This is one of the few remaining Shoin-zukuri-style, purely Japanese buildings in Hiroshima City, built 75 years ago, shortly after the war.One step from the main street, there is a small Japanese-style garden in a quiet environment where you can relax. Some of the items on display at the Dance House include a vase that partially melted due to the heat from the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima on 6 August 1945, as well as photographs from around 100 years ago. The fittings and glassware date back more than 70 years, and the two gardens, the irigata (raised floor area), and the study, in particular, capture the atmosphere of a traditional Japanese house. At present, these items can only be obtained by placing an order with a select group of craftspeople. Of the five rooms, three are tatami-mat rooms; please sleep on the tatami mats with your futon on top at bedtime. There are a large shopping centre, Youme Town Hiroshima, which offers a full range of everyday essentials, convenience stores (Seven-Eleven, FamilyMart), and restaurants (okonomiyaki, ramen, sushi, yakiniku, waffles, bakery, etc.) within walking distance.

This is an old private house inn that initially opened as an accommodation facility for almost 100% inbound guests. We are renovating the semi-open-air bath inside the storehouse and the area around the water. ■ Soothing moss garden ■ There are three moss gardens: the front garden, the middle garden, and the back garden. Well water flows everywhere, and there is a stream that flows between the holy water basin, the ladle, the deer stone, and the stepping stones. The pot pond is home to koi, goldfish, medaka, conger eel, and river shrimp, and it is a biotope space visited by wild birds. ■ Check-in lounge (cafe/lounge area), souvenir corner ■ You can enjoy authentic cocktails on the ground floor of the annex (main building). There is a separate indoor bath from the Hinoki bath, but the view of Setouchi and the starry sky from the Goemon bath, heated with firewood, is the best. If you're lucky, you'll see artificial satellites and meteors. The water heated by firewood never gets cold. It warms you from the core of your body. The bedding is specially ordered from a long-established bedding manufacturer in Kyoto, and the bath invites you to relax your body and mind and sleep soundly. Most guests say they sleep well. During the day, you might want to spend some time in the lounge filled with houseplants. Enjoy the sunlight shining through the trees from the skylight. Here, the right answer is to do nothing and just be. How about emptying your mind? If you request at least a week before your stay, we can prepare local food from Oshima Island and seasonal food that we can get through a special route. On sunny days, enjoy morning coffee on the large wooden deck. In the cold winter, warm up with a wood stove, and make and eat a delicious meal yourself. Play your favorite music, and read surrounded by books lining the walls. Take a walk to Gero Station while catching a glimpse of life in Gero. Fishing at sea, picking azaleas, bamboo shoots, and wild potatoes in the mountains, and eating them yourself. Long stays are recommended. Based at Shimonada Cabin, it is about an hour's drive to Matsuyama City. 2.5 hours to Shimanto River. 3 hours to Shikoku Karst. Shopping can be done in Iyo City or Nagahama Town, or you can buy from local fishmongers and greengrocers and cook for yourself. Of course, you can also eat at a nearby restaurant if you book. Anyway, I want you to relax at Shimonada Cabin. One night is too wasteful. I recommend at least 2 days. It is a place that can be enjoyed in good weather or bad.
