Amy and Peter's slice of paradise was peaceful and relaxing. Amy and Peter are terrific hosts. The studio had allot of the amenities we needed. The small town of Hawi had a few good places to eat. We enjoyed KO pizza (open Fri-Mon) as mentioned by others, the Hawi Coffee Company (breakfast/lunch) and Gill's Lanai (Tues-Sat). About a 20 minute drive is nearby Kawaihae which has Cipriano's kitchen--delicious beakfast/lunch--delightful attentive owners, and also shave ice at Anuenue is a special treat! Takata's market and the Saturday morning Hawi Famer's Market were great resources for groceries. We did make a couple of trips to Walmart and found the prices quite reasonable. Mahukona Beach Park is a quiet place for snorkeling and swimming or just relaxing by the water.. only 5-7 minute drive. Our month in Hawi was delightful and went by quickly! We would love to return some time!

This is a perfect little spot for a vacation or if you have family in town. The power went out for a couple of hours and Malis met us at the door with a lantern. She was friendly and responsive, considerate and kind. The space itself is adorable with a comfortable bed and a wide variety of appliances. I highly recommend!

I have stayed in both of Ely’s AB&B cottages, and having stayed at numerous other AB&B’s both in Hawai’i and nationally, I would place her rentals at the top of my list. In terms of value, amenities, and friendly responsive hosts, this is my favorite place to stay on the north side of the Big Island !!

We spent two amazing days here and honestly didn’t want to leave. This is one of the most well-equipped and thoughtfully designed places we’ve ever stayed at. The kitchen is a dream — it has everything you could possibly need, more than I even have at home! For anyone who enjoys cooking while traveling, this place is a paradise. You can truly feel how much care and love the host puts into this home — every little detail is considered, from high-quality dishes to even small jars of shaving foam. There’s also a fantastic selection of beach gear — chairs, umbrellas, towels — absolutely everything. This place is simply perfect, with warmth and thoughtfulness in every corner.
