia has the cutest studio! It felt cozy as soon as I walked in the door. It’s in a nice area with plenty of restaurants around. Emilia really thought about all the small things and even had a sweet treat to welcome me. I will definitely be staying again! Thank you Emilia!

    Ashley2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • Emilia’s home was the perfect get away for my fiancé and I to celebrate our anniversary. We were treated with the warmest welcome. The town is the sweetest place with awesome restaurants! We stopped by her family run coffee shop and it was filled with an abundance of treats and everyday necessities. Walmart, Target, and other stores are just a quick 10 minute drive away. Her home was so cozy and comfortable and our stay was the best! We highly recommend anyone to stay here! We can’t wait to visit again soon.

Our GPS gave us some trouble finding the location and our host was very quick to respond and help us check in. We definitely have to come back and take advantage of staying at the studio!

    Old Town, ME, United States

We're on a bit of a hill on the outskirts of Orono. The space is a remodeled and expanded former garage which the locals called a barn. It has an upstairs sleeping loft, a bathroom with a shower, a hot plate and a refrigerator, and a main, large room downstairs. One can walk to downtown in less than 20 minutes where we have at least 5 restaurants. There are hiking possibilities without driving anywhere. The University of Maine is our chief attraction but we have sporting opportunities, too
The unit is a recently renovated and expanded garage which now has a large open room downstairs that we use for art projects and yoga when guests are not present. A cot could be set up downstairs for a third guest if desired. Upstairs is a sleeping loft. We tend toward minimalism, but can configure the space with extra furniture if desired. We can also provide art stations and supplies. The upstairs loft sleeps two comfortably. The unit shares part of a wall with the main house, separated by a locked door. Guests don’t have to see us unless they want to meet. We have a dog and two cats, though they don’t enter the unit. We clean thoroughly between guests with clean sheets and towels. Life is too short to iron the sheets, but Émilia up the road does do that. Pets are fine, but we charge a $25 cleaning fee after pet stays to adequately remove their hair, though probably not perfectly. People with pet allergies might want pet free units that are available elsewhere in Orono. We are « naturalizing » the grounds with roses and wildflowers. Feel free to roam about and occupy the porch (shared with us), though it’s cold in winter.
We're on the main street of the town but behind the house is a watershed so there are no neighbors to the north and east of the house. There are three small waterfalls in the creek. It's a bit of a steep walk to the creek, but easy if one is in shape. There's nice hiking around an old, abandoned quarry on the other side of the creek with easier access from a road just past the creek (where trucks used to enter but don't anymore).
  • It's a great little in law apartment with a neat sleeping loft. It's semi secluded yet close to downtown.

    Frank2020-04-26T00:00:00Z
  • Pulling into the small driveway off the road, you'll expect to park into a parking spot in front of your tiny retreat. As you step out and up to the front door you can hear the river raging in the back ( though it is not accessible ) it was a suprise I wasn't expecting. Walking in you'll notice the smell of sage and the ample window lighting. You'll notice the art supplies and indigenous objects displayed which were fascinating to observe. Kitchenette set up with all you need. Supplies to cook with and some food and snacks to eat along with an array of teas and coffee to choose from. Bathroom was clean with many options of clean, biodegradable products and the loft with a firm bed and a lounge chair next to the window which gives you a view of the river in the back and I'd highly recommend opening that window to hear the river while you sleep! Communication with Lewis and Barbara was effortless. Highly recommended.

  • Thought the rustic tiny house was beautiful 😉You will enjoy a lovely time there!

    Catherine2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Great host, Thanks for having us!

    Troy2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Relaxed atmosphere and space. Will definitely return.

    Nichelle2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Just off the main road in Orono, (were I once lived and had no idea this gem was here!). Easy access to downtown, restaurants, and gas stations. Upon entering the house, you are welcomed with inviting warmth and a very lovely smell of lavender and sage. The indigenous decorations are beautiful, really fascinated by the two skulls and the coyote pelt. The kitchenette was easy to use! Lewis had supplied a bag of coffee beans to grind for fresh coffee. We helped ourselves to books that were laid out. The bathroom was very clean and beautiful! The stone sink really added so much and the shower was spacious and clean. My favorite part had to have been the very cozy loft. The low ceilings provided a "den" like feel and the bed is probably more comfortable than my own! And, in the morning, Lewis had shoveld a path to our car through the freshly fallen snow! Overall, this stay has been one of my absolute favorites.

  • Andreas place is really clean, very quiet, and perfect for a 4 or 5 day stay, centrally located for us to take care of appointments in Bangor. Would most definitely stay again.

    Ricky2019-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • Had a quiet one night stay at this apartment. It was private, quiet, well decorated and was equipped with all essentials! There was a little note on the table telling us all about local restaurants in the area; and the hosts made it known that they were only a call or a message away if we needed anything! Location is also so close to main shopping in Bangor.

    Bobbie2019-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • The place was perfect for our trip to visit UMaine at Homecoming. Great location as you can walk to many Orono businesses, yet you are secluded. The home was clean, inviting, and comfortable. Beds are great and spare toothbrush was very much appreciated as one was forgotten! Would recommend this spot and would come back to visit again when going to “The College of our Hearts Always”!

    Rebecca2019-10-27T00:00:00Z

  • Very convenient, great communication/easy check in, the vibe of Andre's place was fantastic.

    Mary2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • This house is spacious, very clean and so tastefully decorated. Any needs of the guest have been anticipated. Comfy bed. It's a very quiet space with a country view. We so enjoyed our time there.

    Connie2019-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • Andre's rental is even better than the photos. It is unique and situated in a great location for hoping on to I95. He met us and we had a very nice conversation about his house and what he had done to convert it to its current terrific vibe. There are many thoughtful touches that you might expect in a good hotel. There is a private deck off each of the two bedrooms with a cafe-style table and chairs overlooking a very large expanse of beautifully maintained lawn. A great place to relax after a long drive. His common room with TV, etc. is very comfortable and his kitchen is about the best space I've had the pleasure of making a K-cup in. Overall, the kitchen and common space belongs in Architectural Digest as compared to any other AirBnB orB&B I've stayed in. I'd give him 10 stars if I could.

    Peter2019-07-30T00:00:00Z

  • Andre’s home is not only spotlessly clean and comfortable, it has so many unique touches. He has an incredible kitchen with many amenities for his guest. The bedroom is stylish and the bed itself very comfortable. Andre was courteous and extremely responsive to any of our many messages back-and-forth. He made our stay at his home very easy and accessible. We would definitely stay there again and recommend it without reservation. Kevin and Julie Puckett North Carolina

  • Cozy and rustic place to stay close to downtown Orono.

    Ian2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • The photos do not do it justice! It is such a cute and warm little space. There is this very, very sweet orange tabby cat that may come if you sit on the porch. It was conveniently close to the Umaine campus and I plan on staying here again when I visit my boyfriend.

    Anabel2019-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • This space is a former artist’s studio and Doug and Laurie have kept some of the fun features of the studio while outfitting it with modern amenities. The heated floors are divine, especially on a damp Maine weekend. This is a great place to stay if you have reason to stay near Orono.

    Sue2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was absolutely perfect! The studio was spacious, beautiful, clean, and well located. We will gladly return!

    Katie2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • If you can book it, do. Super unique, cute, serene, peaceful, and perfectly close to town with a stunning view that makes you feel like you’re secluded. Pictures don’t do the place justice.

    Kristina2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Doug and Laurie’s place was perfect! The location can not be beat and the space was delightful. We will be back!

    Shelley2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • The Studio was perfect for the three of us. Everything we needed for a two night stay was provided. Thoughtful touches like a selection of tea and coffee pods, creamers in the fridge, an iron and ironing board...all very much appreciated. Loved sitting on the little deck, overlooking the beautiful gardens in the back of this very unique, architect-designed home, with mid-century decor. We'll definitely book again!

This house was built during the Civil War! Go back in time here at the George Rider House! The kitchen in this apartment is really unique; George Rider, the original owner of the property way back in the mid 1800's, was a joiner, a type of carpenter specializing in cabinetry. George Rider was featured in an architectural history book on Italianite buildings of Bangor, Maine! He built the building for himself and his family, and the kitchen in this unit and the owner's unit, features the original cabinetry! There are many unique built-ins and features to enjoy, such as the old-time breadmaking drawer! The second bedroom has a curved rounded wall! After a thorough cleaning, we put an ozone machine in the space, which kills any bacteria and viruses - we've always done this, it keeps the space smelling fresh, too. Both beds feature luxury high-end 3 inch memory foam toppers for your supreme comfort. The master bedroom features a lovely fireplace which is as simple to use as pushing a button. It can be operated with heat or without, using just the LED's (fire-look, great to use in the summer when you don't want to use heat). The furnishings in this apartment are all brand new, except for the many antiques generously sprinkled throughout the space, most from Lisa's own collection. • Great place to stay

    Javion2020-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa was an outstanding host, she put a lot of thought into the details of the airbnb which made our stay easy, relaxing, and enjoyable. She left snacks and chocolates, a kitchen fully stocked with appliances we might need, bath supplies (bath bomb, bubble bath, salts, etc), and plenty of blankets so we could snuggle up! The place is private, cozy (but spacious), very clean, and in a safe area. We really enjoyed walking just a few short minutes to the path alongside the river. Also took a trip to Acadia, only an hour away! This is the most at-home I’m ever felt in an airbnb, will definitely come back! Lisa was easy to communicate with and flexible.

    Sarah2020-03-30T00:00:00Z
  • The space is very clean and cozy, an hour drive away from Acadia. Lisa was an amazing host. There were instructions and labels on everything so that there was no confusion at all when it came to check-in/check-out and everything inbetween. Frequently checked in to see if we needed anything. • Lisa’s home was the perfect spot for a lovely get away to Bangor ME. The home was exactly as pictured and described with so much more. The little details that Lisa put into her home made the stay that much more cozy and comfortable! The home was immaculate from top to bottom and stocked with all necessities and then some extras too! Loved the snacks, recommendation booklets and the community store (a basket with items commonly forgotten and a piggy bank jar to contribute if you take something from it)! My husband and I would stay here again in a heartbeat! Lisa was very responsive and checked in to make sure we didn’t need anything!

    Brittany2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Very Clean, what the pictures show is what you get. Lisa was also very nice and helpful. I’d stay there again.

    Ezra2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa’s Airbnb was great. The apartment was clean and tidy. Easy to find and simple check in/out. The shower was quite small, so if you’re taller than average you may find it to be cramped. Overall, a great value and awesome touches. As a native Mainer, the Moxie in the fridge was a lovely treat.

  • Lisa made sure I was as comfortable as possible and her place was super cozy! Thank you Lisa!

    Ashley2020-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing stay at Lisa’s place. She has truly thought of everything. It shows how much she truly cares about being a great host by all the thoughtful touches around the apartment. She had really useful instructions, great tips about local places, an incredible tempurpedic mattress topper, sound machines, and an assortment of pillows to match any preference. She had bath bombs and a variety of condiments, coffees, hot chocolate and everything you could imagine to make it feel like a home away from home. We were there almost 3 weeks and it was perfect. Lisa was very communicative but always respected our privacy. In fact I never saw her, but I knew she would be there quickly if I needed her. The place was super clean. I laughed when I dropped something under the bed and saw a little sign that said something like “yes, we even clean down here!!” 😀 I highly recommend Lisa’s place. You won’t regret staying there. In fact, I hope I have an opportunity to stay there again.

Our place is a second floor apartment with a narrow entry staircase. It is in a quiet neighborhood in Bangor close to the city center, parks, restaurants, pubs, and the Waterfront Pavilion". Downtown is an easy 15-20 minute walk. The Bangor Mall area (and the Interstate) is only 5 minutes away, an easy drive to all the many stores, restaurants and cinema as well. Bangor itself is conveniently located for ready access to many Maine activities and sights, both coastal and inland
There is one bedroom with a Queen size "Sleep Number" bed and ample closet space. There is a full-size futon couch in the living room for additional sleeping space if needed. There is a fully stocked kitchen with plates, pans, the basics for cooking, a Keurig coffeemaker with coffee, a microwave, oven/stove, refrigerator and garbage disposal. The small bathroom is off the living room. This would be a great rental for a weekend, a week or longer. Free high speed Internet and cable TV. Bonus of a keypad entry so there's some flexibility for arrival.
The apartment is located in a 5 unit building that has long-term tenants and the building is located in a nice and quiet residential neighborhood. We live next door to the apartment building and are available.
  • Excellent. Highly recommend

  • It is indeed cozy! Very homey and comfortable with lots of thoughtful touches. Mike even left some refreshments from his winery. Frank’s Bakery down the street has a great diverse menu and staffed by friendly people. Wish I could have stayed longer.

  • Mike’s place was exactly as described - a cozy nook. Our hosts went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable starting with a welcome drink of delicious local ciders from their own brewery. A folder full of useful information is provided and helpful instructions for all the amenities are placed in all the right places. Great coffee machine! The apartment was nicely decorated and spacious and the bed was the most comfortable we have had so far. There are a set of steep stairs to enter the apartment so if stairs are a problem or you have a lot of luggage you many need to take this into account. We are in our 60s but coped fine with a small overnight bag. Highly recommended.

  • With sightseeing tips and restaurant suggestions, Mike and Joan’s hospitality began before we even arrived in Bangor. Their home was central to everything we wanted to see and do and it truly felt like a home away from home with everything we could possibly need. They left us snacks and personal touches that helped us settle in. We we will absolutely be back!

Our neighborhood is one of the oldest in our city, with many homes from the late 1900s. Some have been renovated into apartment homes, but most are family-occupied. It is a quiet area with moderate traffic and an occasional siren headed to the medical center. We are proud of our international airport and hosting the Troop Greeters Museum, and from time to time you may hear (and feel) the sounds of freedom as a B1 or fighter jet visits. The Bangor area is centrally located and is home to famous author Stephen King. If you’re a fan, you can check out SK Tours, which takes you to the locations that inspired his books and movies. Or, have a nice picture in front of the bat gates at his West Broadway home. https://sk-tours.com/activities/tour-of-stephen-kings-derry-maine/ The Bog Walk is a wooden walking path built through a marshland system to preserve its habitat. • A lovely stay for the week! Quiet and calm, but close enough to the downtown Bangor area to ensure we never went hungry or got bored. Highly recommend!

    Syed2020-04-03T00:00:00Z
  • Super hosts... great communicators. The two room suite has a comfortable bed and good heating... spotlessly clean... all sorts of shampoos and lotions and soaps in the tub/shower, not a full kitchen but a microwave and lots of plates and teacups and coffee, tea, sodas in the fridge. Lots of friendly touches, too like books and playing cards... it’s in a quiet residential neighborhood, a short drive from anywhere in Bangor, and a comfortable striking distance to the University of Maine (where I was headed to visit my son)... WIFI was solid, and I stayed up with a book rather than using the big flat screen TV that is in the bedroom, but it looked like it had a complete selection of cable including NetFlix, too. This is one of the nicest short visits I’ve had using Air BnB. I recommend CharmHouse highly.

  • My boyfriend and I loved our stay at Charm House. The space was very clean and super cute! Definitely would come back

  • This place is a gem- and so are the hosts! My partner and I stayed for a week in search of housing in the area, and this was a great home away from home. The place was great and had everything we needed. It's centrally located and within walking distance to downtown and some local eateries. Coleen and Michael were fantastic hosts who gave us suggestions of places to visit and eat and checked in with us throughout the visit. I cannot recommend them and their Airbnb enough. If we weren't moving to the area, we would definitely come back and stay with them!

The "Oasis Room" at Stream Road Farmhouse, located in the bucolic town of Winterport, combines the warmth and charm of an early century home with the ease of modern conveniences; centrally located between Bangor and Belfast. Whether visiting Acadia Nat'l Park, Maine's many harbor towns or Stephen King's house (!); you'll get that rural "in the country feeling" while only 10 mi from I-95 and 20 min from Bangor Int'l Airport. *Breakfast incl. & long term stays welcome!
*NOTE: I have 2 bedrooms available (each under separate listings) - this one is the "Oasis Room" (bright, sunny and inviting!) and has 2 twin size beds. Bedrooms are located on the second story and staircase is extra wide (not the typical New England "steep & narrow"!). The upstairs bathroom will be "private" if the other bedroom (Stream Road Farm House - Tree House Room *which has a queen size bed) isn't booked - feel free to ask, if this is a concern! I've included pictures of the downstairs bathroom which has a great bathtub I'd be happy to share! Also, I have four little dogs (all related) who, although not the yappy type, will bark their greetings - other than that, they're pretty quiet! Smoking is permitted on the outside patio and, in inclement weather, the front enclosed porch may be used (it has windows!).
Penobscot Narrows Bridge & Observatory (the tallest public bridge observatory in the world!) and historic Fort Knox only 15 min. away and the famous Winterport Dragway (fun to watch the races and a great place to walk around!) and access to Maine's Interconnected Trail System both located within a mile from the Farmhouse!
  • My daughter and I had a wonderful experience at Wendy's place. Wendy is an extremely accommodating and thoughtful hostess, thinking of everything and anything that a traveling guest might need. All accommodations were very clean and inviting. The dogs were a delighted treat and welcomed us as well. Wendy's home was a terrific Winterport experience!

  • Wendy and Tom are super friendly, welcoming and understanding when we arrived. We were heading to Acadia the next day and they provided very helpful information. Their kitchen/common area feels great: the ceiling is tall, and the space is nicely lit with warm lights at night and natural light in the morning. We had a very pleasant breakfast there and some wonderful chats with the couple!

  • Wendy and Tom were superb hosts! I came to the area to explore Acadia and this was a perfect home base for that. Wendy was lovely to chat with and Tom was incredibly knowledgeable about Acadia, and both gave me excellent recommendations on the area! The space was remarkably clean and cozy, I felt right at home. I would highly recommend them.

Welcome to the Bangor, the gateway to Acadia/Bar Harbor. This 5-star host offers 2 bedrooms in a sparkling home with shared access to bathroom, kitchen, and living space. Park free in my spacious driveway. Neighborhood is quiet and quaint, home away from home. 10 minute walk to waterfront concerts, Shaw's grocery, Stephen King's house, and downtown Bangor. 15 minute walk to Cross Insurance Event Center and Hollywood Casino. 3 miles from the airport where you can take a quick Uber to my home.
When you stay with me, you'll be staying in a clean, quiet, and spacious home. Whether you want to sip coffee on the front porch as the sun goes down or jet in and out for a music festival at the Waterfront, my home is your home for your stay! I've hosted many traveling nurses, flight attendants, U of Maine students, and visitors to Acadia National park and Bar Harbor. The "Blue Room" features a brand new, comfortable queen size bed, a small expandable table, and a spacious closet for your items. The "Green Room" features a brand new, comfortable full size bed, a sitting space, and a large dresser and closet for your items. Both rooms are equipped with ceiling fans but I do not have air conditioning. Lastly, during the Summer, the front porch features a cozy bench and two chairs for enjoying the Summer breeze. I have extra pillows and blankets upon request. Many of my guests have been treated to my delicious banana bread, which I often bake for breakfast. You won't find any TVs on my property which provides for a calmer, quieter stay. That being said, you're welcome to bring your devices with you, I have free WiFi! Sign my guestbook before you leave and see notes from guests around the world.
Quiet, safe, beautiful scenery and architecture all around, very walkable, residential neighborhood. Very close to Stephen King's house, just a short 10 minute walk. Also 10 minute walk from waterfront concerts, grocery stores, and more. 15 minute walk to downtown Bangor, Cross Insurance Event Center, Hollywood Casino and more. Take an Uber for an even shorter ride! Just 3 miles from the airport.
  • I would highly recommend Reda’s place for your next business or pleasure trip to Bangor. The house was perfectly as described, in a quiet neighborhood, yet very close to downtown. The bedrooms were painted in cheerful colors, and the beds the most comfortable of any AirBNB I’ve stayed in. Communication was top notch. There was coffee available in the morning, as well as breakfast pastries & fruit. Looking forward to my next trip to Bangor to stay here again.

Two miles from the University of Maine, Orono. A private home located on a 10-acre property, adjacent to walking, biking, and groomed cross country skiing trails. You will enjoy the privacy of the upstairs floor, 2 private bedrooms, 1 loft bedroom, and loft living room. This is an exceptionally beautiful, rustic setting; a well-appointed Maine farm house. Available seasonally for your use is an 18' above ground pool, and outdoor summer fireplace.

  • Andrea will make you feel right at home immediately we couldn’t have dreamed of a better host.

    James2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Andrea is friendly and helpful when you need the attention but knows when to give you your privacy. This is not one of those situations where the host will be overbearing all the time because the kitchen is shared. I got the impression she reads every guest carefully when they arrive and treats them accordingly. If you want to talk she will talk but if you need to get some work done on your laptop she will let you get your work done.

    Jeffrey2020-02-16T00:00:00Z

  • Andrea's place is a special find - it's such a comfortable and homey place, beautifully appointed, with lots of details/amenities to meet the needs of guests. Andrea is a wonderful host, fascinating to talk with, and goes the extra mile. She made us vegan breakfasts which she had never done before - which was much appreciated! Nero is irresistible and such a love-bug. Highly recommend staying at Andrea's!

    David2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • A stay with Andrea is like a visit to an old friend. Her home becomes your home, complete with a wonderful furry family. If you want privacy, there is a sweetly decorated loft living room with upstairs bedrooms with doors. Her space is charming and clean. She provided breakfast for us which was delicious complete with eggs from her own hens. The cream on top of it all was the fact that she put up garland and Christmas lights just because I asked her if she decorated for Christmas. Talk about above and beyond. Because our Orono performance was cancelled the evening we stayed, Andrea spent a lot of time sitting and chatting with us. We enjoyed her stories and appreciated her time!

    Sharen2019-12-13T00:00:00Z
  • Andrea is as warm as her home. We stayed with her the night before the Millinocket marathon. Her home was a welcome stop between Boston and the race. The rooms were cozy and clean. Andrea was extremely accommodating with our slightly late arrival and early morning departure. And you need to meet Nero, her dog. He is the sweetest boy in the world. We were very lucky to have such a wonderful host before our run. We could not have felt more welcome. And we can't wait to do it all again next December!

After a long day of traveling it was wonderful to walk into the house and smell the fireplace, and hear jazz music playing softly. Andre goes the extra mile to make his guests comfortable! • Andre’s place was amazing! I have used Airbnb many times in the past, but I was always skeptical to book a private room (instead of a whole house). I’m so glad that we booked with Andre. The house itself is even better than the pictures. He was extremely thoughtful in leaving amenities for his guests. The furnishings/linens were nicely done and the bed was comfortable. He was super prompt in his responses. All in, 5 stars wasn’t high enough for the review. You should definitely consider booking his place.

    Beth2019-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was a lot better than expected! Such a nice house and neighborhood that was private and quiet. The bed was like sleeping in heaven! So comfortable!!! Thank you Andre for the great stay and we can’t wait to be back in August

Maine can be wet & muddy at times; please remove your shoes. But keep in mind, the apartment has hardwood floors throughout, so take extra care on the stairs! Walk out the door for hiking & biking. The Penobscot River is right across the street. We are located 1/2 way between Mt Katahdin/Baxter State Park/Appalachian Trail & Bar Harbor/Acadia Nat. Park.
2 floors, living area & kitchen on main floor; 2 bedrooms & bathroom upstairs. The space has been completely remodeled, everything! Very comfortable, quiet with plenty of sunlight.
The neighborhood is very quiet with little traffic. You can walk, bus or drive the 1 mile to downtown Orono for dinner, 3 breweries, and occasional events.
  • Great space close to UMaine campus. Jim was a pleasurable host with just the right amount of resourceful hospitality!

    Jennie2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Charming and homey place to stay. Even though the house was shared, it was quiet and we had plenty of privacy. Although I didn’t do much cooking, the kitchen seemed fully stocked with cookware and dishes. The bagels, yogurt, and Whoopie pies were a wonderful touch.

    Becky2019-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second time staying at this wonderful little apartment. Clean and comfortable with thoughtful amenities. Jim and Gaye are very hospitable and respond in a timely fashion if needed. We would difinitely stay again.

The Cross Insurance Center, Stephen King's House, Downtown, Waterfront Concerts and Hospital are just down the road. Easy access to anywhere in Bangor.

There is plenty of parking in the paved, well kept driveway. There is a large back porch and nice back yard to enjoy during the warmer months. Stephen King's house is a mile up the road and I provide directions in the booklet. Cross Insurance Center, Hollywood Casinos, Downtown Bangor, Bangor Mall, Hospitals, Waterfront Concerts are all within a 5 minute ride. The home is within walking distance to a Pharmacy that offers beer, wine, food, bathroom & kitchen essentials that you may need or have forgotten to pack.

We loved watching movies with the fireplace going and the special treats she left out. Will definitely stay here again when we come back to Bangor!

    Ayanna2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a gem! We arrived and checked in with ease, and found the home sweetly decorated for Christmas, which was just such a nice touch! The rooms were clean, the beds were comfy, and it was close to everything. The host had a binder of useful information and guidelines, which were perfect. We had no issues at all. • Derek’s place is in a perfect location with easy check in and also check out. Derek himself was very quick to respond with questions and was super accommodating. The place is roomy, clean, with high ceilings and really funky decor. The big windows give a lot of natural light which was wonderful especially in the winter when we don’t get a lot of sun!Coffee and tea were offered which was a nice touch as well as a couple of vinyls and a record player! I would stay here again, thanks Derek!

  • If you are kind and considerate you cannot find a better place to stay than Nadene's. This was our first AirBnB stay, and what a great experience it was. We went to Bangor to visit our son at UMaine. When he graduates, I do not expect to stay with Nadene. That privilege will go to my mother and my aunt. Otherwise if we go to Bangor again I know where we'll be making reservations.

  • This is the most unique experience you will have at ARBnB. Dan is a most gracious host and has so many things for breakfast it’s like going to your very own restaurant. The grounds are amazing and Dan is the most friendly and relaxed host. Don’t miss an opportunity to stay here on your travels.

  • This Air BNB, Log cabin at Stonecrop Meadow hosted by Dan in Hampden, Maine, is a lovely log cabin in a beautiful traditional Maine setting. Dan is an excellent host making sure every detail was managed with care. The accommodations were very warm, comfortable and inviting. Dan is very knowledgeable about the area and can help make a visit there very enjoyable. I will book this lodging again when in the area.

  • Great how this place is both convenient yet remote and rustic and comfortable! It is an easy drive to the Bangor airport and to other destinations in this part of Maine, but the long dirt road to the property was my first indication that this Airbnb is nestled in a wooded area off the beaten track. There is a large meadow which was sunny and warm during my October visit, there are trails right out the back door of the cabin, there is a well stocked kitchen and cupboards filled with bathroom supplies and linens, and the queen room was warm and cozy. I slept well and woke to the sounds of the rooster, perfect!

  • Dan is a great person. His home is cozy and warm. The twin beds were much more comfortable abd suprising as I expected college form style i was wrong. I also the the property layout. His helpful little cheat sheet of the area is perfect. If you've never been and you like seafood try anglers get the pie its worth it. The chickens were a nice touch and it was absolutely beautiful there. No complaints was a great place to visit.

  • Amazing log cabin with a private garden filled with vegetables, animals and surrounded by woods. A true get a way in the woods of Maine.

    Maddy2019-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • We had a brilliant time staying with Dan! The log cabin is beautiful, well equipped, cosy, and so, so welcoming. Dan is a true gentleman, very laid back, and so gracious and considerate. The guest experience has been so throughly thought about - everything was labelled for the convenience of the guests, from kitchen cupboards, to light switches, to shelves in the linen closets where fresh, clean towels were provided on a help-yourself basis. The beds were cosy and clean, the living space snug and friendly. The garden is incredable! If you are an animal lover, then there are chickens that roam free, who will run up to you if you shake the jar of cracked corn that lives on the porch. It was a brilliant, brilliant stay! Highly recommended!

My sister, Sharry, and I offer the CharmHouse Cabin on Main; nestled on the edge of the woods off Route 1A in Hampden, Maine. You will be conveniently located close to everything, but feel as though you are comfy and cozy in the woods. There are five cabins located on Sharry’s property, four of which are occupied currently by long-term tenants. Sharry lives on the property in a 110- year- old restored farmhouse and has been lovingly bringing this 100 acre farm back to its charm of yesteryear. When this little cutie of a cabin opened up, we decided to offer it up to travelers who are looking for short-term or extended stays in the Bangor, Brewer, Hampden area. These quirky but quaint and cozy cabins were built back in the early part of 1950s as far as we know, and has provided a warm place to stay for townspeople ever since. Sharry and I are lovingly restoring them so that we can share our community with others. It would be most suited for a traveling couple or a family with one small child or infant. This cabin is 360 square feet and includes a small bathroom with shower stall, kitchen area, sitting area and bedroom. Everything you need to prepare a meal and enjoy the peace and quiet of the cabin is provided. The cabin is a year-round property with a connected and privately owned trail for snowshoeing, hiking or cross-country skiing. In summer months, a shared grill and firepit area is provided to unwind from a day trip to the coast or just gaze at the star-filled Maine evenings. Hampden is a suburb of the Bangor/Brewer area, but a has grocery, pharmacy, convenience stores and eateries. • Coleen and Michael's cottage is a great place to stay if you are looking for someplace cozy with peace and quiet. We had a delightful stay!

  • Charming cottages with lots of special touches. Communication was easy and fast and both Coleen and Sharry went out of their way to meet all our needs and to be flexible when our plans changed and we needed to add additional time. Would highly recommend this place, you will not be disappointed!

  • This place exceeding my expectations! It is definitely small but perfect for one or two people. I loved the cozy, thoughtful touches. Sharry stopped by to welcome me in person and gave me so many fantastic recommendations for local food! This place is comfortable and it was the perfect place to unwind after a long day of traveling for work. Would absolutely stay here again!

  • What a gift you will give yourself if you stay here. I stayed in cabin #2 which was like being transported to a cottage in the French countryside. The decorations are so beautiful, and it is so cozy. They have truly thought of everything here. You are greeted by a binder with all of the information about the farmhouse, the local atmosphere, and “things to do” in Bangor list. The WiFi password is on an adorable little board that’s right within view, the keys are hanging right where they said they’d be, there was a welcome sign with my name on it, chocolates and clean linens waiting, and a cozy fireplace welcoming me to my weekend home. It was absolutely a dream. I love to snowshoe, so there’s ample place for that. The area is quiet is serene, which was perfect for me, as a writer. It was just the best location, with the most thoughtful hosts, at a price that made me feel like a thief. Do yourself a favor, even if you’re local to Bangor, stay here. Be transported by the magic of this little cabin.

  • This was our very first AirBnB stay and it was a pleasure. The home was very cozy, well stocked with everything you could possibly need and it's location was great! There was a map on the fridge of the downtown area that was a very nice touch as well. I have been spending more time in Bangor lately and I am looking forward to using Leah's place again!
