“Our wedding was scheduled at a large venue, but with the global pandemic we decided to elope instead. Heather was extremely accommodating, caring, and helpful in hosting us. It was one of the most amazing days of our lives and we are so grateful we chose Camp Wigwam!! The camp was absolutely beautiful! Very clean and well stocked with anything & everything you need just in case. The pond is beautiful, you just can’t beat the view. We would come here over & over again!”
At the head of spectacular Lake Christopher, this waterfront, 2-bedroom plus loft cottage offers private setting with dock, float and fire pit and superb access to western Maine recreation in all four seasons.
“Rick is easy to reach and quick w/responses. All amenities are provided and some you wouldn't even expect. You literally don't have to bring a thing. The cabin was spotless and truly comfortable. The beds, too. Lake Christopher is gorgeous (especially in the fall when we stayed). There's plenty of places to hike in the area or just enjoy & chill gazing out the full picture widows in the living room & sunroom - even on rainy days. Do hike up Mt. Christopher across the lake. Great hike and even greater views of the surrounding area. The price was very reasonable for what you get. For those who must stay in touch w/the outside world: the wifi & cell service was fast & clear. There's a reason why Rick's Lakeside Cabin receives so many positive reviews. Believe them!”
Very private, hybrid post and beam, with Private dock, kayak and canoe, ( Round Pond connects with South Pond and North Pond also ) swimming. Blueberries galore when in season.!!! 10 minutes from Bethel, restaurants, shops, The Gem theater, and the new Gem Museum. The Local Hub restaurant nearby, 1 mile. Paddle to breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
“We had a wonderful and relaxing four nights at Rick’s place. The house is beautiful. My husband and I traveled with another couple and it was lovely for each couple to have not only their own bedroom, but also their own bathroom. Easy access to the lake was great, and the lake itself is also beautiful and a great place to swim and kayak. Rick is a thoughtful and communicative host, making sure we had plenty of information to have a great stay, in addition to welcoming touches like muffins, wine, and making sure we had fans to be comfortable temperature-wise. The nearby towns of Bethel and Norway are quite cute. We would definitely recommend this place to other travelers wanting a relaxing getaway.”
