We stayed in the bothy in the February snow. Despite this, once the log burner was going it was toasty warm inside and we had a fabulous, relaxing stay.

The Bothy is a beautiful, quiet place to get away and relax! Even in February, with the stove it’s warm in the evenings ! The hosts were welcoming and had prepared instructions and handy tips for every event making the stay very easy. The location is ideal for walking and exploring ! Will definitely be returning :)

My experience at the Bothy was truly a wonderful. Beautifully situated in woods surrounded by the sounds of nature. It was a perfect time to switch off. Merlin et al made for the perfect hosts - warm, informative and responsive. I especially enjoyed the outdoor shower (exhilarating!!), burning the log fire, and the morning birds! I will certainly be returning, and highly recommend this experience!

Second visit to the bothy and it was just as relaxing as the first visit. It’s a perfect environment to switch off and forget the rest of the world. Especially useful on Friday 31st Jan @11pm.... 🙃 the space was perfect and it’s something I recommend everyone visit. I convinced my partner to use the outside shower and she loved it. Success!

We've stayed numerous times at the bothy and definitely prefer the winter, outdoor shower is so refreshing, trust us and dive in. Everything you need is provided for a relaxing weekend full of tranquility and washing the working week away.

Great place, bigger on the inside than it looks from the outside. Complete isolation and a great view of the lake. Wood burning fire for inside and for the hot tub - plenty of logs provided. The bed is comfortable and the utilities do a basic job well. If you're into this sort of thing, this is just right.

Simply a wonderful experience, so peaceful and relaxing. The dome and its location are stunning, even in the middle of February! Using the hot tub under the blackest starry sky I’ve ever seen was blissful. I was worried about the toilet, but it was clean and very hygienic. It took us mire like 5 hours to heat up the tub, but only because we were being a little too cautious. Definitely leave the ash pan open a little on the hot tub stove to get the fire roaring and I’m sure it could be done in 3 hours. We left the curtains open to watch for shooting stars; just wonderful. We will stay there again in the summer or autumn to experience better weather, but this did not detract from a wonderful break.

What a fantastic place to get away and switch off from everything, loved all the extra touches and the setting of the dome is amazing. To be able to sit in a hot tub and star gaze on a cold February night was brilliant ☺️

Would definitely recommend. Weve just stayed in cold January and so long as the log burner was lit the dome was lovely and warm. Great waking up looking out over the lake. The hot tub takes awhile to heat as expected and stated but once reached heat it was boiling. Plenty of pubs in surrounding areas for a bite to eat. I imagine summer stays are fab with the bbq and fire pit

A very special space, with beautiful views over the lake. Didn’t see anyone else from arriving until we left- felt totally safe & secluded. The hot tub took a few hours to heat the first night but was well worth it! Clear skies, stars, & nothing to hear but occasional ducks and the crackle of the fire. Then the next day it only took an hour or so to heat. The dome was lovely and cosy with the wood burner - perfect for the January cold clear weather (swans were ice-breaking on the pond in the morning)! It is exactly as described, would highly recommend staying here :)

The Airship 002 is everything the photos portray it to be. We happened to stay there a stormy weekend in February and were more than happy to hibernate in such a beautiful place. The windows really make you feel like you’re in the landscape and every aspect of the design works seamlessly. I’d recommend it to anyone and would go back in a heartbeat.

We spent the most sublime weekend in the airship - such a unique and cosy place to decompress as the rain came down all around us. Truly mesmerising. We didn’t want to leave and will definitely be back soon!

This is a wee treasure. We had a wonderful time and loved the environment with the river and abandonned railway. The castle was very clean and comfortable.

A truly unique and beautiful place to stay. The property has all the amenities you could need. It is in a great location for walking and for a day trip to Edinburgh.

Everything was perfect: a warm welcome with touches of attention, perfectly clean places, heated rooms, complete kitchen equipment, sufficient bathroom linen, etc. It was a magical stay in a tower steeped in history in the Scottish countryside. The walks in the surrounding countryside are superb: fields, woods and river ... and Lulu offered us a private tour of the Neidpath Castle: exceptional! One of our best AirBNB experiences

What a fantastic castle! Absolutely brilliant! Lovingly restored to an exceptional standard, warm and cosy - you'll not want to leave!

What an amazing find! A gorgeous ‘castle’ set on the grounds with other properties, we felt incredibly grand entering to stay. The gate and door were so much fun and the history of the castle was explained once inside. Impeccably clean and great cooking facilities, this cosy accommodation is a must stay and with the novelty of the spiral staircase, spacious rooms and considerate additions of food in the fridge, it was certainly hard to leave after our three nights.

Lulu is an amazing host. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Fantastic piece of history, with great amenities.

Absolutely magical. We stayed for over a week, relaxing, taking walks, exploring Peebles and the amazing sights of Scotland. From the comfort of the tower to our personalized tour of Neidpath Castle, this was a trip we surely won't forget. The stairs are no joke, but by the end of our stay, our ability to navigate them became easier.

Another great time spent at Weavers Cottage. This is such a great little find, from cuddling up in front of the fire to watching beautiful sunrises from the bottom of your own wee garden as the waves crash against the shore you even have your own private gate onto the beach. Such a beautiful cottage in a such a beautiful location.

My favorite place I’ve stayed with Airbnb so far! The entire apartment was full of charm and character. Such thoughtful details, easy communication and beautiful location. Everything about our stay at Calim’s dreamy place was exceptional. He has gone above and beyond to consider all the details to make sure your stay is perfect- before and during you’re stay. I loved opening my eyes each morning to the magnificent paintings, the chandelier and the sounds of bag pipes from the street. Hours passed one evening whilst flicking through Calim’s vast bookshelves with the Robert’s radio going in the background. Just perfect.

This space could be your vacation! Arrive - make a wonderful coffee or pour a glass of wine - curl up in one of the two beautiful couches... and choose a book or many! The view from the multiple windows is stunning! And the artwork! This apartment rises to the top of my list as one of the most inspiring spaces I have stayed in! It is stunning! Location could not be better - Edinburgh is a beautiful city and will be right out your doorstep if you are lucky enough to stay here! Enjoy!

Incredible stay in the heart of the Royal Mile. Calim went above and beyond to make my three days in Edinburgh comfortable and secure -- including some fantastic recommendations of local eateries and attractions. Cannot recommend highly enough!

Beautiful place to stay, great location and lovely host.

This is an absolutely stunning cottage in the heart of Edinburgh. Within walking distance of the Old and New Town, it is easy to get to everything you will need for a very enjoyable stay. And for those of you who are not as familiar with the area, the owner does an amazing job of providing information on restaurants, attractions, etc. From the spacious shower to the heated floors to the fireplace and the loft bed, everything has been meticulously thought and offered. It was quite windy and rainy during our visit, but we stayed snug and warm in the dovecot. An amazing place and highly recommended!

This is a special little place in a great location - in a large private garden yet minutes from great cafes and access to the city. We adored the cottage - a complete one off and what I think Airbnb is really all about. Highly recommended as a romantic bolt hole for couples - but we actually had our son too and it had plenty comfy space for us all. Loved it.

A lovely quiet retreat that is close to Edinburgh and Morningside (lots of lovely bakeries, cafes and restaurants) The cottage is warm, comfortable and a special place to stay. Sarah was lovely and very nice to talk to. We would definitely stay here again!

This was by far the best Airbnb I have stayed in. The location was perfect and the decor within the home was beautiful, stylish, and comfortable. But what really made this Airbnb so special was the extra accommodations Calim made as a host. When bad weather was on the horizon before my trip, Calim called me to let me know of any potential train cancellations and offered to postpone my stay in Edinburgh. He even found me places around London that I could lodge in for one more evening due to the last minute weather crisis. Then when I actually arrived the next day, Calim had shortbread prepared for me and opera playing on the stereo. He was also available whenever I had any questions about the city — whether it be food or activity recommendations as well as general city questions. Truly an amazing host and would absolutely stay in this place again.

Honestly this place is the most tastefully decorated home I have ever been in to. I didn't even want to go outside, I could have sat in there forever just reading books, sipping tea out of glass cups and staring out of the sash windows. The location is astounding and although the stairs are many, they give the most beautiful view. Absolutely EVERYTHING was perfect.

Blue Moon Studio was the perfect space for us to relax for a long weekend up on Skye. The view from the living room will be extremely difficult to leave. David & Jayne’s local knowledge helped us massively as it was our first time visiting Skye.

An excellent place to stay on Skye. Close enough to Portree but in a quiet location with beautiful views. The accommodation was top notch with great little touches to make it comfortable and homely.

Blue Moon Studio is like staying in a small slice of heaven. When we arrive we were welcomed with a lovely hand written note, wine, and buttery short bread cookies. It’s located above a peninsula next door to a property with gorgeous highland sheep dotted all over the land. The wall along the combined kitchen and living space is a huge window overlooking the water. There’s a wood stove with plenty of wood that is cozy and comforting. The entire studio is filled with local art, pottery, blankets, pillows, and such. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need to prepare meals. In fact we only dined out one time in the four days we were there. The bed is dreamy, we would’ve been happy to just stay in that bed all day..... but there are so many beautiful things to see and do in the surrounding areas, we made ourselves get up! Robby and I stay in Airbnb’s whenever we travel and we have to say this place is one of the best places we’ve ever experienced. We are already planning our next visit. If you want rest, relaxation, and peace, this is your spot! Cheers!

We had a wonderful stay in Skye. The studio was beautiful and it was obvious a lot of love had gone into creating the space. David & Jayne were great hosts. We highly recommended a stay at the blue moon studio!

We spent two nights in the treehouse and loved every minute of it. Despite menacing weather from Storm Dennis, we still managed to have the log burner on both nights for a few hours and enjoyed the lovely tranquil surroundings. The treehouse has everything we needed for a very comfortable stay, the space was very clean, breakfast was perfect and the personal touches made it special. We walked to Drymen on our first day and had a great lunch at the Clachan Inn. Thanks Katrina, we’ll be back.

Brilliant location and treehouse had everything you could need and was spotless. Felt very cosy (and we had booked the weekend storm Ciara hit!) however the wind and the rain werent an issue and we had a great weekend at the treehouse! Cannot recommend booking is place enough.

Katrina’s place is perfect for a short getaway! The treehouse is next to two pods so would be ideal for a break with some friends. She’s thought of everything you’d need, there’s a store with board games, tourist guides, extra beer/wine for sale, logs etc for the wood burner, and inside the treehouse she’s provided a speaker, toiletries and even a coffee machine. The treehouse itself is designed to a very high spec and is so cosy with lots of blankets and a heater. Breakfast is a lovely extra touch. We could have stayed for much longer if we had the time! The bothy is a beautiful, quaint and cosy space situated in a remote yet accessible location. The surrounding scenery and trails are breathtaking and the wood burning stove and hot tub made this an unforgettable stay. James was quick to respond to any questions and was extremely friendly and inviting. Highly recommended.

A fantastic, secluded place to stay in an out of the way place with lovely scenery. Log burner was lovely after being out in the rain all day! James was a great host and very friendly, his directions were easy to follow and we found it with no problem. Go well prepared and stock up with food, nearest shops are 30 mins away in winter months! Would recommend for a restful, away from it all, few days.

James's place was wonderful. We wanted peace and quiet and that was exactly what we got. We arrived in the dark so didn't see much of the view from the drive down. But the following day was a real treat! The directions to the Bothy were clear and precise and we found it in the dark with very little trouble. Logs and kindling were plentiful, so each evening we had a fire and heated up the hot tub twice. The shower and toilet were very clean and only a short walk away from the Bothy. A great place to stay, fantastic location and well worth the drive from the village.

Situated in a beautiful area and super quirky inside. Great place to come to get away from it all for a few days. Will be back again soon. Maybe have a few more cooking utensils in the kitchen but that’s just a minor thing. This place is truly stunning and is a real home away from home.

The cottage is so cute and cosy and has the best neighbours (some very friendly cows). My friends and I loved the thoughtful touches such as the homemade cupcakes and fresh milk which were left in the fridge. The hot tub was great and Jessica was also so friendly and helpful. My friends and I had a lovely time and we will definitely be back!

5 star accommodation with a 5 star review. Loved every minute and will definitely re-book. Set on a working farm which was a little noisy but prior warning is in the description so no complaints. It was something a little different which we actually enjoyed. Fast replied when contacting Jessica, the host and she was more than accommodating. Can't wait to go back. Highly recommend x

Great place! Would absolutely return, the surroundings are great. Would probably pay more than the price we paid tbh, great value for money. Great for just chilling and escaping. The bed is DREAMY. Sadly the weather was mid storm when we went but didn’t stop us warming our bones in the hot tub! X

Fantastic place. Cosy and peaceful! The hot tub is such a nice bonus! Location is great, big Tesco nearby and we easily travelled into Glasgow for the day. Couldn’t recommend it more!

Had such an amazing experience at this little getaway as part of a birthday gift, facilities were excellent and the hot tub was a bonus as-well. Found it really easy to get to and was well sign posted on the way, the host was excellent very easy to get hold of and the little bottle of milk was a nice touch. Would recommend this wee get away as you would not be disappointed and has given me and my friends an amazing weekend! Thanks again!

Lovely place to stay, very cosy with everything you could need. The cottage has amazing views, and we loved watching Anita and Bruce's dogs playing outside. Bruce was very helpful when it snowed the morning we were due to leave, dug our car out and advised us on the safest road to take to the main road. We will definitely be back in the better weather!

The cottage was extremely cosy and clean, and provided a wonderful base for our trip to the Pennines. Lots of great walks nearby, and Anita and Bruce were available if we had any questions. Homemade bread on arrival was a lovely touch - would highly recommend to anyone looking for a nice, quiet retreat.

My partner and I had an absolutely fantastic stay at Butterfly Cottage. We were visiting during Storm Dennis but it was still stunning in the snow! Anita and Bruce gave us tips on walks we could do near by and we were happy enough to sit and enjoy the cottage when the weather was really nasty! What can I say- a truly wonderful stay with some truly wonderful people (including Casper the dog!) Lynne and Darren's home is positioned in the most beautiful landscape imaginable and their lovely modern home makes full use of this view and environment, with very large windows that look out onto unbeatable views. Perched on the edge of the sea, there is always something to look at- an ever changing piece of art. The bedroom is a comfortable space with a large bed and storage, but to be honest we didn't spend any time here unless we were sleeping. This is because Lynne and Darren very kindly give their guests full use of their living space, with stunning views and log burner. The kitchen adjoins this lounge space, so Lynne and Darren were around this space to make food occasionally etc and say hello, but this living space would otherwise be yours to use. Likewise the bathroom next to your bedroom is a lovely functional space, with walk-in shower, and you will have sole use of this during your stay. The kitchen is where Lynne would prepare lovely breakfasts for us each morning. We were spoilt with homemade bread, yoghurt, jams and granola. Cheeses and meats were laid on, as were Lynne's home grown eggs! We also had pastries, buns or crumpets etc on other mornings- we never never short of lovely things to eat. When Lynne and Darren were around they would offer tea and always check in with us. Lynne's home is a croft, and so there are a number of animals around the house! We had a lot of fun watching her chickens and small flock of sheep carry out their daily routines, and we had a lot of entertainment from getting to know their rescue dog Casper. The position of the house makes it ideally placed to walk/ drive to a variety of beauty spots, whether that is a coastal walk around the local peninsula, or a walk into the nearby village of Plockton (which has a number of lovely pubs and places to pick up supplies). You can't help but fall out of the house into the gorgeous countryside! Lynne was on hand to recommend local walks to us during our stay, and we couldn't get enough of exploring the local area. This is a rural location, so if you want to make the most of your stay, bring some walking boots and get ready to explore some incredible scenery first hand! Can't recommend Lynne and Darren's lovely home enough- if you book your stay with them, you won't be disappointed!

Our stay here was amazing. The hosts are wonderful, and helped to provide a great experience, serving delicious food, and are knowledgable about the area and generous with their time. The house is located in a gorgeous setting close to the Isle of Skye. Highly recommend

Such an amazing stay at Lynne and Darren’s! The view is next to none, and the ease to get around is great. So peaceful and pristine, and the home is so cozy and a great base for exploring the Isle of Skye. Loved getting to know the hosts and share some stories over a cuppa!

Wow! We loved staying with Lynne, Darren, and Casper! The house has a stunning view of the sea and its cozy seating areas give you the perfect opportunity to relax and enjoy the incredible scenery. Their hospitality is off the charts and we can not recommend a better place to stay. We’re already trying to figure out when we can return!

Lynne is such an amazing host. Staying was as comfortable as being at home, and the place is absolutely incredible. There are short walks to take right from the house, and it is ideal to get to Skye, if that is your destination. Lynne also had great tips for where to visit and where to eat. If we are back in the area, we would definitely stay again.

Dreamy location, excellent hosts with good local tips and eclectic conversation. I could sit at those magnificent windows all day if there wasnt so much to see locally.

This is the place to stay if you wish to spend a day or more exploring Skye! You will have a fantastic drive through the Highlands to get here. (We recommended arriving during daylight unless you are an experienced driver!) The property itself and the views each morning are wonderful and worth exploring before you even go out for the day. Lovely cafe nearby and we enjoyed the restaurants in Plockton. Lynne is easy to get to know and makes you feel at ease and welcome at all times! Breakfast each morning is enjoyable, especially the eggs from her chickens! Sheep and Highland cows greet you each day as well. A place for animal lovers in a rural environment. The bed and bath area are in a private area of the house, but we felt welcome in the living and kitchen area and enjoyed our time in the chairs looking at the view and enjoying the fire each night.

Amazing hosts cannot say thank you enough for making us feel so welcome, this really is a B&B with a difference Lynne, Darren and Casper have the X factor. Wonderful setting amazing views we just hope we can come back sooner rather than later!

Lovely place

Had a great stay here, very easy to find with google maps and well organised on arrival. We were provided with everything we needed for a quiet night away! (including helpful tractor ride to the hut!) We would definitely book again - hopefully with better weather!

Fabulous host Jared took us up to the hut via tractor which was an added bonus Just one with nature and the stars were perfect .... shooting stars galore .... despite the freezing chill and wind it was cosy and warm in the hut with the peat burning stove. Away from electricity and Wi-fi and a night under the stars was just what the doctor ordered. We will be back Go check it out

What a jewel only 1.5hrs from Edinburgh! It was absolutely amazing and unique experience and served perfectly for much needed time away from the city. Very grateful for all the extras, including the pick up and drop off at the train station...

Beth’s Bothy is a fantastic snug which has been very well designed to maximise the space. It has everything you would need for a relaxing few days away including cooking facilities, TV, wifi and an amazing hot tub. There are lots of walks nearby and some lovely restaurants and pubs in Gatehouse of Fleet which is about a 15 - 20 minute walk away through the woods or on the main road. The snug was very clean and the hot tub is checked daily by the host and drained and refilled after each visit. We enjoyed sitting in the hot tub each night and looking up to the stars which were crystal clear. Even in the low February temperatures, the hot tub stayed consistently warm and lovely. The host also left some home baked scones and fresh flowers for our arrival which was a great touch and very much appreciated. All in all, this is a great place to stay and we highly recommend it!

Lovely and comfortable accommodation. Scenic views and beautiful surrounding areas. Very quiet and a lot of tourist areas closed in winter, so be prepared for that.

A beautiful cottage in the most incredible setting. We were lucky enough to have snow throughout our stay. The cottage has every amenity you can think of, even some cooking oil, salt and pepper. It really was a lovely cosy stay for a winter getaway

I got this stay for my mum and dad to celebrate my mums 50th and she was amazing by it. She has always wanted to spend her 50th someone snowy and beautiful and she got exactly that. They drove all the way from the south west but would do it again! The pictures and videos she sent of their trip here looked amazing! It has made me and my husband want to book now!

Grant's place is lovely. It's beautifully decorated with loads of books and art, is sparkling clean and has absolutely stunning views. The location is close to Talisker Distillery, Talisker Bay, the Fairy Pools and much more. Highly recommend!

We loved staying at Grants place and want to go back already! The house is beautifully designed, full of interesting artwork with the most amazing views out of every window. The house is so warm and cosy and we enjoyed lighting the fire and listening to the crazy wind and rain that we had. The instructions to get there were very clear so we found the house very easily and the location is great to visit the rest of Skye. There is a coffee shop and a pub just down the road (unfortunately didn’t get to go to either but they looked great!) I would 100% recommend staying here!

Grant's house was lovely. Everything we were looking for to relax for a long weekend away from the city. The views (particularly form the water facing bedroom and the sitting room) were excellent and the house was very warm. Kithchen equipment very clean and of excellent quality. No complaints at all. Would definitely come back.

We had a really great stay at Grant's place. We were there during Storm Dennis, which included there being a lightning strike which knocked the power out in the whole village for about 5 hours. Grant messaged straight away to check we were ok - we got the wood burner going and had a nice cosy evening by the fire! The house is lovely, really spacious, clean, and very comfortable. Had everything we needed, really good cooking equipment etc. Even though we were there when it was pretty cold outside, it was always lovely and warm when the heating was on or the fire was lit. We'd definitely recommend the cottage, and might look to come back again (maybe when there are fewer weather warnings out..!)

The BEST place to stay while on Skye. It’s in a great little town that is pretty central to everything. And it’s only about 4 mins behind Talisker! So everyday on our way out, we would get out and smell that glorious smell... and of course we did a tour too. The house is clean and stylish. Grant has made it a homey and convenient place to stay. Everything you’ll need to cook dinner, cozy up next to the fire, and enjoy a nice evening. Best nights sleep we had our whole trip! Great bedding, pillows, and mattress. Grant was a great host!

The house is beautifully restored and good size for a party of 4. We enjoyed the living area with stove and the views. Good location to use as homebase to explore the island (+ coffee shop nearby). Some impracticalities could be addressed eg more kitchen utensils and dishware, the single beds are quite hard and the pillows very flat.

We had a wonderful Christmas staying at Grant's house. It's immaculately clean, beautifully located and manages to be both extremely stylish, and super comfortable. The living room is warm, welcoming and has the best views (count the Cuillins), plus a very generous supply of logs and kindling (not that they're needed with the heating on, but it's nice to add to the cosiness). As cooks we enjoyed the spacious kitchen with its amazing views (be aware there is no freezer so if you want ice for your drinks grab from the co-op). The bedrooms have lovely comfy beds, lots of storage and high quality bed linen, and the bathroom has a wonderful deep bath. All in, Grant is a really excellent host who has created a very special house in a very special spot.

The Hobbit house is a truly unique and wonderful place to stay. A modern construction but with bags of character, isolated yet close to the town of Broadford for avoid range of amenities and serves as a good Hun for travelling to and from Skye and is on a major route to get to the isles hotspots. We were there during a big storm and despite the place getting bashed around in the wind place was, well insolated, warm and cosy, and has everything you need for your stay. The kitchen facilities are basic, as to be expected for this kind of property but we still managed to russle up a steak dinner and cooked breakfast everyday with no issues. Lovely hosts as well and some good tips in the guest book. A truly memorable, first class experience.

Great little setup if you want to visit Skye. We arrived along with storm Ciara and it kept us safe, dry and cosy. Facilities are great, all the standard stuff but nice extras like heaters and dehumidifiers so we were able to dry off easily after we got in after a day out. Would definitely revisit next time we head up to Skye

Fantastic place to stay, it was a gift for my boyfriend and we really enjoyed ourselves. We have already recommended to our friends and family as its not too far from shops and it was very easy to get to as we live near Stirling. We will be back!!!

Hazels Lodge was beautiful, clean and the perfect place for a romantic and relaxing getaway. The hot tub was fantastic and it’s great how it is built into the floor so doesn’t require awkward and cold attempts at getting in and out. The lodge itself is beautifully designed and has a homely and cosy feel. Slight small touches missed but nothing major as it didn’t impact our overall stay. Hopefully we can return again soon!

Absolutely charming little cabin getaway! Exactly what my partner and I wanted. This Bothy is in a stunning location with lots of walking straight out the door. The space was cosy and comfortable, and has everything you need to cook! We didn’t even use the stove.. opting to cook on the wood stove top instead! Wished we had stayed longer!

We have just had a fantastic stay in the Bothey. The place is set with mountains either side which make for amazing views. We took a walk straight to the back of the woods on the property. From there we ended up a couple of mountains with unbelievable views down the Glen. The Bothey itself is small but very cosy. The wood burner soon gets the place very warm. I would definitely come stay again. Tim and Judy are as relaxed hosts as you can get and made us fee very welcome from the moment we arrived. So if you're looking for a remote hidden gem, this is the place.

Great little bothy in an amazing location. Tim was really helpful and quick to reply when we were having issues getting there due to a storm. He had the fire going on arrival so it was lovely and warm and he also gave us some freshly baked bread. It was snowing when we were there which made it even more picturesque. It's quite isolated which was perfect for us but make sure you arrived stocked up for a few days!

A wonderful stay in a beautiful place. We've stayed in a lot of places across Scotland but this has to be one of our favourites!

We had a lovely stay in Michael and Nolwenn's cosy cabin. As a non-driver it was wonderful to find a peaceful place to stay within easy reach of beautiful scenery yet right next to the train station and close to local amenities. Michael kindly met us from the station and helped us with our bags but it was so close - just across the road! We walked to the loch and went to the Sea Life and Birds of Prey centres. It was February so the weather wasn't great and sadly we couldn't make use of the pretty deck and gardens, but the cabin was toasty warm and there were plenty of board games, books and DVDs to keep us entertained. In fact, this is the best-equipped self-catering accommodation I've ever stayed in. Michael and Nolwenn have thought of everything, especially in the kitchen: as well as all the cutlery, crockery and utensils you'd need to cook, they provide tea, coffee, oil, sauces, salt, pepper, herbs and spices, even foil to wrap sandwiches in for picnics. These are the little things you often end up wastefully buying and leaving behind when you are self-catering and travelling by public transport. The accommodation was immaculately clean and tidy, the bed comfy, communication clear and efficient. An exemplary Airbnb experience!

The place is every bit as cosy as it looks, located very close to Loch Lomond (the cottage has direct access to a riverside path that leads you to the Loch!) and Michael and Nolwenn gave us lots of useful information which we took advantage of during our stay! Would 100% recommend it to anyone looking to stay in the Loch Lomond area.

Michael and Nolwenn are extremely kind hosts, full of useful tips of the area. The cottage is conveniently just a few minutes walk from the train depot, with plenty of privacy and a view of the river. Great place to spend a few nights away.

This magical oasis hidden on the River Leven banks of Balloch, is not to be missed. Within the first few moments into the cabin you already feel right at home, with a cosy aesthetic and some of the comfiest sheets we had ever slept in. The surrounding garden is genuinely the most magical area you will ever find yourself. Your inner child will be filled with wonder and adventure as you meander your way around its twists and turns. Waking up to a cuppa on the balcony is the ideal way to start your day and as you watch the sun peak through the trees you’ll realise that you never want to leave. Fisherwood Cottage is absolutely stunning and we can guarantee that it’s the best way to see Balloch.

This is such a cosy, well equipped little cottage! We had a lovely time here. Michael and Nolwenn have put a lot of work into making sure that guests are comfortable, including a really detailed and easy to read handbook about the cottage and the local area.

Michael and Nolwenn’s place is very comfortable and cozy and perfect for a romantic getaway! They have loads of helpful guides and tips on what to do whilst you are there. The kitchen is very well equipped and the surroundings are beautiful. I would highly recommend their place and would definitely go back there myself!

Absolutely loved every second of our stay at Michael and Nolwenns place. Michael himself kindly showed us the way to the lodge from the Balloch platform which was just a few minutes walk. As soon as we met him he made us feel right at home and gave us some great reccomendations for places to see and things to do during our stay. The lodge itself was incredibly cosy and well equipped with a stunning balcony that overlooked the garden and nearby marina which conveniently lead to the Loch. Having eaten at the nearby Tullie Inn and Balloch House Hotel (both great restaurants serving hearty pub grub) we were also delighted to be greeted by Michael and Nolwenns cat, who made the stay that much more special. All in all I couldn’t recommend this place enough, warm hospitality, stunning surroundings and a really cosy nights sleep. Can’t wait to come back.

Thank you to Rebekah and Jonathon for sharing the roundhouse. Am Falachan is an outstanding property. The setting is perfect. Despite being on the banks of the sea loch it's very sheltered. While we stayed Storm Ciara hit the UK and all we experienced was sound of birdsong and an occasional patter of raindrops, which even managed to sound meditative. And those windows! Perfect for lying in bed and watching the sunrise. Rebekah is a great host and has left lots of lovely touches around the roundhouse with information and local maps for walks. Spotlessly clean, while the kitchen is small its more than adequately equipped to cook all meals, I even managed a sausage casserole! It's the perfect mindful retreat to centre ones-self and enjoy the winter hygge.

The Roundhouse is in the perfect idyllic spot and is ideal for a quiet, romantic getaway. With superb views of the loch, it is fully equipped with everything you could need - the luxury products provided were an extra special touch. Rebekah was an excellent host, always attentive to our needs and happy to help out with questions whilst giving us privacy to offer the escapism we were looking for. The Roundhouse is definitely a special find and I would 100% recommend.

Amazing place to stay. The location is unrivalled - set on the banks of the tranquil Loch Broom. The round house is a truly exceptional place, so cosy with the underfloor heating, stylish and clever interior design and the wonderful glass front. Rebekah is a great host and the jams, bread, eggs and other breakfast items she provided was a really thoughtful touch. This place is amazing and we cannot wait to return.

We had a really great time at the studio. The studio itself is really cosy, and the view is stunning. Nicholas was really reactive and gave us good tips about Skye island. Was a really nice stay!

The studio is beautiful just like the surroundings. The fire makes the studio very cosy. Carbost is a nice village with the distillery, Paul’s Oyster Shed, coffee to go and the Old Inn. Good location to see many high lights of Skye. Don’t miss out on Jann’s Cakes in Dunvegan if you like sweets as much as I do. Nick is very friendly to. A place to recommend!

Nicholas and Kate’s Studio is a beautiful, comfortable, and cosy place from which to experience the Isle of Skye. It had all the necessary amenities to cater for oneself and plenty of space in which to relax. Even going during what turned out to be a storm, we had an amazing time, cosied up inside, reading and drinking wine. It is also worth noting that the bed is very comfortable. We slept excellently despite the high winds and rain. Nicholas and Kate are fantastic hosts. They are quick to respond to messages and queries, attentive upon arrival, and extremely friendly and helpful. They provided us with all the information we would need to make the most of the Studio and Skye itself, including concise directions on finding the address, as it is situated in a very quiet area.

Fantastic stay in the studio. Easy to get to and great communication from Nick. The studio was stylish and cosy. Perfect surroundings, we were able to star gaze at night and explore Skye and it’s spectacular scenery in the day. Perfect location for a couple wanting to have some peaceful time away together. Will definitely go back!

Perfect Airbnb experience from start to finish! This perfectly formed little studio kept us toasty and warm from the battering winds outside. It's a lovely, relaxing place that is very well thought out. The open space with the woodburner and the big double door feels open, but very private, with an excellent view of the wild land/seascape beyond. The kitchen and dining area has everything you need and we had a very nice steak dinner with oven roast vegetables etc without a fuss. A small kitchen is easier to tidy up! The bathroom with composting toilet and walk in shower was spotless and the heated towel rail works quickly. (If you haven't used a compositing toilet before, it doesn't smell at all and it's eco friendly. It has clever fans that extract any smells! No risk of being woken by a flush in the middle of the night!) The bedroom is lovely and cosy. A window by the bedside allows cool air in and the space can be completely blacked out for a great sleep. The Harris Tweed curtains keep the bedroom cool if the living area is toasty. We didn't get to explore the surrounding area but we know it well, loads of great things to do and see. If you're a couple looking for a perfect hideout/ place to relax, whether you've spent the day playing Scrabble or climbing munros, don't hesitate and book if you can!

Something we looked out for when choosing a air BnB was being able to get to it without a car yet still being in the depths of nature ! Which is definitely possible through bus + taxi! Its even a magical stay even when all there is is chilling inside of the yurt during a storm! All you need is friends, wine and games! We thoroughly enjoyed cooking and dancing in the yurt, would 100% recommend to anyone thinking of booking. Alison is the most loveliest host, thank you !xxx

Amazing experience in a perfect location. The Yurt is beautiful and warm, even during storm Ciara we were really cosy. The outdoor hut tub is definitely worth the effort, it’s lovely and cosy in a tranquil setting. We weren’t very lucky with the weather but it didn’t hamper our trip and on the final night we had clear skies. We’ve never seen so many stars. Lovely welcoming host. We’ll definitely return.

We had such a lovely stay at the cabin. Even though it was December/January the cabin was very cosy and warm. Loved that we could cook our own food and the view of course was incredible! Nicky was so welcoming and helpful. Great stay!

Amazing hosts. They responded quickly and helped with everything we needed from leading up to our visit all the way to when we left. They are very accommodating and made recommendations for where we could visit. They had teas coffee sugar and milk with biscuits on our arrival. The cottage was beautiful and clean within a fantastic location so very easy to walk to places. I can’t say enough how pleased we were!

Pauline and Joep's place was lovely! Joep met us at the door for check-in (although you can check in independently as well) and gave us a tour of the property. He mentioned everything you'd need to know from the heating to their very cool electric shower and towel warmer. They have some great amenities such as tea and coffee to start you out with on your stay. They also have a washer in the home and then a dryer just a few steps away in a shed in the courtyard. The shed with the dryer was also super clean and had some extra clothes lines for hanging up delicates. Their home was super clean and had such cute images of hairy coos on the walls, which my friend and I personally loved. There are plenty of cozy blankets to use in the living room/bedroom. The TV situation was also great with cable options and an option to cast from your device to the TV. The location is fantastic - right next to the River Ness. It's close to all the city's restaurants and shops too. Just a two minute walk away is the local Tesco (so convenient) and their home is a ten minute walk away from the bus station/train station. Would highly reccomend their home for your stay in Inverness!

A fantastic retreat! We loved the lodge and wood fired hot tub, perfect for when the hail started coming down! Lovely walks nearby and a small and friendly community. Lodge is very well equipped with plenty of cooking equipment , Sky tv and local tips. Great view from the master bedroom over Loch Awe, perfect place to unwind and enjoy.

Leave those smart gadgets at home and relax in superb natural surroundings with the beautiful loch Awe gentle waves swilling on the beach a few yards away, sit in the beautiful authentic hot tub watching the beautiful clear night skies, very romantic location or family hub to go and explore!

We had a fabulous pre Christmas break at Lochside. The lodge was even better than I hoped. I had worried that we might be overdoing it with 6 plus a dog but it is deceptively spacious and very well equipped. I had no problem cooking a Christmas dinner here. The location is stunning and we spent many hours in the hot tub overlooking the loch even when it snowed on us! Well worth the 7 hours drive

Great place

Wonderful cabin right on the loch. The hot tub was fab and natural stone fire pit fantastic. The views from the upstairs bedroom were breath taking to wake up to every morning. Enjoyed every minute of our stay and cant wait to go back. Well worth the 9 hour journey from london! The locals were friendly, in the villiage shop/cafe and community bar. The food was great too. Not one single complaint! Could not have had a more peaceful fabulous holiday.

This is a very comfortable get away from it all log cabin. The setting is wonderful right on the side of wonderful Loch Awe with rolling hills backdrop. The hot tub is wonderful a true treat. The beds are comfortable and the kitchen is well stocked with utensils. the owner left thoughtful extras midge spray, tips on how to stop them attacking. shelve full of books and games. it was sparkling clean and we felt at home straight away. The road to it is long and narrow (not that it bothered us) but it is well worth it.

This is a homely and well equipped cabin in a stunning location.

We enjoyed a one night stay here on a subzero February night. Alex was so kind and welcoming when we arrived, coming out to meet us in the dark and getting the fire going in no time, which was very much appreciated! The space was actually a bit better equipped than we expected, and although it's very basic we had everything we needed for the night to cook, relax and keep warm. We imagined how dreamy it would be here in spring/summer when it's a wee bit warmer... A lovely peaceful stay.

What an absolute gem of a place! Basic and rustic but as campers we found it to be more luxury than we were expecting (being used to small tents the space and a kitchen was lovely!) We stayed on a weekend in Feb with some pretty rough weather and lots of snow. Roasted up the log burner and stayed warm enough! The walk to Fyrish monument that was recommended was beautiful and we had a great stay! 100% would go again and hope we can some time in the future!

It was absolutely wonderful. Felt very welcome there straight away upon arriving. Enjoyed our time up in Inverness. Hope to stay again in the future. You’re more than cosy and warm in the winter with the log burner going. It’s wasn’t difficult to keep the space warm when we stayed up in February (-2°c). Don’t miss out on the experience. Eliot

My friends and I had a great time at The Steading. Alex was a great host, and we found it very easy to find the location with the detailed directions given. The details Fiona provided were very accurate and allowed us to come prepared. We found the lodging very clean and cozy, perfect for our weekend away.

Definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants an escape from city life. We saw more stars at night here than we ever have in our lives. The steading itself is basic but it’s so cosy once you’ve got the fire on. Alex who owns the farm is so lovely and friendly. We’ll be returning!

Great place to stay any weather as there is a fire to keep you cosy and warm. The only disappointment is that we didn’t book another night. :)

Basic but wonderful place to stay

Had a wonderful stay at the steading, location is ideal for a calming retreat away from cities and the views are to die for! There are places to have gorgeous walks and the nearest towns are very sweet. Had the best 2 days at the steading, a bit draughty but surprisingly toasty once the fire is going for a bit! Also we were very surprised when we arrived as there were copious amounts of bedding and towels had been provided for us. My boyfriend wants to go back already!

Great location. First time away with our dog who also had a good time. Lots of good walks, short car journey to Allendale where pubs serve good food and even better pints.

Lovely funky little place, beautiful scenery, was a shame we had rain! There are chickens roaming about outside of the house and sheep in the fields nearby. Julia and her husband were so friendly and welcoming and have local recommendations. The place is very cosy with a huge log fire, we had a lovely time ☺️

The Glass House is a stunning space I a stunning landscape. Perfect escape to the country with our black lab who loved the countless walks from the front door. Highly recommend and hope to be back one day!

We went away for a couple of nights and it was great. A cute little barn with everything we needed. And very very cosy. Enjoyed the fact that there was no WiFi and poor signal, made us appreciate the time together more and the lush views rather than being distracted. Very muddy in the wet as you'd expect but didn't let it put us off. Some lovely walks to be had.

Amazing space! Beautifully furnished and heated floor was lovely on a cold, wet evening.

Had the most amazing stay. So tranquil and secluded. The house is so impressive, spotlessly clean and comfortable. Anything you need - it’s there. We used the log burner and the underfloor heating made it so warm and cosy on a windy, winters night. The whole place is just really special. 10 minutes in the car to nice little pubs and great food at the golden lion in Allendale. Julia is so quick to respond and leaves you to your own devices but you know she’s around should you need anything. A really unique place and beautiful surroundings. Can imagine it’s gorgeous in summer with the BBQ and lovely little garden. Thank you Julia!!!
