Olive Barn at Cwmhir Court
Such a lovely private spacious house and garden. A great set up for a break away with our extended family. Plenty of room to get together to cook, eat and socialise, then split off for some more quiet time when needed. Everything was clean and tidy, and we had all we needed. A beautiful location and very near to hay on wye which is worth a visit. Only slight downside is that the internet wasn’t brilliant, but that’s to be expected in the middle of the countryside and also meant we weren’t sat on our phones scrolling too much! The internet did work, just not super fast. Definitely recommend, and we’ll be looking to book again.

Beautiful 5 bedroom home by the Beach
Fantastic house in a great location. Plenty of space for the family and the grandparents. Hot tub was incredible. Amazing hosts very helpful. The house is well equipped with everything you could need and more. Thanks for having us!

Alpaca retreat with hot tub and great views
The hosts were very nice and friendly. They welcomed us, showed us around the house and said goodbye just before we left. The house was very clean and stocked with extras such as dishwashing liquid, pepper and salt, etc. The outside was very clean and well-kept. Beautiful flowering trees and shrubs. Hot tube ready for use. A beautiful place to rest and relax. For those who love nature and want to calm down. A wonderful experience feeding alpacas and listening to stories about them. A wonderful weekend, thank you!

Splendid Country Cottage Snowdonia
A lovely cottage in a very quiet environment. Rooms were clean and all things needed were there. When you arrive late at night, it could be a bit difficult to see the stone next to the main road that indicates the entrance to the site. Maybe we could consider adding a picture of that stone which had the name of the hall on it?

Bryn Holcombe Holiday Apartment
Simply beautiful, clean and lovely house. Also Eira was helpful and a great down to earth host. House has everything and also is at great locality. Llandudno pier is just 5mins drive. Plus lidl is just 2-3 walks and Morrison is 4mins drive from this place. Henceforth this will be my default place to stay at North Wales and also would highly recommend to anyone who is looking to explore north wales and need a beautiful peaceful place to stay with no negative points :) Thanks again Eira. Keep up the good work

Self catering apartment

South Wales 5 bed Luxury Getaway with hot tub
A fabulous short Easter break at Heidi’s home. We had great directions and instructions at the house. The area is great and a short drive from pubs, the beach, shops and some lovely walks. We had great weather so managed to sit outside on the patio area which is a great suntrap. Plenty of seating. Kitchen very well equipped, stair gates, high chairs and travel cots all available and were set out for us. Heidi was extremely responsive on messages. Overall, a fabulous stay!

Spacious holiday house close to beach
We went to celebrate our friends’ 60th birthdays’. We have been to this house before and loved it then, we were not disappointed this time. It was beautifully clean and we had everything we needed. The kitchen is very well equipped and is an excellent place to cook and chat and you don’t feel you are missing out on what’s happening in the lounge. Plenty of seating in the lounge for everyone. Easy walk to the beach and village. Germaine was an excellent host, very responsive and suggested things for us to do. Thank you so much, we would highly recommend this house to anyone.
Your guide to Wales
All About Wales
Wales is brimming with castles, which are scattered throughout the hills, standing guard on the coast, or sitting in deep valleys on riverbanks. From the ruins of Carreg Cennen to the towering walls of Caernarfon Castle and Pembroke Castle, you’ll struggle to miss one on your travels. Architectural treasures sit alongside boundless natural beauty, with thundering waterfalls and sweeping coastline aplenty. For an eagle-eye view of the north, head up the mountains of Snowdonia National Park — there’s even a train to the summit that serves up epic views from your seat.
St David’s in the southwest and Offa’s Dyke on the English border offer insights into Wales’ combative past, while Llangennith beach on the breathtaking Gower Peninsula is a laid-back surfer’s paradise. The capital Cardiff melds its trading heritage — the first ever million-pound cheque was signed at the city’s Coal Exchange — with a cosmopolitan vibe and Wales’ sporting heart in its national rugby and football stadiums.
The best time to stay in a holiday rental in Wales
Wales is at its best in the warmer summer months — this is when whale and dolphin sightings are most likely — but there’s a lot to be said for a chilly walk followed by a warming cup of artisan Welsh coffee beside a crackling fire in a holiday cottage. From early February to mid-March, the national sport is on everyone’s lips as a major rugby tournament takes over. Straddling the border with England, Hay-on-Wye hosts its annual literary festival in the spring, with authors and renowned speakers visiting from all over the world. The autumn months bring cooler temperatures and stunning foliage in the Brecon Beacons National Park, along with the popular Abergavenny Food Festival, which combines workshops with live demonstrations and a wide array of stalls run by artisan producers.
Top things to do in Wales
The Wales Coastal Path
Forming an unbroken path around the entire Welsh shoreline, the Wales Coastal Path spreads over 870 miles. From short stretches along rugged headland and pristine beaches to week-long adventures crossing multiple counties, sections of this extensive trail can be linked in with bus and train routes to create custom routes.
The Heart of Wales train route
Whether you’re a seasoned hiker or like to see the world go by in comfort, the Heart of Wales line offers a rare route through the centre of the rolling Welsh landscape. With services running seven days a week, the line passes over two viaducts and takes in rushing rivers, dramatic mountains, and dense forest.
Mwnt Beach
Nestled in a secluded spot on the Ceredigion coast, Mwnt is a quiet cove beloved by families, hikers, and wildlife lovers. Within easy reach of Cardigan, a walk up the steps to the clifftop is rewarded with far-reaching views over the bay and a good chance of spotting pods of dolphins — a fixture on this part of the coast.
