Location Opened in May 2024. Located in the heart of Takayama's historic district, Makoto-ya Ojin is a stylish inn in 1-chome, Ojin-cho, Takayama City, where the good old Japanese landscape remains. In front of our house, which is sandwiched between the Hida-Buri Highway that connects the former Toyama and Takayama, there are the Nissho-bu Mingei Kan and the Yoshima residence, which are important cultural properties that show the rich cultural assets of Japan, and this area is designated as a preservation district for traditional buildings. You can enjoy the old town and beautiful scenery while experiencing historic buildings. It is a 2-minute walk to Miyagawa Morning Market and a 5-minute walk to Sakurayama Hachimangu Shrine, the site of the autumn Takayama Festival. The festival stall in this area is called Hōmeita, and it has a variety of decorations such as a palanquin and sculptures (1-minute walk to the stall). Enjoy Takayama's history to the fullest in an excellent location. <Building and Hida master carpenters> Built 145 years ago by a master craftsman from Hida, this building has been revived here by modern craftsmen. You can enjoy a relaxing bath while watching the garden from the open-air bath. The inn is located in Sanmachi, where there is an old town, and Kamisannomachi is just a short walk away. You can also walk to the Yatai Kaikan of Sakurayama Hachimangu Shrine, Hiei Shrine, and Takayama Jinya. Hida has many tourist attractions such as Shirakawago, Okuhida Onsen Village, and Shinhotaka Ropeway. There is a bus from Takayama City, making it easy to visit.
