Within walking distance there is a grocery store, cafe, sports facilities, beach with diving tower in the marina and not least high mountains with nice trails for summit trips. At the cabin there are large living rooms with room for many, 2 bedrooms + dorm room with two beds(+floor mattresses) large terrace with several seating groups and dining options, a small outdoor kitchen with gas grill and a large garden area.

Skjoldastraumen is an idyllic and quiet place with possibilities for more activities and excursions. The place is probably best known for its saltwater locks that opened in 1908. The saltwater blades are the only ones in Norway that are still in use. The sandy beach on Notaflå is centrally located and provides swimming opportunities on a nice summer day.
