Holiday rentals in Shirakawa, Ono District

This 95 year old traditional house is beautiful. It's perfectly located, right next door to the Omicho Market and a short walk to the Castle and gardens. We let the host know we intended to walk to the accommodation from Kanazawa Station and she sent through a map and photo guide. She then meet us at the house and gave us a tour of the house and also afood/tourist map. We were there over Golden Week and the host let us know about special holiday attractions we should check out. We highly recommend this accommodation, we loved it.

What an incredible place. We were allowed to stay a few days in this beautiful Finnish wooden cottage in the mountains of Takayama, and it was truly magical. Everything was right – the quiet, the nature, the mountains... it almost felt like we were in a movie. The owner is an extremely strong, lovely woman who made our stay even more special. She was super helpful and responsive to every message. Her warmth and hospitality felt like a blessing – we are really grateful to her for that. The cottage itself was cozy, warm and radiated a kind of spiritual tranquility. We have rarely experienced something so beautiful and pure. The surroundings are breathtaking: high mountains, pure air, silence, and a splendor of nature that makes you quiet. And the food? Just as wonderful as nature itself – pure, full of taste, and prepared with love. We already miss this place and would love to come back here. A stay to remember.

Very tidy and clean. It get everything I need , very well organized and handy. Keita is very kind and passionate to explain to us as well as get me very extensive detail tourist spots brochures. Highly recommended !

Absolutely loved our stay at Takayamaan!! Superb interior design and top notch user experience.. The dining hall is fantastic, and futons are so comfortable, this is way better than staying at a hotel.. not to mention the BIG space and more than adequate amenities within.. suitable for small team-building or small group retreat.. would definitely want to come back again!!

We loved our stay here! The location is in the countryside, which is what we were looking for, but it was also convenient to drive to local attractions and tourist areas such as Kanazawa. Our hosts were very welcoming and went out of their way to welcome us and make us feel at home. My girls loved the video games and being able to see the chickens, too. The house itself was super clean and had everything we needed, then some. The kitchen was the best equipped I’ve ever seen at an air BnB. The beds were also very comfortable, and we all slept well thanks to the room-darkening curtains. We had a great time relaxing after days out, and it was nice to be able to take walks through the neighborhood and to the ocean, and to see the stars at night. We would love to stay here again some time soon!

We had no trouble finding the hotel from the train. It was a walking distance and it was quite a lovely walk because you see all the different stores and restaurants. We arrived early so we rested in the lounge and then went shopping and had lunch. Finally, our room was ready and we were very impressed with the decor as well as a cleanliness. We especially loves the outdoor onsen which made you feel really relaxed as you listen to the birds. Our next night was with another Iori property so they transported our luggage to the next destination (so that we didn’t have to lug it around on the bus). Overall, we would be returned!

Easily one of the best Airbnbs we’ve ever stayed in. The house is located in a beautiful and serene town surrounded by nature but close enough to town so that if you wanted, you could easily walk into the center and enjoy restaurants and cafes. We particularly loved the Insect Museum! With a car you can do trips to the bigger city of Kanazawa as well as other surrounding attractions in nature. The house was inviting, comfy, and most of all spotless! The bedrooms were prepared for us, the bathrooms were basically sparkling, and the living room; with its wood burning stove was so cozy! I’m not being hyperbolic when I say it was completely perfect. We are grateful to the hosts for offering up their beautiful home and their amazing hospitality. We truly cannot wait to go back!
