Tapada da Raia has 35 acres of land, in the Natural Park of Serra de São Mamede (being the last Portuguese house, because it is bordered to Spain). For years it served as an anti-stress refuge for the family, who today decided to open the doors for those who want to spend relaxing days in the nature. Our house is spacious and bright. We have created an open and comfortable space where you can enjoy the tranquility and nature that surrounds us. It is an old rehabilitated Alentejo mountain, it is isolated, in a landscape of meadow, and olive trees. The village, Barbacena, is about 3 km away. To get to the house there is a road of about 400m of land through which any vehicle can travel, although slowly.

Stone cottage in the Natural Park Serra S. Mamede

Our little stone cottage lies on a stream and has views of the beautiful hills and meadows full of olive and cork trees. In the garden you will find some fruit trees, herbs and flowers. Not far there is a nice waterfall to enjoy hot summer days. This is a peaceful place to relax. Here you can get immersed in nature's beauty, enjoy the sky full of stars and listen to the sheep's bells chiming.
