this house, by the Niyodo River (Ino Village in the Kochi Prefecture), was built in the Meiji Era. Along with friends, I’ve been renewing and rebuilding the house to be as simple and cozy as possible and using mostly natural materials, so that every guest would be able to enjoy and relax.
“The yananose house is in a beautiful area along a river. The dining and living area is magnificent. We visited in December and appreciated the wood fireplace. The sleeping room was heated with electric heaters and was comfortable. The toilet and bath rooms are a step apart from the sleeping area. There is a delightful coffee shop/produce market up the road with a nice view of the river. We highly recommend having Ono arrange a local meal prepared and served in the dining room. We had two meals and they were a highlight of our whole trip to Japan.”
A 150 years-old Japanese traditional house was built in the Maiji Era, reformed more comfortable. The house is surrounded by nature. The Niyodo river (the most beutiful river)runs near the house. It is a great place to relax, feel the Japanese culture and enjoy beautiful nature. The house has a Hibachi : Japanese hearth grilling. would you like to broil mochi(餅) and warm up your body and mind??
“A very nice old private house renovated by the family. It was very comfortable with cleanliness every corner. Local ingredients will be prepared if requested in advance. I asked for BBQ and salt-grilled salmon, but he taught me how to prepare and clean up charcoal, how to grill the salmon, and carefully pointed out local famous shops and points of river play. Although I was staying in the management room, it was a very comfortable space with a reasonable distance without any discomfort. Thanks to that, I had a wonderful experience, so I would like to use it again!”
“very honor to be the first guest. Clean and tidy room，warm-hearted and offer food for us as we are henros to temple 37 ，there is no food shop on the henro road.”
