Hello! The Domaine de Bouquié is a truly exceptional place: 100 hectares (that's 1 million m², really! ;-) of pure nature in one of the last large forest areas in the south of France. Pure nature that still exists here invites you: the view over endless forests and the panorama of the Pyrenees is unique, the nature lush and green, traces of wild animals, in the airy heights the eagles circle majestically... Living nature. Who is looking for peace, stillness and nature is right here!
“I am doing a motorbike tour across Europe, and this was my first stay on the trip. To start with, I had a delightful stay and wished I could stay more. Susanne was very prompt on communication, gave me all the information needed to get there. I received a warm welcome; Other than Susanne, there was the owner of the property and another guest and a sweet BIG dog "Wolfie." It was like living with a family. Over two days, we shared food, culture, drinks, and thoughtful conversation. The property is vast; you can camp anywhere you want, and use the facilities as needed, they can also give you camping accessories as required. I highly recommend this place.”
“My stay with Sam and his family was amazing. They made me and my dog feel extremely welcome from the first minute. I was even invited to a dinner with their friends and I was able to get an inexpensive dinner the first night as there are not too many restaurants in the area. Their son Leon showed me around the small village and indicated a walk around the beautiful nature in the area. The guest room is very spacious and cosy and has its own bathroom. The bed was super comfortable. Breakfast with homemade jam and local cheese was delicious. Sam’s family was extremely easy going and hospitable. Absolute role models of Airbnb hosts! I would return there in a heartbeat.”
Covid-19 - Separate entrance and no contact with host available throughout the year. The gite is set on the ground floor of a 150 year old converted watermill. It borders a river and sits on 2 acres of wooded land. The little village of Puivert is ten minutes walk, known for its Cathar castle and swimming lake. It’s a perfect spot to relax, or to explore this wonderful area, famous for its history and its wine.
“This is a wondeful find! The place was a warm and cosy retreat after days skiing and I recommend 100%. We loved the kind extras like the jam and the homemade cake too. We're already planning when we can return to explore the area more. Thanks for such a warm welcome and for being wondeful hosts!”
