Banyan Camp

GretaRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Unique place to stay, removed from the main tourist trail in Sri Lanka. Camp has been built up over decades with plenty of spaces to relax, read books, meet fellow travellers. People of all ages staying, young couples and families alike. lots of wild life around so be prepared for that as all the rooms are open air (with mosquito nets of course). Definitely worthwhile and plenty of day activities offered by the Camp.

Bed and Breakfast in Udawalawe-Edenhaven Cottage

PatriciaRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Lovely brand new little cottage in a private area of Udawalawa. Very private location in the peaceful jungle. The property was easy to find and walking distance (or short tuktuk) to restaurants. Hasith was very friendly and helpful, he was able to arrange everything for us, including safari, spa, and a driver to another city. We would visit again!

Rawana Safari Cottage 2

AlinaRating, 5 stars1 month ago
For us, it was the perfect place to visit the National Park. It's only a few minutes drive and the host organizes the tour himself at a really good price. In addition, a driver was organized for us by Hiriketiya for a local price! Most of them want very expensive prices from tourists, so we were grateful to have found such a great host. We had everything we needed. Thank you for the great hospitality! We would come back anytime.

Rawana Safari cottage 2 AC ROOMS

FabioRating, 5 stars4 months ago
We thoroughly enjoyed staying here and my daughters were excited to have their own little house! It was well set up with a restaurant across the road for breakfast, lunch or dinner, and also packed breakfast for the safari if needed. The hosts were very friendly and showed us lots of birds and animals in the lush garden. They also shared badminton nets and cricket bats for our daughters to play and put up big hammocks to relax in. They were able to arrange everything such as the safari tour, a trip to the local Buddhist temple and to see a colony of fruit bats, and a car to our next destination. I’d recommend going for the 6 hour safari as you can go a bit further into the park and not be around as many jeeps. We saw elephants, mongoose, monitor lizards, the giant Sri Lankan squirrel, crocodiles, wallowing buffalo and 20+ kinds of birds. Recommended as a place to stay near the safari park entrance.

Banyan Camp- Wine Lodge

ConorRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We had a fantastic stay at Banyan Camp. Came highly recommended by friends who had stayed recently and it managed to exceed our expectations. One of the most peaceful and relaxing places I've ever visited. The whole camp is really well curated, we loved all the local antiques the owner has collected. All the traditional food was great, super healthy and was really fun to have the reasons why the various dishes are eaten together explained! We had a great time with the other guests around the dinner table too! Our dinner on the first night was floating on a raft in the lake under the stars which was a magical experience. Only regret is we didn't stay longer!

Banyan Camp

ВикторRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
This is a great camp to truly connect with nature. Each chalet has a fan and a mosquito net (we had to patch a few holes with tape). We slept wonderfully at night. The towels and bed linen were perfectly clean, and the camp staff made the bed every day. Excellent breakfasts (included in the price), as well as lunches, dinners, and coffee (available for an extra fee). All the food is vegetarian, but still very tasty and filling. The entire camp area is beautifully designed and aesthetically pleasing. Be sure to go on a safari in Udawalawe and try sap boarding. Keep in mind that this camp is located in the jungle, so outside the mosquito-net-covered bed, you’ll be surrounded by various insects, monkeys, monitor lizards, and more. Don’t forget to lock your belongings in the chest inside the chalet and zip up your suitcase — otherwise, the monkeys might come and steal something.

We had a really great time at Kottawatta village. The staff is very kind and the equipment perfect!! You will appreciate the calm and the good location near to the Uda walawe national park. The safari organised by the hotel is one of the best memory of our travel.
