Great house. Exactly as described & pictured. Plenty of space. Great for families. We stayed with a toddler & infant. All the extras were appreciated. Crib, high chair, blocks, breakfast, Keurig in refrigerator door. So many extra amenities.

This house was amazing! Everything you need to stay and super close to so many good things. It was clean and had so many fun things to do! Would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone.

From the moment I walked in my jaw was on the floor. We were greeted by the beautiful lake through the giant windows and upbeat throw back music. My partner and I did a little dance while we put down our bags and it was honestly magical. I don’t remember the last time we busted a move like that. We explored the house and it was like being a little kid again. The little loft stole our attention and we were delighted by the singing bowl and the cushion set up, we both felt like it was a perfect spot to meditate. We were pleasantly surprised by the amount of kitchen supplies, there was literally everything you could possibly need in the kitchen and fridge. The whole space was incredibly clean and that was very important for me because I’m a clean freak. The jacuzzi was PERFECT. There were shades for privacy and the view was incredible. Oh and the bed? SO COMFORTABLE!! I’ve never been on a sleep number bed, and I am now very interested in getting one for myself. This trip was perfect. I was a little concerned about being so close to the road, but I didn’t hear much traffic at all. The noise machine next to the bed was a great touch. I am super impressed with this place and all the little touches from Lori (chocolate on the pillows, checking in, she even brought us fresh robes!) were nothing short of excellent. Thank you Lori!!!!

Lori is an OUTSTANDING hostess. She went above and beyond with really cute and exciting touches that made our anniversary so special! She was fantastic with communication, made us feel so welcome, and the cabin was phenomenal. Clean, extremely well organized, stocked up with games and smore supplies for the fireplace - the hot tub was our very favorite in the super cold weather! Lori let us stay an extra few hours on Sunday and it just made the whole trip that much sweeter!! Airbnb should offer a 10 star option just for Lori and Rick’s gem. My wife and I have stayed here four times in two years and we’re busy planning our next stay. It’s been long weekends so far, but this June we will be there an entire week! The location is fantastic and this little house is full of warmth in every meaning of the word. You’re always at home and made to feel welcome in the Guesthouse on Schoolhouse Lake. There’s something so very special about it and we can’t wait to keep coming back for years. It’s the destination we daydream about. If you have a chance to book this place, don’t hesitate. It’s spectacular in every season of the year. A slice of heaven!

Lori went above and beyond to make our stay special! The place is so cozy and cute. Lori has thought of every detail and we immediately felt comfortable and at home at the cottage. It was the perfect winter getaway - we LOVED the fireplace and the hot tub while it snowed. We had an incredible, relaxing weekend and hope to come back soon!

It is beyond what you can expect based on these pictures. At first view, we were a little confused but the inside speaks loudly. The touch of detail is what my partner and I lived for. After all it is the small things in life that we love the most. Lori & Rick are exceptional hosts, helping us set the curtains on their amazing hot tub (ready to use ANYTIME), and bringing us waffle mix. There aren't enough words or time in the world to express what we felt laying down on the beds to the lake view snuggled in the blankets. Enjoying the warm fire for a game of Monopoly. This was the perfect getaway for us. We do recommend ordering Tropical Smoothies on top of the restaurant suggestions notes on the fridge! Super yummy.

It is a small place but a cozy one! I love how the host decorated the place such as having different books for visitors to read, coffee for us to make, and just a lot of little things that make the place feel like home. I would recommend this place to anyone and I also like how the host put the check-out directions on the fridge and how easy they were to follow. I could see myself staying here again in the future.

I’m going to be honest. This was my first time getting an air b&b and she was the best host I could ask for. She let me and my friends be and enjoy our time there. We didn’t spend the whole night there but for the couple hours spent it was a night to remember. I really valued her help.

Jerilynn is very fast at replying she is a very nice host got the nba all star weekend festivities for me her place is spacious lots of parking and you can get a hold of her very quick if needed

We stayed in Jerilynn’s place over the Christmas holiday 2019. The unit was very clean and as pictured and described. It’s across from the lake, and within walking distance to another public lake, park and lake bar so although we did not get to use it in December it would be a great place in the summer. The neighborhood is pretty quiet yet the rest of busy Novi is only a mile away and very accessible. The unit is the full basement of a family home with a private entry and your own parking lot, so offers privacy. You do hear a bit of moving around upstairs but not more than you would at a hotel or apartment with tenants above. Jerilynn was easy to communicate with and very responsive. We found her place of good value for the size. We would stay again when visiting Novi, and preferably in the summer so we could use the lake!

Would recommend this place to anyone looking to stay in Michigan.

I stayed at Maureen’s for one month and had a great stay! I loved how comfy the bed was and of course, loved the cats! I had a lot of great conversations with Maureen and her son. Sharing the bathroom was never an issue. The house was pretty quiet and clean. It was nice parking in the driveway so I didn’t need to worry about parking on the street. The value is good both for a long term or a short term stay! Thank you, Maureen!

This place is hands down the best place we have stayed at since AirBnB has been a thing. They had notes on every part of the house explaining what was inside each drawer and even how to get to the rental. The rental itself was clean, cozy and relaxing. Being able to have our own separate a/c was huge for us since we like it cold when we sleep. Mark even came up on Thanksgiving morning to bring me and my husband cinnamon rolls. The location of the house was perfect for us, right down the street from the mall and close to family. Overall our stay was comfortable and worthwhile. If you ever need a place to stay, this will always be my recommendation.

Stayed here for a week when I flew in for a surgery. Very cozy place. Great because it has a handrail in the shower and 2 reclining chairs- one regular and another that's remote-controlled to any position. It could also heat up. I loved it. Rhonda was great with communication and very attentive.

I’m a medical student and was only visiting for an elective. Scott has been really helpful in arranging my stay. The house has everything you need, from hangers for your clothes to linens and towels. Fully furnished, 5 mins drive to Pontiac general hospital. 30 mins walk. Would definitely recommend to other students. Thank you Scott.

Rick was a fantastic host! He came in all the time to make sure his tenants were happy and to ask if we needed anything. The house had full kitchen with stove, oven, microwave, 5 refrigerators, freezer, toaster and toaster oven. There was a laundry room with washer and dryer included in the price of stay. Internet was included and worked fast. There was always hot water, electricity was also included. There were paper towels, hand soap, bath towels, toilet paper, napkins and dish washing liquid. A very nice lady, who is the property manager, lived on the first floor and she cleaned and tidied everything every evening. She threw out garbage, put away everything in the kitchen and distributed mail. The place was a historical building with amazing living room and family room, 3 bathrooms and many bedrooms for the tenants. All tenants were great people, very nice and respectful , and I made some good friends. I felt welcomed and would stay there again on my next trip. I highly recommend Rick and his house!

Rick is an awesome host. I went through Mclaren Oakland and stayed in the smaller room. If I had more time to stay at home, maybe the smaller room would have bothered me but when you’re constantly out and working, it was perfect. AC kept the place constantly cool and Rick was always available to answer questions.

My month in Pontiac was amazing, largely due to Rick's hospitality. He goes the extra mile and that's less in keeping with Airbnb host in him and more the person that he is. Interesting, lively and full of energy, his company uplifts and puts a smile on your face. The room itself was comfortable and I had no complaints whatsoever, though, I imagine if I did, they'd be taken care of promptly. The house is located fairly close to a bunch of eating joints, and restaurants and bars which I discovered relatively late in my stay. I strongly recommend you live here if you're coming to Pontiac

Pat and Rick have a wonderful place. The place is very cozy, nice neighborhood, and very affordable. Rick was very helpful, and goes out of the way to accommodate. He helped me out with handing my car keys to the transport company after I left. On the whole, I enjoyed the stay there, and I would not think twice to go there again.

I had read a terrible review from a previous tenant about the cleanliness and some confrontation. To avoid from having the same experience I requested to visit the place before I made the reservation. Shengnan and her husband were very nice people who were more than accommodating to allow me to visit the BNB. Shengnan responded to every one of my questions within an hour and was a pleasant person to interact with. Don't let that terribly long dramatic review persuade you against staying here. Shengnan was willing to work with my budget and schedule. Being that this was a budget stay that speaks VOLUMES! The area is close to banks and grocery stores and quite close to automotive. Considering it is winter the fact that she kept the home warm and cozy made a difference, and was exactly what I needed to be able to get rest. She was not only helpful but installed the carbon -monoxide detector immediately! When there was a concern with anything I was able to reach to message her and she sent Mike over to take care of it! In short I was fortunate to be able to stay here and I would stay here again! :~D

Shengnan was amazing at communicating. I had issues at customs and she was more than helpful at accommodating my needs. She waited until I crossed the customs to book the listing which eased my worries. The check in process was easy. The room was clean and she was very quick at resolving any concerns. I met her and her husband, both very nice people and took care of my needs. Her husband came to fixed the lighting issue in my room the very next day. The place is close to Starbucks and other fast food restaurant which made the stay even better. Nice driveway to park your vehicle. Highly recommend it.

It is a very comfortable place to stay with all basic and additional amenities like wifi, washer, dryer included in the price. Less than 10 mins from FCA, 2 mins to pizza places and other take outs. Shengnan is very prompt and replies literally within a minute. You only have to bring your personal belongings and other things are provided in the rooms. I will recommend staying here as I extended my stay by 2 weeks!

A very comfortable place to stay. I extended my stay by 2 weeks! Less than 10 mins from FCA, 5 mins to restaurants and 5-10 mins from grocery store. Shengnan is very good host and promptly replies back literally within a minute. The place is well kept and warm and you get to park right outside the house. Highly recommend!

Easy to Go - Simple - Efficient

Great place to stay! Safe neighborhood and there were korean restaurants within 5 min so I felt at home. The owners have the most adorable dog. It may take a day for him to get used to you but you become buddies with the dog!

Rick was an amazing host. The communication was excellent. The place is clean and the other residents respect each others things and space. Great spot if you’re working at St Joseph Mercy Oakland Hospital. Only a 5 minute drive and easy access to bus if you don’t have a car. I would definitely recommend.

Clean, cozy, comfortable room in a neat restored Victorian home. Kind of like a dorm, where you get to meet and interact with other guests. Rick was incredibly helpful in giving me information and introducing me to people in the area who could help me learn about the local real estate and development. I learned a lot and enjoyed my stay. Simple accommodations. Rick is a very generous host. The picture of the kitchen is not the kitchen guests use.

Rick is the best person you can meet. It’s a wonderful place, clean. It feels to be at home. Rick helps you in everything you need and he is always available. Highly recommended. I stayed four months. If I have to come back to Michigan for sure I will stay again in Rick’s house.

The place was extremly safe and clean than I expected. Their warm welcome makes you feel like you are staying at home. Host adddress any concern and makes you feel comfortable. Well managed placed with great location. I will definately reccomend people to stay at this place. Thank you for the wonderful stay.

Had a great stay here. We were in for a short stay due to a death in the family. The home was very warm and welcoming. Brenda was an amazing host and communication was fabulous. The dogs are super cute and friendly. Overall a very wonderful stay that I will be adding to my favorites for next trip up here.

I stayed over due to the closeness to work. Brenda and Adam are really nice hosts, the space is very clean and roomy, it is a really good place to stay.

Brenda and Adam felt like old friends, they’re both very open and welcoming! They have two of the sweetest dogs, very friendly and well-trained. They placed a gate at the stairway to prevent the dogs from coming upstairs where guest stay. Also, they were willing to put them away if we wanted. However, we love dogs so it was no problem. We were allowed full access to their kitchen and kitchen appliances which made our stay even more accommodating! Both Adam and Brenda were very kind, they really took the time to get to know us and made us feel at home. Although they both had work, they made themselves readily available, they even blocked out an extra day for us to stay which was above and beyond ! Also, their “smart” house made it so that we didn’t need them, down to their “smart loc system” which made it easy and safe to come and go as we pleased! I absolutely recommend them as hosts, Kevin and I look forward to staying again!

Brenda and Adam have a lovely, welcoming set-up and the location was ideal for me: out of the largest suburbs, but close enough to get back for the day. Proud Lake park is also gorgeous and I could have spent a whole day hiking there. I got to meet the hosts and had lovely conversations with them, and I hope you get the chance to meet them, too! I will definitely try and stay again next time I'm in the area.
