The building was once part of the Byzantine Castle of Alonissos. In the early 19th century it was the island's first Post Office, and later the first ever café on Alonissos. All woodwork (furniture, floors etc) is handmade with solid oak tree wood and the décor is elegant and rustic. It is located in the New Settlement of Patitiri where the main port of the island is. It is a small house with a large front terrace and a private garden in the back. It was renovated, retaining many of its traditional elements and objects, while having the amenities of a modern home. Within walking distance there are all kinds of shops, public services and the bus stop. The nearest beaches, about 600 meters away, are Rousoum and Patitiri.
