  • I have stayed at many places with Air bnb and Judith is the nicest host I’ve ever met. She warm, caring and attentive-even letting us use her coat when we forgot one of ours. She also offered to help if our car got stuck. The property is lovely and the scenery is amazing. I can not recommend this cottage enough.

  • Overall a lovely place, newly renovated. Moderate sized place but equipped with everything you need, including a kitchen with frying pan, cutleries and even fresh milk in the fridge. The view right out from the windows is amazing along with the breath taking hiking trails around as well. Privacy is respected if needed, but Judith is really approachable as well!

    Kinchung2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • The location is amazing! So many walks and hikes around the area, and the view is incredible. Judith was quick to respond to queries, and quick to sort out any issues. Everything in the property is well equipped, and new. The bed was huge and very comfortable.

  • First ones to stay in this beautiful place! And it was a wonderful stay away. Lovely lake views, coffee/tea/milk ready for our arrival, full equipped kitchen, massive bed and just a nice private granny flat. Judith met us on our arrival, provided us with extra utensils when asked and recommended a great pub. We would happily stay again!

The End Place is a self-contained cottage adjoining Moorhouse Cottage B&B. Downstairs is open plan, comprising a fully equipped kitchen and a living area with wood burning stove. A glass wall ensures uninterrupted views across Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, as well as starry-night skyscapes. Upstairs opens out into a magical, fairy-lit, vaulted bedroom with a king size brass bed adorned with crisp White Company linen and includes en suite with shower.
The End Place is part of a collection of buildings that were added to an 18th century worker's cottage over the course of a little more than a hundred years and now comprise Moorhouse Cottage. The recent conversion for use as accommodation has retained or re-used original features wherever possible, while ensuring modern standards of comfort. Surrounded by rugged moor and hill-farm land, it's an ideal place to get away from it all, while still having excellent access to local attractions such as Fountains Abbey, The Yorkshire Dales National Park and Brimham Rocks, which marks the far horizon when looking out from the front of the house.
Just down the hill is Pateley Bridge (Great British High Street Awards, village winner - 2016), where you can stock up on award winning homemade pies, bread and cake, or wet your whistle in one of the local pubs. Or, if you prefer, a short walk directly from our door along the Bewerley Industrial Heritage Trail brings you to Coldstones Cut, where you can explore Yorkshire’s highest public sculpture, created by Andrew Sabin, overlooking a working Quarry and with spectacular views over Nidderdale and the landscape beyond. Finish your walk by tasting the delights on offer at Toft Gate Barn Cafe, with delicious homemade dishes and a warm Yorkshire welcome from Caroline and Chris. Or simply relax and enjoy the antics of the alpacas and other animals on this unique and quirky small holding. Within 30 minutes you could be enjoying the delights of the spar town of Harrogate, the cathedral town of Ripon, or Ilkley with its own literary and film festivals. Fountain’s Abbey (a World Heritage Site), Brimham Rocks and Stump Cross Caverns are also a must. Or simply get on your bike (this is the land of the Tour de Yorkshire) or put on your walking boots and explore the outstanding beauty of the Dales.
  • Me and my partner had the best long weekend here, from feeding the sheep and alpaca’s to walking around the beautiful reservoirs near by. The end place is a beautiful clean and thoughtfully modernised get away with everything you could need for a comfortable and really memorable stay. Really hope to return again soon!

    James2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful and relaxing place to be! Loved every minute.

    Ashley2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful few nights staying at The End Place. We felt really lucky to see it in the snow - it felt magical! The animals are a delight, we loved putting the ducks to bed and opening the door to their little house each morning, plus we loved feeding Al & Paco (the two alpacas!) carrots. The position of The End Place is absolutely beautiful and it really is the perfect cottage to retreat to after a day's walking in the dales. The welcome hamper was so thoughtful and Jules even made us a cup of tea when we arrived with fruit cake and Wensleydale (a Yorkshire classic!). We will definitely be back again soon :)

    Emma2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • My second visit to The End Place. Such a great place to step off from the busyness of the world, hunker down, watch the natural world from your window, read books and rest. Highly recommended. You can also feed alapaca 😀

    Claire2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • If you're looking for a quiet escape in an amazing hidden corner of the Dales, get yourself down to The End Place. You'll be greeted every morning by ducks and chickens and there's even a good chance to feed Alpacas and sheep. What's not to like? If you want to explore or just spend a whole weekend cooped up inside, you won't regret it. The hosts are amazing and very friendly and will make you feel at home from the moment you arrive to the second you leave.

    Alejandro2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Well what can I say, what an unbelievable experience me and my partner had staying here! It's such a little gem! We stayed for a week for our 2 year anniversary and it was perfect. The end place was absolutely spotless with great thoughtful touches, the welcome basket with bread, eggs, fruit cake, tea, coffee and jam to even having dressing gowns and wellies for you to wear. The different areas to explore around the area are great such as coldstones cut, brimham rocks, malham cove and many more! The hosts gave us so much information about different walks in the area, cafes/restaurants and places to visit! We couldn't of wished for more, absolutely perfect hosts! The end place is gorgeous, I would recommend this place to anyone! Thank you again Trevor and Jules! Hopefully we'll be back soon!

    Natalie2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • The End Place was exactly what we needed - some peace and quiet to recharge but also an excellent base for exploring the area. The cottage is cosy with a fantastic view over the valley and surrounding Dales. Jules and Trevor were brilliant hosts, providing tips on local places to visit and the friendliest neighbours we could ask for. A particular highlight of our stay was feeding and getting to know the alpacas, ducks, chickens and sheep. We will be back!

    Naina2020-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to relax and unwind in an off the beaten track location, but only three miles to walk or drive to Pateley Bridge for shops or pubs. Lovely to have the addition of Al & Paca the Alpacas to feed carrots to in the mornings, along with the ducks and chickens. Jules & Trevor are lovely hosts if you need anything. The addition of bread, eggs, milk, butter and cake is a lovely thought. We’ll be back soon.

  • The pictures really don’t do this beautiful home justice - it really is a stunning location! The legendary Yorke Arms is also only a stones throw away, which is a bonus. Judith was an attentive, and thoughtful host, with whom I would definitely have dealings with in the future.

  • Superb place, homely lovely accomadation. Would definately stay again.

    Joanne2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic stay. Lovely barn with amazing views. 10 of us stayed at the barn and there was more than enough space. The photos don’t do the barn justice as to how big it really is. The kitchen and living room were fantastic to socialise all together. Judith was a great host with excellent communication and also informing us about the local area and places we could eat. Lovely relaxing stay!

    Kayleigh2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Judith was a great host, communication was clear from the start, the house was clean and any issues we had during the stay were tackled immediately. The best part of the stay was the help we received from our hosts during the holiday. They drove some of our party into the local village to meet us in the pub and were on hand to offer tips and advice for making the most of our trip.

    Christopher2019-12-24T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful views and great communal spaces

  • Six adults and 2 dogs had a lovely long weekend in Swallow Barn. The views are amazing! Judith was very speedy to respond to any queries and the barn had lovely touches including Christmas decorations and biscuits for the dogs. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to cook dinner for us all. The area is beautiful with lovely walks. A very chilled weekend had by all, would recommend to others!

Perfect for getting away from it all, very remote but with door step deliveries and WiFi on tap. No contact with host needed. All bedding, towels etc sterilised between guests. This beautiful stone cottage looks directly down the Dale all the way to the stunning Gouthwaith reservoir. Styled to a modern specification but with a classic accent, you are sure to feel comfy and at home as soon as you arrive. A true rural retreat, with a range of walks on your door step.
Tucked in behind our house, you have your own drive, charge point and access. We are very rural, but there are two pubs a 10 to 15 minutes walk away and we can have a meal ready if desired.

There is an internal staircase and the outside steps aren't really used. Local maps were available to borrow and there were many other nice small touches. Tiplady is a small farm with great views and a place where everything is just a little quirky. The Highland Hideaway is a traditional shepherd's hut set by a stream in a small wooded valley. The hut is cosy with a wood burning stove and has a small sitting out area . The toilets and showers are adjacent to the hut and there is a handy fridge, in a telephone box, just outside. Located close to the Nidderdale Way, Tiplady Farm is perfect for walkers and cyclists or simply somewhere to escape to
Most of our guests agree that Tiplady is different, most important of course is a warm welcome and friendly owners willing to help out with local knowledge of places to visit and where to eat. On top of that we love unusual stuff such as our sheep's head carved from an old tree stump, vintage signs and and old Shell petrol pump to light your way. Usually there are a few old cars, lorries or motorbikes around the place and if you like rare breeds, we have Highland cattle and Herdwick sheep (both Viking breeds). You are also welcome to meet with our working horses if time permits. To help you enjoy your break, you have a choice of places to prepare food on site, there's a barbecue area by the Victorian waterwheel, a hilltop shelter with stunning views and a fire pit or there are plenty of amazing places to eat locally. We provide basic firewood for the hut and for a small charge a BBQ, camping gas stove or a fuel efficient rocket stove to cook on. In winter months it is advisable to bring wellies and a torch. Being remote, Tiplady is a pretty safe place but if you'd like, we can lock your bikes, canoes or pretty much anything else up in one of our barns.
We are in the heart of Nidderdale so plenty of walking and cycling routes. Close by you have Brimham rocks and Fountains Abbey both of which are National trust sites. Within driving distance you have Ripon, Harrogate, York, Skipton and Grassington. Pateley Bridge is only a mile away and has a variety of shops meaning you can pick up all the supplies you need. Why not have a visit to the Oldest Sweet shop whilst you are here.
  • What an unusual little getaway. Perfect for our short stay, love the fridge location :-) lovely underfloor heating in shower block.

    Neil2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Superb getaway even if the weather was horrendous. The location never lost its charm. The fire place was spot on especially for the winter nights. The hosts were very welcoming and allowed us to easily go about our business but, were always on hand to help if needed.

    David2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place to stay to get away from busy life! Very cosy shepherds hut, lovely when the log burner is going! Brilliant and friendly hosts, we loved the friendly cats and dogs too!

    Ellie2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at TipLady Farm! Everyone was so friendly and welcoming and could not do enough for us. The location is stunning and we needed a break to get away and clear our minds - if this is you, book it! You will not regret it. It is so dog friendly and our little dog even made friends with the puppy on the farm :) we will definitely be back!

    Molly2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • The shepherd's hut was just what we needed to get away from it all and enjoy the countryside. Gracious hosts, friendly animals, cosy fire and stunning scenery - perfect!

    Libby2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • The shepherd's hut is a lovely space in a wonderful farm setting - almost like a small village. We had a great time here, and enjoyed playing with the friendly cats in particular.

    Andy2019-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • Gorgeous location and hut even in November rain! We got shown the vintage motorbikes and the restored circus wagon and we're given lots of useful information for getting around. Thoughtful touches like a set of fairylights tucked in with the cutlery helped me make a birthday surprise that much better. We walked to brimham rocks and then to the pub, was ideal!

    Emily2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • This was one of the best air bnb’s we have stayed in, we’d highly reccomend it. An absolute highlight was our warm welcome from Kim, Emma’s Dad. We loved his passion and how they had loving created and restored the farm and the many types of accommodation. Kim brought the history alive for us by kindly showing us round. there is beautiful blend between the modern and old across the farm. It’s very tasteful, with plenty of thoughtful touches. It’s also immaculate, but not to the point that you can’t relax. The setting is idyllic with beautiful views. The hut itself felt private (although we were the only ones staying) but still close to the facilities, which again were good quality and well maintained (lovely hot showers). The hut had everything you needed and you could get pots, pans, water carriers. We stayed when it was cold which we loved because it was so cosy with the wood burner. It’s walking distance to Pately bridge so you can have a pint after a beautiful walk and not have to worry about driving back (although definitely take a head torch to help you find your way back in the dark). We’d recommend the crown pub for food and friendly staff. The place is a definite 5 stars, it goes above and beyond as Kim and family have thought of everything; nice place to sit with lovely views, places to be cosy, different ways to cook and fairy lights. It’s a real treat. It manages to be luxurious at the same time as feeling part of a working farm with a range of friendly and beautiful animals to meet and see. Thank you so much Kim we’ll definitely be back.

Folly View is a spacious one bedroom flat with a light and airy aspect. From the lounge, large windows provide views in all directions and double doors lead to a south facing balcony from where you can see the folly, Two Stoopes. There are many scenic walks from the back door and biking of all types is popular in this area. The town of Pateley Bridge with all its amenities is a ten minute walk. Folly View is decorated and furnished to a high standard and is an ideal place to escape and relax.
Folly View is one of five properties that surround a spacious courtyard. It is the only holiday home and next door to the owner's property. Holly Court was the original stable block and workshops for the Bewerley Hall Estate. It is a historically significant, characterful and charming place to stay and it enjoys fabulous views, a sense of space and off street parking. It has a dish washer and washing machine, central heating, a wood burning stove and Freeview and internet tv - ideal for a longer stay.
Folly View is in an historic area with the 14th Century Bewerley Chapel next door and other estate houses in close proximity. It has a rural feel to it but the vibrant, small town of Pateley Bridge is five minutes walk and Harrogate just a 25 minute drive. Nidderdale is within an AONB and full of possibilities for visits and exploration of every kind. We are very close to the Way of the Roses cycle route and the 53 mile Nidderdale Way passes by at the top of the lane. Favourite visits include Howe Stean Gorge, Toft Gate cafe, Brimham Rocks, Fountains Abbey and Stump Cross Caverns.
  • Lovely, cosy apartment. It was really clean, the log fire was a nice touch. Helpful tips on where to eat from the host too. We would 100% visit again as we enjoyed our stay and highly recommend others to stay.

  • The flat was lovely and clean. My toddler loved looking out the big windows and it was a very safe and clean environment which meant we were able to relax too! It's a beautiful location and despite the February storms we were able to get out and explore the area between rain showers.

  • Great place, lovely and tranquil. My wife, baby and I stayed there for a mini break and it was perfect! Very spacious for a one bed, really peaceful location and everything about the accommodation was spot on, including powerful shower, smart TV, well quipped, comfy bed, etc. Loved the log burner - Made the place super warm! Thank you.

  • Amazing home, really enjoyed our short stay. Would definatly recommend and would love to stay again. Thankyou!

  • This was a wonderful place to stay for a short break of five nights. The flat was clean to an impeccable standard, well furnished, stylishly decorated, and in a great location for exploring North Yorkshire. The balcony view was an amazing bonus, especially with my morning coffee! As well as lovely local walks, some of the best sites and scenes of the Dales were within easy driving distance. I really appreciated the nice balance between having my own space while also knowing that Quentin was literally just next door if I needed him. Quentin was able to greet me at arrival, and I also said farewell the night before my departure. On both occasions, he was very friendly and welcoming, and my text interactions with him always received speedy and warm responses. I cannot recommend Folly View highly enough. Thanks again, Quentin!

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The place is warm and cosy with way more space than we expected. The place is spotlessly clean, the shower is fabulous and the location is brilliant. Quentin was a pleasure to communicate with. We would definitely return.

  • An enjoyable overnight stay and walk. The appartment was comfortable and very clean. I would stay again.

The Artists Studio is in the picturesque village of Ramsgill in rural Nidderdale. It is on the Nidderdale Way and a half way point for The Six Dales Trail and a popular area for cyclists, birdwatchers and artists. There are four pubs within a four mile radius including the Michelin starred Yorke Arms. You will love the location, nestled in a valley right next to Gouthwaite Reservoir, with stunning views, peace and tranquility. Our Studio is ideal for couples or families with two children.
The Artists Studio is a cedar built chalet, built in the 1960's as my great uncles art studio. It is situated in my mums garden, with its own private access and is completely detached and self contained. It is a unique space and has been used and loved by our family as a holiday cottage for years.... consequently our belongings are there but there is plenty of space for yours too! The Studio comprises of one big family room with beds that can me made as a double or twin singles and bunk beds. The bunks are 6 foot so we can accommodate 4 adults. There is a huge picture window which looks out onto Ramsgill Beck which you can hear from the studio and the dining table makes the most of this view. In the same room is a dressing table, sofa, chair and fire and TV. The book shelves are crammed with books and there is a kids toy drawer. I provide a breakfast tray on your arrival. Usually this will have bacon, eggs, a home baked loaf, juice, milk, butter and home made jam. A vegetarian or vegan breakfast can also be provided. There will be a tasty sweet treat too! At the front of the studio there is a large conservatory/garden room with sofa, chairs and dining area. The kitchen includes a small two ring gas cooker with grill and small oven, fridge, toaster, kettle, microwave and all the usual crockery, pans and utensils Bathroom with bath, toilet and basin. Ironing board and iron. There is access to the garden which includes a long path running down the beck to a bird watching hut, where the Ramsgill Beck meets the River Nidd. We request that guests use the garden with respect and consider the host. Wifi is available, although not completely reliable. Phone signal can also be a bit intermittent depending on your provider. There is 4G.
Ramsgill is in an AONB. Nidderdale is often described as a hidden gem as it is much quieter than some of the other dales. I'm a keen walker so I can tell you about some of the amazing walks in this area and the best places to visit to experience the countryside and views.
  • Sarah's place is a lovely retreat with a beautiful views for everyone who is looking for peace and tranquility. The studio is lovely decorated, hast a truly artistic touch and warm bread made by the host makes one feel like home.

    Magdalena2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • If like me you love the the quirky and charming then look no farther, Sarah's studio is the antidote to soulless chain hotels (unless you actually like soulless chain hotels). It's a fascinating space filled with a life time of memory's, pictures, paintings, books and games. Sarah herself is an excellent host, even when I mentioned the V word (Vegan) she wasn't put out in the slightest. She made a loaf of bread and flapjacks for us herself and laid on an excellent breakfast all of which we could eat and not once did we have to explain that fish is not a vegetable. The setting next to the brook is fantastic with a lovely walk down to a summer house where you can watch the local bird life. Great pub's abound in the locality and of course Nidderdale is a walkers paradise. Can't recommend highly enough, would definitely go back.

    Paul2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic, quirky place. Wonderful personal touches with home made bread and brownies. The Studio was clean, warm and welcoming. The surrounding houses, garden are beautifully kept. This was a very relaxing stay in wonderful surroundings.

    Dominique2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had a really lovely time staying in Ramsgill. We used it as a base to split a long circular walk that otherwise our children wouldn't have been able to manage. The house is full of books and games which made our evening really fun. The setting is very tranquil. Sarah is an absolutely wonderful host -- really kind and thoughtful. She provided some homemade bread and cakes, which were absolutely delicious, and the ingredients for us to cook ourselves a terrific breakfast! What a treat. Thank you so much!

    Beth2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay in this charming studio. It was a privilege to stay in a place that was obviously very personal to the family but was also so welcoming and interesting for a visitor (because of the artwork on the walls along with other individual touches). The location was perfect and hearing the sounds of the stream run past the window at night was a personal highlight as was the lovely track by the side of the stream and the view across the reservoir at the end of the track. Hospitality great.

    Vanessa2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah's home is lovely and in a beautiful location that is perfect for hiking and cycling. Sarah and her mum were really welcoming and gave us great advice about the best way to explore the area. Hope to be back soon!

    Ellen2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic stay at the Artists Studio. Sarah and Sue were bit extremely welcoming and the breakfast (including homemade bread!!) was fantastic. The space is quirky, homely, spotless and with a lovely view. We just wish we could’ve stayed longer than one night as there is a lovely walk along the river from the property. We’ll hopefully be back!

    Rhiannon2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah is the definition of a super host. The house was an amazing snap shot of time, untouched for years and full of fascinating things everywhere the eye falls. Sarah has baked us some gorgeous nibbles and a super tasty leaf of bread too. We watched the michelin star chefs picking herbs out of their garden from our window and we skimmed stones and paddled in the river on the doorstep. Thank you, there is no one I wouldn't recommend this place to

  • Neil's place is well located for a relaxing retreat to the Yorkshire countryside, with excellent views and nearby walks. It's also walking distance to some lovely pubs and a short drive from many beautiful attractions. The place itself was warm and cosy with everything we needed. Would recommend!

  • A repeat visit which tells its own tale. A great little place that's really well equipped and ideal for a few days away. We will be back (again)

  • My partner and had booked to stay from the 20th - 22nd, the drive up to Fox Garth is beautiful in itself, but when we arrived it was better than expected, the photos of the property are lovely but it doesn’t do it justice, it’s beautiful. We had a few minor issues which Neil sorted within a few hours which was amazing, Neil also let us stay another night and he went above and beyond sorting that out for us, and for that we can’t thank him enough. We will 100% be back to Fox Garth in the future and we will be recommending it to our friends/family!

    Rianne2020-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing little place in such a perfect location for exploring the Dales. We went to Malham, which was about 50 minutes in the car. Brimham which is less than 15 minutes by car. Stopped off at Knaresborough on the way up which was 30 minutes away. Popped into Pateley Bridge for dinner one night and to Summerbridge the other, again not far at all. Lots of space and it felt like a home away from home. The kitchen having all the appliances was super handy if you needed them. Having access to Sky was fab for the evenings after our busy days and the TV in the bedroom was really cool. I'll definitely bare Fox Garth in mind if we're back up this way and will recommend to others!

    Rachael2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a true gem! The house is located right on the River Nidd and has stunning views. You can access the Nidderdale path just a couple of minutes from the place. The facilities were fantastic. It was very modern but so separate from everyone it felt like a great private getaway.

    Jade2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • As the first guests at Fox Garth, I think we found an absolute belter! The directions to find it are clear as a bell and it's a really well-equipped place in an amazingly quiet location. The view from the terrace is superb and it made for a fantastic couple of nights away of peace and quiet - loved it so much that we've booked to go back twice again! Neils help went above and beyond as well - thank you.

Great holiday home for budget conscious families and small groups who are happy to bring their own bedding (quilts and pillows provided) . Lofthouse is a quiet village location in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales with STUNNING country views front and back. Ideal for walkers/cyclists/bird watchers and anybody who loves the outdoors. Why camp when you can hire this entire house! A cracking country pub with good reasonably priced food is a 2 min walk round the corner. Howstean Gorge 20 mins walk.
BEFORE BOOKING PLEASE NOTE: Due non provision of bedding this property is not suitable for groups who are transiting to other destinations. This is an affordable holiday destination for people who wish to enjoy the Yorkshire dales. It is also not suitable for groups of people who want to party as it is a semi-detached property with neighbors on both sides. Nidd View is a great great property that is bigger than it looks. The entrance is through the conservatory which is a great extra space for bags/boots/coats/dogs/bikes and kids! This is also a very bright and sunny space for relaxing at the bistro table and enjoying the views front and back. N.B. Bikes can be stored securely in the conservatory as well. The house and kitchen is a 1990's show piece complete with windmill tiles!! However, it is spacious, well equipped and great for self catering. Tea and coffee is supplied along with complimentary condiments. There is a BBQ outside also. The lounge is cosy with an open fire, a supply of logs (but not coal) and there is also oil fired central heating and a small electric heater if required. There is a TV and Digi box, DVD player with variety of films, a vintage Play station games console and a variety of board games and books. There are also maps for walking and information about the area and things to do. The sofa bed in the lounge can accommodate one extra person if required. Upstairs there are 3 good sized bedrooms. The master has twin beds pushed together to make a Super King Double and there are spacious fitted wardrobes with hangers. This can also be used as a twin room. The second double room also has twin beds which again can be pushed together to make a double bed. The third room has bunk beds with an occasional mattress underneath. There is also a travel cot and bed guard. Quilts and pillows are provided in abundance in under bed storage and in the wardrobe. There are 2 double duvets , 2 king size duvets, 3 single duvets and 8 pillows. Each bed has a mattress protector. However to keep prices competitive we do not supply sheets/pillowcases or quilt covers. We ask guests to bring their own bedding/towels and tea towels please. Large flat sheets for a super kingsize or single sheets are recommended. ( There are some emergency spares if required!) Alternatively guests may wish to bring sleeping bags. We can provide bedding for an additional charge if you let me know. Please note: We charge only a small additional cleaning charge, again to keep the price for guests as low as possible. However, we do rely on guests to leave the property as clean as possible. In particular the kitchen, bathrooms and second toilet. Guests with a dog are kindly asked to vacuum the carpets to remove dog hairs before leaving. The bathroom upstairs has a toilet, bath and mixer shower and there is a cloak room down stairs. N.B the bath/ shower is of the mixer variety. There is ample hot water stored in the cylinder and also an immersion heater as backup. The switch for this on the kitchen wall- please remember to switch off if used. There is a drive with parking for one vehicle, on street parking and a small car park opposite. (Please do not park on grass in garden). There are gardens front and rear which can be made secure with gates for children and dogs. There is also a children's play area over the road. DOGS We do accept dogs but would please ask dog owners to be mindful of dog hairs on the carpets. It is not always easy for the cleaner to see them all. If you have a dog please could you ensure before leaving that dog hairs have been vacuumed up. Many thanks!
Lofthouse is a peaceful and relaxing little Yorkshire Dales village which is ideally located in Upper Nidderdale and designated an area of outstanding natural beauty (AONB). The house has fantastic walks and views straight from the front door - no need to drive. This is a perfect little bolthole to get away from it all. Enjoy the fresh air and scenery of the Dales and the hospitality of great local pubs and people. Enjoy also the fact that you are staying in a house for a little more than the cost of camping or caravaning!! Turn right out of the house and next right for the Crown Hotel which serve very nice home cooked foods from 7-9 pm no booking required. Hand pulled beers and very nice wines. N.B Cash or cheques only. Further up the village on the left you can buy ice cream frome Diane freshly made at the farm from the cows you can see grazing from the kitchen window. If you drive up this road known as Trapping Hill there is a small vineyard!! Continue up this steep winding road and you will come out on Lofthouse Moor and start heading towards Leighton Reservoir and Masham famous for the Theakston and Black Sheep Breweries. Please note: Check the weather in winter (and Spring/Autumn lol) for snow before taking this route as driving can be tricky. Back down on the "main road" - the next right is the Water Board access road to Scar House Reservoir. This is nice to drive or an uphill cycle. Once there you will see beautiful views and can walk around the reservoirs or up little Wernside. There is a cafe there at weekends usually. Back on the Road out of Lofthouse towards Middlesmoor you can head towards Howstean Gorge for a taste of Gorge walking, caving or abseiling or for the less adventurous the taste of coffee and cake in the Howstean Cafe! There is also free Wifi here. The Nidderdale Way passes through Howstean up to Middlesmoor where you can enjoy fabulous views from the Church over Nidderdale towards Gouthwaite Reservoir nature reserve in the distance. Take the road towards the Gouthwaite and Pateley Bridge and enjoy beautiful scenery as you head into Pateley to pick up any provisions needed. You will see the Bridge Inn on your right just before Pateley which does good food. Pateley is also very attractive and has some nice shops and cafes to enjoy. Children will love the play area in the park. From Pateley to the right you can visit Coldstone Cut in Greenhow and to the left Brimham Rocks towards Harrogate. Lightwater Valley Theme Park is only 25 mins from Pateley towards Ripon.
  • Fabulous overnight stay at a wonderful location. House was ideal base for our visit. Comfy beds and curtains that keep the light out!! Great selection of games available too. Secure garden with lovely view to wake up to.

  • Angela was a wonderful host. Due to a heavy storm we couldn't drive back home, so she offered us to stay there for one more night and kept us updated with the forecast and the state of the roads. The house is perfect for 6 people. It's very cosy and has a nice fire place. There are lots of board games to have fun with and the kitchen has everything you may need. The beds are comfortable and the entire place is very clean. I can totally recommend it!

  • We had a great time staying at Angela's place. The place have all the amenities for both short and long stays. Angela was very kind and helpful throughout our trip to the dales. Overall it had been excellent for us and the kids.

  • Angela's house is in an amazing location with beautiful scenery in every direction. The house while listed as basic has all you need. Kitchen is well equipped for self catering, but there are fantastic pubs nearby too. Large conservatory is perfect for drying wet hiking gear! Angela was a great host contacting us to make sure everything was ok... unfortunately the phone signal is pretty poor so I didn't always get her thoughtful messages. Many thanks

    Stu2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • It is as shown in the details for the place. Clean, roomy and in a fantastic location for walkers etc. The PS1 was a hit (with 11yr old and husband) and so was the Crown pub just around the corner- nice beer and good whisky selection (friendly staff and locals :) It is what it says on the tin, 1990s showpiece, we loved it, just like being at a great aunts :) We shopped at Morrison's on the way, and then found the nice butchers in Pately bridge too. Had a couple of nice walks from the doorstep (7+10 miles) Didn't make it to How Stean this time and it was drizzly when at Brimham rocks- couldn't see far, so a good reason to return. The info in the book/file is spot on. Angela's communication was excellent - mobile coverage is very sporadic but was enough for messaging back and forth.

Fancy an adventure? Not quite a treehouse; more of a comfortable, hand-crafted nest box. If you loved building dens as a kid then we think you’ll love this. The compact, cedar cabin for 2, overlooks woodland with a bubbling ghyll below. You’re surrounded by nature; a great location for anyone who loves the hills, be it walking, running, cycling or bird watching. Plus, you’re 3 minutes walk to restaurants, bakeries and the independent shops of Pateley Bridge.
This compact, glamping cabin sits alone in a wild, ungrazed field and is designed with windows that frame your views into your surroundings. Gradients and 7 steps are unavoidable to reach the cabin, so sturdy footwear is a must. Inside the cabin is a double bed, (proper bed linen), tucked into a beautiful alcove of curved plywood, a kitchenette equipped with microwave, toaster, fridge, (no hob but the microwave grills), and space for table and chairs. After a day of fresh air why not close the shutters and curl up with a good book and a decent drink. Or outside you've a little verandah and a terrace with a fire pit, (wood provided), plus toasting forks. You've your own underfloor heated wet-room/toilet about 40m away, near the house, in a Victorian outbuilding. Parking is also here plus bicycle storage. You’re on the Coast to Coast cycle route, Way of the Roses and Nidderdale Way footpath, plus superb walks from your doorstep in all directions.
Bewerley and Pateley Bridge are located on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales in the Nidderdale AONB, so we're surrounded by gorgeous, rugged moorland scenery and valleys with lots of little 'gems'. Favorites are Brimham rocks, and the Yorke's Folly walk. A cyclists dream if you like hills, (we’re on the Cote de Greenhow for Tour de Yorkshire 2018),and walking paradise too. Pateley has a quirky little Playhouse, quality craft workshops and a proper herbalist. Also lovely walks along the river and reservoirs. Scenic drives (or rides for the keenest ones), of less than half an hour get you to Hackfall Woods, Brimham Rocks, Fountains Abbey and StudleyRoyal, Scar House reservoir at the valley head, Coldstones Cut viewing platform on Greenhow, Hebden Ghyll, Trollers Ghyll and the spectacular climb up to Simons Seat. Alternatively, Harrogate and it’s Turkish Bath is very relaxing and approx half an hour by car away.
  • Absolutely fantastic stay at Sarah’s hut in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales. Storm Dennis decided to visit at the same time as us (just our luck!) but Sarah was really reassuring when we contacted in advance to make sure we were ok to come and we still found plenty to do in terms of cosy pubs in Pateley Bridge and a lovely drive over to Masham to visit the Black Sheep Brewery. The hut was really stylish, had so many thoughtful touches and was lovely and warm. Was great to have water supply and another perk was the digital radio which we could Bluetooth our music through! Set near the stream it was so relaxing to hear the water when at the hut. The shower block is really close by and again, really stylish and spotlessly clean. A shame the weather limited our walking (more hardened hikers might have still headed out) and we were gutted we couldn’t toast marshmallows on the fire pit but we would definitely come back and visit again in future! Very highly recommended.

    Sarah2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is a wondrous little escape, that allows you to be cut off from the whole world whilst not actually being too far away for amenities. Sarah is a wonderful host, who offers plenty of local advice and tips, and is very welcoming and easy to chat to. I absolutely loved my weekend stay and would love to return in the future.

    Maxwell2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Second visit to the cabin (different season) and still loved it . So cosy despite being January and cold outside. Short walk to some lovely restaurant and pubs in pateley bridge . The lovely touches such as some posh lemonade, chocolate biscuits and marshmallows were very much appreciated. Don’t think it will be our last visit to the Cabin . Thank you Sarah for another lovely weekend.

    Louise2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to escape for a few days. Excellent location close to local shops, restaurants, pubs and walking routes. The cabin itself is exactly as described and has everything you need. Would highly recommend!

  • A beautifully constructed cabin haven hidden in a secret garden location. An immaculate and contemporary space with multiple window views out into the wilderness. We stayed during a frosty winter weekend and were perfectly cosy. We ate dinner and breakfast, both of us commenting that we could happily make the place our home. Not to mention to cosy bathroom nearby, towels and toiletries provided, everything had been thought of. The location is excellent - a stone’s throw from the centre of pateley bridge. There really is so much to do nearby. We chose to walk up to ‘two stoops’ on day one. We hardly bumped into another soul, the way we like our walks. We called in at a couple of pubs and then headed to how stean gorge and black sheep brewery in Masham. Nidderdale is idyllic. A perfect and private escape, clearly organised by a very thoughtful host with some very thoughtful touches, we would love to stay again soon. Highly recommend.

    Clare2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing weekend. Everything was perfect, it really felt like we where hidden away in our very own secret garden. The cabin is so cosy inside and warmer than anticipated as we visited in November it was a little chilly outside. Sarah was lovely and really made us feel welcome and encouraged us to have a wonder around the grounds and suggested Brimham rocks for a visit. The bathroom facilities where great, always a little sceptical about these things! but it was great, underfloor heating kept it nice and warm and it was very clean. Due to the rain we did not have a chance to do everything we had wished over the weekend; therefore we will definitely be staying again. It was a truly magical, relaxed weekend away.

    Haley2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely lovely Airbnb in beautiful surroundings with a amazing thoughtful host. The communication and little personal touches was the cherry on the cake. Would recommend this place thoroughly for a lovely getaway and break from busy reality 😊 thank you to the hosts! You've made a lovely place.

Holiday apartment adjoining our home - part of converted barn. It has a fantastic view (across our garden and fields) of Nidderdale and is within easy distance (by car, bus or on foot) of many attractions, such as Brimham rocks, Fountains Abbey/Studley Royal, Pateley Bridge, How Stean Gorge, Stump Cross Caverns, to name but a few. Harrogate, Knaresborough, Ripon and Skipton are 30 mins (or less) by car - York, Leeds and Bradford less than an hour. Ideal for walkers/cyclists. Private parking.
We will be easily contactable if you need us, but you can be assured of your privacy if not! We are friendly, helpful sort of people, and new to AirBnB hosting! We ask that you let us know if you intend to bring a pet, and that their access is restricted to the kitchen/living area, and the porch. We expect them to be kept under control at all times - inside and outside the property please.
We have neighbours on one side ('extended family') and a field between the holiday home and the next house, on the other! You may occasionally notice some light traffic noise during the daytime. Our chickens "free range" and are very friendly.
  • Vanessa's cottage has fantastic views and it's a great location to explore from. Lovely walks straight from the door too. Vanessa is really friendly and kind and even gave our kids corn to feed the chickens, and took them to feed the sheep which they loved!

    Olivia2019-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • Vanessa was a brilliant host - really helpful directions before we arrived, very quick responses to all our queries, and couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful during our stay. Our 1 year old loved meeting the chickens, dogs and other animals. The accommodation was great and the views stunning. Thank you, we hope to be back!

  • Lovely views from the garden where we sat and had a cup of tea when we first arrived. Sadly the rain then set in, but that wasn’t Vanessa’s fault. Despite that, there was plenty to do in the surrounding area, the ‘barn’ was very comfortable and the hot showers were welcome when we came home soaked! The kitchen was very well equipped so we did some home cooking, and there are also some really good places to eat out locally!

    Alison2019-06-26T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely spot. Quiet and great hosts.

    Tony2019-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • Vanessa is a fantastic and attentive host. The directions she gave were highly useful and the knowledge of the local area gave us tips on how to further maximise our stay. The hospitality was second to none, even going above and beyond and making a birthday cake for my partner who's birthday we were celebrating. We could not recommend Vanessa more and their beautiful home and will hopefully be back in the area in the not too distant future!

    Martin2019-04-22T00:00:00Z
  • Vanessa and Tim (and the dogs and chickens!) were very welcoming and friendly, and extra-helpful when we needed it. The accommodation had everything we needed, including a lovely view. We're looking forward to visiting again later in the year.

    Glenn2019-04-20T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect little cottage with a stunning view. Hosts incredibly helpful. Highly recommend.

    Joanne2018-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful views of the Yorkshire countryside as we were preparing breakfast or relaxing on the patio, this is an amazing escape from the city! Very comfortable furnishings and well-equipped kitchen, our host Vanessa met us as we arrived, having supplied us with useful directions. She could not have been more helpful and welcoming. A great location in the countryside, highly recommended.

  • Althea and Joel were very friendly and welcoming. Great location, spotlessly clean and lots of nice touches! Thankyou for a wonderful stay :)

    Faith2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • I have stayed at a fair number of AirBnB’s over the years and have never felt so welcome and at-ease as I did at Althea & Joel’s. They went above and beyond to make my stay in Pateley Bridge perfect. The room was lovely, and the bed was quite possibly the most comfortable I have ever slept in. I will definitely stay here again the next time I’m in the area!

    Joshua2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • The comfiest bed, the warmest hot tub. Althea and Joel are such a lovely hosts. They have tastefully decorated their house with their own chatacter over the years and it really is a welcoming and warm family home. The room is private, on it's own floor close to the front door so you can be as private or as sociable as you like. They run it as a bnb experience with a very high quality continental breakfast featuring a wide selection of local produce and Althea's homemade jam. The room was spotless and the bed was incredibly comfortable.

  • We highly recommend staying here - absolutely lovely house and the hot tub is amazing after a long day walking! Althea is a lovely host, very welcoming and laid back and the cats are friendly and fluffy! • Me and my mum wanted a quiet getaway to literally do nothing but read and chill out, explore the local area a bit. Scotts little house was so lovely. We felt so at home. Everything was within walking distance and didn’t need for anything else really. We parked up and didn’t use the car and just relaxed. Gorgeous decorations and homely feel. Netflix is a nice touch. Thank you!

    Lydia2019-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • An excellent house. Well appointed and sparkling clean. Paterley Bridge is a lovely pictuesque town and provides excellent access to the Dales and Harrogate. Scott and his Mum were great hosts. I would highly recommend this to anyone visiting the area.

  • A beautiful home in a beautiful location. Perfect for a quiet getaway. The house was very clean, all the amenities that we needed, and a lovely style and great attention to detail. We stayed here for a relaxing few days after our wedding. We were greeted by Margaret who kindly gave us a bottle of champagne when she realised we had just got married! We would definitely stay here again.

  • Had a great visit, thanks. The online details looked good, but the space seemed actually bigger than appeared in the photos! Very comfortable and well furnished. Would definitely recommend. And Pateley Bridge is well positioned for hiking and outdoor pursuits, with some pretty good local restaurants as a reward at the end of the day!

Moorhouse is an 18th century, stone-built, lead miner's cottage, which lies on the cusp between wooded valley and open moorland in Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. With views in all directions, it is ideal for a break away amidst rugged scenery, and is perfectly placed for access to local attractions such as Fountains Abbey, Brimham Rocks and the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
The suite consists of our 'Hayloft' room, a private bathroom and the 'snug' living room. For additional members of your party, our Cottage Room is available. We will look in from time to time to ensure your party are comfortable, to look after the fire in winter, and so on, and will pass through the corridor to our kitchen, but otherwise the space is yours. The Hayloft has exposed stone walls and beams, a king size brass bed, a settee and an uninterrupted view to Brimham Rocks on the other side of Nidderdale, while the Cottage Room has a double bed and looks out over 'Alpaca Hill', where the (two) alpacas usually sleep. The bathroom lies between the two and is equipped with a deep, roll top bath and thermostatically controlled, hand-held shower attachment (sorry, no shower). Tea and coffee making facilities are provided in both rooms. Downstairs, the 'snug', with television and a working range, is exclusively for guest use and gives a cosy-cottage place to relax after a day out. Just ask if you'd like the range to be lit. An Aga-cooked Breakfast, including our own free-range eggs, is served round the table in the old part of the kitchen. At other times, though, the kitchen is for our private use only.
Just down the hill is Pateley Bridge (Great British High Street Awards, village winner - 2016), where you can stock up on award winning homemade pies, bread and cake, or wet your whistle in one of the local pubs. Or, if you prefer, a short walk directly from our door along the Bewerley Industrial Heritage Trail brings you to Coldstones Cut, where you can explore Yorkshire’s highest public sculpture, overlooking a working Quarry and with spectacular views of Nidderdale and beyond.
  • A phenomenal stay. The cottage is so beautiful and really does make you feel like you're in another world. Everything felt very luxurious - but still rustic and full of character, from the toasty open log fire to the rich squishy beds. I came with my mum and sister to celebrate my sister's 30th Birthday and it was such a magical stay. Trevor and Jules are fantastic natural hosts, and in all honesty really made our trip. They helped us with planning walks, laid out an amazing home-made soup and bread dinner, and were very kind when my sister's birthday candles set the smoke alarm off... There are so many lovely touches, with fresh lilies in the bedroom, cozy dressing gowns in the bedrooms and little fuzzy socks for the snug room. We couldn't recommend it enough, 5* across the board.

  • 100% the best Airbnb I’ve ever stayed in! An unforgettable stay with two fantastic hosts, this Airbnb is a home away from home, perfectly located on the boundary of Nidderdale and the Yorkshire Dales. There’s plenty of things to do in the area, but if the weathers bad, there’s no other place I’d rather stay in - the hayloft will be very very hard to beat!

    Callum2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • This is absolutely THE BEST AirBNB/Bed and Breakfast we have ever been to. It was only for a night, but if I had know how lovely it was going to be, I would have booked for a month.

  • The views!!!! Spectacular views across the Yorkshire Dales. The house is clean and modern. Sarah is a lovely host. The room is totally fine. Clean and tidy. We had a great stay here. No problems at all to highly recommend Sarah and her lovely house. Sarah also recommended a restaurant in Pateley Bridge - where we had a very good meal. All in all, we were very happy with our stay. Oh, and did I mention the views?

  • The accommodation is modern and stylish yet we felt at home. There was everything you needed from a spice rack and variety of glasses to lovely big fluffy towels and dressing gowns. The location was a perfect base, whilst being central, it was quiet and felt very private. We loved the way the property was decorated and how clean it was and wish we could have stayed longer. Would love to return for longer so we could have explored a bit more. Keith is a great host and little touches like bread, milk and cereal were greatly appreciated.

The Hot Tub was able to use no matter what the weather decided to do. Such a relaxing couple of days. John and Sue were very helpful- especially with directions on the first night. The hill to get up to the farm is pretty steep and rocky.

Tiplady is a small farm with great views and a place where everything is just a little quirky. The Herdie Hut is a traditional shepherd's hut set by a stream in a small wooded valley. The hut is cosy with a wood burning stove and has a small sitting out area . The toilets and showers are adjacent to the hut and there is a handy fridge, in a telephone box, just outside. Located close to the Nidderdale Way, Tiplady Farm is perfect for walkers and cyclists or simply somewhere to escape to.
