Casa do Rio Alva is a very special place with private access to the river! Our country house is located in the village of Secarias in the heart of the nature of central Portugal, 4 km from the village of Arganil and 55 km from the city of Coimbra. Exploring the Alva River from our home is a unique experience, where the following stand out: avocets, bees, kingfishers, crows, swallows, foxes, field mice, frogs, toads and snakes, numerous fish such as bass, bogas and carp, but also trout and eels.

We have two accommodations available, Poolside Rest and Secret Garden Retreat, each with bedroom, bathroom and kitchen. You can book either (or both if there are two couples in your group). The private pool is just a step away from both. A barbecue area is yours to enjoy and the seven acres of land can be explored. There are many activities to enjoy, depending on the season, from grape-picking in our vineyard, olive picking and generally exploring a beautiful part of central Portugal.
