  • Create your own custom hat
For the first time Makadora is opening their doors for all hat lovers to come and work alongside our esteemed Hat-maker to create their own hats. You will not only get an opportunity to learn the creative proces behind this rare art form but you will also leave with a custom hat you can cherish forever. This 3 hr workshop will be run in 3 parts: Part 1: TAILOR In the first hour you will receive a customized measurement by the Hat-maker which will determine your perfect hat size! We will then allocate your hat block as well as teach you how to use each antique Hat-making tool. You will then choose the colour of felt you would like to use to create your custom hat. Part 2: SHAPE During this segment you will learn how to block your hat using our antique tools and create the final shape of your masterpiece. You will receive a live demonstration from the Hat-maker and she will work with you to perfect your shape. Part 3: DESIGN The final segment of the workshop is the most creative! You will choose the materials you want to use for your final hat design and start putting together the detailing you envision. During this process the Hat-maker will be there to help you finish your design and brainstorm creative ideas on how you can give your hat its your own unique touch! *Each hat created on the day will receive a personalised signage with your initials in the hat Other things to note All participants will be using our antique Hat-making tools and will need basic sewing skills to completely the design of their hat

  • The Great Auckland Craft Beer Hunt
-Taste real fresh NZ craft beer with seasoned pros -Start at craft beer freehouse with a paddle of cold local brews -Take a harborside and city scenic walking tour between pubs -Taste the beer in Auckland’s oldest brewpub -Drink more beer and eat tasty food in lively central pub The point of our experience is that you actually get to taste real New Zealand craft beer, lovingly brewed by our microbreweries. Many bars and pubs in Auckland City Centre sell what they call craft beer. These are often beers made by one of our duopoly owners of the alcohol industry here in New Zealand. So actually the craft beer is made by a multinational company. So, all the craft beer we taste on our experience is made by locally owned small microbreweries who are dotted up and down the country. Because we are tiny we have easy access to beer brewed outside of Auckland. Sadly there are still only a handful of places in the city center that showcase the craft brewers work, but good news is, we'll take you there! A few years ago we saw this as an opportunity and the Great Auckland Craft Beer Hunt was born. We combine drinking amazing local beer with a small tiki tour of the city in between bars. Our guides are all about the beer, good conversation and catching you up on all things New Zealand. Also happy to help with journey planning over the beers if you are just starting out your adventure in NZ.

  • Walking a volcano with photoshoot!
We will meet at the bottom of Mount Eden/ Maungawhau and walk up the dormant volcano which happens to have spectacular views of the city of Auckland, Rangitoto Island and the Waitakere Ranges. I will show you some of my favourite spots along the volcano while capturing beautiful images of you on our walk up (20 minutes). At the top, you will encounter a panoramic view of the city where I will snap some more shots for your memories. Throughout the experience, I will give you some fun facts on the volcano and the city of Auckland. I can provide recommendations on request, for local places for lunch/dinner and suggestions for activities to do in and outside the city. At the end of the tour, I will provide you with 25 professionally edited photos within two weeks. Other things to note I am happy to get creative with you and take photo's wherever you get inspired along our walk! This experience depends on the weather!

  • The Easy Rider - Auckland eBike tour
We’ve designed this electric bike guided tour to showcase Auckland’s amazing waterfront. The ride is on the flat and on dedicated cycleways. So it’s a great option for riders who are looking for an Easy Ride! We’ll show you the best of Auckland’s waterfront. The area around our meeting point at the Park Hyatt Auckland in Wynyard Quarter is the perfect place to start our ride: nice and flat and plenty of space to do your test ride and get used to your electric bike. From there, we’ll ride along the buzzy Wynyard Quarter waterfront and learn about New Zealand’s success in the America’s Cup as we cruise through the Viaduct. Then it’s on to Tamaki Drive, a favourite destination for locals and for visitors – lots of lovely beaches and plenty of great cafes on Tamaki Drive. And to top it off, at the end of the tour, we'll give you a list of our favourite cafes, restaurants and bars around the central city - many of which you'll have cycled past! PLEASE NOTE - if you can't find availability for this tour on the date you are looking for, we recommend you check out our other Auckland eBike tour with Airbnb Experiences: "Ride with a Local" - https://abnb.me/qG0nHl8cyX?s=51 Other things to note Minimum height is 5 foot (152cm). Our electric bikes are designed with a maximum weight capacity of 250 pounds (113 kg). We ride rain or shine – free use of a rain jacket, if you need one.
