Manjiro Nakahama is well known as the Japanese boy rescued at sea by Captain Whitfield and brought by him to live in Fairhaven for several years. Manjiro eventually became a national hero in Japan which has resulted in a visit to the town by the Japanese Emperor and many visits by Japanese tourist.

“Brenda's place reminded me of the secret garden owned by Miss Honey from the movie Matilda. Its description does not do it justice. Incredibly beautiful space, with lush vegetation, and intricate details throughout. All the small details represented the space and the local community. Although we did not get a chance to meet Brenda, she was very communicative and prompt with replies and we arrived to a sparkling clean guest house. We enjoyed the outdoor shower after taking a dip in the ocean, enjoyed the hot tub, and had lunch in the garden, surrounded by flowers, birds, and life. Her place was easily accessible and close to many local spots worth checking out. Already recommended her place to many of our friends and colleagues! A Super-host she sure is!”
