Pet-friendly holiday rentals in Whanganui River

We had a great time in Whanganui with lots to do over the school hols. While we weren’t in the house very much, it was comfortable and very well appointed for our group from 11 to 82! The backyard and games room are excellent for families.

We had a lovely stay at Jess’s place. The house was beautiful and we had everything we needed. I would definitely stay again

Loved the house and location... views spectacular. great place for a large group... there were twelve of us and did not feel crowded. close to town and the markets. Better than we expected. Will recommend it to friends and family traveling to Whanganui.

This is one of the best hosts I’ve ever met. We encountered a tricky situation, and the host set off from Auckland at 1 AM to help us. This was my parents’ first trip to New Zealand, and the experience left them with a great impression and deep gratitude. I highly recommend this place—you’ll get an amazing house with convenient access to many attractions.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Jodie’s place for a special family reunion. It fit all 11 of us easily and didn’t feel cramped. It was tidy and clean, and when we accidentally locked ourselves out at one point we were able to call and get back in within minutes! We all talked about coming back one day, as we enjoyed the space so much. Thanks Jodie.

We had a wonderful stay at this Airbnb on the ranch! The peaceful surroundings and beautiful natural scenery made it a perfect getaway. The accommodations were clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. The host was welcoming and attentive, ensuring our stay was enjoyable. I especially loved waking up to the sounds of nature and having the chance to explore the ranch. The rooms were huge and great for a big family or groups. Highly recommend this unique experience for anyone looking for a tranquil retreat!

Our 3rd visit and another amazing experience! As always the lake house is spotless and beautifully kept. Despite the gloomy wet weather the house is warm and cozy, with comfortable warms beds. The perfect spot for a family getaway. A quick walk to the lake front for a coffee is a great start to the day. A great base for adventures around Taupo 10/10 recommend

Great family week in Whanganui. Our place was amazing, comfortable, great vibe, relaxing, loved the pool and deck with outdoor bath. Wished we could stay longer. Ken and Jess so helpful and responsive, very friendly. Would love to stay there again.

myself and grandchildren loved Cecile's place..homely and has everything our lil family needed even the extras of brekky stuff, spreads, bread, milk ..truly appreciated when showing up with X4 young children ..We had a dip in pool abit cool at this time of year but refreshing ..

Ruby was a great and was very proactive with instructions. The place was spacious and had great entertainment with the spa, pool, and pool table.

The Retreat was fantastic - so good we wish that we could have stayed for longer than one night. Peaceful setting overlooking the water - the view from cottage 3 was incredible in my opinion. The owners greeted us upon arrival, provided great local restaurant recommendations and otherwise ensured we had whatever we needed. Tons of space for our family of 4. The property gives off a classic vibe, and it is clear they are updating and upgrading the units with new amenities, appliances, etc. The wood burning stove added a warm ambiance for a peaceful family movie night overlooking the lights across the lake. A highlight of our roadtrip so far.

Loved our stay on Tui! The master bedroom was ginormous and had a lovely light and bright feel to it. The kids enjoyed the pool and it was a quick walk into town and to the markets. Perfect. Would stay again.

Despite an initial hiccup, we had a fantastic time at Tracy and Damien’s home. Tracy was very responsive and helpful. We loved our stay and will hopefully return to stay here again!

Great location really tidy comfortable beds so much for little money would highly encourage those looking for some amazing accomodation that ticks all the boxes.

We had another fantastic stay at Warren's accommodation. It is peaceful and picturesque, and it has everything you need for a relaxing break. Our two little dogs love the local walks along the lake. 5 stars all round.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful and well-equipped property. The house was spotless, cozy, and perfectly located—close to town yet peaceful with stunning views. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen had everything we needed, and the outdoor area was great for relaxing. One highlight was the spa pool—a great addition to the property. However, the water felt a bit over-chlorinated, which meant we couldn’t stay in for more than 10 minutes at a time. That’s just a small detail in an otherwise perfect stay, and I’m sure it’s something that can be easily adjusted. Overall, we highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Ohakune. It’s a wonderful spot, and we would happily return in the future!

The Pipi Pad was outstanding in every way. Well appointed bedrooms and bathrooms giving 3 couples plenty of room whilst staying. Tastefully decorated with extremely comfortable beds and gorgeous linen. Heaps on offer to to while staying there, ie books, games, ping pong, bikes and spa pool. Lovely touch by leaving fresh milk for us and allowing us to use things from the pantry and fridge. Jeremy’s communication was fabulous - we had no problem finding the Pipi Pad and getting in was easy. I would highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a great place to stay in Taupo.

Our stay was perfect. We were delighted to be able to stay at short notice for 2 nights after our booked accommodation wasn’t up to standard when we arrived in Taupo. The communication was great. Jan is such a warm and kind-hearted host – you can really tell she puts a lot of care and love into what she does. She had the heating on for me so the room was nice and warm when I arrived, and even brought me some milk later in the evening – such thoughtful touches that made me feel very welcome. The room itself is cosy, spotlessly clean, and beautifully decorated with lots of personal touches. The check-in instructions were very detailed and clear, so it was easy to find everything. The location is great – just a short walk to the supermarket and very convenient overall. Communication with Jan was super friendly and helpful throughout. She really respects your privacy, but she’s also very open and happy to chat if you’re up for it. I truly felt at home here and really hope I can come back one day. Thank you so much, Jan

We loved this place. Great living area for socialising, well equipped kitchen, showers had awesome water pressure, several lovely areas to sit outdoors. Perfect for our family get together with some of us staying onsite and others in the town centre. And later some items we'd left behind were returned to us which we were grateful for.

"Home away from home". We felt very well there, the place is perfectly settled and very well equiped with all the confort and modern equipment provided. Carty and Sher are very welcoming, very helpful with advises on Turangi activités.
