“Our wedding was scheduled at a large venue, but with the global pandemic we decided to elope instead. Heather was extremely accommodating, caring, and helpful in hosting us. It was one of the most amazing days of our lives and we are so grateful we chose Camp Wigwam!! The camp was absolutely beautiful! Very clean and well stocked with anything & everything you need just in case. The pond is beautiful, you just can’t beat the view. We would come here over & over again!”
Classic Maine cottage on Papoose Pond, nestled among the trees. Enjoy the peace and quiet of this small pond, whether reading a book, or paddling a kayak, canoe or paddleboard. All the equipment is waiting for you. Lots to explore in the area as well, being close to Bethel and Sunday River, Fryeburg, North Conway and the White Mountains. Relaxing on the dock is always an option! Enjoy the glow of the fire pit at night, or gather inside for games or a movie. Time to kickback!
“We loved the camp & location so much that after our visit in May, we rebooked for June. It’s a beautiful camp, super clean and the location is private and quiet. Papoose Pond is wonderful. We enjoyed kayaking, swimming, paddle boarding and sitting around the campfire at night. We give David’s place a 100 rating out of 10! Highly recommend!!!”
At the end of a quiet gravel road, down a winding dirt driveway, secreted away among the pines and along the cool waters of the Crooked River, you’ll find a house… -- This *highly* secluded off-grid eco-retreat is the only development on a 480-acre peninsula of property bordered by the Crooked River, home to landlocked salmon, trout and Southern Maine's drinking water supply. A quiet seasonal getaway for solitude seekers. Available for booking May through November.
“Our stay at the Crooked River Tiny house was the perfect unplugged getaway. We found the kitchen to be just what we needed to chef up some gourmet camp meals. Even though it was rainy for 1.5 days we were there, the tiny and the screen(tree)house gave us different places to hang and watch the weather roll in. To listen and watch the wind in the trees is better than TV. Speaking of, the “bird TV” window in the tiny gave us lots of entertainment during our stay. We checked out local lakes and ponds for swimming as recommended by Keith. The river on the property was well loved by our dog and being able to let him roam free made our stay so much more relaxed. A cozy forest retreat that I’d recommend to any adventurous soul.”
