Beachfront holiday rentals in Whitehaven

Have stayed in Southerness many times but this is the first time staying in an airbnb and won't be the last. Lovely property close to all amenities.

Lovely stay at Powfoot over Christmas. Carolyn had very kindly put up lights and a Christmas tree for us which was extra special - thank you. Excellent instructions and detailed information about the house and the surrounding area. Also to highlight to take care on the mud flats when the tide is coming in. We enjoyed visits to Mabie Forest, Drumlanrig and Caerlaverock castles all recommended even on an atmospheric (wet!) December day!

The flat is described in the listing as basic, I think, but I wouldn't describe it as such. The flat feels new and smart, it is furnished and equipped to a comfortable standard and is decorated simply but tastefully with attractive macrame wall hangings and pictures and there are lovely plants. We also liked the design of the crockery :0) The things that make it 'basic' are not having a TV or WiFi, I suppose, but other than that, which the owner was very upfront about, we found it to be superior to other places that we've stayed at in the area which cost more. The views, onto adjacent buildings and roofs, aren't great and many places in Morecambe come with a sea view which is lovely, but the prom is just a minute's walk away to enjoy. There are pizza restaurants just seconds away and all the shops on the front and a bus stop less than a minute away, so the location is fantastic. It's a good place to stay and quite a bargain! Thoroughly recommend it.

We had an amazing time. The accomodation was right on the beach and the use of the Summer house and Hot tub was a wonderful addition. We did plenty of walking and found the guest manual very useful for recommendations around the area. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything you could need, as were the bathrooms and bedrooms. Susan's instructions for check in were very helpful, and we knew she was there throughout our stay if we needed anything. We would definitely return in the future. Thanks for such a great stay!

a gem of a place, the location was ideal for beach walks and exploring the lakes. utility room is perfect for sorting wet clothes and wetsuits post wild swimming. Cosy, comfortable and perfect for a group of 8 (4 adult and 4 children).

Denise has a lovely house which is full of character and beautifully presented. She is an excellent host who provided great communications and instructions and personally showed us round on arrival. The house is set on the outskirts of the village with a private footpath and steps to the beach. Each bedroom is en-suite, comfortably furnished with really good mattresses and bedding. Had a fantastic stay. Layout was thoughtfully and cleverly done, creating a really comfortable stay for 4 adults. Lovely and warm, beds incredibly comfy, luxurious reclining chairs, lovely powerful shower and lots of useful utensils in the kitchen. Outside space perfect for dogs with large and well maintained gardens, backing right onto the sandy beach which is walk-able even during high-tide. As to Linda and Paul, they couldn't have been more welcoming, clearly they really cared about their guests. I would recommend taking advantage of Linda's knowledge and experience and do a glass workshop (takes a couple of hours). great fun and you come away with a lovely souvenir of your holiday. We would definitely visit again, particularly in the summer when you could take full advantage of the outside area.

We had a wonderful stay, a beautiful lodge exactly as pictured. The park was very peaceful. Fab location to Bowness & Ambleside. Highly recommend and we will be back 😊

Out stay here was absolutely lovely. The place was really easy to find with all the instructions Jo and Paddy supplied. Everywhere was spotless, the pictures really don’t do it justice - they look lovely but it’s even nicer inside and out. The view made waking up in the morning a delight. The patio seating area is lovely, however it does look out onto a public pier so I imagine in summer it isn’t as private as it felt as we went in March They have lots and pots and pans and everything you would need ! The only downside I would say is there is a coffee machine however it wasn’t clear what coffee was needed to use it beforehand so we didn’t have the right coffee to use with it! (I think it’s ground coffee that’s needed) They do supply sachets of instant coffee and tea though which was super helpful All in all it’s an amazing stay and we are already talking about going back in summer !

Lovely lodge right on the beach, gorgeous views.. great for watching sunrise & sunset 😍 Lindsay left doggy treats & cake what more could we ask for! Lots to do on the site..

Brilliant caravan everything that you could need was provided, the only negative for myself personally was the phone reception was none existent inside but it was ok outside, I think Wi-Fi would be the only improvement but I’d definitely stay again

We had a lovely short break over the new year, the lodge was very homely and had everything you need. It was very clean and tidy and had a great view of the lake which was right outside. Vanessa was very helpful and was always available and had great knowledge of the area. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks

We had a fantastic stay at Sean’s and Kelly’s place . The place was immaculate and beautifully decorated. . Communication was seamless; Sean and Kelly were always prompt and helpful. We truly appreciated the thoughtful amenities, which made our stay even more enjoyable. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a coastal getaway far from the hustle bustle of a city life ! I would definitely book again.

Spotless, beautifully decorated, smelt so clean and fresh on arrival. Lovely touches like toiletries, tea, coffee, hand wash etc. like a hotel but in a caravan. Beautiful surroundings. Had a BBQ on the beach. Tried the entertainment, arcade, restaurant and all very good. We, as a family of 4, had the very best time. Would highly recommend, Matt was on the end of the phone and everything was made super easy. Will definitely be returning and would suggest to anyone that this is absolutely perfect for a family holiday that you can do as much or as little as you want and matt’s caravan ticked every box. Cannot recommend highly enough. Loved it. Thank you

The Sunny House was the perfect place for me and my family. Hana and Tony were extremely accommodating to our needs. Everything you would need, an impeccably clean and modern house and great location for The Lakes. When I'm back up again I will be looking to stay here. I highly recommend.

What a great place to stay. Herdwicks was an amazing place to stay for our weekend family getaway. It had everything you could need! The pictures don’t do the place justice. Herdwicks felt much larger than the picture show. The bar, very well stocked kitchen and wood burning pizza oven was our highlight. Our whole family loved the experience and we would come back in a heartbeat. Thank you Susan!

Amazing place, good views, everything you need and lots to do. 10/10

We had a great stay. The house was in a beautiful location, right on the estuary. Plenty of beach for walking. Beds were comfy and ample linen and towels were provided plus a great welcome hamper. The games room provided hours of entertainment and the hot tub was lovely for relaxing in after a busy day. The nearby rock park/quarry was a really interesting day out. We also enjoyed a meal out at the King William IV in Kirksanton. Jenny was a great host and was extremely welcoming and helpful. Would definitely recommend.

Great place very clean had everything we needed shops and seaside very close

A beautiful apartment, ideal for our family of three to visit Morecambe Bay for a weekend. Very comfortable bed, clean and tidy throughout, lovely beach view. Easy to access and great communication from the hosts - there was a small problem with the TV and Alex was on hand to sort it immediately.

The location and view were superb, best spot in the park!

Lovely home, met our requirements in full. We used it as a base to visit family. Pet friendly which was why we booked. Parking is a permit which is provided & there are sufficient zones in which to park a short walk away. Short stay outside the house made it easy to unload & re load the car. We enjoyed a very comfortable stay. Wish I’d read the check out details because I felt really bad that we hadn’t followed the instructions of putting the used towels in the bath & turning off the heating. Thank you Sally.
