Swallows Nest Cottage with Pool & Spa

NikkiRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Fabulous week, swallows nest cottage was lovely and the swimming pool was great, we were the only ones in there each time. Chris even opened the pool early for us which was much appreciated. Used the steam room too and the fabulous hot tub - had fabulous walks with our two spaniels, along the coast to Firehills was our favourite. The Cove pub was amazing, very dog friendly, warm (log fire) and welcoming, food fantastic. All in all a really lovely week. Chris and Erik very ready to help but totally happy to leave you to enjoy their lovely gardens etc. We’ll be back! Thank you Chris and Erik

Cosy Countryside views/Woodburner/Dog friendly

GemmaRating, 5 stars4 days ago
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The cottage was pristine and homely with everything we could need. Sarah and Mark have clearly put a lot of thought into the layout and furnishings etc so it's easy to settle in right away. The secure garden was perfect for our dog while enjoying the views, and the location was great for exploring the area - quiet enough but within easy reach of local amenities attractions. Our children were even able to visit the sheep and collect some eggs from the chickens for themselves (and were most impressed with a huge double-yolker!!) :) Thank you both for a wonderful stay and we hope to return in the future.

Just got back from a fab weekend away. The location of the house is so great, everything is in walking distance. The house is lovely, although we spent most our time in the lovely little garden!

Charming Cottage in a peaceful and rural setting

MarenRating, 5 stars1 week ago

Red Gables Cottage

KevinRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Sally’s place is exactly as described and a wonderful spot to stay in Whitstable. The accommodation was clean and comfortable with everything provided that you could need for your stay. The welcome pack of goodies was a nice touch and much appreciated. The house is a convenient 10 minute walk to the harbour, beach and town centre. I would definitely return without hesitation.

The Long Stable: Rural, spacious, fast Wifi

ArneRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We really enjoyed our Easter week stay at the The Long Stable. Andrew and his wife were very welcoming and supportive hosts. The location is idyllic, very quiet and private, even if other farm buildings are nearby you won‘t be disturbed and can make the most of the huge terrace. The cottage is very tastefully furnished and everything is to a high standard. All mod cons are available and the kitchen is fully equipped so wie could enjoy cooking ourselves as well as trying out some of the many pubs and restaurants within easy reach by car. You can stroll around the farm or nearby woods at your leisure, we particulary enjoyed saying hello to the newborn lambs one of which we were allowed to feed as well. The farm is ideally located to visit the coast (recommending Rye Harbour Nature Reserve), National Trust Sites like Sissinghurst or Bateman or simply enjoy the countryside…you really are spoilt for choice. We highly recommend The Long Stable and would love to return for a longer stay.

The Beach House, family friendly pad on the beach.

HayleyRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
As a family of 6 with 4 kids (ages 2 - 11) all with different characters we loved our stay at the beach house and would definitely return. Sarah sent clear, easy to follow instructions for check in. A few stand out things that made our break excellent; the beachfront location, you literally walk out the back gate onto the dunes; the spaciousness of the house, we didnt feel on top of each other but plenty of areas to be together aswell; the cleanliness of the place was fantastic, it was also well equiped and nice little touches the kids enjoyed such as the board games. The area is also interesting and somewhere we have never explored before, we came for a more chilled few days so stayed local but still plenty to see. A couple of highlights were Dungeness nature reserve & the RSPB walks. Our youngest children enjoyed the play park which is a short walk, everyone liked the ice cream and fish & chips, shell collecting and the freedom of the beach on the doorstep.

Bright Modern Holiday Villa

TimRating, 5 stars4 days ago
Just back from a family weekend in Margate. Craig's place was the perfect base for our stay. The whole property has been finished to a super-high standard and everything was spotless. All the furnishings and equipment gave it a luxurious feel and the amenities were great with everything we needed. Although situated on the main road into town, it was nice and quiet in the flat itself. The advantage of the location was a short walk to the amusements and beach! I would highly recommend for anyone staying in the area.

Your guide to Camber Sands

Welcome to Camber Sands

The vast unspoilt beach of Camber Sands is one of the best on the South Coast. Whereas most others are shingle, here biscuity sands run for miles, backed by gorgeously tufted dunes. The beach feels wild and untouched, thrillingly huge and open, and although a couple of holiday parks in Camber village have drawn families for cabaret and crazy golf for decades, there has been very little seafront development. Indeed the dunes at the western end are part of a Site of Special Scientific Interest, an important habitat for rare plant and moth species and wintering birds.

Camber Sands is a great location for exploring the highlights of East Sussex and Kent. Beaches, white cliffs, and cool towns such as Hastings and Folkestone lie along the coast, while inland are Romney Marshes and the High Weald of Kent. The latter’s swath of hilly woodland and farm country is full of orchards, farm shops, and some top-notch pubs, plus fabulously picture-book Bodiam Castle, with its turrets and a moat.

The best time to stay in a holiday rental in Camber Sands

Camber Sands is wonderful in any weather. Growing numbers of cold-water swimming fanatics come to take a dip here in their bobble hats even on a bracing December day, though most visitors will find the holiday vibes of summer preferable. September is pleasant, with school holiday crowds gone, and the water still deliciously warm thanks to months of sunshine (disclaimer: not warm warm, but, you know, English warm). The area hosts a marvellous variety of events year-round, especially in Hastings. Its February Mardi Gras, May “Jack of the Green” festival, Halloween, and Bonfire Night are all great fun. August also brings Rye’s International Jazz Festival.

Top things to do in Camber Sands

Sunset

At sunset at low tide, endless pools of shallow water become mirrors to the rose-pink, tangerine, and lilac skies above, creating an incredible effect. Wander out into this wonderland of pastel-tinted reflections, then tuck yourself into a hidden nook among the dunes with a book to wait for another sublime celestial spectacle when the stars come out.

Rye

Camber village can sort you out for basic essentials and fish and chips, but it’s in ancient Rye where you’ll find food, shopping, and merriment. Tumbledown half-timbered Tudor buildings and olde worlde pubs intermingle with a new generation of sleekly styled cafes and antique shops in its cobbled alleys. Rye Harbour is also a good spot to begin walks or visit a pub.

Dungeness

Surreal and captivating, Dungeness provides an intoxicating mix of weirdness you never knew you wanted. This stark natural shingle spit is home to two mammoth nuclear power stations, a nature reserve, seafood shacks and pubs, some amazing architectural conversions including old abandoned railway carriages transformed into sleek holiday pads, and a quirky garden.
