In winter, it is often fine to go cross-country skiing on the lake down the house or get away to the Vasaloppet track in Mora or to Orsa Grönklitt which is 20 to 40 minutes away. Gesundaberget and Tomteland just 5 km away. In summer, there is a rowing boat to borrow. On the plot down by the lake there is a barbecue area and wood stove sauna. Very nice swimming area with barbecue area is available in the nearby area.

In Tallstjärn you can fish for Rainbow salmon after you release a fishing license. It is possible to rent fishing rods and buy coal and wood on site. Hökbo is a "twin cabin" to Starbo.
