The people here seem relaxed and easy going, hospitable and very much in love with their hometown which in the Gifu park area retains much of the (Kyoto like) feeling of traditional Japan with it’s castle and a host of well maintained shrines. I don't think many people have heard of Gifu, even Japanese people, inspite of the Great heritage sights like Shirakawago, beautiful mountains and clear water rivers!
