There are plenty of water sports possibilities (surfing, kite-surfing, sailing,...) as well as golfing, hiking, bird-watching in the area. A well equipped supermarket is near the centre of Stavoren (about 3 km from the house) which is also reachable by boat. Several good restaurants nearby are reachable on foot or by bike.
