Overall great experience and we would recommend! Alberto was very helpful and responsive, and Paula the housekeeper was also lovely and so helpful. Fantastic location with coffee shops, restaurants, and gorgeous beaches all within 5-10 minutes easy walking, but not right in the middle of the most touristy part of town-- perfect! Private carport for a small car, behind a locked gate-- very secure! (VNDM is super safe and friendly anyway, but having that private parking area was still nice.) The multiple terraces on this home are wonderful-- great views of the sun and sky. There was a big construction project happening behind the unit that we were not expecting, but the noise was not bad and the unit is quiet when windows closed. Home does not have a lot of the "little things" like spices, laundry soap etc so you'll need to purchase a few small items, but overall had all we needed and we had a great stay.

Dear Joost and Gini, Thank you for the warm welcome, nice to hear your story. The cottage is cozy, fully equipped and we slept wonderfully there with our two children. We enjoyed the beautiful spacious garden and nature around the cottage, and the kids were delighted with the swing and trampoline. Also very much enjoyed the food and atmosphere at restaurant Nirvana a 15-minute drive, thanks for the tip. Unfortunately, we could only stay 2 nights, hopefully see you next time and then we would like to stay longer! We have experienced you as very helpful, welcoming, open and cozy! We loved Vila Nova de Milfontes and Cristina's apartment is super well located: several beaches and the village center within walking distance, quiet, parking right next door. The apartment has a very nice little courtyard. Crisitina is extremely kind and caring, she welcomed us and gave us ideas for outings and addresses. i highly recommend Cristina's apartment and this part of the Alentejo!

A very nice place, extremely nice decorated and with impeccable cleanliness. We were very well received by the host, who was always available to help you. The apartment is located close to the center and the beaches, with good parking on the street. Highly recommended!

Had wonderful days in the Alentejo with our family. Beautiful setting! Just the sound of sheep, birds, horses and dogs. Licinia is a really friendly hostess who welcomes you. She also has tips for the surroundings. Beautiful beaches of the Alentejo. A car is a must! We enjoyed it!

The stay was amazing. The space is very welcoming, very clean and has a special touch where it is noted that the hosts have put a lot of love and affection. We felt like we were home and we were very well received throughout the stay. It is a quiet space where you can rest and with a charming outdoor space with the extra to have 4-legged friends as friendly as the hosts, who are amazing people. It is close to several interesting spots to visit. In my opinion were the most attentive and deserving of extra points beyond the 5 stars, as they also put an extra dedication demonstrated in the small and large details. Senhora Margarida and Mr. Pedro one until now. We'll definitely be back one day!

Our stay was great. The hosts were very attentive to our needs. The area is very quiet, which we value a lot. The house was cool and very comfortable. The place is accurate, ideal for getting away and relaxing as a family. Nearby places to eat well and supermarkets a few minutes away by car. Beaches nearby. Nature live. We were pleasantly surprised. We hope to repeat it if the circumstances allow us to do so.

Beautiful quiet hillside area, very secluded and private, several houses but you don’t even notice other guests. Beaches of Sines and southern area are amazing. 30 minute drive. Lovely pool area and Bert and Marianne are very helpful, friendly and easygoing people. Would definitely recommend a stay here!

The apartment was all in all great. What confused us was that you saw a dishwasher in the photos (no dishwasher was mentioned in the description, so everything was correct!), but it was not (yet) connected. How to cook, so it would have been important for us to know that the hob only has 2 plates. However, there is an outdoor kitchen with BBQ. The apartment is otherwise super equipped and very modern and attractively furnished for us. Surroundings are great! You should not park permanently on the street. We were sent away from the GNR. However, there are 300m further large parking spaces, so no problem either.

Vitor is one the best host ever, the house has positive vibes, everything was just on top, and you have the calmest house while you have access to all services with feet only. And some of Portugal's most beautiful beaches are just a half-hour's drive away. Thanks for these 5 weeks of pure happiness!

amazing the place

Very pleasant stay, definitely a recommendation: my following comments are to clarify or recommendations. The road to Herdade is a dirt road (which I like): we tried 4-5 different routes to the accomodation and although you can not trust Google maps all the time you can see a lot more of the amazing landscape if you just try. The main suggestion we got from Google maps was one of the routes which isn't possible at all (due to the railroad) but there is a sign at the entrance. We had the accomodation in the main house which has limited outside space. The other apartments have comfortable lounge seats, this apartment has not. The pool is only shared with the owner and the two other apartments. Although large it is not deep: good to chill but not to have a swim. It is so large that it is difficult to clean: we had some algae growth in corners but the water is very clean so still **** from us. We would have loved some more information about the Herdade: You can see the cork oaks and pine tree but as a non-portugese it is difficult to understand what that means. Of course you can ask Google and Wikipedia to be your assistant but if you are at the source .... Perhaps some tips about local restaurants might be helpful: we did not ask Patricia which of course we could have done but found that everywhere we went was good or better. Cooking in the apartment is possible but the kitchen is small. Patricia told us at arrival that the guard dogs might be heard at night and she was right. Of our 8 days stay it bothered us perhaps one night but if you are a light sleeper it might bother you more. We loved the Rafeiro puppies by the way <3, we might have spoiled them a bit (cuddling with a potential guard dog might not be the best way for their education but hey). If you love nature and still want to be at a beach in under 30 minutes this is the place to be.
