Places to stay in Whitestone
Welcome to beautiful Whitestone Lake, this cottage is available all four seasons! Enjoy boating to ice cream, nearby breakfasts, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, golfing, skiing, snowmobiling, hiking, sailing, waterskiing, wakeboarding & so much more! You’ll love the cottage- so quiet & serene with gorgeous sunlight, trees, the clear lake, the dock, the beachfront, the fireplace, and especially the fresh air. It's great for couples getaways, solo adventurers, families (with kids), & furry friends.
This is a great cottage to unwind in. In the summer, there is a dock as well as a beach, a paddle boat, a canoe, and 2 kayaks for your use (all included in the price of your stay). The BBQ is excellent for cooking up some dinner or snacks, and the patio can seat everyone for a nice outdoor meal. In the fall you can enjoy some great hikes and walks in the area as the leaves change colour. Cozy sweaters and blankets fireside in the living room is fantastic, and a nice hot coffee in the morning by the dock makes for perfect start to the day! The cottage has been completely renovated in 2011, it is strong and secure for all types of weather. In the winter you can enjoy the snow all around you, do some snow-shoeing or cross country skiing. An excellent spot for snowmobiling and ice fishing as well! Starting the summer of 2018 we are offering the "bunkie" 1970's vintage trailer as an additional room if guests would like to use it for $30CAD extra per night (it has power with lights and a fan included). Please let me know if you will want this!
Whitestone Lake is a fantastic lake to enjoy. It is large enough to accomodate water skiiers and tubers, and yet quiet enough for kayakers and paddleboarders. The neighbourhood is quiet, other people cottaging and a few locals. Nearby you can get to Dunchurch for some great little breakfast and dinner spots, as well as ice cream and local variety stores. McKellar has ice cream as well, and a cafe, and a farm shop with fresh meats. Parry Sound is your best bet for close by major amenities such as WalMart, Sobeys, Home Depot, Pet Value, and Starbucks, which is about 20 minutes away.
  • We really enjoy our stay at Erica's house, the place is very beautiful and perfectly arranged. The kitchen is also well furnished which is not very usual and the view outside of the cottage is fantastic. Erica was very easy going with us. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a confortable and typical Canadian cottage.

  • The cottage is in a great location. We spend a day snowshoeing across the frozen lake and had the best time. We came back and warmed up by the indoor fire and watched some movies. Very relaxing time away. The cottage was well stocked with games and movies for a great time away.

  • Erica's place is very nice and comfortable. It is located right at the lake which is visible from the living area. The surrounding area is very nice to go for a quick walk too. Erica's instructions were very detailed and easy to follow. Overall, its a great location to spend time with friends and family!

  • Very beautiful quiet place ..💖

  • Erica's place exceeded expectations. All the comforts of home but with a true cottage-y vibe. Their attention to detail and organized living space was such a welcome surprise. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook all our meals, and the little touches (like mat for dog's water bowls, HUGE dvd collection and snowshoes) made us feel so at home. We loved our relaxing time here, everything was easy to use and well labeled. Hopefully we can come back soon!

  • Erica's place is lovely. The view of the woods and expansive lake is stunning, and faces east so you get the morning sun! Erica was super communicative and accommodating. The few neighbors are welcoming (our ice fishing auger wasn't working very well and two of the neighbors came out to lend us theirs and just to chat!!). The space is so peaceful and relaxing. Will definitely be going back!!

    Amelia2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • This was the perfect getaway. The cottage is situated in the perfect location, on the lake down a quiet road, and Erica was a terrific host who was always quick to respond to our questions. We would definitely go back!

  • Beautiful place. Gorgeous cabin with such thoughtful details. Loved the record player and bottle of wine they left us. Once you get used to the compost toilet it’s easy to use. Very cozy, clean and romantic. The hot tub was so enjoyable even in the chilly fall weather. Would definitely come back!

  • Absolutely loved our stay! Perfect for a quiet retreat, yet close enough to towns such as Parry Sound for a day out! We visited a local brewery, pubs, and Parry Sound Golf and Country Club. The attention to detail and special touches in the cottage itself are outstanding. We visited in October, and there were even pumpkins on the front porch. So welcoming!! I couldn't help but snap a photo of everything! We spent quite a bit of time hanging out by the dock, or having morning coffee on the side deck. We would love to return! Thank you for a memorable stay.

  • Loved the place. Nice and cozy, lovely hot tub & quiet getaway. Norman was awesome when there was minor communication error . Would definitely return.

  • We were expecting great things from the pictures and the other reviews we saw but it was even better than we expected. Such a beautiful cozy place. Felt right at home. It was spotless, and super comfortable . Just the perfect spot for our 25th Anniversary. It was quiet and private. Hot tub was an added bonus. Beautiful area. Special touches that made it extra special for us. Hostesses were awesome. Super easy checkin/out. Will make it a yearly thing.

    Stephanie2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Great quiet place with lots of things to do within the area. Very clean and the remodeling made the place look brand new. Perfect time of year to go and enjoy the fall colors. Would definitely come back!

    Rachel2019-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • We were greeted upon check in with a bottle of wine, which was so incredibly sweet and very much appreciated. This was our first child free trip away in 4 year and it was perfect. The cottage was exactly what we were looking for and needed, it was spotlessly clean, well decorated and cozy. The location was perfect, a close walk to the water and we were lucky enough to experience the beautiful fall colours and the hot tub was the perfect place to relax in the crisp fall air. We had an amazing weekend and came home well rested, we will definitely be returning next year.

    Mellissa2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic place. Very close to the water. Cozy, great host. As a treat, they gave us a bottle of wine for a honeymoon. Unexpected and very appreciated.

    Alejandro2019-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I traveled with our 6 year old twin boys and our 110 pound lab Dawson. This cabin was everything we thought it was going to be. - the weather got really cool so we made good use of the hot tub - the canoe was so incredible. Brought up life jackets for the boys. Adult life jackets provided at cabin. - beautiful wrap around deck with beautiful comfy furniture. - lake is about a 2 min walk from the cabin - the top sleep area was a fun area for kids to sleep. I kept bumping my head so I wouldn’t recommend it for 4 adults. - cabin was brilliantly clean. Many beautiful touches, my favourite being the stained glass window in the kitchen. - A bottle of wine was also there as a gift. There were packs of popcorn, a bunch of fresh potatoes to make fries with, a bag of travel items just in case a guest forgot something, tons of games and dvds, shampoo/conditioner/body wash, records, cds - neighbours were very polite and we had no trouble with other dogs wondering if the property - there is a close neighbour on the right just a stones throw away. Kim was a fantastic host! - we had no water pressure upon arrival. Texted Kim and she came right over to help. The pump was off so it was an easy fix. - we ran out of toilet paper and Kim responded to us right away. There was extra in storage under the queen bed. - the propane tank was empty by our 3rd day. Kim came straight away to get us a new one. - she made us feel so welcome and took care of us like family.

Water activities include fishing, where bass, pickerel, pike, and perch can be caught. What better holiday than to while away the time with a fishing line hanging from your boat as you ease down the Magnetawan River. The river gets fairly deep fairly quickly, with the water depth at the end of the dock being about 5 ft at lowest water levels. There is a private waterfront area to wade in with water shoes. There are walking and bike trails in the area. In the winter, you can do some snowshoeing or cross country skiing, or use your snowmobile to explore the many trails in the area.
Our cottage is located on Maple Island with road access year-round. The neighbourhood is quiet and peaceful. There are some other cottages and locals on the island, but once you're on the property you'll feel very secluded. The cottage is situated on calm waters of the Magnetawan river with 3 miles of fishing access between two sets of rapids. If you're adventurous, take the canoe and portage all the way to Georgian Bay. For the less adventurous, paddle the river shores and take some serene pictures. In the winter, the cottage is centrally located to a series of snowmobile trails with a trail access a short distance away on Hwy 520. Nearby you can visit Dunchurch for a bite to eat at the local restaurants, as well as get some infamous Kawartha ice cream at the general store! You can also spend the day and rent a boat from the Dunchurch marina to enjoy some water sports. We're also not far from Magnetawan, where you can find more food options and the well-renowned Magnetawan Farmer's market that takes place every Saturday from the May Long Weekend to Thanksgiving. Parry Sound is the best place for major amenities, such as Walmart, Sobeys, Canadian Tire, Home Depot, Pet Value, and Starbucks/Tim Hortons. Parry Sound hosts many activities, including the Island Queen Cruise. Once you book with us, we will send you a detailed Welcome guide with all our insider recommendations!
  • Our family of five spent two days at Shirley's cottage in March. The views of the lake are wonderful. It was snowing one of the mornings and the view was so surreal. The cottage is well equipped with everything you might need. The pantry and kitchen were more than abundantly stocked. The entire cottage was spotless and clean. The Master bedroom is HUGE. As a bonus, our boys enjoyed the view at night of a star-filled clear sky.

    Bonnie2020-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Shirley’s cottage at Maple Island was a wonderful experience for our family. The kids spent a lot of time outside and tobogganed and cross country skied on the frozen river. The beds were comfortable and bedrooms well spaced out. Lots of suggestions for what the area offers in an extensive guidebook Shirley has created. We can’t wait to come back again!

    Allison2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • We spent a very nice weekend in a wonderful cottage. Shirley is a very nice superhost. The location is perfect for a retreat with a wonderful view on the lake.

    Franck2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic time at the cottage!

    Robert2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Shirley's cottage was great for a winter weekend of tobogganing and snowmobiling. There was lots of room for two families of 4 and I especially appreciate not having to pack everything but the kitchen sink since lots of kitchen items were included (condiments, foil, tea, coffee). The beds are comfortable and the view from the cottage outstanding. Thanks again!

    Garry And Melissa2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Shirley's place was great for us with a ten min ride to the trails and lots of room for our gear and the snowmobiles we really enjoyed our stay Thanks

    Bryan2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • We had an excellent stay at Shirley's place last weekend. We had absolutely zero complaints and managed to get some ice fishing in right in the backyard. Ice conditions fluctuated greatly considering it is a river so be very careful. We found areas that had nearly a foot of ice with other areas having less than two inches. Overall it was a great stay.

    Tyler2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Shirley’s home is a very nice, Large and spacious cottage well spent with our 2 families on New Years. Very clean and offers every amenity you could think of. The fire place in the basement was nice have after playing outside all day with the kids! The jacuzzi tub was well loved by the kids also. However, the water pressure was very low - but to be expected considering the source of water. Surprisingly enough ice that the men tried to ice fish. All around great stay

    Emily2020-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • Loved our stay! Quiet and relaxing. Great views from the screened in porch. Made us feel like we were outside but still protected from the bugs/rain! Also, lots of property to explore and enjoy. We especially enjoyed the sauna and hot tub. Sandy beach was great too. Most everything that we needed (other than our food and personal items) was provided which was very convenient. (Ie: towels, games, tea, coffee, bug spray and more!) We will be be back!

    Megan2019-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time! So comfortable and cozy. The sauna and hot tub are perfect. The host will tell you to be wary of locking the door - we forgot about this and ended up locked outside. There are solutions, but be very careful about the door! Other than that, great weekend.

    William2019-03-31T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I stayed at this home in February of 2019 and we absolutely loved it! The home is well stocked for cooking, having a bbq, toaster oven, hot plate, slow cooker, microwave, pots, pans, cutlery and plates, cups and bowls to use. Though there is really only a kitchenette with no kitchen sink, it wasn’t difficult to wash dishes after use using the water from the bathroom sink. The hot tub was so nice! We soaked in it every night, including during a blizzard. During said blizzard, the power flickered a couple of times but there was nothing to worry about as the whole house has a back up solar generator and battery back up. The sauna was a nice touch, super nice to come home to after snow shoeing, skating and ice fishing. There is satellite TV as well as a large stock of dvds should you choose to stay indoors during your trip. The outdoors, however, was why we were there. We spent the first day snow shoeing across the frozen lake which was such a neat experience. That same day we were told by the owners that we should check out Cranberry Farms skating. We did an evening skate on a 1.2km trail around the cranberry pond. This was lit up entirely by tiki torches which was such a neat experience! The second day there we did ice fishing on Lake Nipissing with Snowfari Adventures. It’s about an hour and twenty minutes away, and $50/person per day. Totally recommend them! This stay was all around wonderful! Definitely recommend this Airbnb rental!

    Jen2019-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage style house is one of the best I've seen. Tucked away in a nook, it is all you could ever ask for, especially if you are looking for a quiet place to relax and revel in the nature around. The hot tub is amazing and the sauna is a nice treat. I would give this place 6 stars if I could.

  • Allisons place is beautiful! It was very clean and tidy when I arrived. The view is amazing. When I got there, there wasn't any snow but when we woke up there was lots of snow and the view was so nice! I highly recommend this place. Very quiet surrounding and lots of privacy. Had a wonderful time here and enjoyed the lake very much! Thanks for having me Allison!

  • Great beautiful place with an awesome location. Highly recommend!

    Tomas2019-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at the cottage. Amazing view of the lake and the surrounding area had lots of hiking and exploring to do. A great place to rest and rejuvenate.

    Ryan2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • We went to enjoy thanksgiving long weekend and left with beautiful memories. Allison’s cottage is located at height with a breathtaking view. We have never enjoyed Fall colours to this extent before😊 The living space is aesthetically decorated with spectacular view, kitchen with all basic amenities is an added advantage. The walk to the dock is beyond words to express as our four years old went all the way down with his dad to catch fish. We highly recommend for families who want to throughly enjoy fall or any other season without leaving cottage.

    Bilal2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • It's a beautiful cottage, had a really wonderful trip and Allison was super prompt to answer whenever we reached out. Will happily visit again!

    Jennifer2019-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • The view from the living room is unbeatable! I don’t think I’ve come across an AirBnb which has a more spectacular view than this one!

This beautiful newly built cottage (2019) plus bunkie, on scenic Whitestone Lake is gorgeous in every season! The giant great room and wall of windows looking over the lake sparkles blue in the summer and white in the winter. In the summer, the dock has a perfect spot for jumping in or sunning in Muskoka chairs all day long. The cozy vintage yet upscale combo of this cottage really makes it feel like you have fully arrived in your classic northern home. We can't wait for you to see it yourself!
-Myself and my sister Lisa and our families have together re-built our old cottage (well, taken it down!) to bring you this brand new piece of our hearts. We have made it with you in mind, as well as our large family! With 7 little children between our two families, the space is very family friendly! It is also an excellent spot for friends to enjoy some time relaxing and enjoying the north. We want you to know that there are some details to attend to, we have a list of to-do's that we are working on each time we get there! (small things mind you! Like a new drawer pull etc). -The interior was finished in March 2019 but the exterior landscaping is a work in progress as the spring melt occurs. We will be attending to the yard as nature permits! -The bunkie is a 3 season building that has a bunkbed (double/single) as well as a baseboard heater and an a/c unit. -Our Dad, Harry, lives on the property in his own separate building. He is very private and will not be around unless you need something. See the last 2 photos for relevance of how close his place is. -We are pet friendly!
Whitestone Lake is a great community that has a very small town feel. There is one convenience store and gas station in Dunchurch where you can also get ice cream cones. At the end of the main road to get into the cottage there is a home that sells their home made maple syrup, you gotta try it. Parry Sound has practically everything else you may need (including Starbucks) and is only a short drive away.
  • Spent 3 beautiful days escaping the city. It was only the two of us and our dog but this would be a great place for large groups as well. Master bedroom also comes with a lake view, we both agreed that it was one of the most comfortable beds we’ve ever slept in. Highly recommend!

  • The house is exactly as shown, it is beautiful! Ten of us came for a week of snowmobiling and we were out daily on wonderful trails. The bedrooms were spacious, the beds and pillows were comfortable. There is plenty of room in the open area for 10 to sit together. There is enough seating around the table for 10. The kitchen is set up well for meal preparation with a couple chefs at a time. Ample amounts of dishwasher soap, laundry soap, paper towels, toilet paper, aluminum foil etc, and shampoo were all included. Other places have told us they were included but they left less than needed. Make sure you have space for vehicles. It was pretty tight and Harry was not home at the time. We would highly recommend this lodging and plan to come back in the future.

  • Our first experience with air B&B was absolutely amazing. As a 46 year old mom of a combined family, with 4 busy children with their little families and careers it makes it quite difficult for all of us to get together as often as a mom would want :) but this cottage allowed us to share in a memorable weekend in comfort.. The facility is extremely clean, you walk in and feel right at home. You're not dreaming of owning a cottage while your there, your taking in all the moments and memories as if this is yours.. It truly feels like home.. Everything you need is at your disposal, we lacked of nothing but saranwrap lol.. Rooms is very spacious and the layout is perfect ... We enjoyed the hill beside the cottage for sliding and kids loved it. Driveway got done before we even woke up and was up kept nicely.. I was a tad concerned with review of how close Harry is to the cottage and how others voiced the lack of privacy but one of my personal highlights was meeting Harry Sunday morning as he was cleaning around our cars, got to meet him and chat a little .. to see a father so proud of what his children have done and can offer to others is what family is all about and that just there made us want to come back.. Recomend this place to anyone looking to share in some spacious family memories. Thank you again from Chelmsford Ont

  • Our first Christmas cottage and it was fantastic! The cottage is so cozy and clean! The kitchen is modern and they practically have everything you need to prepare meals. I loved how the place was baby/toddler friendly and pet friendly. Bonus was having a Christmas tree set up by the fireplace. It was truly very beautiful! I cant wait to come back in the summer because the lake is super close. The lower level with 3 bedrooms did get pretty chilly but they provide space heaters or you can bring one too. They have a huge selection of movies to watch and a ping pong table in the basement. Our only issue was dropping off the garbage and recycling to the landfill which is a short drive away. It is only open a few days of the week. Other than that, thank you for the wonderful stay! :)

    Alexandra2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Erik & Lisa’s place was such a wonderful stay for my extended family and all of our little ones. The kids has such a wonderful time outside and indoors. It was so wonderful not to pack toys or a high chair because everything is there. The kitchen was also well equipped and the space ideal for family cooking. The space was great for building memories and we look forward to visiting again!

Red Roof Cottage provides a fantastic cottage experience in Dunchurch, ON for families, couples and small groups of friends. We can accommodate groups up to 9 people with 3 bedrooms + a bunkie, 2 washrooms, fully equipped kitchen, Propane BBQ, Internet, Satellite TV, DVD, and laundry. Please note: The bunkie is not heated or insulated and we don't recommend its use past the end of September. In summer we only accept bookings in 7-day increments (7, 14, 21 etc) with Friday check in/out.
Guests at Red Roof Cottage can enjoy dinner on the deck, lounging in several seating areas on the property, afternoons on the water either paddling in the canoe and kayaks or lounging on the floater mat and evenings by the campfire. -
Whitestone Lake is a gem in the Parry Sound region. It's big enough to explore for a week's stay, but small enough to avoid the congestion of Muskoka. The water is warm, clean and highly swimmable, with an abundance of fish for our angling guests. The local general store offers some of the most generous servings of ice cream in Canada and there is a liquor store and restaurant in town. Parry Sound is a scenic, 25 minute drive away with abundance of shopping and tourist attractions.
  • This cottage was a delightfully cozy place to spend a quiet fall weekend. It was super well equipped for cooking some nice meals and the wood stove kept us toasty and warm. The area is gorgeous and we were lucky enough to catch the tail end of the gorgeous fall foliage. The babbling brook that runs next to the cottage lulled us to sleep each night and the view from the living room was beautiful. It was a perfect little escape. Thanks, Christelle and Jon!

    Jennifer2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • Great place with amazing view. We had a great time. Jon and Christelle are a great host and they were very helpful. You won’t be disappointed.

    Afsi2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Christelle and Jon were amazing hosts!!! They exceeded all my expectations for a cottage rental. The location of the cottage was absolutley breathtaking. It was surrounded by enormous trees displaying the gorgeous colors of fall and the peaceful sound of a river flowing adjacent to the cottage. Walking into the cottage, you can see the love and pride taken into this cottage as well as for the people they rent it too. They left a beautiful bottle of wine and a s'mores kit for my kids for our arrival. The cottage was clean beautifully, decorated, and included many extras for our use. I highly recommend this gem of a rental and hope to return in the summer.

    Sandra2019-10-06T00:00:00Z

  • Christelle and Jon maintain a beautiful and comfortable cottage in a great location. There was ample space for our party of 8 to gather together without feeling crowded. The cottage is well equipped with everything you’ll need to feel at home.

    Cora2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage was comfortable, clean, cozy, nicely decorated, and the privacy around the cottage was superb! We spent a lot of time at the dock on the comfortable Adirondack chairs. The kayaks and canoe were great too. I loved the super comfy master bed!! The DVD and book collection was handy to use.

    Dayna2019-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was very comfortable and felt like I was staying at my own house. There were all amenities available, easily accessible. The lake was beautiful and very inviting. We enjoyed kayaking and canoeing. It was a very memorable weekend in Christelle & Jon’s cottage. Thank you for sharing your cottage with us.

This is our little lake cottage, we are new owners but take pride in what we own. The cottage is cozy and up to date. We feel it is homely with a little bit of nature thrown in there. It has amazing views from both Armstrong and Mckellar lake. The cottage itself sits on Armstrong lake has great fishing potential, and a great garden for lazing around on those summer days. It has amazing walks, offers trails for summer and snow-mobiling in winter. Come and stay, you won't be disappointed.
Our cottage is utilised in every way, pretty open concept living room and kitchen. Master bedroom has adjacent main bathroom as well as a smaller bedroom which has a single bed and a crib. Other bedroom has low adult bunk beds. And there is also a pull out couch in the livingroom
The village is quiet and rural, it has amazing trails for both the summer and winter. Like Snow- mobiling and snow- shoeing, also ice fishing on both lakes by the cottage. Or just relaxing and taking time out. There is a country store which has an LCBO, and there is also a traditional farm store. Fresh meats and eggs daily. A drive down the road about 5-10minutes is the Ridge at Manitou. This is both a Hotel offering dining in and a golf course.
  • Such a wonderful & cozy spot for a getaway! Everything exceeded expectations, and Jenny was amazing to communicate with both before, and during our stay! One of our best Airbnb experiences to date!

It was a great size with access to a small quiet lake. We enjoyed using the kayak that Jenny and Joe made available to us. If golfing at The Ridge at Manitou, this was a great location. Jenny and Joe were quick for respond and touched base with us during our stay. Thank you for a wonderful time. I would definitely recommend this place for a peaceful cottage retreat!

  • Lovely spot in beautiful cottage country. The dock and lake are amazing, and there are lots of things to do at Christian's place (board games, kayaking, relaxing in the hammock, and many more).

    Gilleen2019-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • Christian was a very responsive host. The cottage was more than enough space than we needed which was fantastic! My husband, two children (ages 2 and 6), our family dog and parents all enjoyed 5 days, 4 nights at this beautiful oasis. We rented the speed boat which our family loved for fishing. We caught so much just fishing off the dock. The paddle boat and kayaks were included in the rental which were well used and very my appreciated. The neighbours Chris and Anne to the right are super friendly and welcoming. Our dogs enjoyed playing which each other! This is definitely a great cottage to rent and really look forward to visiting again soon. Thanks for everything, Christian!

We want to share our family cottage on Ahmic Lake with you. Our cottage is rustic with amenities to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. The cottage was built in 1969 and sits on a private road among other cottages. There are lots to see and do walking distance from our cottage, and even more downtown Magnetawan. We are situated right outside of Ahmic Lake Resort with a marina, small convenience store, playground and the Swiss Country House Restaurant. Dogs are welcome!
If you're looking to hunker down and hang out at the cottage, our dock is large enough to relax on or jump off to swim. We have games and some movies to keep you busy if the weather isn't cooperating.
Our cottage is less than 40 minutes from Huntsville and Parry Sound if you're looking to stock up on supplies or to visit the area. Downtown Magnetawan is less than 15 minues away, where there's a sandy beach, grocery store, Home Hardware, a tap into a natural spring for free and clean drinking water, a few restaurants, and little shops/markets. Don't feel like cooking one night? You are walking distance to the Swiss Country House Restaurant. If you'd like to hit the lake for some fishing, Ahmic Harbour Resort is right next door to the restaurant where you can rent any vessel they have available. If you're bringing the kids, a park is also in the vicinity where you can greet some bunnies and goats on the way.
  • This place is in a very pretty spot, right on the water. The cottage is located behind an extremely clean and well-run trailer park. We rented a boat from the resort which was convenient. We also ate at the resort restaurant and the food was outstanding!

    Lynn2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Our hosts were extremely prompt to respond to questions. We found everything to be as described. There is no floor space in the bedrooms with the double sized beds. We accessed our belongings from the main room. Be sure to arrive before dark and bring some drinking water!!

    Ruth2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • You'll love the view and the location - can't get any better!

    Kirsten2019-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • If you’re looking for a cozy lakefront getaway this is the place for you! The hosts are super accommodating and have just about everything you need. They were quick in their responses, and when our son accidentally broke something their only concern was his safety. Great people. The general store/LCBO is a short drive away but we didn’t really leave once we were there. They let you use their grill and all kitchen appliances, so all we really brought was food and our clothes. They have plenty of chairs and towels for all guests that come with you. Will definitely try and stay here next summer!

  • We had a wonderful weekend at Emily's cottage. We were very surprised of how nice it is to wake up in such amazing place. You have everything you need and more! Having lunch a the dock is priceless!! Thank you Emily!!

    Fernando2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing time. Everything we needed was in the cottage including all the little things you often forget. The water was beautiful the kids could swim right off the dock. The floating dock was a great bonus. Enjoyed nightly campfires and marshmallow roasting. The fishing was good as well the hubby and the boys caught quite a few fish. The resort has a playpark for the kids that was also a bonus and they loved the little animal farm. This was a great stay we absolutely loved it.

  • What a beautiful getaway! If you're looking for some peace and quiet in a gorgeous cottage, this is the place. Lynn is an incredible host and is very responsive should you need anything. The cottage is stocked with everything you'd need, has access to a number of great activities (whether you're there in winter or summer) and has a nice homey feel. I can't recommend this place enough. Thanks so much for letting us stay here Lynn!

    Brandon2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Lynn is amazing and very accommodating. The cabin is beautiful and amenities are pristine.

    Zoe2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is amazing, has everything you need and more. Beautiful setting, clean, well kept and Lynn was great in keeping in touch with us. We would definitely want to come back and stay for longer.

  • This place is an absolute gem - from the amenities to the location to the absolutely beautiful views and endless activities - we couldn’t have asked for more. Lynn was also so kind and welcoming and showed us around the place when we got there - we are already planning our next trip!! Thanks again Lynn! :)

    Kimberly2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a gem and truly a beautiful escape into nature. So many special touches, amazing views, spacious, the list goes on. Lynn greeted us when we arrived to show us around and it was much appreciated. We would love to come back for a week. Enjoyed every second of this beautiful cottage.

    Pamela2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage was the perfect location for a family reunion of 8 adults and 2 kids. The home has lots of charm and plenty of nooks for people to hang out in so we didn't feel cramped. Fantastic facilities for a large group and lots of features that make it toddler and infant friendly. Features a well stocked kitchen with all the necessary equipment for cooking some great meals and the themed bedrooms were a cute touch. Would definitely recommend for a cottage getaway for a large group of family or friends.

    Sarah2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Lynn and her husband John were outstanding hosts. The pictures on this listing do ABSOLUTELY no justice to how stunning the cottage and surrounding grounds are to the extent that it is truly paradise. The cottage and grounds were spotlessly clean and the cottage itself was fully stocked above and beyond anything you'd have in the best 5* hotel rooms. Lynn and John were superbly quick to respond to any questions/queries we had during our stay. They were extremely generous giving my three friends and I an hour and a half tour pontoon boat tour of the beautiful lake their cottage is on (Lake Was Wash Kesh). John has just started with drone photography too so he got a few 'air' photos of us on the dock and beach which were awesome. I cannot recommend this cottage and these hosts highly enough. The grounds and cottage itself are 10/10 in every aspect and Lynn and John are similarly 10/10 in every aspect of hosting. They are true gems and own the most beautiful property that must be experienced by anyone and everyone. Great place for a group of friends, a family or a romantic couple/s getaway!

    Mitchell2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • This place looks cool in the ad but photos don't do it justice. The private beach is amazing. The cottage has everything you could possibly think of needing, much more than what's listed. Little things like board games and beach toys!

  • Teresa is a fantastic host and the Lake House is a wonderful cottage to stay at. This was our family of 5's second visit and once again we found the entire experience to be outstanding. The walk out beach into the lake is perfect for kids! Thank you Teresa for another great stay.

    Rachel2018-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at Teresa's cottage with 7 of my friends for a girl's weekend. We stayed for 3 nights at the end of July. The cottage was amazing! The pictures do not even do it justice. Everything was very clean. The drive from Toronto took 2 hours and 45 minutes (we lucked out and had no traffic at all). The cottage was easy to find and had plenty of parking (we had 4 cars). The beds were all super comfortable and clean. There are 2 single beds in the bunkie (note: the bunkie does not have a bathroom), 1 queen bed, 1 double, and a bunk bed (both doubles). There is a small LCBO and convenience store only a 5 minute drive away that sells ice and basics. Teresa met us to give us the keys and show us around. The kitchen was stocked with basic cutlery, plates, cutting boards, cooking utensils, and salt and pepper. There are two BBQs on the deck. Both are a good size, so we only ended up using one. Teresa had some fresh flowers out on the kitchen table that was a nice welcoming touch. The cottage is private. There are neighbours on both sides that we were unable to see, although one of the neighbour's friendly dogs (Chico) did come over to visit everyone (which we did not mind at all!). The walk down to the dock looks long in the pictures, but it was no bother at all. In fact, we hung some battery operated string lights along the railing which made for a nice walk down in the evening. The water was warm and great for swimming. It was deep enough to jump off the dock, or you could enter from a small sandy private beach area. Most of our days we spent laying on the dock with towels, there is lots of room for several people to be on the dock at a time. Unfortunately we did not get an opportunity to use the canoe or the fire pit as there was a fire ban on at the time. Please note that you must take your garbage to the dump which is near by. Unfortunately the dump is often closed on Mondays, so we had to make a trip on Sunday, and then we took the last of our garbage back to Toronto with us in the car. I would definitely recommend Teresa's cottage. I hope to return again. If you are looking for a great place that is not too far from the city, don't hesitate to book! Teresa is a kind and attentive host.

    Carly2018-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • Teresa and Franks place is great! We made many happy family memories at their cottage. The place was very clean, comfortable and cozy. The location is great and we had lots of fun hanging out on the dock. The cottage was better then described. Will definately book their place again!

  • Great spot! The hosts were very responsive and helpful. Lovely lake and comfortable cottage!

    Amy2018-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • Teresa and Frank were fantastic hosts! The cottage was beautiful and the location couldn't have been better. We have 3 children under 5 and the cottage was spacious enough for all of us. The beach walkout into the lake was ideal for the kids. Teresa was a pleasure to communicate with and we will definitely be looking to book again in the future.

Situated on beautiful Ahmic lake, near the village of Magnetawan, Ontario, a peaceful retreat awaits. You’ll love the view, the lake, the seclusion, the relaxing atmosphere, and the nature. The cottage is great for couples, families (with kids), and big groups!
A peaceful cottage sitting on over an acre of land surrounded by trees offers plenty of sun by the beach on a quiet corner of the lake far from camps, and public beaches.
Situated on Ahmic Lake, just outside the hamlet of Ahmic Harbour.
  • This is a great cottage for young kids! My kids (ages 6.5, 3.5 and 3.5) loved the sand beach and many sand toys, chasing each other or a frisbee in the large yard and playing with the board games.

    Melany2019-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • What a welcome escape! We were completely happy with the location, easy water access and all the great water toys! The kids spent every night out on the water and even made it out to the small islands. The thoughtfulness of local attractions and shopping was also greatly appreciated. Highly recommend Brandon as a host.

    Anna2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • My husband, my 4 year old son and I stayed at Brandon's place for about a week in July. The house is large and comfortable and we had a really wonderful stay (wish it could've been longer!). We took the boats on the water and swam on the beach. The view from the couch onto the lake was just beautiful. The towels, linens, beds, and the kitchen were quite nice. It was just so relaxing and wonderful! Thank you!

Welcome to our cabin overlooking the Poverty Bay Chutes on the mighty Magnetawan River. If you have dreamed of cottaging in the landscape of a Group of Seven painting, this is the cabin for you! Our picture perfect place was featured as ‘Cottage of the Week’ in Toronto Life Magazine where it was described as a haven for kayakers and canoers, but it also suits writers, artists, and wine drinkers! This property has 1 Queen(s), 1 Full(s), & 2 Twin airmattesses in rustic bunkie.
Our completely renovated 1977 classic Viceroy cottage boasts a large deck with a spectacular view of the rapids and Georgian Bay rocky shoreline. Trust us, the pictures don’t do it justice! The rapids will lull you to sleep in our two lovely bedrooms (queen & double beds) or take a nap or read a book on the comfy single sofa in the living area. There is a bunkie with twin airmattresses for extra guests. You can fish for pickerel, perch or rock bass right off the big rocks at the rapids edge, or take a short walk to a peaceful, private swimming oasis. The cottage is equipped with a canoe and adult life jackets. The canoe launch is situated two properties over and our canoe is fitted with wheels to get you there safely.
Only a ten-minute drive into Magnetawan, the historic northern Canadian town boasts 3 restaurants from family pubs to fine dining, a Saturday morning market, and an art gallery. The district is filled with history including ghost towns and pioneer cemeteries for the history buff. A 30 minute drive will get you into the larger towns of Parry Sound, Burks Falls or Sundridge.
  • A very unique place to stay with the waterfall/rapids right in front of the cottage. My wife and kids loved it, and we are planning to go back in the future.

  • My stay at Linda’s cottage was comfortable and cozy. All necessities and a few extras were provided and Linda was very helpful and understanding. She was generous and thoughtful.

    Laurie2019-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had the most wonderful time staying here. Linda is an incredibly thoughtful host, who left our 3 year old daughter plenty of activities to enjoy during our stay. There is so much to do, both at the cottage, and in the surrounding area. Or, you could just grab a book and relax by the water - the rapids are really something to behold. Any kind of vacation that you want, you can absolutely have! We spent a week here, and it seemed to fly by. I can't say enough glowing things about not only the cottage itself, but about Linda. She is amazing, and wonderful to communicate with. You will not regret staying here. It really is a gem of a find.

    Shelley2019-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay here was extraordinary... I just couldn’t get enough of the chutes and rapids. It is such a pristine and beautiful place. My 14 year old son enjoyed fishing off the big rock(s) and we spent some time swimming as well in the nearby swimming holes. The wrap around deck is the perfect spot to read or knit or sit and play games with the kids. The cottage is VERY comfortable, clean and secure and you get a spectacular view thru the bay window both morning and night. It was chilly for a day or so while we were visiting...it made for the perfect conditions to wrap myself in a blanket and sit on the deck in the morning with my coffee and book. It was so wonderful...I didn’t want to leave. Linda is a fabulous host and is available any time via phone/text if need be. Thanks again Linda for a wonderful stay!

    Wendy2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • This is a magical spot that provided us with an exceptional and unique Ontario experience. Linda went over and above to make us feel welcome, leaving treats and special activities for the kids, plus breakfast and delicious tarts in the fridge. Although we didn't have the pleasure of meeting Linda, we feel like we know her through her detailed and courteous communication. The cabin has style, character, comfort, and everything you need. The falls are breathtaking and the sound soothing...standing in the same spot as one of the Group of Seven painters did decades ago. Our children (aged 11 to 14 and us 45 year olds!) enjoyed fishing and swimming in the warm, rushing waters, plus the calm lagoon down the way! We hope to go back for longer next time. Outstanding holiday that we will never forget!

  • We stayed at Kim’s for a night as we were driving up to Killarney for a camping trip. The beds were wonderful with extra soft sheets, the place was very clean and the fans with the large windows made for comfortable sleeping and great fresh air. The outdoor shower was a unique touch and fun for my son to experience. We would certainly stay here again. Thanks Kim!

  • Very clean, welcoming, and comfortable! We really enjoyed our stay. The water and homemade muffins were a very nice touch.

  • The McKellar Lake Loft is your best bet if you plan on travelling to Parry Sound to golf at the Ridge at Manitou. It is close, convenient, clean and a far better experience than staying at your ordinary everyday motel. This was my first experience trying an AirBnB and it definitely will not be my last! Although any future AirBnB's have some high standards to try to beat. Kim and Rod are excellent hosts! I highly recommend giving them a visit if you plan on being in the Parry Sound area.

    Mike2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Kim’s place was great. Absolutely clean, comfortable and quiet. We only had 1 night but I would highly recommend Kim’s place. My daughters loved your muffins. Thank you.

This is a rustic space, please be prepared to be surrounded by nature, not luxury, and enjoy the simplicity of our basic accommodations. -
Our mission is to help our guests create beautiful memories in our cozy and rustic lakeside cabin. This is a cozy cottage, with a beautiful large deck overlooking the bay. Bedrooms are rustic and furniture is mismatched, be prepared to enjoy nature (and the occasional spiders/bugs/ants indoors), not luxury. The kitchen appliances are modern and basic kitchen amenities are supplied. Be prepared to bring drinking water, hand wash dishes (or bring disposable dishes), use an outhouse, and swim in the lake to freshen up (there is no shower). The lake is great for swimming, fishing and a canoe (and PFDs) are available for guests. The cottage is more suitable for older kids (6+).
This is a quiet lakeside getaway, but you can see our neighbours on both sides
  • We had a great time relaxing and unwinding at Kattrin’s comfortable rustic cottage! The cottage was beautifully simple, clean and organized. The deck, perched up in the trees overlooking the lake, was a perfect spot to sit back and relax and contemplate life. Our adult children were more adventurous and used the canoe to explore the lake. The canoe was easy to access, and easy to carry to and from the dock. We really enjoyed our experience here and would definitely go back again!

What a wonderful experience if you are looking for privacy? On the Magnetawan River you can relax in the natural rock jacuzzi in gentle rapids or swim in deep pools surrounded by rock and pine. Sit on the wrap around deck with the sound of the river.
With the music of the river as a backdrop, neighbours not visible, you can be sure of a good nights sleep with great beds and linen, screened windows and virtually no car traffic. The sounds of peace, quiet and the joy of comfort. Next to crown land you feel very much secluded.
Falling Water cottage is at the bend of two beautiful rapids on the Magnetawan River. The cottage is high on the hill with a wraparound deck facing the river. We are beside crown land and no neighbours can be seen from the cottage on the other side. The Almaguin Highlands has much to offer in natural beauty, bike trails, lakes, lovely villages with interesting charm. The best night life is the vast sky of stars and the joy of being outside to see it.
  • This was our second stay at Falling Water's, the sound of the river brings you peace of mind and the cottage is so comfortable all your needs are looked after. If you are looking for rest and relaxation this is your place. Thanks Penny!

    Jamie & Lisa2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • We spent a relaxing week at Penny's waterfront oasis. The rugged wilderness view from the cottage and the deck is stunning. And, you are always being soothed by the sound of water falling over the rapids out front. We had many hours of enjoyment swimming & paddling in the rapids, and lots of successful fishing up & down the river. Very interesting to see the river level change throughout the course of the week. The hammock was a perfect place to get lost in a good read. The cottage itself is not fancy- it has a rustic charm that was a great fit for what we were looking for. There are plenty of books, puzzles, movies and games to fill the evenings or a rainy day. The bedrooms are updated, & we found the beds super comfy. Penny is a great host, she kept us well informed and we felt very welcome throughout our stay. We had the pleasure of meeting her at her unique store in nearby Sundridge. Sundridge had everything we needed to resupply mid week. We're very thankful to Penny for sharing her place, & hope to return again.

  • Cottage is spacious, clean and welcoming. Beautiful view from the deck. Penny is always available to answer your questions. The river is very clean and lots of fun to swim in. Fishing right off the dock was amazing. Would highly recommend and would love to come back.

  • Falling Waters is a truly magical place nestled on the Magnetawan river. The soothing sound and visual spectacle of the rapids create a relaxing utopia enjoyable from the moment you wake and pour your coffee until you lay your head down and drift off to sleep hearing it's hypnotic lullaby. The water was higher than normal for our stay so we were also able to satisfy our adventurous side by putting on our life jackets and riding the white water. Our kids absolutely loved playing in the rapids. The cottage was warm, cozy, and welcoming. Newly made memories melded and intertwined with memories of the past adding to the feeling of home making our stay more comfortable with each passing minute. A WIDE variety of games, books, and movies are available when you want to change things up from enjoying life outside the cottage. Penny is an amazing host, not to mention a wonderful and caring person. It was a pleasure meeting and connecting with her. If you are looking for a place to unplug, unwind, recharge your body/mind/soul, or simply get back to family basics, then this is one of those perfect places. You do not need to think about it, just book it, and go! You will not regret it!

  • Excellent and well put together cottage - terrific access to the river and a very dramatic setting. Penny was easy to communicate with and responded quickly to any and all inquiries.

  • This property is gorgeous!! Came up here with some friends and had a wonderful time relaxing, swimming, and cooking. Well stocked cottage and nice bedrooms. Resupplying during our stay wasn't an issue with Sunridge only being around a 20 min drive away. I would highly recommend this cottage for a family or group of friends looking for a private getaway during the summer.

  • A beautiful and clean cottage worthy of a repeat visit for sure. My family of 7 adults had a lovely Thanksgiving weekend at Bob's cottage. The home is right on a beautiful lake, with canoes and a firepit so you can soak up every minute of Muskoka heaven. Highly recommended for longer stays as well.

    Jennifer2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Bob’s cottage was wonderful - it had all the amenities we needed and was the perfect size for our group of 9. We had a great time and will definitely be back.

  • Amazing Waterfront property!!!If you are looking for a place to disconnect and enjoy nature then Bob's place is for you. Unfortunately no wifi and we couldn't get network coverage from Chatr. My husband had to drive to convenience store for coverage and check emails. We got to enjoy swimming in the lake. Water was warm and not too deep. Had use of 1 canoe and 1 paddle boat. When I needed a 15min personal space break from big loud family was able to sit on dock and watch the lake. We also enjoyed screened in sun room where we played boardgames. Thanks Bob and Roxanne :)

    Christine2019-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at Bob’s cottage. The location is beautiful and the cottage picturesque. There was plenty of room for six adults and four kids under 4. We got great use out of the beach and the water toys. The huge deck and screened in porch were an added bonus that we definitely took advantage of. Looking forward to coming back!

  • Silvi and Bruce are wonderful hosts and have provided a beautiful, well set up spot to get away and disconnect. The cottage itself was very clean and quite cute, with everything you need to have a great stay. The outdoor spaces (gallery and waterfront) are well set up to sit around, read a book, enjoy a meal... We spent a lot of time sitting in the Adirondack chairs on the dock. Take advantage of the canoe and/or the paddleboards.

    Laura2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Innugati was better then we expected. The cottage was beautiful and in an even more beautiful location. It is very private, deep in the woods and was the perfect place for my husband and I to get away and have peace and quiet. We almost forgot Bruce & Silvi were there. The cottage was very clean & came equipped with everything you need and more. Lots of wildlife as well. They had canoes & paddle boards available for our use and the cottage came with its own fire pit. They even had dvds & games to occupy us on our rainy day. They’re responses we’re very quick as well. We would defiantly book again at Innugati and recommend this place to friends and family!

  • If you are looking for a getaway from the city - look no further. A luxe cabin in the woods by a lake with access to canoes and paddle boards and most of all complete and utter privacy - we occasionally forgot Bruce and Silvi also live on the property! Bonus: you will see a plethora of wildlife :) thank you for a lovely stay... we will be back next year for sure!

    Marc2019-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • My fiancee and I had the pleasure of staying at Innugati for a June weekend and we could not be happier with the experience. It is a perfect destination for a couple’s getaway. The property and its surroundings are breathtaking. It is very self-contained and private, and there is plenty of nature to see and explore. The cottage itself is newly constructed/built, and it is truly gorgeous and so well thought. It strikes the perfect balance between form and function — simultaneously super functional and stylishly designed. It comes equipped with a large deck, its own shoreline and shoreline dock/patio, swimmable lake, a fire pit, an indoor fireplace, and all the amenities you would need for an enjoyable and relaxing cottage escape. Silvi and Bruce were the most wonderful and kind hosts — they were so helpful, friendly and accommodating. We felt perfectly at home right from the start, and they really went out of their way to make us feel cared about as guests. This was truly an unforgettable trip and we hope to be able to visit again soon. Thank you so much for hosting us, Silvi and Bruce!

    Evan2019-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriend and I recently spent a weekend at Silvi's beautiful cottage. To say that we were ecstatic with our stay would be an understatement! Silvi and Bruce were wonderful hosts who met us on arrival and provided a tour of the cottage and the many amenities. The amenities.. Where do I start? The cottage sits on a beautifully treed, 12 acre lot with so much to explore. The lake-front setting is gorgeous. The new dock and lake-side seating area are perfectly set up to enjoy the view. The wrap around deck with two separate seating areas, brand new barbecue, a view of the lake, and bird feeders provided an outdoor oasis to enjoy regular visits from blue jays, hummingbirds, and chickadees. We enjoyed roasting marshmellows in the outdoor fireplace, sitting on Muskoka chairs and listening to the sounds of the forest. The brand new cottage features a cozy interior. The warmth of the woodburning stove created ambiance and warmed the whole cottage a chilly day (with wood provided). The fridge was stocked with water and cream; consumables like paper towel, napkins, coffee, tea, sugar were provided. We enjoyed the welcome package of homemade muffins spiced with cinnamon. The fully stocked bathroom and large shower with rainfall shower head was a nice surprise. Small details like the scent of red cedar in the bathroom, Canadiana inspired decor, and unique lighting were the perfect compliment to the natural setting. Beautiful views from the many large windows brought the outdoors in. We're already thinking of booking another stay and can't wait explore the property and surrounding area again. Thanks Silvi and Bruce! We feel honoured to have been your first guests.

  • It was our second vacation in this cottage. It’s very relaxing place on the beautiful lake. Good fishing, amazing sunsets.. Thanks to Theresa one more time. She is a wonderful host who care a lot about guests. The cottage is clean and very good equipped. I would recommend this place.

  • Good value for the money. Cottage is as in pictures. Very comfortable with all you need to enjoy your stay. Little touches like marshmallow sticks and paper for the fire add to stay. She has some nice gravity chairs to enjoy on the deck. The steps to lake are steep like she says but once down there you can put some chairs on the dock and enjoy a pretty sunset. We went for a couple of canoe rides and the lake is just the right size. The water is clean and weed free for swimming. Fall is coming and the cottage trees will be very pretty for that season so book up before it is gone.

Diamond Haven is a stunning west facing cottage on pristine Ahmic Lake. Come here for a true Canadian getaway, winter or summer. This charming and cosy cottage is nestled in the woods of a large private lot, with expansive views over one of Ontario's most beautiful lakes. Unplug and enjoy nature in a well appointed, spacious cottage that blends cabin charm with modern amenities. In floor heating makes the cottage a great destination all year round. Suitable for up to 6 adults and 2 children.
The cottage is a warm and inviting cabin in the woods, with open plan upstairs living, and 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms on the ground level. We can accommodate up to 2 children extra on the trundle and bunk beds in bedroom 3 (see photos). There are views to the lake from every room, and on an almost 5 acre lot, the closest cottages are not visible from the house. The property faces west for amazing year round sunsets, perfect for sipping a cocktail from the deck or taking the canoe out for a quiet paddle. During the summer we get fantastic breezes off the lake. Open the windows (we have bug screens on every window and door) for a lovely breeze in the warmer weather. In winter it is warm and cosy throughout the cottage, due to radiant infloor heating. See this link for a fabulous view of our cottage from the sky, taken by some of our renters with their drone. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eu4dfBJ9uus We have a fully equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances, dishwasher, coffee maker, blender, toaster, pots, pans, baking sheets, kettle, microwave, dishes, crock pot, pop corn maker, griddle for pancakes, and a Nespresso machine (Breville Citiz). Upstairs and off the main living area is a large deck with views of the lake, where you can BBQ while enjoying the sunset. At the lakefront, you'll find 300 ft of west facing shoreline. In summer we have a large dock to soak up the sun. The water is clear, with a sandy hard bottom and no weeds, making it perfect for swimming. The entrance into the water is gradual for the little ones, but deep enough at the end to keep your boat. Between the shoreline and the cottage, there is a large sandy beach and a treehouse for the kids to play in. Ahmic Lake is a popular fishing destination for keen anglers all over Ontario. Even if you don't bring your own boat, (which you can launch at the public launch off of Hwy 124), you can use our canoe and 4 person paddle boat to catch the big one. On rainy or snowy days, or even if you just want to kick back and relax inside, we have an excellent collection of old time VCR movies to watch, plus board games galore. It's a lovely space and our guests all rave about the warm and inviting feeling they get as soon as they arrive. It is a true escape from the city and an ideal place to spend time with family and friends. We supply plenty of pillows, comforters, tea towels and bath mats. You will need to bring sheets, pillow cases, duvet covers and towels. This allows us to keep the costs down, and our turnover time to a minimum, allowing guests more time at the cottage and less time for our cleaning lady to be there. If you are coming from a distance and linen is a problem for you, we can provide linen (sheets, beach towels, and bathroom towels) for a fee and if given prior notice. The charge is $60 per stay or part week for 1 to 4 guests, and $90 for 5 to 8 guests.
Ahmic Lake is one of the most beautiful lakes in Ontario. Great fishing, fireworks in August, farmer's market in gorgeous Magnetawan village every Saturday morning, close to restaurants, supermarkets and walking trails
  • We stayed as a group of friends during the holidays. It was a cozy cottage with everything you needed. Nerine was very responsive in keeping in contact with us and extremely accommodating. • Perfect place for a family the shallow water went on forever and kept out 3,4 and 6 year olds entertained for hours. The. Inside the bedrooms being in the basement allowed for cool summer nights sleeps. Open concept upstairs and the baby gates on the deck and main level made it a lovely place for our 11 month olds to explore safely. We especially loved teaching the littles about VHS and VCRs as we watched many Disney movies to close out our sun and fun soaked days.

    Jennifer2019-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • Nerine's Cottage is super cozy and a great place to spend your vacation!!! There was everything that we needed and more. We look forward to coming back in the future!!

  • The cottage is very clean and kept well. It is a great place for a weekend getaway with friends or family. I was there for a bachelorette trip with 7 girls and everyone enjoyed the weekend away. We were there the 3rd weekend of June and the mosquitos were horrible so bug spray was a necessity! Nerine was quick to respond to any questions or concerns that we messaged her about and was a great hostess.

Fall colors are in full swing. Enjoy a beautiful 2 bedroom cottage on the amazing waters of Ahmic Lake. Ideal for singles, couples and small families looking to enjoy the leaves changing color on the lake.
Ahmic lake is part of a two lake chain with over 5,800 acres of lake surface which is great for fishing, boating, swimming, canoeing, and most other water sports. The water is approx 5 - 6 ft deep off the dock making for fantastic swimming. The cottage is located on a year round road, so it is easy to access with any vehicle (4x4 with big mud tires not required). The cottage provides that disconnected feeling while still having: - 2-3 LtE bars of service (IPhone 6 on Telus network similar for Rogers), - 6 minutes by car or boat to the Swiss Country Restaurant, which I highly recommend you try, - 10 minutes by car 40 minutes by boat to Magnetawan (General Store, bakery, ice cream, and Library), and - 30 minutes to Parry Sound. Whether you are reading a book on the deck or dock, writing your memoirs / hatching the next phase of your life, making memories with the kids on land or in the water, life at the cottage is fantastic.
If you are looking to go out for dinner we highly recommend the Swiss Country Restaurant, which is a short drive or boat ride away. Reservations are strongly recommended as it is a popular reasonably priced place.
  • The cottage was great for a family or small group of 3-4, it is nice, clean, compact but cozy. The Ahmic lake is amazing, and Brent, who is great canoe paddler, brought us for unforgettable canoe trip around the islands on the lake, incredible beautiful foliage during the peak time of fall and I believe it is in summer too. you can see some pictures I took on the cottage facebook page. The shower you are welcome to share the owner on the main cottage. And for the heat in the fall, the personal heater provided is sufficient. We all say gratitude to Brent and his wife for the welcome delicious strawberry bucket on the day we came. They are so friendly and helpful. Love their hospitality. Looking forward to have chance to come back and stay.

On cool evenings, enjoy a wood fire in the great room, or relax with TV or games in the rec room with the gas fireplace.
The 2800 sq ft. cottage (1400 X 2) is centrally airconditioned but even on the hottest days, the downstairs bedrooms and recreation room remain cool. Ceiling fans are provided in every bedroom and in the great room. The kitchen is spacious and is open concept so that you are never apart from whatever is going on. Stainless steel appliances include propane gas stove, electric refrigerator and dishwasher. A double stainless steel sink plus island sink make meal preparations easy and fun. The adjustable stools make a comfortable spot for having a snack or cocktail. The kitchen is fully equipped with microwave, toaster, coffeemaker, kettle, pots and pans, slow cooker, cutlery, glasses and dishware. A fully stocked pantry includes necessary spices and staples like sugar, salt etc. The cottage is set on a gently sloping lot with a granite stairway and path to the lake and dock area. There are shallow inlets where you can launch a canoe or kayak, enjoy watching children play or dive right off the dock. The water is clear and cool with the usual westerly breeze off the big lake. Our 200 ft shoreline is edged with the type of rocks found in this area, looking like "whales" due to their colour, size and amazing smoothness. Adjacent to our property is crown land which extends around the end of the bay, making the location very private and peaceful. Enjoy meals on the deck at the patio table overlooking the lake, or inside at the dining room table which seats 8-12 comfortably. The screen porch adds another option for casual meals. • Joanne and David cottage exceed’s expectation, I couldn’t recommend it more. Loads of space in the house, modern amenities and appliances, everything you could want or need including Canoe, Kayak’s and life jackets etc with your own dock and access to the water. We had a perfect labour day weekend in Whitestone. 10/10!

  • This is my second time at Joanne and David’s cottage and it never fails to impress! The view is gorgeous, relaxing by the dock is a lot of fun and their house is fully stocked with the basics and tons of comfy blankets. The place is very clean and spacious enough for 12 people easily! Overall, had a great weekend and would love to return again :)

  • Joanne and David are wonderful hosts! Very friendly and easy to contact. Their cottage is new and clean with a big kitchen and modern bathrooms. Plenty of space for a gathering. The rocky shoreline is beautiful and very private. The cottage is a bit remote, therefore you must plan accordingly re: supplies. Best for slightly older children. Our hosts went out of their way to set up an extra little toddler bed for our niece. The kitchen was stocked with spices, oil, s&p, etc which simplified life. Overall, we were very satisfied and pleased with our week-long stay and really enjoyed the serenity & peace in such a gorgeous setting!

  • Our family had the best time at this cottage! Joanne and her husband were such lovely hosts! They provided us with canoes, kayaks, paddle board etc and all the kids had a blast. The location is very remote but that’s what we enjoyed about it. Over our few days there, we had in between 6-10 people staying with us and there was tons of space for everyone. I would recommend this cottage to anyone who wants to get away from it all and just relax. We will visit again!!

  • Excellent cottage, very spacious, has everything you could need. WiFi isn't the best, and cell reception can be spotty, but that's pretty small compared to the brilliant cottage and location. Lots to do, very well organized, and the host is excellent.

  • Dom's place had a gorgeous waterfront and dock. We spent a lot of time in the water and using his canoe and kayak! His place had everything we needed. Bedding was comfortable and kitchen was very well stocked. The only thing I would say is that the A/C was a bit loud in the two basement rooms and a bit weak in high humidity weather. Dom was very easy to communicate with!
